After the assassination of two American political figures, FBI Agent Steve Carter has been tasked with apprehending an unknown assassin, but over the course of three weeks, his search has come up empty, and his need to bring in the person responsible has evolved into an obsession, affecting every aspect of his life. All because of a man he has yet to meet.
Harry Applebottom is a hopeful romantic and a gay erotic romance author here to unabashedly satiate and titillate your inner carnal desires with lots of steam, heart, and love. Harry's works range from short stories and novellas to full-length novels of various subgenres, where every ending ends with a happy one.
This is a well written book with strong characters and an intense storyline. The author does a great job pulling you in and keeping you reading right to the end. He packs a ton in this short story and delivers a terrific read. Loved it !!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I'm wavering on how to review this particular story and am finding myself falling in support of the author's attempt, rather than my own critical response to the text. This is an interesting story with a fair bit of out there and wild elements which aren't really addressed in the blurb which do make it an interesting story, but are also potentially a touchy choice of content if the readers are at all politically inclined or have particularly strong opinions on real life conspiracy theories. I won't give away the plot in my review, but I did find myself making mental notes about how it's pretty deep and sensitive subject matter for a story which many readers may be expecting to be "just another erotic novella" about the relationship between the two main characters, so I think the blurb DOES need to be expanded. Nothing about the plot bothers me as a reader, and the only reason I'm actually uncertain about how to give a fair review is because the author has chosen to write a story about an FBI agent hunting a killer (the overuse of the word assassin was a bit off-putting since it was so frequent) but the procedural logic of this profession and the entire plot of the story are not even remotely logical nor does it follow realistic guidelines of how an investigation, particularly of this magnitude, would be handled, and I could NOT overlook it even when these elements are clearly deliberate choices on the author's part to further the plot (often in too convenient a fashion). BUT it's an erotic story about two men who find themselves on the opposite sides of a line and those lines are crossed because of personal feelings and for that reason only can license on the part of the author as far as the tenets of police work and murd*r investigations and how an FBI agent would do things can be overlooked because that's just the vehicle for the relationship to develop, so it could be a non-issue. Given the nature of the story, I suppose it should be a non-issue, and I wouldn't care as much about the logic of the character's choices or the lack of attention to realistic details on how this situation would be handled IRL if it weren't such a wild plot about a serious subject matter. And that is the reason I hesitated to provide a review, because it's seems that its not meant to be "that serious" but the plot makes it relevant and IF you are able to overlook the inconsistencies or weirdness in the way the agent behaves and how it's not realistic, then the story is good and if you're just looking for a quick, interesting, spicy read, then it's great. For me, I feel like it needs a bit of polish and more extensive research and a little finessing of the plot to make it believable since the author has chosen to make the plot a bit on the darker side and not quite so basic it would be easier to overlook those inconsistencies in logical response.

This is a bit longer than this author’s usual books I have read, so there is a more compelling plot along with the hot, steamy encounters between our two MC. Hot on the trail of an assassin, FBI Agent Steve is looking for any clues he can find to help identify the assassin. When he first encounters Chris at a crime scene, he doesn’t realize who he is. Something about the man catches his interest, but he isn’t sure why as he’s never been attracted to men. When a clue leads Steve to Chris, the meeting doesn’t go quite as planned. Steve is intrigued by the man and what he is told, and his life takes a radical turn. It appears this may be part of a series to continue the story of Chris and Steve, and further missions. Though morally gray, Chris’s character is compelling and seems to have a perspective that speaks to Steve. Chris is se*y, charming, handsome, and humorous, with a personality that is appealing to everyone. Steve is a bit more subdued and goal oriented, more of a straight man or backup to Chris’s more flamboyant character, but the two play off each other well. Steve is definitely seduced, and in more ways than one. There are a few gut-clenching events, some evil people who may be said to get what they deserve, quite a bit of action, and a HFN ending. The book held my interest and kept me involved to the end. I will watch for a sequel and the next adventure.

From the very beginning the story takes a wild turn leaving you wondering how it is going to end. The characters are very compelling, Steve is a FBI Agent disillusioned with his marriage and in search of an elusive assassin until he comes face to face with him. Steve is honest and shares this encounter with his boss only to be placed on leave which leaves him frustrated and disillusioned with his job. However, since the assassin has had an encounter with Steve already, he's not willing to let it end with Steve's suspension and what ensues is a cat and mouse game that will keep your interest. This is a well written book with strong characters and an intense storyline. The author does a great job pulling you in and keeping you reading right to the end. Quick read, great world building, and good characters. This book, dispute being brief, will pull you in and leave you wanting more. I hope spawns more of Chris and Steve and their cat-and-mouse escapades.
Harry Applebottom sure likes to shock and titillate readers abroad the spectrum with his stories!
The cat and mouse game that the elusive assassin plays with FBI Agent Steve Carter for three weeks after assassinating two senators is creative and twisted until he gets a break in the case where footage was handed in....
Steve has been so obsessed with the case that his marriage has suffered a blow leaning towards divorce but that does not stop him from finding the elusive killer especially now that he can see who this gorgeous blonde maverick is....
This is where their journey starts and where Steve's sexual orientation urge for men comes out to play....
A short steamy story with a HFN to titillate the senses!.

With a title like Seducing Steve you think you know how the story is going to unfold. You would be wrong! From the very beginning the story takes a wild turn leaving you wondering how it is going to end. The characters are very compelling and the situations are very pulse bounding and sexy! Steve is a no-nonsense kind of guy who gets punched by life but keeps on fighting. I found myself caring for him a lot and relishing all of his triumphs. This story is equal parts hot/heavy and exciting! It follows a nice pace that is over before you know it leaving you wanting more! I will DEFINITELY return to Steve’s world to see what other seductions await him and to see if he will reach his ultimate goals! This is a well worth read, highly recommended! Steve is a federal agent who’s put his entire life on hold to find a killer of D.C. politicians. When Steve catches Chris, it’s alluded they work for the same people. Except Chris may be part of a very secret operation used by politicians to stay in power.
The plot is intriguing enough where I’d be interested in learning more about Steve, Chris, and the dark political world they work in.
I was disappointed that Steve didn’t need that much seducing. Like, there was basically no hesitation or true internal struggle to be a straight guy and his first time. The steam was hot though.
The ending was left open so I hope the author writes a longer version or starts a series.

FBI Agent Steve is on the hunt for an assassin and is looking for any clues to identify the killer. When he meets Chris at a crime scene, he is intrigued by the man, although he has never been attracted to men before. He doesn't initially realize who Chris is. When a clue leads Steve to Chris, their meeting doesn't go as planned, but Steve is fascinated by what he learns. The book, "Seducing Steve" by Harry Applebottom has suspense, mystery, and steam. Harry Applebottom addresses serious issues in his writing, which adds to the authenticity of his work. Although his writing style may be a little rough around the edges, it gives his work a unique character.

Great short read. Suspend reality for a brief minute and enjoy this refreshing story about Steve, an FBI agent who’s obsession with his latest case has caused him sleepless nights and his marriage. After a hellish morning, Steve gets a break in the case, but following that break bring him face-to-face with an assassin, altering Steve’s life and his perspective on the job for which he has already given so much. Quick read, great world building, and good characters. This book, dispute being brief, will pull you in and leave you wanting more.

What can I say. Sometimes I get this hankering for smut…Not erotica…nothing as classy as that. Just pure on full throttle smut. And this fit the bill nicely.
The ‘plot’ (yes, I’m using air quotes there) starts with Steve, an FBI agent who is obsessed with tracking down a hired assassin who has killed two US Senators. Meanwhile his wife has had it and leaves him. He tracks this assassin down (his names escapes me at the moment…again, smut..sooo). And smut ensues. Lots of it. This all happens in about 50 pages. There’s a cliffhangerish ending.
I must admit. This was actually quite a fun quick read. I’d recommend.
This book focuses on Steve and Chris. Steve is a federal agent who is on the hunt for an assassinator. He is completely obsessed with the case which was the last straw for his marriage. When Steve finally gets a lead with the case, he jumps on it instantly. What he doesn’t expect throughout the investigation is to discover his attraction to Chris and how he makes him feel alive and free. This was such a great book overall!

Intriguing story. Steve, FBI agent was struggling to apprehend the assassin of two Senators. The assassin was good, leaving no clues. Steve was so focused, his marriage was collateral damage. He gets a clue to the assasin's location and pursues it. Chris, gets the drop on him and is not what he was expecting. They had a connection. Will Steve make his case? Will Chris? Will lines be crossed? Amazing heatbreaking story. Mystery upon the mystery. Good storyline. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This story seemed like the beginning of a longer novel. We get lots of set-up for a very short sexual experience. There were good points--nothing better than a tired FBI agent and a charming assassin of government bad guys! The writer does well enough creating the atmosphere, but there are a lot of cliches. If you want a quick erotic M/M encounter, there are much better ways to get it. I received an ARC from StoryOrigin and left this review voluntarily.
This was one pulse-pounding episode that I hope spawns more of Chris and Steve and their cat-and-mouse escapades. Steve is obsessed with a case, focusing on the assassin that has eluded him until he gets just the break he needs, and then is even more focused on the assassin after he meets him. I definitely need more of the elusive Chris, as much as Steve does.

Steve Carter is an agent with the FBI. He is after the assassin of two senators; Nancy Meyer and Blake Truman. The assassin has avoided capture for several weeks. Barry, his friend and IT guy has finally found some footage that may lead to the identity of the killer. As he chases the clues Chris (possible assassin) shows up at his home. This is where everything gets interesting. This is a mystery, a romance and a seduction. The characters are wonderful and story has you wanting more.
I thoroughly enjoy Harry Applebottom’s short stories and this one did not disappoint. It was different from his usual trope. It was pretty steamy and surprising!
The short story focuses on Steve, a FBI agent who was working on a case of 2 political assassinations while dealing with marriage problems. While following a lead, he happened to be seduced by the assassinator himself. Needless, I’ve said enough. Read the story!!!!
Steve and Chris stroy was different but really good. The tenson and pull between these two was great. I really hope we get more from these two as it seems to be so mush going on. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend this book and Mr. Harry as a great author.

A different style from this author and it was a fast paced intense read. Loved this storyline and the characters have great depth with interesting personalities. A very hot scene was perfectly done and believe more can be added to this storyline.

Harry's stories are always a treat to read. They're short but pack a real seductive punch. Definitely leaves me satisfied and wanting more. Steve and Chris as character interests as well as the overall plot, are worth a longer book. Perhaps we'll see more from them.

This is an interesting read. I had to admit it took me a while to get into it. But soon I was caught up in the intrigue and romance of it all. It is a good story and the relationship between the MCs is hot. Good read.

There is an assassin loose, killing people. People that don’t seem to run in the same groups, places, or even friends, but for some unknown reason, they are tied together. Fit like a puzzle. And Steve, an FBI agent, is out to find the killer. This is a unique, different story.
This is a short, fast paced read. I wish it was longer to find out more about the background of these characters. It leaves you wanting more. Overall a good read.
Seducing Steve was my first read by Harry Applebottom. It is a very fast-paced short story. FBI Steve Carter seems to be just as intriguing as the assassin he's looking for. I really hope there's more to come from Agent Steve.
I loved this book. It was a short story, but it was unique, intriguing, and captivating. I couldn't put it down. Great world building, wonderful characters. Lots of chemistry between Steve and Chris. I recommend picking this one up. 5 stars.
I am aware that this is a work of fiction. However, this book is in no way based in reality. The main character (Agent Steve) fails to adhere to even the most basic standards of behavior for federal agents. Quite frankly, it destroyed my enjoyment of the story.
Steve is FBI. He's after an assassin who killed two senators. When he finds him, he finds out things aren't what he always thought. I really enjoyed this short story.
Boy, that was a short but intense story. Harry gives twists in this one that make you say, Wow! Not to mention a very hot and steamy scene! I enjoyed it and truly hope there is another book to further the adventure that seems to be just beginning for Agent Carter!
