A bit instalove-y but I liked it

This definitely had a very fast turnaround from the "hatred" and 'they're enemies' vibes of the opening couple of chapters.

But, even though it was a bit too instalove-y I still found that I liked the story, although there were plot holes that never got explained throughout.

The bad guy was a bit of a drip, how about why he loaned Fighter money in the first place is a mystery and the secondary plot with Mark fizzled out without a proper resolution.

Still, not as many assassins in this one and I was still left bemused by the fact Brick apparently didn't know his boss' twin brother even though he (Brick) was the silent partner in Cobalt Security.

Oh and we got head hopping again! This time, along with "Narrator style" plot directives. Not good.

I loved the first half of this book and was thrilled to be back in this world because it's been a minute since I read an MM book. The second half got overly sweet and sappy and not what I expected from Knightley's heroes. I'm hoping Syn and Bishop get their badassery on in the next book.

No regrets

“He’d found his home in this man’s arms.” Enemies to lovers is so much fun to read, and watching two stubborn men fall for each in spite of themselves is a treat. It took me a bit to warm to Brick but he more than earned his spot as the forever love of Fighter, who is a complete sweetheart, through and through. I adore the family they’ve become and how they ferociously protect it.

Without Regrets is book 4 in the Colbalt Security Series. This one follows Brick who we’ve met in previous books but have not learned much about and boy is there so much more than meets the eye with him. This one starts off just like any Reese book- action packed, has you devouring this in one day! Reese does the found family so well, they always have each others backs, one of the reasons I love military/ black ops/ bodyguard books. I love that she incorporates some old favorites from previous books, it always hits me in the feels (yes I love all aspects of nostalgia!) She’s great at setting up the next book with glimpses throughout and I look forward to seeing what happens between those two!
*I want to thanks Reese for the opportunity to read and review this book, this is my honest opinion*

Reese Knightley, to quote her, writes about “elite teams of operatives”. Some active duty, some former military, a few law enforcement, throw in some bodyguards. Since July of 2018 she has published 27 action packed MM romantic suspense books about her teams. Infinity, Phoenix, Cobalt Security and Pegasus.
Without Regrets is Book4 of Cobalt Security and veers more away from the black ops and into the bodyguard world. Tyler (Trace) Brick III, a former Marine and Operative at Cobalt Security has trust issues stemming from the fact that every man he ever has dated has ultimately been more interested in his billions than in the man Trace is. Arthit Suwan (Fighter) is the owner of Suwan Guardians, a rival company that has no where near the resources of Cobalt, not to mention that Fighter grew up dirt poor on the streets and has no respect for rich boys playing at this business.
To say they get off on the wrong foot is an understatement. While Fighter languishes in jail for punching out Trace, Fighter’s number 2 comes to Cobalt to hire them because he says Fighter has a stalker he won’t acknowledge and Trace begins to realize just how far in financial straight Suwan is. Will these two set their difference aside to save Fighter’s business, keep his sister’s kids safe and build a relationship?
This story can be read a standalone although some MCs from other books do show up. But these four series are interconnected and you will fall in love with all of her guys. Start at the beginning with Ricochet and find the reading order on Reese’s website.

Contains: enemy to lovers, rich/poor, competitors agency, investigations, stalker, combat skill, "kinda single-dad"with young kids .

You know when the book start with a stabbing problem, get on your nerve guy and a dreadful visit to the hospital and hum jail, well you know it's going to be a gem.

I. Couldn't. Put. It. Down.

This book is a huge page turner, full of action, and weird love... The kind of love that makes you do awful things without understanding the underlying emotions, like pulling a girl's ponytail in school... but all that while being an adult with a lot more dangerous... hum, skills.

You quickly get used to the idea that these two might be rivals, but you can't resist and quickly fall for them both. As these two bicker, learn to accept each other, learn to accept help; as these two grow closer, as these two open up, as these two give each other a chance, beautiful things will happen. But that doesn't erase the past.

Secrets don't mix well in a relationship, but this relationship is fragile and trust is thin: do they trust each other enough to know and accept the truth? Can they trust each other? Will they find the villain in the story? And if so, will he live to tell the tale hahaha?

Oh Yeah, action fanatic, dive in, and flip the pages. You'll be carried away, amused and completely obsessed. You'll be hooked. You'll laugh. You'll be amazed. A good stride of emotions and actions of all kinds, compassion, humor, family, team.
All in for a good ride.

I really liked this story. I understood Fighter's being mad enough to stab Brick when he had insulted him by offering money for the night and then you realize that Brick had such bad experiences with people only wanting him for his money and he misunderstood a flippant remark from Fighter. At first it seemed that they would never be able to even talk to each other and then Brick was able to stop a invasion of Fighter's office/home that had threatened not only him but his niece and nephew and that was the beginning of the thaw. I was shocked to find out that the creep Allen Cook was a cousin of Brick and then so happy that Brick and his brother and colleagues were to frighten him so he had to leave and that the money that Fighter owed him(actually borrowed from his own mother who was Brick's favorite aunt)was to be paid back and Fighter would no longer have that burden. I was not surprised that Mark turned out be such a rat and that the lawyer was just as bad. Loved the solution for the two agencies would be under the umbrella of Brick's company and then the engagement was so wonderful. Really looking forward to Syn and Bishop's story.

Book 4 in the Cobalt Security Series, "Without Regrets," delves into the story of Brick, a character previously introduced but not extensively explored. Brick's character reveals depth and complexity beyond initial impressions. The narrative kicks off with Reese's trademark action-packed style, making it a compelling read that's difficult to put down. Reese excels at portraying the theme of found family, showcasing the unwavering support and loyalty among the team members, which is a characteristic I particularly enjoy in military, black ops, and bodyguard novels. Additionally, I appreciate how Reese reintroduces beloved characters from earlier installments, invoking a sense of nostalgia that resonates deeply. Her skillful foreshadowing throughout the story sets the stage for future developments, leaving readers eager to uncover what lies ahead for the characters.

Oh my goodness, as always , never disappointed with a Reese Knightly book.

I enjoy reading about the men of Cobalt Security. When I start reading I can’t put it down. The stories speaks on the various criminal activities and the enemy is taken down. What started out as a meet and greet almost turned deadly. When Brick saw Fighter he wanted him, but past relationships made him not trust. When Fighter asked about a partnership, Brick got the wrong idea which offended Fighter when he basically propositioned him. Their friendship was tumultuous and because Fighters security business was in deep financial trouble as well as he owed a loan shark. The shows what Brick had to do to get Fighter to trust and believe in him. A great story and I definitely recommend reading. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

This book started off strong for me. I absolutely love an enemies-to-lovers story. The dynamic is always fun to see because the push and pull is so interesting. While this did start strong.... it fizzled out in the development pretty quickly. These two being enemies didn't last long, but the transition was very weak, and that was so disappointing. There wasn't a very good foundation for a relationship that was laid, and it all went from 0 to 60 in .5 seconds. While this couple was cute and this book had some good moments, it was a bit disjointed and didn't quite adhere into a well-formed story for me overall.

Tropes Include:
MM Love Interests
Dual POV 3rd Person
Enemies-to-lovers
Bodyguard x Bodyguard
Billionaire x Poor Man
Single Father Vibes
Protective MMCs
Low Heat
Low Angst
No Third Act Breakup

Quick enemies to lovers read

This is a quick read. It is an enemies to lovers, billionaire wealth gap story. Two men involved with bodyguard businesses. The story behind the enemies part is inch deep so fairly quickly resolved. There is a stalker and a man who is owed money who is harassing Fighter. We never really get the story as to why Fighter borrowed money from him which leaves a big hole in the plot. Also unexplained is how Brick came to be involved with Cobalt Security (why does a multi billionaire work for someone else’s firm but seem to be in charge anyway?)

But the developing relationship between the two men is a sweet story that moves quickly. This is a nice palate cleanser kind of book. It’s not too long, not too complicated, and leaves you with a good feeling. Would be nice if those storyline holes had been filled in better but the story still worked.

Fighting his enemy never felt so good. Mistakes were made. Lines were crossed. But nobody can mess with Fighter except for Brick. Okay, there might have been some issues along the way, but fighting his enemy never felt so good. Fighter thinks that Brick is an arrogant prick for thinking he was easy. Hate was too nice of a word to describe his feelings for the big bossy billionaire. Tyler Brick thought he could buy anything. Well, not him!

This was a fun read as Fighter and Brick faced off against each other. Love to close to hate and this story is a great example of that. Lots of danger and drama in this story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Can't buy me love

Fighter and Brick start out as enemies because of a misunderstanding. Something bad is happening around Fighter that Brick will not stand for and he will protect him at all costs. What I wasn't crazy about was when Brick found out all the information about Fighter being in dept and all who were involved, we didn't see him tell Fighter about it. Did he even tell him? I would have at least liked his reaction to the betrayal. Its supposed to be a two way story and I would have liked to hear what fighter had to say to them.

What a story of regrets and love. Brick couldn’t stand fighter until he got to know him. Fighter thought brick destroyed his business by underbidding for bodyguard jobs.

When brick took on a job to find out who was stalking fighter he really got to know him and realized he misjudged him. Brick also found out fighter was responsible for two young children so he was determined to protect them.

This story was fast paced and action packed. You won’t be disappointed. I didn’t want it to end.

I love this author’s books and it did not disappoint. Fighter and Brick, as you find out later, had a misunderstanding and where Fighter hurt Brick. When Brick found out that Fighter was not getting any jobs, and his finances were down, Brick decided to help him out behind the scene. Love the slow build to where they started to communicate more. Lots of action with heat and chemistry. Cannot wait for the next book in this series; it’s gonna be a doozy.

Absolutely no regrets

When a new book from this author is published , , there is absolutely no question about what I'm gonna be doing The next few hours. There is no time to waste. . Her stories are that good. They are exciting, jam packed with action, Innuendo, found family and partnership. The characters are human , not perfect but so damn good. This is 1 of my absolute favorite authors.

You just can't beat a Reese Knight key story! Action, mystery, suspense and moving romance!

Brick sure was not used to "working for it" with military experience and Entrepreneur is making rejection a surprise. Fighter adverse to "the rich" will not take cgarity. The clash, suspicion and the in to depth trouble can be life or death. This is a hate to love relationship and add in two adorable children and a wonderful romance. MM romance

Too many POVs

I'm not liking her new style of writing. The change in POV mid sentence is frustrating. At one point, there were three different POVs in one sentence. It started off with Syn's take, then to Bishop (both not the MC), then Fighter, and back to Syn. It's confusing af... It's almost like someone else is writing cause her earlier books are not like this. I would say the last 5 or so books have changed.

Book 4 of Reese Knightley's Cobalt Security Series is about Tyler Bricks and Arthit Suwan aka Fighter.
Due to a previous misunderstanding both men hate each other. After a fast paced start into the book with both men clashing heads and fists they slowly see past their hate and start to understand the other.
I really enjoyed this book and the Love/Hate trope. I didn't want to put it down.

If enemies to lovers is your jam you’re in for a treat. Brick and Fighter fit this trope to boot. There was no love lost between them which makes their mutual surrender all the sweeter. There’s plenty of action and adventure with some adorable kiddos to round out the story. Another fine addition to the Cobalt Security series.

I think this is the best Cobolt book so far. I absolutely loved it. The way that Brick looks out for Fighter even though they don't get on when he finds out there are children involved is amazing.
I highly recommend this book but you must start with Book 1 to understand the relationships between the guys.

Reese Knightley has done it again. Back in the world of Cobalt Security. From enemies to lovers Brick and Fighter are quite the match. Throw in some mystery, tempers, and eventually love and you have a great story!! There's so many new faces and plenty of old ones that this book is definitely on my to be read....again list.

I have read and loved every book in this world and I have to say while I enjoyed this it just felt a little different to me. This is an enemies to lovers book about Brick and Fighter, and Bricks wonderful kids. If you have read the other books in the series then you are already somewhat familiar with Brick and it was so good to really get into his background and find who he is.

Not gonna lie, wasn’t buying into the poor rich boy doesn’t know who’s after his money. Once you get past the initial snark, it’s a tangled web, boat load of hot guys, couple of cute kids, and an unstoppable Brick wall, hope to see more of Fighter & Brick down the line. Can’t wait for Syn & Bishop but it will be a real let down if Wyatt gets left behind

Well now, those two sure had it coming! I loved how intense the emotions were between the MCs from the get go and how we got a front row seat to see the beautiful disaster.
They are far from perfect and really genuine, as close to real people as it gets. I appreciate that about the story the most.

I did enjoy reading Brick and Fighter's story and can't wait to read the following book that will feature Bishop and Syn, but when will Felix and Gunner get their happy ending because I've been waiting for their story since I read the first book of Cobalt Security?

Had a hard time getting into this book. As I do with all enemies to lovers. Once Brick apologized, I was hooked. Read all afternoon and all night. Again another winner, I think. Can’t wait for Sun and Bishop.
