In a world where chaos swirls and destinies intertwine, Oscar, a once-ordinary young wooden troll, reluctantly finds himself engulfed in a great adventure.
Such a cute story of the trolls created by Thomas Dambo. I visited all 5 in my area of Washington State last spring…reading this makes me want to go visit them again!
I live in the PNW and the Thomas Dambo trolls have been the source of a lot of talk and trips since they were built in 2023. Since they are only guaranteed for 3 years, I have been to the one by us several times, and just have 2 more to go; the ones on the islands. They are beautiful and breathtaking and a lot of fun. When I heard there was a book about their story, and that the library carried it, I knew I had to read it. This story follows Oscar on his journey to find the Bird King. Those that know of the trolls, already know the spoiler at the end. On his way there he meets all the other PNW trolls, as well as some others, and it is fun to envision how the trolls are meant to be as characters. I did not think the writing was amazing. It was a quick, fun read and there were some parts I really liked, and some parts I didn't care for as much. If you enjoy the trolls, and especially live in the PNW with the trolls built here, I think it is worth the read.
