Blood shall nourish the Marshes shall nourish our blood.
In the small town of Redmarsh, witches have the chance (or sometimes constraint) to live a quiet life. After all, nobody dares unsettle the Marshes.
But young and ambitious Blood witch Harlowe Wickens was born with the gift of stealing, and she intends to use it. When she attempts to rob another witch’s Sight, things take an unexpected turn and she’s afflicted with a dire curse.
In the middle of the distressing situation, her non-witch best friend Norma Roth teams up with the older and much more peaceable Wickens sibling, Jaden, whom she’s had a crush on for years. Only there isn’t a second to dwell on the small perk of spending some alone time with him since things keep escalating alarmingly. They have to involve the parents.
The good? The only witch in town who’s more bull-headed than Harlowe is her mother.
The bad? In their arduous quest to break the curse, the Wickens family and Norma will have no other choice but to shake up a long-dormant war between Blood and Sight.
PERFECT for spooky season and I love that the story begins right away! I was immediately hooked! I really hope we're going to get to see more of Vittorio in the next books because he's just too precious. 💜
On my way to read Devonna while I wait for the sequel!
The structure of the POVs was truly original, and the introduction to Redmarsh and the different kinds of witches definitely intrigued me. I can't wait to see where this story goes (especially with Norma and Jaden!)
