Zenobia is struggling to move on after the devastating loss of her boyfriend, Damien. Her dreams become her strange escape, where she meets Ritz— a man who brings back feelings of love she thought were lost. Their bond grows deeper within every dream, but when Zenobia encounter him in real life, the lines between her dreams and reality blur. As her past begins to resurface, Zenobia starts to uncover secrets about herself that have been hidden for too long. What she discovers will change everything she thought she knew about her life.
“Don’t Wake Me Up” is a mysterious and captivating journey into love and the untold forces shaping their lives.
This was different with attention grabbing suspense and some supernatural elements. Zenobia was put through the wringer but she came out on top. Don’t play with the dream couple 😏.
This book had me from the very beginning. I did not see any of these plot twists coming. Damien was trash, and I hated how he played Zenobia. Ritz was definitely book bae and wasn't playing about Zenobia. Zenobia and Ritz were a force once they got together. This book had me not knowing who to trust as well as who was gonna actually be the good guy in the end. A great book that will keep you on your toes.
This book was a bit different for me. I’m not normally into paranormal books. It did get a bit confusing but overall it was pretty good and now I just might have a new favorite genre
I like reading paranormal books, I enjoy reading urban books, and I love reading romance books. When I saw “Don’t Wake Me Up” was all three, I immediately downloaded it. This is the first book by Myia White that I’ve read, so I didn’t really know what to expect.
“Don’t Wake Me Up” has a lot of potential to be a really, really good novel. As a novella, I still liked it but I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if it were longer, and we got to dive even deeper into the characters’ backgrounds and motives. I was kinda confused on why the Big Bads wanted the powers. They explained it multiple times, but it didn’t make sense and was convoluted. The ending also felt a bit rushed.
The first few pages of Zenobia’s first chapter broke my heart, and the first few paragraphs of Damien’s first chapter made my mouth drop. My heart broke all over again for Zenobia. Myia did a great job of depicting Zenobia’s grief. You could tell Zenobia loved Damien a lot.
We get a bit of time with Zenobia and Ritz but not enough to make me root for them out of the sheer fact that their love is beautiful. I was rooting for them solely because I didn’t like Damien’s ass. Ritz seemed like a good guy but all we really get about Zenobia and Ritz’s relationship is that there’s an unexplainable pull and contentment between them.
I still recommend reading “Don’t Wake Me Up”, but know that some things aren’t fully fleshed out.
It’s a quick read, but know this…everyone has powers. Powers you can use for good or evil. Sometimes people can see your powers, grow envious and do everything to take what you have. If you’re sure of yourself, you’ll always stand in your truth and do the right thing.
Myia!!!! Ma’am this is my first read of yours & im stuck with ya. The twist & turns & chain of events had me shooketh!!!! My girl Zee went through a lot really fast & for what??? The way they lied to her then attempted to manipulate her had my head spinning. Ritz was my guy & I knew Damien was full of BM 😉 great read!
I’m a fan of Myia White’s books and anticipated this paranormal written by her! Don’t Wake Me Up showcases White’s versatile writing style and imagination. This is an unique urban supernatural must read!
This story was so good!! It’s a short read but there are so many twists and turns, I was wrapped up in the story from the first chapter and couldn’t put it down.
