Stolen Vows - Amanda Holly - 4 stars!
Victoria loses her virginity to the sexy Nikolai and it isn’t until years later they meet again. Nikolai is set on saving Victoria but they may just save each other.
Quick, dirty, light BDSM, action packed and suspenseful. I really enjoyed this. Nikolai was dominant and possessive and Victoria was the perfect fierce submissive. This ends on a HEA.
Serment au Noel - Erica Jaden - 4 stars!
Camilla enters into an arranged marriage with Alfonso after their wedding days to other people went sideways. What starts out as a business arrangement turns into something so much more.
This was a controversial read in my opinion. It bordered on abusive for me personally. But I did enjoy the turn it took for their shared kink and realizations about the people they could become. This ends on a HFN.
Darkest Obsession - Jade Marshall - 4.5 stars!
Dante and Echo are step siblings and both share an attraction to each other that neither act on. When Dante leaves because he wants no part in his father’s toxic empire, Echo is left with the fallout. Dante returns many years later to find things have changed and he’s ready to claim his girl.
Short, sexy and smutty. Echo was strong and loveable. Dante was dominant and protective. A lot packed into this short story but totally worth the read!! Jade has really been hitting it out of the park for me recently. This ends in a HEA.
A Red Christmas - Alison Mackenzie - DNF - No Rating
Honestly this was a hard story to follow and there was a lot of telling. So unfortunately this was DNF for me.
Covert Desires - M Kay Noir - No Rating - Did Not Read
I chose not to read this story as Femdom isn’t my jam.

All of the books within the anthology were really good. The last one was a bit much for me but still enjoyable. The mafia romances were intense and captivating. Just make sure to check the triggers before diving in. Overall, it’s a compelling collection that keeps you on the edge of your seat, perfect for fans of dark, thrilling romances.

This was a 5 story anthology of dark mafia reads. Each one unique in its own way and each author brings that special something to their version of dark mafia. Be sure to check the trigger warnings. I enjoyed some of the stories more than others, but can say this is a must read for all dark mafia readers.

DARKEST OBSESSION by Jade Marshall is a contemporary, adult , erotic, Mafia romance novella focusing on heir to the DeLuca Mafia Dante Deluca, and physiotherapist Echo Campbell.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Dante and Echo) DARKEST OBSESSION follows several years in the life of our story line couple. Dante and Echo were step-siblings following the marriage of Dante’s father to Echo’s mother but in the wake of her mother’s death, Echo became the fixation of the man in charge. Fast forward to present day, Dante DeLuca, heir to the DeLuca Crime family returns injured and broken from the Marines, coming face to face with our story line heroine but Echo withdraws from the man she once loved, a withdrawal that send Dante on a mission of discovery.
The world building follows some of the events of the past. We are witness to Dante’s indoctrination into the DeLuca Crime Family, and Echo’s loss of innocence at the hands of an evil man.

Dante, the male lead, knew he was inappropriately attracted to Echo, the female lead and his stepsister. Wanting to keep her safe from himself as well as escape the crime family he’d been born into, he enlisted in the defence forces at the first opportunity. Now medically discharged, he’s headed home because he has no other place to be.
Echo knew she was inappropriately attracted to Dante but he made sure they were never close and then disappeared, leaving her alone with her indifferent stepfather until she was eighteen. After he assaulted her, she moved out. Now she’s stressed to find Dante under her medical professional care.
Dante may have left her alone when they were younger but he’s not going to now. He just needs to convince her. When they get stuck in her isolated cabin in a snowstorm, it may be just the opportunity Dante needed…
This short story is dual POV, well written, and a dark, steamy, forced proximity, mafia romance. I appreciated young Dante’s care for Echo and his genuine attempt to do what was best for her. I enjoyed his response to finding her still present and single, and the protective response to her assault. I empathised with Echo’s isolation. I enjoyed the way she was encouraged to connect, and the enthusiasm that the pair brought to their intimate moments.

Kiah, the female lead, is a mercenary/assassin in retirement/hiding, running an inn on an isolated island. In storm, she hears a knock on the door and opens it to find Nico, the male lead and heir apparent to a crime family, demanding that she let him in. Reluctantly, she does, only to find him attacking and restraining her before drinking himself into oblivion. When she releases herself, she returns the favour more effectively, then has to look after him whilst he recovers from infection where she cut him. Once she realises who he is, she’s stymied as to what to do with him, besides take his attitude down a notch…
This story is dual POV, well written and a dark, reverse age gap, mafia, Domme romance. I enjoyed Kiah’s capability and competence, as well as her acknowledgment that she wasn’t at her peak. I enjoyed Nico’s changing perspective on life, and the grudging willingness to accept Kiah’s support. I enjoyed that he was willing to admit that he needed Kiah with him when he left the island, and to actively beg for her presence. I enjoyed the erotic intimate scenes and dynamic. I was less fond of the beginning, though I understood why it was written that way and that it is not inappropriate for these characters. I enjoyed the resolution and Kiah’s reengagement with the world.

amazing group of Authors
A delightful mix of stories that is sure to grab your attention
Darkest Obsession - Jade Marshall a son decided he wants to be more than what encompasses his father and the family business so he leaves. When he's forced to return, he finds out things did but didn't progress. He left little Echo to sink or swim, but now she's isn't little and she's floating.
Things happened and left Echo a wee bit broken.
Erica Jaden's story - kinda falls into the cookie-cutter rich man and office girl with a lil plus. I really liked it.
Ill come back and get the rest read. But yeah grab it and enjoy

Short but oh so good. Jade gives her readers richly described characters and a great plot. Dante denies his heritage and the role in life he is meant to lead. Bringing in his stepsister complicates everything. Stepsister - he can't have feelings for Echo!
Echo and her mom come into the family when Echo's mom married Dante's dad. Instant crush. But she hides her feelings and then he's gone.
The plot twists are tough but make these characters into what they need to be. Danger, lack of communication, strength and steam meld to make this into a really great short story.

Sin & Mistletoe has 5 different stories that just scream 'yes, please!' It was a pleasure to discover four of the previously unknown to me authors. I wasn't disappointed at all. All of these stories are HOT! I love reading anthologies to find new authors to read. I love how each story is mafia based and adds Christmas to the details. And a bonus to the hot wonderful stories, look at the sexy cover! Enjoy!

Holidays and mafia… two things that are covered in darkness in this anthology. Each story brings you something new and makes the reader beg for more. I absolutely loved it but you definitely want to read your trigger warnings for it. It’s sexy it’s steamy and it’s filled with amazing characters. The main reason I read this was for M Kay Noir who always brings the spice.

I read the ARC of M Kay Noir's book, and Wow! Another hot, spicy romance! Love her strong female characters, especially Kiah who will not be intimidated by the mafia prince Nico Ricci. He learns the hard way that Kiah's no pushover and that he has to abide by her rules. Eventually when he becomes vulnerable with Kiah he realizes how freeing and powerful that is.

So Jade Marshall was the reason I read this but I absolutely loved every story within this anthology. One reason I read anthologies is to introduce myself to new authors. This one did not disappoint. There was a few authors that were new to me and I enjoyed there stories as well.

This is a must read. I could not put it down. The book had me hooked from page one. Please make sure you read the trigger warnings before hand. Any one who loves mafia stories will love this book

Mafia books aren't really my thing. However I gave 4 stars because I enjoyed this anthology and that all the different stories included different mafia aspects so it didn't feel repetitive

If you’re into mafia romance this is probably the one for you. But it would appear I’m not into mafia romance because I didn’t love this anthology. I liked it, there were some fun scenes and I liked certain novellas (1, 2, and 3) more than others (4 and 5) but there were some editing issues that made reading this one a bit hard. Glad I read it around Christmas though, even if it’s dark Christmas!
