I’ve lived dozens of lifetimes trying to escape my curse.
Within my heart pulses the spirit of a phoenix. She and I are sick of each other, quite frankly. The Curse of Rebirth that binds us together means we start over from scratch any time she attempts to escape my body.
And by escape, I mean self-immolation. I may be able to wield flame, but each time I do, I risk the phoenix taking it too far and using my body for kindling.
When we are called to Spells Hollow, New York by a spirit from our past, I can hardly dare to hope that we may finally find a solution to the Curse of Rebirth.
But first, fragments of my past lives come to haunt me. A handsome fae with shadows in his silver eyes finds me and says that I’ve been his for lifetimes, but I don’t remember him.
I cross paths with a water-wielding witch has been keeping tabs on my random acts of arson over the centuries. He thinks we’re destined to be anam cara.
And finally there’s the earth dragon shifter, who laid eyes on me and whispered the word mate.
With these three men obsessed with my every move, they follow me to Spells Hollow. Will I find an end to my endless string of lives there, or just another dead end?
Either way, this will end as it began…with fire.
Wildfire Witch is a standalone novel as part of The Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow shared universe series. This is a why choose novel, meaning the main character has more than one love interest and doesn’t choose between them. This book is intended for audiences 18+.
Ella Hendricks is an author of romances with dark roots and steamy twists. She loves getting lost in fantasy worlds, especially if the monsters are naughty and the lady saves the day in the end. When Ella is not writing about swoon-worthy men, she’s off collecting video game achievements. She holds a master’s degree in journalism and lives in Texas with her family.
Good lord poor Nix has in my opinion the worst curse of them all uncontrollable fire that can consume her. But to be reborn with knowledge of your past that got to be the worse of the worst. Awesome installment in this series about cursed witches .
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow adds another fantastic book to the series. Wildfire Witch by Ella Hendricks is the seventh book, and it was so unexpected but in a good way.
My heart goes out to Nix because I think she has the worst curse. She has uncontrollable fire literally burning in her veins, and when it gets to be too much, she dies and gets reborn again with no memories of her past lives and very little clues about what's going on. It was hard for her to trust, it was a relief that she let the guys in as quickly as she did. I loved her guys. Nix has a mixed harem. The three of them are all in from the beginning, they are beyond committed to being with her. One of them was a mate from a previous life, his story was heartbreaking.
This book completely took me by surprise. It felt different but still had all the key things that make it a Spells Hollow story. This book had a big road trip element that I very much enjoyed. There was bonding, planning, snacks, and danger. I assumed that the plot would be all about finding mates and breaking Nix's curse, but that takes a second seat to the criminal organization called the Fire Brotherhood. The mates were the easy part. Nix has enemies. Like a wildfire, this book was nothing but chaos. There were attacks, kidnappings, and fire—loads of fire. Danger and magic were everywhere, Nix and the guys jumping from one situation to the next kept me on my toes.
After all of that, Ella decided she wanted to completely ravage my emotions with a twist that I would not have expected of her. Seriously, authors just love to tug on a reader's soul just for kicks. The story ended on an HFN, but not to worry. I heard that Ella is turning it into a series. Wildfire was just the beginning. I'm curious about what's coming next.
3.5 stars: This review has been a tad difficult to produce as I am still undecided about the book itself. I found the first half really engaging, a witch that has been cursed to merge with her familiar and being reborn in flames without her memories as to how it all began. When another uncontrollable urge f her chaotic magic spurs to life, the main heroine crosses paths with a dashing fae and a water -wielding witch, one of whom turns out to be her actual husband. I really felt for Nix's husband, going through numerous lifetimes searching for your spouse and feeling every single time when she perishes to inly be reborn again. Another solid element here was the actual backstory of the main heroine, her former life coming to the forefront has been delightful to follow - a witch researching alchemy in her quest to master all four elements - loved it.
Despite my distinct interest in the story, I felt that the additional two gentlemen were just that, an addition. I understand that their elements did settle her own uncontrollable fire and without them, she would not have been able to break the curse, but it is difficult to form strong bonds with two new individuals at the same level as the one you have nurtured for a very long time.
I have not read any of the other books in the series, but I did not feel perplexed as to what was happening, so for me at least this is a good standalone story. The writing itself is decent and probably I would try another brook by this author.
This is the seventh book in this shared world of The Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow and its one of my favorites. I was hooked from start to finish. I loved Ella Hendricks take on the curse. I loved the characters. Nyx and her phoenix are both fiesty characters. I loved Nyx's men and the bond they have all created. They created plenty of steam. I think the end was perfect and I wouldn't mind more from these characters. If you haven't checked out the world of Spells Hollow you definitely should.
Another great addition to this series! I loved Nix's story! This was like one great mystery to unravel. I also loved how patient her mates were with her. They were accepting and loving and unwilling to just let her go. This found family quickly banded together in order to protect and save her. The dynamic between Rusty, Cer and Seth was born cure and hilarious! And the spice was spicing! I devoured this story! We also get more info on the original Spells Hollow coven, and I really enjoyed that!
Another installment of Spells Hallow. In this one we get to meet Nix and her feisty phoenix. I really don't want the curse that has been placed upon Nix, no thank you....her mates yes. This book was intense and hot, and we learn some more about the curse around Spells Hallow. I loved it
This plot in this book was really immaculate. I loved the premise even if it was heartbreaking at times. Nix has had it tough and there’s no denying that. But through the love of her guys, Ceridor being a standout for me, made everything better. These stories honestly just keep getting better as the series move on!
Wildfire Witch is the seventh book in The Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow. This is a standalone and ends in a HEA.
This is my first introduction to Ella Hendricks' books. This was absolutely fantastic! Nyx was such a likable character and really felt for her. This is also packed with action, steam, mystery and fantastic character development. I truly enjoyed it.
Well, I know how stupid it is to DNF book after having reading 73% of it but 🤷🏻♀️ I didn't like the storyline anymore as well as the characters... Sorry!
I really loved this book within the Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow universe. This book is slightly different than the rest of them as the main female character, Nix, was actually around for the big showdown with Mofran that happened centuries ago, but since she somehow absorbed her phoenix familiar, Aodhnait, she has died in her own fire and been reborn countless times. But every time she comes back to life, she only remembers parts of her previous life. IN current day Seattle where she felt her destiny lay, she nearly burns down the coffee shop she works at. She meets 2 men who she knows deep down she needs to be with. One of them just happens to be the Fae husband she had in her 1st life, Ceridor, who has been searching for her ever since she died, and the other is his friend Seth. But she is also being chased by the Fire Brotherhood who are led by a dragon who wants to figure out a way to take her phoenix for himself.
When she is captured, she knows she is about to die again – right after being reunited with Ceridor. But a dragon that is actually undercover, Rusty, helps her escape and find the other two. Each of them know that they are her fated mates, and they will do anything to help her get to Spells Hollow to break the curse – even put themselves on the line against not only the Fire Brotherhood but also Mofran.
Loved this book! I really loved how the book ended. I always get concerned when humans end up with mates that are much longer lived and how that ends for the other party, but this tied it up quite nicely.
Wild fire witch was such an amazing story. And I feel like they just keep getting better as the story unfolded, and we find out more about the cures. Nix was such a great character, and I don't know how she survived with just Aodhnait for so long. They have this amazing bond but at the same time are sick of each other till one night when the blood red moon brings her fated mates Ceritor who's a blast from the past and has this amazing wind power and striking good looks that would stop any woman. Then there's Seth, who's a medic and a wiz with water magic and definitely knows just how to use it. Then there's Rusty the dragon shifter. Wow is quite smitten on her and calls her his diamond and has this great ability to make tunnels and has this cheeky side that i just loved. They'll face epic battles, and I feel like this story was a bit more sinister than some of the other story's but I also loved how we got to see her past life shared and who she was before all this happend which made me connect to the character so mush more. There was a lot going on, and I didn't know what would happen to her and I even cried near the end but was also relieved when things turned out ok and the bad guys got what was coming to them but at the same time it was sush a dramatic ending. So I really loved that happy ending. I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens next.
I loved this addition to the Cursed Covens of Spells Hallow, and it definitely pulled at my heart strings more than the others.
Nix has her curse to contend with, but there’s also a whole different plot that actually takes front and center in her life. It stems from her curse, but can also be more dangerous in the sense that desperate people can be the most dangerous. I enjoyed the side story that presented itself as most of the story. It made it seem like her curse didn’t ruin her life per se, just made it more dangerous and difficult. That’s not to say it DIDNT severely negatively ruin her life, but seemed to show that just like the start of their curses, the most dangerous thing you can do is underestimate people with ill intentions.
I also loved the whole traveling and getting to know her men aspect. It wasn’t the main story, but also an (important) side story in of itself. Her memories and figuring out how they fit with the memory of herself and the current version of herself. Along with trusting her instincts from those memories.
I’m so excited to, hopefully soon, see a fully healed Spells Hallow, and hopefully some scenes of the families who decided to stay recreating somewhat of what Melisande had hoped for, for the town.
Wildfire Witch: The Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow by Ella Hendricks is an exhilarating paranormal why-choose romance that you won't want to miss. This standalone entry in a shared universe takes you on a gripping journey as Nix navigates her curse alongside her phoenix Aodhnait, losing pieces of themselves with every new life. Despite their endless cycles, time is running out. Everything changes when Nix encounters a fae who insists he is her husband, and her memories begin to unfold under the light of the blood moon. With the aid of three fated mates, she just might break the curse that has haunted her for over 300 years and finally find the happily ever after she's been longing for.
I LOVED this story! The characters are incredible—Nix is the epitome of strength and sass, and each of her men brings distinct qualities that enhance her journey. The plot is packed with action, as if battling a curse isn’t enough, she also faces relentless enemies determined to claim her phoenix.
If you’re a fan of paranormal why-choose romances brimming with magic, curses, witches, fae, shifters, fated mates, mating, knotting, primal play, and a generous dose of spice, then Wildfire Witch is an absolute must-read!
This next installment in The Cursed Coven of Spells Hallow was scorching! Nyx has a habit going up in flames. Having a phoenix familiar that is trapped inside you can cause that to happen. And each time she goes up in flames, she's reborn with less and less memories of her past. So when she almost flames up at her coffee shop job, she unknowingly finds herself in the path of her past, her fate, and her future. And she'll need these men. Not only does she have a curse she needs to break, but the Fire Bro shifter gang are determined to capture her again. The memories of being held by them in a past life, stuck hard enough that she knows she never wants that to happen again.
This story was complex in the way that Nyx's curse is meant to break her down. She has her familiar as a companion but she never knows how long before she burns up again so her existence is lonely. And she doesn't understand that her curse has impacted someone else.
I liked the elemental magic in this. My favorite part was how Nyx/Verity is connected to Spells Hallow and her unique curse. This made this book stand out in this series.
7th Book in the Cursed Coven of Spells Halloween Series RH Standalone Spice is spicing
Our FMC, Nix, is such an amazing character. It surprised me a me how she survived with just her phoenix for so long. They have an amazing bond but at the same time are sick of each other till one night when the blood red moon brings her fated mates! Finally, right?
Her Mates: Ceritor- A handsome blast from the past with awesome wind power
Seth- A medic with water magic and definitely knows just how to use it
Rusty- A dragon shifter who is smitten with her and calls her his diamond. (Swoon). He has the ability to make tunnels and has a cheeky side. He’s honestly probably my favorite mate.
As with all the books, they face epic battles. This book was a bit more sinister than some of the other story's but I also loved how we got to see her past life shared and who she was before all this happened which made it easier to connect to Nix better. There were some ups and downs, drama, spice, and everything nice. It was an amazing read!
Best book ever! This latest edition to Spells Hollow was a little different. The previous books followed the descendants of Melisande's lovers as they battled to free themselves and their family lines from the curses placed upon them. This one was actually the one of the original cursed witches. Her curse? To be melded as one with her phoenix and to be reborn in the ashes whenever her body overheated from the phoenix fire which happened frequently leaving her with no memories of her previous lives. Until a meeting with a mysterious fae and a water witch when a vision under a blood moon returns her memories and tells her ... return to Spells Hollow. This book really tugged at my heartstrings. Nix (Verity) went through so much and for a time it looked like there would be no HEA for our heroine. I loved her 3 leading men, all so different, a fae, a water witch and an earth dragon but they are exactly what she needs. Although different from the other books it has actually turned out to be one of my favourites and I can see myself re reading this in the future. I 100% loved this book!
From all the books in the shared world of Spells Hollow and the cursed bloodlines, this one was by far my favorite. Nix is cursed in the most cruel of ways, as a former friend of Melisande and very outspoken against Morfran: have her familiar phoenix imprisoned inside her chest, unbalancing and destabilizing her magic, destined to die over and over again only to be born from the ashes again, just like a phoenix; losing more and more memories each cycle. Maybe this time, though she might have a chance to break the curse, having more than one mate balancing her out - but she might pay the ultimate price for that.. It was very enjoyable read, developing fast with just the right amount of tension, drama, and emotional turmoil. All the feelings and characters feel very real, and I felt like a real witness to the event unfolding on the pages. I have a lot of appreciation for all three men in Nix' harem, each of them different but all strongly devoted to the sassy and strong woman they love. And the most maybe I am in awe of Aodhnait. Excellent one.
“Wilfire Witch” is a great addition to the world of Spells Hollow, and the curses placed upon the nine main families that used to live there. I absolutely love the originality of the curse, and how it influences our knowledge about everything that happened in Spells Hollow in the past. I’m reluctant to say this is my favorite book in the series since they are all unique, but it is definitely one of my favorites.
Occasionally I see rec request for why choose storylines where the fmc is already married at the start, and adds new mates afterwards. I’ve always wondered how something like that would work, and this book seems to provide the answers. I love how the author did this, and I admire Ceridor’s desire to accept whatever his wife needs to be happy and healthy. Although a healthy dose of jealousy is never far away either.
I think “Wildfire Witch” is a great standalone, whether you want to read it on its own or as a part of the larger series. It’s great either way!
Ahhh each time I read a book in this series, I think it’s my favorite then I read the next one and I’m like okay now this is my favorite. This one has to be the best so far.
Our FMC is a witch that has been cursed to share a body with her phoenix familiar. Cursed to die again and again, lifetime after lifetime. She was around when the original warlock cursed the town of Spells Hollow. This is the first lifetime since that time that her husband has found her and been around to help her break the curse. His ability to love her and chase her for lifetimes gives my romantic heart such happiness. The 2 men who enter her life and help break the curse truly complete the circle. A kind studious man who fulfills her experimentation side and a strong devoted dragon who’d die to keep her safe.
Such a perfect ending too that ties the original curse and everything that has happened since together.
We certainly get two for the price of one when it comes to Nix when we get the Phoenix living inside her called Aodhnait. We also get three gorgeous men from different backgrounds who become her fated mates. For me, I feel like Nix has one of the worst curses we have seen so far. When her powers heat up, she literally sets on fire and is reborn without any memories other than that of Aodhnait.
At this point in her life, Nix is on the run from the Fire Bros and she will do anything to stay out of their hands. Everyone she looks at could easily be one of her enemies. I love the bonds that are forged between the three mates, they are hilarious together and bring so much to the story. Their love and feelings for Nix are strong, especially Cer.
It was certainly a story packed with so much and I enjoyed every single minute of it. I love the fact that it's action-packed, steamy and a rollercoaster ride.
In life everyone is afraid of dying, how would you like to be cursed that you die and come back over and over for hundreds of years. Yes, you would say great. However, there is so much that happens and to be alone, except for Aodhnait the phoenix bird that Nix's has been cursed with that is literally inside her. Plus, Nix’s has lost most of her memories. She is always running and never safe because the Fire brothers are always tracking her. The leader wants Aodhnait, the phoenix in Nix’s chest to bring back his wife. Then one day Ceridor her husband from her first life found her, along with Seth she thought maybe things would change. You will have to read this well written story to see who Rusty is and how she was taken by the Fire bros. The excitement, the drama, and ending of this story will keep you hooked and reading all the way through because you just can’t put it down.
I loved this book. What an emotional roller coaster! I hate crying but then crying for joy feels so good. I enjoyed reading Wildfire Witch, with Nix and her men; Ceridor, Rusty, and Seth. I kept having the song Hopelessly devoted to you, pop into my head. The devotion these men had for Nix was inspiring; with Ceridor most of all. Not to forget Aodhnait, I have always found phoenixes fascinating and the cursed entangled in Nix, was an interesting spin on the phoenix rising from the ashes.
I devoured the information in this book. We have gotten snips of what happened in Spells Hollow, but with Wildfire Witch we got a deeper look into what happened and the twisted mind of Mofran. Wildfire is a spicy action-packed romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
*Reverse Harem *Paranormal *Multi-1st-PoV *Amnesiac FMC *Fated Mates *Curse *Building Harem (3) *Standalone Good plot! I enjoyed the plot in this book, it was certainly intriguing with having the reincarnation element and that our FMC was not a new face to Spells Hollow - her connection gets revealed as the book goes on 😃 her amnesia makes it difficult to know who to trust, but thankfully the phoenix within her seems to have a better idea of what’s going on! Her fated mates are very individualistic characters making for some feisty moments but they do come together well 😛 there are outside forces that created danger for this harem as they try and revert the curse placed upon Nix 😳 thankfully with some magic they do gain their HEA!
Nix has been cursed to die and be reborn with her familiar phoenix. The agonizing fire she feels inside has cursed her for generations, and fighting it fails to help many times. Now she's called to Spells Hallow in the hopes of riding herself of the curse that has plagued her for so long. And the three men she meets along the way are just an added bonus.
This is by far my favorite book in the series. Nix's story has been the most interesting and captivating and while it has the basic elements of the rest of the series, it stands out on its own. The Curse of Rebirth that Nix endures was one of the more creative plot points I've read in a long time. The addition of her love interests just added that extra kick of spice that took the book to 5 stars.
Another amazing book from Ella Hendricks they always seem to amaze more as I read this series.
I feel for Nix having to deal with this nasty curse as she has to live many lives due to the fire in her veins. As it becomes to much she is reborn. I also feel sorry for her mates as they have to live with this also, as she never remembers her past lives. It’s got to be hard on them also but they love her and stick by her, which makes her trust them and let them into her life.
In this book you are definitely kept on the edge of your seat as there is so much that happens. There is definitely lot of bonding and danger, as the stories get further on trying to break the curse gets a back seat as they are dealing with an organisation fire brotherhood, who are criminals.
Wildfire Witch was one of my favorite reads from The Cursed Coven of Spells Hollow series! Each standalone has their own unique take on a cursed witch trying to discover a break from said curse while also finding men who are devoted to them. In Wildfire Witch, readers are introduced to Nix, a witch cursed to die and be reborn over and over due to the phoenix residing inside her. The two do not get along, but this leads for some interesting moments throughout the story. When Nix returns to Spells Hollow, she meets three men who creates a fire in her more than her phoenix. Tons of heated moments follow, that's for sure. All in all, this was an addicting read from start to finish, and I look forward to continuing to dive further into the world of Spells Hollow!

Nix's curse from Spells Hollow has left her bound to a phoenix. Her stories takes us from one coast to the other with three hunky elemental shifters to try and break it.
As always, I love unusual supes, and there's plenty here, not just with Nix, but the particular types of her men are a little unusual as well, as are her particular links with each of them.
I loved the adventure racing across the country, and the dangers they face, and it comes to a very satisfying conclusion.
One thing I love about shared universes is seeing the other stories reflected and followed up, and there's a hint in this one that all the threads are pulling together, and I can't wait to see how it all ends!
I love that Wildfire Witch explains the Orgin story of all the curses from Spells Hollow. Nix is Cursed by having her phoenix apart of her heart and that causes her to die and come back to life for centuries. Her Husband Ceridor a Wind Fae and bonded from the OG life has been hunting for her and has finally found her along with Seth her Anam Cara or Soul friend who completes her and her new Mate the earth dragon Rusty. These three are the answer to her breaking her Curse so she can be separated from Aodhnait her phoenix. And also get rid of the crazy dragon that has been after her for years.
Everytime I finish one the Cursed Coven books I'm like nah this is defo my new favourite one and it's happened again! Nix is a witch from the Original Coven not a descendant unlike the other stories in tje series , and because of this i felt a stronger link from her to Melasendre than the other books have. I struggled to put this one down with a sassy phoenix, charming fae, nerdy he-witch and a broody dragon. There's so much drama and action in this story it's edge of your seat stuff and the heat between the characters is so pure I loved loved loved this book!! I don't know what else to say other than- go read it!! (And the rest obv) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶🌶🌶
