This was cute. Slice of life manga tend to be hit or miss for me, but I liked this one. Ren and Tadaomi are really funny, I love their relationship. I laughed out loud when Tadaomi took off the ankle weights, it reminded me of Rock Lee in Naruto. 😂

Super cute!
Series of little vignettes following 2 childhood friends as they go from "boss and henchman" to boyfriends. The art style and character design is so cute! I love the dynamics between the 2 main characters. I love how dedicated Tadaomi was to Ren! I also enjoyed Ren doing his best to make sure Tadaomi wasn't doing things just because Ren wanted to do them. There's a good balance here.
Definitely a recommend if you're looking for something charming!

Seriously cute slice of life manga. Ren and Tadaomi have been friends since fifth grade when Ren made Tadaomi his henchman. Now in high school, the friendship has evolved to something deeper, not that they quite realise it. Or Tadaomi, the more mature and studious of them, does, but henchmen don’t confess feelings to their bosses. Luckily Ren has a solution: relieve Tadaomi from his position.
The volume consists of one and two page strips from the point of view of Mana, the girl who sits between the boys in class. She observes the friendship evolve, offering advice and lending an ear when needed. She finds Ren frightening at first. He’s not interested in school and has attention span for only Tadaomi. But little by little, she realises how sweet he actually is, even if his affections are a bit clumsy and forceful. He believes himself cool, not realising that the cool one is actually Tadaomi, who will never let Ren know.
The two make a cute pair and I would love to read more, but this seems to be a stand-alone. Art was good.

The story follows their dynamic as classmates in high school, with the usual mix of misunderstandings, awkward moments, and sweet realizations typical of light-hearted highschool BLs.
The chapters are super short, so it’s a quick and easy read when you’re in the mood for something cute. The plot isn’t super deep either, with lots of sweet little moments as Ren and Tadaomi's relationship develops. Perfect for when you want something low-stakes and wholesome to brighten your day!

This was a really fun read!
While the periodic format allows us to see the characters in different scenarios, I do wish this was a normal, longer running series because the comedy and wholesomeness aspect of it were so fun to me and I really wanted to see more of their relationship.
It works perfectly fine and great tho! It's just the kind of dynamic and story I've (unknowingly?) been craving to see more of.
