UNDERCOVER LOVE

Harris and Woodley have the best kind of relationship. Neither wants a partner, commitment, or any of the boundaries that come with it. For them, it’s all about great sex and a little companionship.

Until Harris decides to make himself bait for the nefarious Noah Group who’d captured and performed experiments, including genetic manipulation, on Harris and his twin sister, Jennifer.

Woodley’s pissed off at the members of the Fire Lake team for allowing Harris to put himself in such extreme danger, and finds he has an unknown deep and wide protective streak, which angers him even more.

Now he’s a love-struck sap, not the former US Marine and detective who’d volunteered for, and enjoyed the hell out of, the most perilous assignments.

And he’s scared to death he’s going to lose the man who’s made him feel this way.

Don’t miss out on this chapter of the Fire Lake team’s lives and loves. You have to buy this book!

Your support and kind words have taken me from being a new author who was unsure and panicked to an author with over twenty books under her belt. Okay, I’m still unsure and panicked, but I’m a work in progress. (Takes a sip of wine.)

I love sharing my stories with you and hearing how my characters have touched you and how you’ve cheered them on, cried with them, and even wanted to knock some sense into a few. Your encouragement has inspired me to continue on my writing journey. All the late nights, missed events, and looming deadlines have been worth it, knowing these stories have entertained and

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I thought this was another good addition to the Fire Lake Series. I enjoyed this book and I thought that Harris and Woodley were great together, and their chemistry was off the charts. They were definitely deluding themselves that they could keep things casual between them. I think most of it was because they both believed they were on borrowed time due to working towards taking the Noah Project down once and for all. I’ve read each of the books in the series but it took still took me a bit to work out who was who, as there was a lot of new characters mentioned.

The found family that they’ve created keeps on growing each book. I love the suspense aspect of these stories. I just love this found family that they’ve created, and that they’d do absolutely anything for each other if needed. I enjoyed the snippet of the next book Ghost, which made me even more interested in reading it when it’s released but I’m a bit sad that it’s the last book. I’ll definitely be doing a re-read of all the books after I’ve finished reading it. I’d recommend this book, series and author to others.

Harris and Woodley have a - sex with no-strings arrangement. They don’t do feelings, but that aspect isn’t working well. However, neither will admit that their strings are knotted. When Harris plans on what looks like a suicide mission, something shifts. It’s a good thing Harris has special abilities – he’s going to need them.
Harris sees the welcome Return of the Fire Lake Series, whose team are comprised of Navy SEALs and others who had connections to the infamous Noah Group. Harris is book eight with one remaining of the series. I enjoyed the story, but I felt it was the calm before the potential big finish of book nine.
The story is told in the third person from the viewpoints of Harris and Woodley. Worldbuilding has evolved over the previous seven books, and in this instance, the Fire Lake Crewe go after a foe they’ve encountered before. On the way they find more Noah Project survivors who I’m sure will come into their own in future adventures.
Harris and Woodley’s respective pasts ensure they are each other's band-aid to their boo-boos, and because both are in denial, their journey towards full emotional realization needs more than the occasional elbow in the ribs. Because they are the features of this story, the author kindly provides them, but I’m not going to spoil any enjoyment by going into details.
Regarding the overall tale, I get the impression that this story is calm before the storm because among the odd flourish of action parallel to surveillance and intel-gathering research, more Noah survivors are found, and others come into their specialisms. It’s like the gathering of the forces. I get that a good mission is backed by sound research, but the Fire Lake team are so efficient that it almost takes the heart-beating sting out of the final encounters.
The story was a good filler for things to come, and there were some sweet moments. However, I hoped for more than it delivered. I wanted my heart in my mouth, and it rarely blipped.

One more book to go in this series. Why I've stuck with it, I don't know. There's a germ of a good idea in there but the characters are so flat and read so interchangeably that I feel like each book is a retread of the last.

In this one, Harris and Woodley have been having a friends with benefits relationship, but things turn serious when Harris and the Fire Lake team come up with a plan for Harris to be kidnapped by the bad guys so they can take the Noah Project from within. But when the sudden appearance of another survivor wrecks that plan, they step back and reassess. Instead they go after the the leader of a new offshoot in New Orleans... only to find a couple more mysteries.

Not great, but at least there's one more to go. This series has gone downhill from the early books.

#8. Harris by M. Tasia
5 another great book and almost the final story of the series.
The Lake Fire series continues with Harris and Woodley’s romance.
A best friend with benefits romance that goes with both falling in love.

Both characters are great and care deeply for each other until a mission puts Harris in danger.
Woodley was a Detective on a break to help try to stop the Noah Group from creating men with altered DNA with special powers. He had a past with the group that left him with baggage of relationships because of what happened to his dad.
Harris had telepathic and telekinetic abilities and was also a survivor from the group which makes a perfect bait for the group to shut them down.
As per the other books in the series there are dramas and dangers but also love. We meet a man who they nicknamed ghost in this as well as Darren with his super cool powers (I can’t wait to read the next story).
While the guys had their fun chasing down the bad guys associated with Solomon they also had a few laughs. It was good that Woodley finally admitted his feelings for Harris.

Another winner in the Fire Lake series

M. Tasia has woven yet another wonderful story set in the world of Fire Lake. Harris and Woodley are both sympathetic, easy to like characters joining the Fire Lake team fighting the forces of evil. The romance is hot, the suspense is gripping, and the paranormal elements are so well done as to be almost real. The story is a real treat and I am already looking forward to the next one!
