This is a dark and emotionally charged fantasy that explores the fine line between redemption and ruin. Once a champion of justice, Kemp is now corrupted by the Dragon Crown’s magic, threatening to destroy everything he once fought for. As the realm teeters on the edge of collapse, Gunnar must confront the legacy of his father’s vengeance, while Ruiha embarks on a perilous quest to awaken ancient dragons who may hold the key to saving Kemp. With friendships strained and loyalties tested, this installment deepens the saga’s themes of grief, duty, and the seductive pull of power.
I'd love to leave a great review. But there's no time. I have to start the next book immediately.
Very good read. I like the story, the characters, and plot. Just when you think that Kemp is about to get his comeuppance, a twist. Just when it seems good is getting ahead, something shifts. Super cool. Keeps me engaged always.
The first 3 books could have been condenced into 2 and they would have been much better. The author used a lot of descriptions so many times, it felt like reading the same paragraph twice. This book has more action and story than the others. Looking forward to reading number 5 now.
Skipping books 5 and 6 of 7 because I am tired of reading the overused of phrases how the underground caverns and the responsibilities are weighing the characters down, the main characters constant struggle with their fears, the overuse of the word "palpable", "malevolent", and "cold spine tingling" sensations.
I seriously hope you have the next installment ready soon. The first four books were sooo good. The blending of the main characters is great. Cannot wait to see how this will turn out. The stakes are high. Not everyone can come out of this a winner.
It seems as though the copy and pasting of parroting of recent events and descriptions is waning somewhat. And thankfully, a better editor has been employed! As I head to the final book in the series, I am overjoyed to see it become more polished.
Thank God it's over. Although, this is probably one of the more interesting of the books, just because of the dragons. Anwyn is still underdeveloped and boring. The author still over uses words and phrases. I'm not sure after this wordy, monotonous adventure that I would care to pick up other readings from this author.
