Wow, all I can sum up is wow this got dark. I thought for a sec that Shay was the enemy then the other friend was making moves on Tobias (which she was) and that sent me down a whole spiral because Arya did reject him. And then is Arya going to stay with enemies who are possibly not enemies anymore??? It was a great look at the other side of the battle, how wicked everyone turned and how much everyone treated their bonds. The last chapter was heartbreaking for Arya I’ll admit it stung that didn’t work out the way she needed and cursing because I need the next book! But here for it, loved it and I was glad that some got their vengeance while others still have theirs coming….. can’t wait!

Lots going on with this continuation of an exciting story involving the academy , it's staff the military and of course the witches.
The story starts where the last ended.
I liked that most of the story evolves around Shea and her encounters. Her rescue mission to save not only Julian , but also Arya. And then the additional people who want to get out of the nightmare they are living.
I loved the interaction between Shea and the people she needs to rescue. Of course nothing goes as plan. Obstacles are needed to be hurtled.
Shea does thing she is forced into . Loved her development of her magic. It comes in handy many times.
Rainbow is also there to support them.
I loved how Julian got his revenge with Margarite.
Ashlyn is asked to stay at the dome to monitor the progress or lack of. She does her own thing with the help in an unexpected source.
Well thought out. Action throughout. I loved the mysteries and intrigue. And of course the huge cliffhanger at the end of this book. Can't wait to see what happens next. Where do they go from here? How will they deal with Arya's father with his new powers?.

Deadly Alliances (Dark Shifter Academy Book 5) ~~ This book was pure chaos in the absolute best way. Enemies become allies, allies become traitors, and the whole foundation of the Academy shakes. The danger is nonstop — battles, betrayals, and choices that rip you in half.
The emotional damage in this book should come with a warning. The relationships get tested to the limit, and there’s one moment that actually made my eyes sting — yes, I almost cried. The war that’s been building finally breaks open and the losses hit deep.
Everything feels bigger now — bigger battles, bigger consequences, and bigger heartbreak. I was literally holding my breath the entire last quarter of the book. And the cliffhanger? Brutal. Immediately clicked Book 6.
I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself — you won’t regret it.

Holy Tension Batman
This book had so many moving parts with so many characters being up front and center. That ending was super cruel.....I need to know what the end game is and how this will all finish because the tension is just too much.
Arya is taken back to dear old Dad's compound of nightmares. She finds out she has a half sibling who is only 8. Julian is still being held by that wicked vampire. She runs into that traitorous mer. There are several attempted rescue missions.
Getting to know some of these characters better has left me with so many questions. I hate Tobias's father and Arya's as well. They are both terrible and think they are better than everyone.
I feel like there must be something very specific between these two bad guys. It feels very personal against the Dracul line. I also wonder if Arya can find a way for her and To ias to be together and happy.
I absolutely do not want to wait for the next book. Ugh

Arya left the Dome with Hadrian in return ending his attack. Heritage Prep is nothing like Arya imagined and neither is her father. She expected him to be cold and cruel. Instead, his warm, loving attitude makes her wonder if he is the father she always wanted.
Tobias is stopped from chasing Arya by his father but is determined to rescue her. He isn’t the only one ready to mount a rescue assault on the vampire school. Shea and Caesar intend to rescue Julian but their plan places Shea in the heart of danger.

This is the fifth instalment in one of the best shifter series I've read in a while and with each book the overall plot just gets better and more interesting. First off it has to be read in the sequence of stories otherwise you won't have the faintest idea of what is going on and besides a series must be read in order.
Love the whole idea of the shifter college and the characters are simply wonderful and that whole love triangle is incredibly delicious to watch play out.

Ayra sacrifices herself and goes with Hadrian. At his school she finds out she has a brother, Alex. She also finds out that her father wants her blood to use to make hybrids. This book is very actioned packed and a lot happens. Julian, Tobias and Char are captured and Shea and the others find a way to free everyone. However during their attempt to escape Ayra loses her brother so she has to go alone with her friends. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

Deadly Alliances (Dark Shifter Academy Book 5) By: Tricia Barr. Book five take us where we left off in book four. The adventure continues and Arya has discovered she has a little brother Alex a human . Tobias joined the military to rescue Arya but instead is held captive. Shea will risk it all to rescue Julian. It’s a rescue mission for all and yet Hadrian has accomplished his goal to get Arya Blood . It’s a nonstop fantastic read . Can’t wait for the next book..

Interesting series! Fun danger and a bit of action. I enjoy the relationship dynamics too.; characters do make some seriously annoying choices, but I have hope that they will eventually realize what needs to happen for the best outcome. Looking forward to reading the next book; these characters are still in a really rough spot.

The 5th book in the Dark Shifter Academy series was my absolute favorite so far!! The action in this book was definitely ramped up and I am here for it!! Shae was my favorite character in this book. Her development as a witch was fantastic to read. And the ending left it open for the next book to go absolutely anywhere. Can’t wait for the next book in March.

This is a great continuation to this series, and boy is there A LOT going on in this story. I like that the romance took aback seat this book, because I feel it would have been out of place given the setting. I'm enjoying the characters development and seeing them grow into who they are supposed to be.

What an incredible story, I am amazed at all that went on and how it all concluded (even though there is still one more to go!). I love how Rainbow comes to the rescue yet again and all the different storylines are coming to a head!

Deadly Alliances is another great installment of the Dark Shifter Academy series. Tricia knocked it out of the park once again with this thrilling tale of pain, vengeance and more! It's intense, suspenseful and at times anger inducing. Great read!
