Lucy has finally come home after graduating from university. No boyfriend, no job, and back living with her mum. At least she has her best friend Annie to rely on. Until they arrive home a little tipsy, and Annie's dad helps them into the house. Lucy's known Rich for years, so why it is that she's seeing him in a whole new, very sexy, light?
Rich has known Lucy for years, best friend to his daughter Annie since they were little. So why is it now that she's back from uni Rich can see something else in Lucy that he's never noticed before? And why is it driving him crazy with lust?
It wasn't meant to be anything serious. An affair. Two people who just wanted to be with each other in the heat of the moment.
Until something else took over. Something more. It became something to tear their worlds apart. With a friendship and a parent/child relationship hanging in the balance, can love conquer all?

Just Between Us is an age gap, older man and younger woman, forbidden contemporary romance, about falling in love with your best friend's dad.
It was my first time reading a book by this author. I liked it. The chemistry between Rich (MMC) and Lucy (FMC) was there. But, I wished there were more spicy scenes and more story development. As for the epilogue, I wished it was written in either Rich's POV or Lucy's POV or both. Nonetheless, it was still a good ending to the book. If you enjoy reading best friend's father romance books, you might enjoy reading this book.
"Just Between Us" is a super cute little age gap romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. The story revolves around Lucy, who has just returned home after graduating from university and is staying with her mum. Things take an unexpected turn when she starts seeing Annie's dad, Rich, in a new light.
While the story isn't very long, it packs in a lot of emotion and tension, making it a delightful read for those who enjoy a mix of romance and drama.
My first... hate read? Truly terrible. Thought the POV from both characters would be fun but instantly hated them both from the get go. Lucy is an unreliable narrator and Rich... ick? There were also typos and mistakes throughout which were distracting and hard to ignore. The Epilogue was so stupid. 1.5 stars as I enjoyed reading back my own rage filled notes/highlights after I finished the book. Nice that it was a short read.
One of the notes from p39 - "This conversation is actually insane"
This short story was perfectly short and sweet Love is love and you can’t help who you fall for and this was beautifully done The chemistry between the main characters is hot the way they feel for each other is lovely to read about
I didn’t think I was going to like this story. But it was really good. Spice was done well. I could relate to the characters even though I’ve never been in this situation. My only complaint is, it wasn’t long enough. Great short read, I definitely recommend.
[Book Quote] Everything about the contact had been loaded with sexual tension. It had to be the drink talking because there was no way that man was interested in me. I was his kid’s best friend. He was very clearly out of bounds.
The book was well-written, and well edited. I liked the characters for the most part - they did occasionally get on my nerves. Duncan is a really good writer, the book was well paced and flowed well. spoilers ahead
I have mixed feeling about this book. I love an age gap and I don't have issues with the best friend's dad. I think my issue was how many times they mentioned the age the girls became friends and then him calling himself a dirty old man. After about the fourth time I began to agree. Duncan tells us the girls went away to uni so it stands to reason that she changed quite a bit from high school. I don't know that I would read it again anytime soon but it is something I would recommend to someone looking for this trope.
It was okay. They felt the spark after seeing each other again and got involved together. What bothered me more is that they waited six months to tell Annie, his daughter, and her best friend, that they were dating.
Best friends dad!!! Who doesn’t love a bit of controversy. This was a good read, it wasn’t a bit predictable but doesn’t take anything away from the story
