Burn For Me

Rate this book
He's her damnation. She's his salvation.

Jasmine
My life has been dedicated to keeping secrets; a burden thrust upon me by others.
Sanctuary came in the form of a man who looks for the parts I keep hidden in the dark.
Now that I have to pose as a person from my past, my buried truths threaten to reveal themselves to the same man who now holds my future.
For better or worse

Sam
I was created to be a heartless machine, lacking any inherent morals, following orders without remorse.
Given a second chance to do better, it became crucial to use my trained instincts for the right reasons.
Then I found her--I found my purpose.
Now that she's required to wear my ring, I have no intention of letting her go.
Till death do us part.

This is book two in the interconnected standalone series Chaotic Love. Though reading the previous book is not necessary, it is highly recommended so you can better know all the characters and ensure you have the best chance at understanding the full picture.
Burn for Me is a secret military society romance that follows our two main characters during a mission where they're expected to go undercover as a married couple. It includes darker topics, explicit content, and profanity.
Recommended for mature readers only.

I was given the opportunity to read this book and wow, I freaking loved it! I absolutely fell in love with the mmc and just the way he acted with the fmc. I also thought it had an amazing plot and love how action packed it was and actually getting to know the side characters from sink with me and learning what their story was.

“They just letting anyone be authors these days”

OMG it’s me again reading another from my “Favorite Authors” (JK anyway, if you thought that was to harsh idk what to tell you) ANYWAY this book, let me just start this off by basically stating,
MW Simon Riley and or MW Remake Simon Riley, If they were real (a girl can dream) they would… Snipe this man without a second thought. “Omg Hannah why would you say that?” Because I found this author when she was talking about how she wrote these books BASED off of the COD characters we so love and she stated this book was based off of Simon Riley, Which one idk because this character doesn’t come close to either.
How would I describe this book, simple. Have you ever had disappointing sex with a man? Cause if you have then you know what I’m talking about. Don’t come for me you see I gave it two stars that means there’s something in this book I like. It just took forever to find it (like finding your vibrator after having bad sex. See tying this together. Where do I even begin.
First thing’s first hi what in the actual fuck is Sam Morano, is that even his real last name we never even got that truly answered since this marriage was supposed to be fake in the first place but somehow it magically became real because idk huh? The first chapters (and don’t quote me on how long it is when I say first chapters) are honestly sloppy the plot’s thrown around all over the place and nothing can clearly stand on it’s own. It took every inch of my body to not stop this book and close it but I promised someone I’d get through it. It actually got to the point I was skipping chapters skimming to find something in this book something to actually grasp.
My biggest pet peeve though with this story this books keeps bringing in satin, hell, and demons more then the religion of Satanism and the bible CONJOINED (and as someones who’s studied both holy shit) anyway that leads also into the simple fact that there’s so many over used phrases and words in this book which I can see she’s trying to give the two characters something to fall on but what she’s giving ME is a migraine. “ My demons my personal hell” ugggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh shooting myself in the foot would give me a better time.
Breaking down the character’s let’s fucking start off with our main Man Sam Morano. Three words, Pick Me Bitch. Jesus Christ man like wth. God it was so infuriating to read a lot of his chapters. I would have to take actual breaks and pinch my nerves with how this character was written out especially with the thought that he was based off a COD character that I know for DAMN SURE would act like that and would probably not want to stand in the same room as Sam. Personally if there was ever a real life situation with someone who was like Sam he would personally know what pepper spray was like for everytime he wanted to act like a pick me.
Are next character let me just get her out of the way real quick. FUCK Sharkie man she pissed me off in the first book to the point I couldn’t finish it and she’s back omfg.
Anyway the other main character Jasmine. She wasn’t god awful could actually get through her chapters but character development, defusing a bomb could have me less stressed then trying to figure out her character development. It seemed like the author was stressing to try and get all her ideas in for this character and it would get sloppy.
Caspin, bro I could never pronounce his name for the life of me so I just kept calling him Caprisun Idk he wasn’t so bad honestly he seemed pretty normal.
NOW before I get back lash remember I gave this book 2 stars that means there’s something I like. When the book starts kicking off (Idk what specific chapter) but when they get in the private jet the story actually takes off (hah you see what i did there) a little before that I’ll say when you could say Sam and Jasmine had their first kiss? If that’s what you want to call it. If you threw out the first whatever chapters before then and literally start from there the book actually has something to build on boy it’s a fragile foundation but anything is better than nothing. The complicated terms of finding out they loved each other was a move bet it kept that plot going with the fake marriage bit just making it seem like Sam knew how to ply his part. The good ol one bed bit made me laugh, bit for that to be there they for sure got to terms with it…quickly. Watching Sam fight with himself to understand he’s aloud to have this was a nice touch I’m a sucker for that trope. The whole “I’m aloud to have one nice thing after my entire existence has fallen apart” yea that’s some good shit. Now I have hated quote and hated words but the quote on stars, loved it honestly. “It’s the stars time to shine,” was plain and simple until Sam told Jasmine that on the rooftop with “I know but you got your time to shine tonight (pg.131 chptr.16)” ugh that got me that was cute made me hate Sam a little less. OMFG even though truly the chase seen wasn’t needed I liked it gave a build up the sex after hell yea love torture fear sex.
The characters falling in love was literally holding this book by a thread and the decently written porn was grabbing onto that thread and holding IT up. Yea that’s right there’s decent porn in this book. Decent build up’s to it as well. Ugh the torch fire scene ( a couple chapters after the quote I credited) yea that was good the chase is in that part so if you read this before staring the book or you’re in the middle of the book and want to go there start at chapter 17 (don’t get me started on the climax that was there it was awful because it wasn’t long enough for the hate and betrayal before they just made up. I’m sorry If i just found out the woman I loved whole life was a lie to me I’d be a lot more mad then like two pages.) from that chapter though to on you get two sex scenes go read them but the chase was so random but I’m a trope for a chase and then crazy man after that.
All and all the book was meh but like I said it had its moments. My honest opinion about this book. I think it truly was a Simon RIley fanfic and she turned around and changed names and things because going on and reading I could see faults and cracks of Call Of Duty with certain things words, phrases, random little moments which if that’s how you think Simon Riley is gurl we gonna go on a walkthrough with the games together. I could say a lot more but I don’t need to end up writing a book judging a book because at the end of the day a gurl wrote a book because she enjoyed writing it.
Anyway that is all for my review thank’s for coming to my TED Talk.

I received an ARC for “Burn for me” for an honest review. I went in completely blind to this book. This was my first military romance, and i had not read the first book.

Due to this, I felt it difficult to engage in the story in the first 5-10 chapters, as I was playing catch up and as the first book was referred to heavily.
There was no real explanation of who people were, a summary of what had happened previously or anything, so it got a bit confusing.
Once it got to chapter 10, and they were focusing more on their mission, the story flowed much easier and I was more engaged.

Tropes include:
Military
M/F
Secrets x betrayal
Violence
🩸 play
🔫 play
Marriage of convenience
Flashbacks
Stalker
Touch her/him and 💀

What I loved about this book;
The mission. Forced proximity. Forced to face and overcome their demons. Forced to feel their feelings.
A baptism by fire comes to mind with this couple. Once they get out of their own way, they are a force to be reckoned with.
Jasmine really comes into her own and I loved that their fire and passion for each other wasn’t just one sided.

I definitely recommend this book, though I highly suggest reading “Sink with me”, Book one, first to ensure you have all the information, the backstories and the main characters driving forces.

Happy reading

Immediately after finishing Sink With Me, I jumped into Burn For Me and my god, Trin delivered another absolute banger of a book. Highly recommend reading Sink With Me before starting this one, as it flows on from that and has characters that appear from that story, so it’ll help understand things better.

This story follows Sam, Caspian’s best friend and right hand man, and Jasmine, a solider with secrets. I wanted to both binge and savour the story, I was so intrigued by Sam after getting to know him in Sink With Me, I was not at all disappointed. Jasmine was always a little mystery to me as well, so I thoroughly enjoyed discovering more in this book.

Their dynamic was as explosive as it was tender, with Sam wanting to peel away the layers that make up Jasmine, to understand her better. In doing so though, Sam ends up needing to work out his own feelings after being devoid of them for so long, believing he had to feel nothing. Jasmine was the perfect person to help Sam realise that it’s okay to be human, to feel things, to live in the moment.

This story had some of my favourite tropes in it, from forced proximity to touch her and die to fake marriage. The way Trin writes her characters gives them more dimension and really makes the reader think about how they came to be the way they are. Why Sam gets triggered, why Jasmine has her secrets and how they both compliment each other as they work out the kinks in their “fake” relationship. Their character and relationship growth was one of my favourite parts about the story, as they both learned to trust and care each other.

The plot twists though, I did not expect them and when I thought it was going one way, it turned itself round on me and took me by surprise! The ending had me sitting on the edge of my seat in suspense, Trin’s writing style is so immersive that I could picture everything that was happening so clearly.

The Chaotic Love series is one I will always recommend to anyone who looks for military romances!

“She looks at me like I’m some kind of god that she’s ready to worship. Little does she realize that she’s the one with all the power. All she has to do is sit on her throne of flames, and I’ll gladly drop to her feet as the fire eats at my skin so that she can point me towards the next soul she wants to keep”
-Sam

I didn’t think I could love this book as much as I did this first one but wow!

Sam and Jasmine’s relationship is intense!
It’s hot and keeps you on the edge of your seat!

Sam
I just want to hug him. He has demons that eat him alive but only one devil that can calm all those demons. He doesn’t want to want his little devil but will burn the world for her to protect her. She’s the only one that can stop the hallucinations before they take him over. His love is not your typical love, it’s fierce.

Jasmine
She is strong and fierce herself. She puts on a mask to cover her true potential to stay in the shadows. She stands my Sam even when he pushes her away because she knows that he needs her, even if she won’t admit it to herself. When she finally takes the mask off, there is no stopping her to protect him even if it means facing her biggest fear. After facing her fear, it’s no longer her biggest fear. Her new fear is losing him, The only person who see her for what she’s worth.

I’m so in love with this series 🖤
Sharkie and Tides loved healed
But Sam and Jasmine’s love burns 🔥
I can’t wait to read about Moe next

Once again, Trin Savage has knocked it out of the park and produced art. Her books will never disappoint me and once again I am giving this book a five stars because of how incredible it is.

This book is about Sam, Caspian's best friend and right hand man (read the first book to understand more!) and Jasmine, a soldier from the first book. This book heavily references the first book so, as a recommendation read the first book to understand this one, as the books in this series are interconnected.

I immediately started this book after I finished 'Sink with Me', which is the first book in the 'Chaotic Love' series and absolutely loved it. I love the character Sam in this, as he reminds me a lot of Simon "Ghost" Riley (and what I love is that the author was Call of Duty fanfic writer). And the way the author writes about the mission (it really feels like you are playing a Call of Duty mission) and the forced proximity which leads on to them hating each other to them questions their feelings for one another. Incredible writing.

Tropes:
- Marriage of Convenience
- Touch her and die
- Enemies to Lovers
- Spice

I’m rating this one a 4.5⭐️ I thoroughly enjoyed reading the 2nd book in this series. I enjoyed the first book but this second one was even better. You can really see the writing style of this author growing with each book that she writes.
I absolutely love Sam & Jasmine. I wasn’t so sure about jasmine just because the first book but she redeemed herself in this book. I don’t want to give anything away but she is a bada*s and I love how Sam helped her with her confidence and these two were definitely perfect for each other. There was some trauma in their pasts and lots of secrets and I love how they helped each other work through these issues. They just equal each other out. The banter in this book was pretty good between some of the other characters and I can’t wait for Moe’s book. The spice was well written. The tension and angst between the main characters was off the charts and had you on the edge of your seat just waiting for when they would finally combust. Well done on your second book in this series!!!

I started this immediately after finishing Sink With Me, like same day...

I have a problem - I know.

I honestly did not like Sam or Jasmine in Sink With Me, so I was a bit nervous going into Burn For Me. But holy shit, it did not disappoint. Reflecting on it now, I kind of love the fact that my opinions on Sam and Jasmine were so heavily skewed by Cordi's view of them through her experiences. Once we were able to read from their point of view, it rounded out their characters and gave them much more depth and context. I think its really cool how the author played with that between the two books.

The story was great and there were some plot twists I absolutely did not see coming. I so love the relationship growth between the main characters. I cannot wait for the next book!! I'm excited to see what our sweet boy Moe has in store for us.

This book had me on edge the whole time, and I loved every second of it. The tension between Sam and Jasmin was so papable. I was practically holding my breath every time they were in the same room. At one point, I was literally yelling in my head, Sam just KISS HER already! The slow build up made it worth it when things finally exploded between them. But it wasn't just the romance that had me hooked. the missions and intense action had me turning pages like my life depended on it. And can we talk about Jasmin? She was such a badass. Strong, fierce, and unshakable, even when the odds were stacked against her. Watching her hold her own in every situation and the fact that she never gave up on Sam made me love her even more. She is exactly what he needs.

Sam found Jasmine and Bay absorbed her as a soldier. Ever since, he’s been obsessed but keeping his distance; to protect her. Now they are tasked with an undercover mission where they must pose as husband and wife to infiltrate and gain information. It’s all just fake, right? Until it isn’t.

I personally am always a fan of the big scary man realizing he does in fact have feelings. As we learn more about Sam and Jasmine and see them grow, we also get a clearer picture of their world of warring factions and trading in intelligence and power. There were moments that had me by the throat and I was holding my breath to see what would happen next. This book explored darker themes and I loved it.

I was given a free copy. I am leaving my review voluntarily.

If I thought I loved Sharkie and Tide, I was burning bright for Jasmine and the Reaper.

One thing that I’ve come to know and love about this series, is I love how entangled the couples becomes. Leaning on each other for support and feeding off each other’s energies.

I also love the theme of forgiveness ❤️‍🩹

Trin, you did this couple so well and I love the tangled web you weaved for Jasmine that had Sam ripping through the fabric. I just couldn’t think of a more beautiful way to set fire to their story ❤️‍🔥

I wish I could say more but I don’t want to spoil this beauty for you guys. Just read it!

First and foremost I have to express just how thankful I am to have had the opportunity to be a part of the ARC readers for this amazing book! Keep an eye out for its release on February 7th!

Jasmine and Sam officially have my heart. Talk about “touch her and die.” Within the first few chapters we get a glimpse at just how far this obsession goes.

From page one I was basically kicking my feet and throwing my kindle down just because of how well written and immersive this story is! The tension, the conflict, all of it was just *chefs kiss* 🤌🏻Trin, you did such an amazing job and I will be recommending this read to everyone I know!

I just finished Burn For Me by Trin Savage and these are my thoughts…

If you like secret societies, a tattooed and possessive MMC, an FMC with a secret, the one bed trope and that moment when the masked MMC says “run!” Then Burn For Me needs to be added to your TBR.

Burn For Me is the second book in the Chaotic Love series and does need to be read after the first book - Sink With Me - as the story picks up where the first books ends.

Our MMC, callsign Reaper, is morally
Black, a battle hardened soldier good at unaliving his enemies who thrives off control. Our FMC, callsign Jasmine, is hiding her truth. Trying to prove her worth to her friends and while protecting her secret.

I enjoyed this book much more than the first. I was able to connect with Reaper and Jasmine more than Tide and Sharkie, and thoroughly enjoyed the slow burn angst and relationship development between our main characters.

Okay let me just start by saying that at first I thought I won't understand the book because of the military stuff and all. But getting deeper into the book and translating words..I liked it no, I loved it so much. So many things are happening and I like that. I love Jas honestly, she reminds me of myself a little and Sam I need a man who talks like him. He is ready to do anything for Jas and the way he talks about her is the sweetest compared to his appearance and how he talks to others. When I read the the first book, I got so attached to it. Its still one of my favorites books of all time and this one too. You are really talented and I love your work. I hope, I really hope there will be more of your books cuz I'm hella excited to read them. Also, I'm so curious about Jon and Delilah or Dove and Rurik mostly about Jon and Delilah. So, is there gonna be book about them, maybe?

I read this one without reading the first and found the beginning to be a bit confusing, but most of it was all cleared up throughout the book.
These two are so perfect for each other, the passion they share and the understanding for each other. The way they love one another could be so destructive, but they make it so beautiful.
There is good room for continuation for the series with different people,so I'm intrigued to see who/what the next one will be about.
I now need to go back and read the first one, lol.😂

Thank you for the ARC Trin Savage!!

Getting into it was a little slow for me at the beginning, just overall confusing. But I didn’t read the first book in the series, so I’d recommend reading them in order so it’s less confusing.
Overall the story was good, great spice and great plot. I really enjoyed seeing Jasmine finding herself and Reaper being able to open up.

I really liked that there was a plot that was thought out because I’ve read many dark romance where the spice is the whole book and I like a good story along with it!

I thought I had a favorite character in this series and then I read this one. I absolutely loved Sam in this. While I enjoyed this first book this one, in my opinion was so much better. The first book was really the set up. In this book we really got to follow the characters through a mission which I found really fun. I also love the marriage of convenience trope. Also how can you not love masked men. My absolutely favorite scene in this was the stairwell scene after Jasmine finished Sam’s mask. So fun and hot! I can’t wait for the next book!

Love Love Love this book. After the Debut novel “Sink With Me”, I expected something similar from this book. And though it is similar, it is also uniquely different and something oddly surprising. It’s all the good tropes wrapped u in a blazing furnace of passion unspoken. And be ready for a whiplash plot twisted ride.
