Demon x Witch dark romance/erotic horror. This novella was very unhinged, and I liked that. Dark romance lovers will enjoy this fast-paced book.
Female Narrator Performance: 5/5
Ava Monroe absolutely nailed this audiobook. Great emotion, intensity, and embodied the characters very well. Her performance was sexy and well-suited for spicy dark romance.
Male Narrator Performance: 3/5
Will Rose's narration in this audiobook was not my favorite. I felt that his performance was inconsistent. Certain chapters, I felt, were well executed and tonally appropriate for dark romance; in others, his tone seemed a little too high-pitched and 'peppy' for my taste. His performance seemed most at odds with the story in the early chapters, which was challenging for me as a listener trying to pick up the vibe of the book. In later chapters, and especially the epilogue, he fit his voice to the story much better.

To my comments above, I would add that the editing and sound design were very clean.

If you’re looking for spicy little novella to sink your teeth into this Halloween, pick up Scaredy Cat! I had the honor of reading this as an ARC and I devoured it whole in one sitting!!! These character Stacey and Zach were intense. Zach was the unhinged Demon-Daddy and Stacey the sweet innocent little witch who was waiting for someone to ring her bell. (If you know what I mean😉). When the dedication ended with “Grab your candy corn and vibrator. Halloween isn’t finished, but I hope you do.” You know you’re in for a wild ride!!
This novella is super spicy and had me in the edge of my seat. Zach is unhinged and his determination to get his girl in unmatched. This game of cat and mouse had me wanting more, so much more I couldn’t put it down. I had to know what happened.
But this super spicy Dark-paranormal romance is definitely worth the read this Halloween season!!! 👻🌶️

Received an ARC with a request for an honest review in return.
When I think sexy, spicy novella I really don't expect much plot. But this book delivered. The author did an amazing job right from the beginning, introducing the FMC and MMC through their own POVs. Each switch in POV added more depth, more personality, and built up the plot with emotional depth. I didn't expect to read this and connect with how nervous the FMC was, or how desperate the MMC was. That connection established before the spice made it much hotter to read the prey and hunter scene. The plot progression was unexpected and kept my attention riveted to the book. It wasn't just a smutty novella, it was a whole story. A witch preyed on by a demon who seeks a soul, and her descent to darkness. That just happens to have spice sprinkled in.
I'd probably give the book a spice to plot ratio of 35 to 65%. And as for darkness, personally I'd consider the MMCs actions to be a lighter shade of black, just a step below morally gray.
100% will read again and I am glad I already preordered a copy.

Wooooooow!! I have no idea what Pandora has put in these 108 pages but I was hooked!! I can now say I am a demon girlie 🤭

Pandora Cress outdid herself with this Halloween novella! It is a dark romance so check your triggers! However, it is perfect for this time of year! A witch who doesn’t know she’s a witch and a demon who just wants to live and how they are or can be intertwined! It was well done and amazing! I highly recommend!

Are you looking for a short book that is completely unhinged, takes place on Halloween, and has an extensive trigger warning list? Have you ever wanted to read a story about an obsessed demon and his quest to get the girl? Do you want to read something super spicy where the MMC may or may not have a forked tongue and piercings…well, in a certain place? Then Scaredy Cat is absolutely for you. Check the trigger warnings because this book won’t be for everyone. It is for those of us who love the dark romances and those who think the longer the trigger warning list the better. This book is for those of us who enjoy reading a book that, when you are finished, you just sit there and say WTF.
Oh Zach, my demented demon MMC. If he wasn’t a demon, you might really hate him. But honestly, he acts like a demon that is on a mission. My absolute favorite thing about him is his taste in vehicles. I would possibly climb in the car with Zach if he pulled up to me in a 1955 Mercedes Gullwing. Stacey really didn’t stand a chance once he set his sights on her. She was in search of something (well something specific) and it did cloud her judgement slightly. As soon as Zach caught her, you knew he was not going to let her go and Stacey didn’t really fight too hard to get free from him.
Scaredy Cat was a short, dark, spicy novella that is just in time for Halloween. It’s a story where the MMC was morally black (he was literally a demon) and the FMC seems a little naïve at times but really isn’t. There are definitely some scenes that will not be good with everyone, and if so, don’t read. But I enjoyed this dark, demonic romance. It was a quick read and really just a fun, yet kind of messed up story. I love the books I have read by Pandora Cress. She does not disappoint with the entertaining, spicy books.

This was such a perfect read for Halloween. Can I just say how much I love Zach?! I can finally say I have another favorite demon daddy aside from her souls trilogy. This was soo good and I want more pandora, you’re not playing fair with making this a novela 😭. Zach’s determination and Stacey’s dedication was unmatched. It was definitely a game of Cat and mouse and I was living for it 🤭. Please make sure to read trigger warnings since this is a dark romance novela, your mental health matters most 🫶🏼

This was such a perfect read for Halloween. Can I just say how much I love Zach?! I can finally say I have another favorite demon daddy aside from her souls trilogy. This was soo good and I want more pandora, you’re not playing fair with making this a novela 😭. Zach’s determination and Stacey’s dedication was unmatched. It was definitely a game of Cat and mouse and I was living for it 🤭. Please make sure to read trigger warnings since this is a dark romance novela, your mental health matters most 🫶🏼

I loved how fast-paced this novella was and even though it's short, it still has a plot… and a lot of spice! The dedication definitely reached the right audience!
The tail! Oh my god!! That was one of the hottest things I've read. I think that I've been missing a demon in my bed.

Oh My Demon what a BOOK🥵🥵🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. This was a perfect Halloween/spooky season novella. It has supernatural aspects and I loved that about it. Witches, demons, dealing in souls with the devil. You know all the good stuff!
I didn’t read the trigger warning as I usually don’t because I like to be surprised at what comes up. You however dear reader should at least check and see if anything is triggering to you because it does have some dark subjects.

Scaredy Cat is a harrowing fast-paced novella tale about Stacey, a witch who doesn’t know she has any powers at all and has never even had an 0rgasm, and Zach, a centuries old demon who has been hunting down a way to trick the devil out of keeping Zach in he!l which just happens to be Stacey’s powers. Full of adrenaline, spice, romance, spooky season vibes, and more!
This is my second read by Pandora and she’s certainly good at what she does. This was a great novella both in early and finished stages and I love it. Definitely a recommended read for anybody that wants a hot halloween read that won’t take you too long to read. And the open ending for possible continuation had me on my toes!! Can’t wait to see what Pandora does next. Go check it out!

3.5 stars- This is a quick read being released just in time for Halloween! If you’re looking for a smutty dark paranormal Halloween romance involving stalking, a masked demon, lots of trigger warnings, and a girl that is down for a chase, this is for you! I felt like I wanted a bit more out of the characters when it came to development but also understand there is only so much you can pack into a novella. It felt slightly rushed to me, but I still think it’s worth the read if you want a quick smutty Halloween story. As I mentioned, this is a dark romance, so make sure you check the troupes/triggers before reading! Thank you Pandora Cress for giving me the opportunity to read Scaredy Cat prior to the release date (today - 10/24/24). Check it out!

Omg this was one of the best short books I've ever read! I had no idea what to expect. When one of the triggers was inappropriate use of a demon tail, I had to read this. It did NOT disappoint. If you want a fun, super smutty and dark read, this is it.

The book starts in a coffee shop where a man listens to a conversation between a small group of women. The man believes he has found his one within the group; the one who can save him from the hell he has willingly placed himself in. I cannot say much more about this book without giving away any spoilers. Just know that you will not be disappointed if you were to pick up this book.
I would have rated this closer to a 4.5, but Goodreads does not allow for that. This novella is completely worth the read!

I didn't know much about this book before diving in. I just knew that Pandora Cress in a fantastic author so I was gonna read it regardless.

Anyway ✨ loved the book, the smut, the plot but... not the witch.
I thought it was gonna be about her and embracing her powers through a good fuck but yeah, no.
What happened after he fucked the soul out of her, she just went back to "save me, hot demon" while it could've gone "I'm so gonna kick everyone's ass now"
I mean, I did like it and I do recommend it ✨
I think it could benefit from an additional epilogue to show her more.
There's a lot to enjoy, and the quotes you'll find will make you laugh and turn you on like crazy ✨

This was a quick, fast paced read that pulled me in and had me wanting more.
I absolutely loved the whole "she never had an orgasm before" wanted to jump outside the box and try being chased. The things you do for an orgasm hey.
It was refreshing to have friends that were worried for her.
Stacey wasn't a scardey cat, even when she "was".
The characters were great, I loved how Stacey learnt so much in a short space of time and loved to surprise Zach. I would absolutely love to know more about them!
