This book is one I’d been anticipating like a woman unhinged, because that cliffy in the previous book got my blood boiling, my mind racing, my anticipation levels skyrocketing..

So of course once the arc for this landed in my inbox life was put on hold…And shamelessly this was inhaled, this series took us on a journey of twists and turns, trillions of red flags, corruption and manipulation and I was all here for it, like a junky needing my next fix I dived into this head first.

Such an evil twisted story of mind manipulation which gets its hooks into you easily and doesn’t let go, the endless mind games men within power bestowed on our characters was mind blowing, hidden within a maze of family secrets. This author brilliantly held each of us readers in the palm of her hand sending us over cliffy’s of her doing. Each book sent us down a rabbit hole of epic proportions.

I needed these characters Romy & Caius to come out of this relatively unscathed, with a much needed HEA. Because what these characters went through they deserved a happy ending. 65451226-2019570151487824-6157464638251335680-n

Genre: Dark Romance
Type: Book 3 of 3 from the The Crowne Conspiracy series
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

Romy Langston seemed to have the perfect life, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that something important was missing. As she tried to fit the pieces together, Caius Crowne faced a similar situation. But their road to each other might be paved in pain and lies.

Romy and Caius were determined to right the wrongs. I liked how in doing so, they formed alliances with unexpected characters. It added interest and brought out a different side to the main characters.

After the intricate plots of the first two books, this installment felt quite light and tame. It was more straightforward and less intense. Thankfully, things ramped up towards the last 20% of the book.

Cup of Lies is a story of reclaiming one’s life and moving on. This series would appeal to readers who enjoy a dark psychological romance.

The thrilling ending to this twisted mystery is finally here. Who can you truly trust? What will be the final outcome for Romy Langston, Theo & Caius Crowne? Will CUP win or can Romy finally find the truth and her freedom? Plenty of truths are revealed as we see what really is going on it this world. There is also quite the cameo but you have to read to see who. Told in first person and dual POV.

A gritty, dark story woven with mind tricks, retaliation, hard-earned freedom and crazy evil. What an intense rollercoaster.

My favourite book is still the second, yet this is a great finale fraught with dangers galore and surprises all around. The cliffhanger in the previous book is masterful. It left me reeling with questions and an unrelenting need to read the final book.

So it takes off with our couple in an upside down life where they have to unravel their mind state from a tangle of warped memories and muddled realities. It's awesome the way they carve out their real feelings out of that labyrinth.

There's a lot of darkness to be survived and overcome that made me cringe. However, these characters that I've come to care and root for are fighters and they plunge ahead to protect their sanity while keeping emotional bonds alive and loved ones safe. It's really harrowing, yet also provides meaningful, tender relationships.

I loved the plot twist that makes it possible for the mind-manipulating Goliath to face their reckoning. All the characters get a worthy ending in this good-versus-evil war where the romance is as exhilarating as the action and the horror is as poweful as the love, family and hope all victims crave as their due.

It's an amazing story (trilogy) but proceed with caution. Dark themes ahead.

In the conclusion of the Crowne Consiparcy series Romy and Caius are separated with no memory of each other. Romy goes through a terrible experience while being held by one of the doctors responsible for her brainwashing. She is forced to pretend she’s his dutiful wife. Romy begins to put all pieces together as memories come back to her. When they reunite they are stronger and more in love than ever. They work together with a rough and tumble group of bikers to take down their fathers and stop them from hurting more people. I loved the addition of the Oklahoma bikers and how they provided a safe place for them as well as friendship. Romy is incredibly strong and fierce. Caius is like a different person with how open and caring he is. The writing is emotional and extremely dark with the mindfkry and manipulation these two go through. This isn’t as spicy as the previous book but what we did get was excellent.

What to believe?? 😳
Ahhh this book is creepy in the best way! You really question with the characters how things could be happening and what elements are actually real - especially for the first 1/3 of the book where they’re each in their own captive situation 😖 Romy really has the worst deal out the two of them (check TWs!) and it’s a question of whether she really can escape those holding her down 😔 Caius inner battle is more with his guilt - that allows him to see his father’s ploy more clearly, it’s a lot for him to work through but with that we see real character growth 😊 the latter stages of the book are definitely focused on their revenge which they so rightly deserve, thankfully they seem to have a new friend group behind them and it gets oh so gory 😳 you see Romys real strength of mind and steel core to protect her little family 🥰 I found this last book very fast paced but everything was tied up really well! Satisfying end to this trilogy 😃

***4,5 "Always mine!!!" stars***

"There's nothing but heartache and pain here.
It's a mindfuck of mysteries and madness.
I want out once and for all."

Mrs. Webster can write anything but in this particular genre, she excells!!!
This trilogy was unputtable and unforgettable in a very twisted way...
If you let your mind wandering while you reading it, it will creep you up if you let yourself think what if that was reality!!! And you will be terrified by these throughts!!!
OMG!!! The mind games in here!!! This twisted reality was more brutal than anything that can hurt you in the non fictional world!!! I will take the hurt any time of the day than being in Caius and Romy's shoes!!! Especially Romy's!!! That was pure madness!!! Like slipping in the rabbit hole that Alice got herself once upon a time and you are twisting andd twisting in an endless chaotic madness!!!

"My mind is a liar.
It's been playing tricks on me since I was a little girl.
I've learned not to trust it."

The third book picked up exactly where the cliffy from hell had left us...
Romy is living a domestic dream life, until... she is starting to get pieces of another reality back and that dark presence that is haunting her dreams, it belongs to a man named Caius...
Her mind is a dark and very twisted maze and she can not trust it... She needs to keep calm and try to remember... And what will happen when she will remember???

"I can't fully see his face, but I know I belong to him."

Caius is living his own version of bliss... He got what he always wanted, but he still can't find that happiness that he thought he would have... Something is missing... Someone important to him, but who is this woman???
He needs to remember and he needs to take the reign of his mind and to turn the tables in his favor!!! And the most important thing??? He needs to find the girl that apparently means more to him than he remembers!!!
What will happen when he will realize that he was always a pawn and not the King in this cruel game of survival???

"I'm going to find her. And no one is taking her from me ever again."

I loved this story very much!!!
We got through many phases throughout the three books...
I was mad, I was angry, I was ecstatic... but it pained me watching people manipulating others while stealing them the most precious thing, their sanity, their free will and then, their full existence!!!
It was so cruel and mean!!! Fucked up!!!

"Somehow, apart, we fell madly in love."

Romy and Caius proved us here that the love they were sharing meant so much more than they thought and it was powerful enough to make them remember not only their feelings for each other, but what was real important to life...
And even though I haven't read the MC books by Kristy yet, I liked that their gang became an ally in these crazinest that our heroes had gotten themselves into!!

"Our love story is strange. Strangely beautiful.
If this is a crazed figment of my imagination, then I don't ever want to wake up..."

Continuing in the timeline, the madness of mind control continues as Romy is playing the good wife role until she can breakthrough her alternate reality. With Caius armed with the knowledge of Calista, he is more determined than ever to reunite with Romy.

“You ever think this could all be a hallucination? Like maybe we’re still in that lab, our minds being poked and prodded?”

Narrated in dual POV, Romy’s fortitude and deep need to protect others from the predators of CUP guides her to Caius and the truth. Together, they are armed with the knowledge to bring down this secret organization. Adding to the cast of characters, the bikers round out the resources and also give Caius what he has been seeking.

This story concept is beyond intriguing and kept me invested, especially in seeking if and how these players would go down. One particular secondary character earned his way back too. Though there were some plot elements that plateaued a bit in this book, the conclusion was full of action and The Crowne Conspiracy trilogy with a bang.

Ms Webster doesn’t disappoint with this sizzling finale, a worthy conclusion to an adrenaline filled journey. An adventure with all the mind twisting games, despicable characters as well as irresistible unconventional heroes and sparkling moments.

~𝙄 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙄 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙝𝙞𝙢 𝙤𝙣 𝙖 𝙙𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙡𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙚𝙩 𝙝𝙚’𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙚 𝙢𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙮. 𝘼 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙚 𝙜𝙞𝙛𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬~

The story picks up where book two ends, Romy is living a life that is a lie and her strong mind refuses to buy into this picture-perfect domestic fantasy which is soon turning into a nightmare. As she begins to put all the pieces together a new reality begins to emerge, and what she sees is more dangerous than she could have ever imagined. She needs to find help and she also needs to look for that elusive person who is always in the deepest recesses of her soul. Time is running out and action is required, hell is about to break.

~𝙄’𝙢 𝙙𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛𝙞𝙨𝙝. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙮𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙗𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧~

Caius is back to his old life and he has finally been reunited with his family, yet something feels off, as he tries to live the life everyone expects him to live he starts to doubt his own reality. Sparks of a past life, flashes of a woman who makes his heart racing, moments from other times make him wonder if what he’s doing is by his own willingness or it’s another manipulation. As the fog clears he’s ready for action, and this time he’ll be the one in control.

~𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙖𝙮. 𝙄’𝙢 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙩~

Told in dual POV the author waves a thrilling story, the fast paced narrative makes this opus a pleasant experience. I enjoyed the link to another series by the same author and the connections with those characters, it was an added touch perfectly executed. Although this isn’t the typical shade of darkness Webster can deliver, there are still sensitive issues, so make sure you check the triggers before proceeding, once you’re in, don’t expect to be coddled by these people…

If you were waiting for the third and final part of the Crowne Conspiracy trilogy and are worried about the catching up, fear not, because the author provides a general summary to help you get in line with the plot.📝

I’m particularly fond of the title of this last book and its inner meaning… you’ll see what I mean when you read! I missed Webster wearing these shoes and I hope to see more from her. I was happy to join the ride and I’m glad she gave us such a thrilling story.

Book three picks up where book two ended.

Romy and Caius have no memory of their former lives, their minds altered, to fit the perception of their new reality by those who are controlling their lives. Only there’s a flaw in their grand design, Romy and Caius begin to remember things. But in order to find their way back to each other, they must play the game, keep up the facade or risk loosing all that they love.

Because when Kaitlyn and Romy are found, the guilt Caius feels for what Romy endured outweighs his feelings and the need to protect them and keep them safe. Their reunion bittersweet.

With new friends and allies their aided in their plan to seek justice not only for themselves but the victims caught up in the machinations of their families, everything about who and what Romy and Caius are, all their truth’s laid bare, every dirty, dark and twisted secret paints a picture of what these two went through, and how hard they’re fighting for their happy ending.

The birth of their daughter Nova puts everything in to perspective, what they almost lost, the love they have for not only each other but their family, they are determined to rewrite their pasts, to ensure their children’s future is happy and carefree.

Seth, Solomon, Ava, Vivienne, President Huxley, Doc Junior, Bastian, Gideon and Orion each facing their own repercussions for the reckless choices and decisions they made, well built reputations destroyed , everything coming back twofold, retribution swift.

And even though Theo betrayed there trust, in his own way he made amends, risking his life to ensure the truth got out, his sacrifice almost in vein, yet by some miracle he made it through and they were able to forgive him.

Despite their less than humble beginnings, everything they have been through in between, in the end they got their bittersweet happily ever after.

And I would be remiss in saying those spicy moments were spicy, perfect and on point.

Highly recommend both the author and the book.

I received an ARC. Therefore, I am submitting a voluntary review.

Cup of Lies is the final book in The Crowne Conspiracy trilogy, and it picks up right where the last one left off. It left us with an insane cliffhanger, and I was dying to get to the finale. K Webster delivered a dark and complex story with so much betrayal, and it will mess with your mind. I couldn't put this book down and finished it in a day.

I can't say much about this book since it is the final book in the trilogy, and I don't want to spoil anything. Romy and Caius were both betrayed and separated at the end of the last book. This one deals with their struggles to get out of their current situations and get reunited. Their minds have been altered and toyed with, but they know they love each other. They go through so much trauma to get back together, and I was just praying for a good HEA.

I loved seeing the evolution of Caius's character and how far he has come since the first book. He has opened his heart to Romy and realizes what is really important to him. I loved their connection, and the chemistry between them is fire.

I will warn you that this trilogy is extremely dark with a lot of triggering content. It is mostly a psychological thriller until the romance kicks into gear in the second book. Please check for triggers before diving in.

And that’s a wrap for the trilogy, The Crowne
Conspiracy. I had to read this one in under 24 hours so know what all went down and what the outcome would be!

We know that our main characters memories were wiped clean and yet, a glitch had them questioning plot holes in their own minds. It was literally a race against time for them both to figure out what was going on and that they were victims of the Stem Lock Procedure.

Cauis, whose family was a main cause of all this remembers a girl he loved.
Romy is pregnant and knows the man she’s with isn’t the man she loves.

They both need to find their way back to eachother.

I love that we see some of the OG Royal Bastard MC members in this! That was such a fun surprise! (Go read those books if you haven’t)

“I’m going to crack the code of my mind and release the mysteries. My sanity depends on it.”

This was a fun mind bending trilogy. An HEA for those that matter.
I definitely recommend this one!

When the book opens, Romy has been completely reprogrammed and lives in a false reality — married to the villainous Seth Portman, pregnant, and raising a daughter, Kaitlyn, who she believes is hers.

Her memories of Caius Crowne, her true love, have been wiped and her identity overwritten. Seth uses the Stem Lock app on his phone to control Romy and Kaitlyn like puppets, wiping their thoughts and triggering emotional compliance. But Romy’s mind is fighting back. She begins to sense something is wrong — bruises she can’t explain, a wedding photo she doesn’t remember, and the name “Caius” echoing in her head like a ghost.

Caius, meanwhile, is trapped in his own fog. After being similarly subjected to CUP, he knows something’s wrong, but the truth remains just out of reach — until his little sister Calista (who may not actually be his sister 👀) starts drawing Romy’s face in her sketches. That unlocks something and the emotional bond between Romy and Caius begins to overpower the programming.

Seth Portman is exposed as a predator who has used CUP to manufacture a family and erase Romy’s free will and after learning this Romy secretly messages Eva, her stepmother, via a hacked Smart TV browser. Caius hacks into CUP’s system, identifying Romy as the woman haunting his memories. Seth, sensing her slipping away, rushes to take Romy and Kaitlyn back to the lab for “reconditioning.” In a stunning act of rebellion, Romy fakes compliance, planning her escape from the inside.

Finnaly Caius remembers everything: Calista is not Caius’s sister — is LuLu the girl raped on Solomon's yacht.

Romy escapes and Caius finds her and together, they expose the truth and kill the villains i their story.

The story loses two stars because, although the idea is interesting, it has inconsistencies in the plot. At the beginning of the book, when the two are separated, they each suffer because of the "reprogramming" that, especially, Seth uses through the phone. Then suddenly, he can no longer use the phone, and Romy manages to escape only to go back to his abuse to make room for Caius to save her—this resolution seems a bit unconvincing to me, the way the author chose to solve the situation. Also, Seth’s death feels too sudden considering everything that happened. And then, in the first book, Caius is rich, owns a house, cars, etc., but in this book he's worried when Romy gives birth because he has nothing to offer her—not even a home. Also, the fact that she is 18 at the beginning of the story and by the end she's 19/20 and already pregnant with a second child doesn't seem believable for someone her age. I would have preferred if the author had let her grow and placed the epilogue a few years later.

What a ride. K. Webster never fails to pull me under, and Cup of Lies is no exception. I’d been waiting for this book on pins and needles after that brutal cliffhanger, and it delivered. The mind games, the corruption, the endless web of secrets ... every twist just pulled me deeper.

Romy shines here. Her courage to face the monsters of CUP and her connection with Caius hit me right in the heart. Their chemistry burns, and his growth from the first book is remarkable. The dual POV kept me glued to the pages, and the bikers added the gritty edge this dark tale needed ... and has me now dying to pick up their stories, which I’ve not read yet.

Though a few moments slowed, the finale made up for it completely. This conclusion ended the Crowne Conspiracy trilogy with heat, heart, and the kind of twisted darkness I’ve come to love from this author.

Great ending! Never a dull moment. Especially with the unexpected help that Caius gets. That's the part I liked best. I mean, I'm glad they reunite. But it's even better in the way they do and the allies they gain. After all the trauma Romy goes through, this part of the story turns out to be very satisfying.

And, it's a wrap! What a fantastic finale to this thrilling, twisty, conspiracy laden trilogy that has kept me gripped from the start! Romy and Caius have been manipulated, used, and abused, and are still fighting!
This last book sets out to disentangle the Web of insanity and corruption in which they are entangled.
K Webster has written a compelling, totally entertaining trilogy, which has always thrown upsets and challenges from the start. It's well written and clever. I loved Romy and Caius. They go through such a huge development arc, finding their feet, shedding distorted memories and working courageously to get to the truth and make things right and I have loved every minute of thus wild rude!! I’m pretty sure my heart pounded throughout this entire trilogy, but this book OWNED ME.
This book had me on the edge of my seat throughout, and I felt like I was constantly looking over my shoulder for Romy and Caius.

This was the perfect book to tie the trilogy all together. I loved Romy and Caius together, and my heart ached so much with everything they had to go through before they could get their happy ending. This book was not only a literal mind game, it was also incredibly clever and captivating. This is a fantastic trilogy, and definitely added to my book list to gift!!
This would make an exceptional movie series!

The third and final instalment in the trilogy is a haunting, heart racing finale that blew my mind! This dark psychological romance is as brilliant as it is brutal. From the very first line, I was pulled into the chilling maze of confusion, manipulation, and aching love. The emotional intensity is staggering, and the suspense doesn’t let up for a second.

Romy is a woman lost in a fabricated reality, her identity shattered, her heart screaming for a truth buried beneath layers of lies. From the outside her life looks perfect, a devoted husband, a sweet little girl, and another baby on the way. But behind her polished smile, something is unraveling. Her memories don’t feel like her own. A man she doesn’t recognise keeps slipping into her thoughts, his presence electric… and terrifyingly real.
She can't remember the birth of her daughter, she can’t remember when the cracks started to form.
And the voice in her head won’t stop whispering: This isn’t your life.

Trapped in a reality that feels manufactured, Romy begins to question everything and everyone.
Is her husband truly the man he claims to be? Is her home a sanctuary or a cage? The deeper she digs, the more dangerous the truth becomes.
One thing is certain: She was never meant to forget. And someone will do anything to ensure she never remembers.

Caius entered this story as a shadow, cold and calculating, and hell-bent on breaking Romy from the inside out. Twisted by darkness and driven by revenge, he never expected the woman he sought to destroy would be the one to unravel him… and claim his heart. Now, everything has changed.
But there's a hole in his memory, a deafening silence where she should be. His mind is fractured, manipulated by forces that wanted him obedient and blind. Still, something inside him refuses to forget. A phantom ache in his chest. A name that stirs the ashes of a life stolen.
He doesn’t remember Romy, but his soul does.

And when the truth finally clicks into place, when the missing pieces of his past snap back with brutal clarity, he’ll stop at nothing to reclaim her and to reduce the empire, that stole her, to ashes. With the Tulsa, OK Royal Bastards MC at his side, vengeance won’t just be personal… it will be brutal and inevitable.

Caius and Romy’s journey to happiness is nothing short of breathtaking, a whirlwind of heartbreak, hope, and raw intensity that left me on the edge of my seat. Each revelation lands with brutal force, unraveling secrets that cut deep. The twists are relentless, drawing you further into a web of lies so intricate, you can’t look away.
And when the moment of reckoning finally arrives? It ignites like a match to gasoline fierce, cathartic, and unforgettable.
Cup of Lies isn’t just the finale of a trilogy, it’s an uprising. A fierce reclaiming of truth, identity, and a love powerful enough to survive even the cruelest manipulations.

This was disappointing. That reunion was dog ass. Like the connection between them was 100% gone. They had more connections between them when he put her in the floor.

Cup Of Lies by K Webster is the thrilling conclusion to the excellent The Crown Conspiracy trilogy.
It is the mind bending and strange love story between Caius Crowne and Romy Langston, with all the darkness and complex plots we are used to from K Webster. It is a good finale, full of further twists and surprises as they fight to escape the mind games and gain retribution for all they have been through. The cliffhanger from Mind Maze gave an idea of what to expect and we find the couple both suffering from a warped reality and family betrayal. Somewhere in the dark recesses of their minds, memories start rising up and they both realise they are living in a web of lies.

Romy is now married to Seth, has a daughter Kaitlyn and is pregnant. She thinks her mind is playing tricks on her because strange memories keep floating back and she is haunted by recollections of the mysterious Caius. Slowly she realises everything seems wrong, she is being held against her will and her life is a lie. She starts to feel afraid and worried they have erased her mind as she can’t remember the past or even recent events. She wonders if she’s part of a strange experiment because Seth uses an app on his phone to change how she is feeling and to control their daughter. Determined to put all the pieces of the puzzle together and figure out the truth, she devises an escape plan.

Caius is working for CUP with his dad and brother Theo, but doesn’t trust either of them. He is living with Calista, but suspects she’s not his sister. He is confused by his strange memory loss and feels something is wrong as forgotten memories have started to plague him. Has his dad put him through the CUP program to stop him discovering the truth. He has these thoughts of a woman who he’s sure he loves. Everything comes flooding back when he finds information that confirms his fears. Determined to find Romy and help Calista, he realises they need to get away.

As they both desperately try to find each other, Caius is helped by an unexpected source. They join forces to not only find Romy but to find all the monsters and make them pay for the evil they have done. Romy has more to endure before she’s finally rescued. When they are reunited the memories of what they have been through since childhood return, along with their history and all the revelations they discovered before being betrayed. What will his reaction be to the news she is having his baby?

The suspense builds as they attempt to dismantle the operation and the author gives us one more mind game to bring the story to a thrilling ending. Who will survive this couples onslaught? I liked how by the end of the book Caius was a changed character, caring about others after all he endured and thoroughly deserved the unconditional love Romy had for him. It turned out their lives have been connected for far longer than they knew and Caius had been trying to save her all of his life.I didn’t find this as compelling and intense as the first two books. The emphasis was much more about escaping the clutches of their evil fathers and gaining their revenge, than the mind games and experiments. They have both been unwilling victims and it didn’t matter how much they infiltrated their minds, the love they had for each other helped them survive. Overall, a fascinating and mind blowing trilogy with a satisfying conclusion.

I really wanted to like this one but this is more plot-heavy that the previous books and from 50%, the plot really fell apart with all the plot holes that didn’t make sense and I just wanted to DNF. This is disappointing after I really enjoying the plot in the previous two books

While I was glad for the leads Romy’s baby was Caius’s, it doesn’t make sense. Seth would definitely have aborted any baby that wasn’t his to bind Romy to him and I’m confused why it isn’t a possibility the baby was Seth’s. That would have been more likely.

The brainwashing of Romy just seemed to stop working full stop in this book. Again, makes no sense that she just suddenly develops full resistance to something that was working for 6 months. It would have been more realistic if she had bouts again that she was in love with Seth. And while it suits the narrative that Seth is a disgusting pig, I find it hard to believe he wasn’t obsessed with Romy that he’d shower her with affection and show her his best self, instead of not showering and treating her like his maid.

Theo also made no sense in this book. He gained nothing from betraying Romy. Initially I thought he did it to gain Romy as his wife but it looks like there was no motivation for his betrayal of Romy, apart from wanting to please his dad. It just doesn’t make sense. He didn’t even have a night with Romy after drugging her despite how much he liked her and handed her over to be Seth’s wife. And even if fear of his dad was the motivator, why would he defect to Caius’s side? Again, made no sense.

What really made no sense was the biker gang arc. It was so unrealistic Caius would run into a biker gang. Even less likely for him to run into a biker gang that would be willing to risk their lives, travel to another state to take down a human trafficking operation. Supposedly Caius was trained by the beat of the best hackers to learn the tech skills he has. However, in this book, we have an obscure biker gang that has tech skills that can disable the brain washing tech, which Caius the developer couldn’t even deactivate, find Lulu’s family despite her records being wiped by CUPS (even Caius couldn’t find information on Lulu or Romy with his tech skills) and find this elusive psychological facility (which again would have been hidden as government classified information).

The plot really just fell apart after the introduction of the biker gang. What didn’t help was how unrealistic it was that Vivienne would come out and help them, the biker gang being able to circulate information that dismantles the operation on social media despite how powerful Giden, Huxley and Orion and easily the trio are overpowered and killed/detained (they’re rich and powerful, where’s their security detail?!!)

There was so little romantic scenes or smut that even that couldn’t carry the book with the plot holes. The MMC is pure good as opposed to morally grey like the trigger warnings said - that didn’t lead to me rating it low though

I also thought the coupling of Lulu and Nees at the end felt forced and unnecessary

CUP of LIES by K Webster
(The finale that had me suspicious of everyone, including my houseplants)

CUP of LIES is the explosive final book in the Crowne Conspiracy trilogy, and wow what a ride. Oh sweet plot-devouring chaos, where do I begin? This book had me in a chokehold from page one, and I went willingly, like a sleep-deprived raccoon chasing a shiny object. This is the final book in the Crowne Conspiracy trilogy, and let me tell you, I have never clicked an ARC email faster. I nearly broke a finger. Worth it.

After the soul-destroying cliffhanger in the previous book, I was feral. Full gremlin mode. I waited for this book like a woman unhinged eyes twitching, heart pounding, snacks untouched (okay, that's a lie, but dramatic effect). I NEEDED answers. Who do we trust? What is real? Is CUP just a beverage now or a cryptic code for “Chaos Unleashed Perpetually”? Probably both.

This book dives straight into the deep end of betrayal, power games, and long-buried secrets. It’s dark, twisty, and full of moments where you’ll pause and mutter, “Oh no they didn’t.” (Spoiler: they did.) The manipulation is elite. The red flags? Numerous and waving with gusto. And yet, somehow, K Webster still gives us heart those tender, emotional moments that keep you grounded amid the madness.

Romy and Caius especially shine in this final installment. I just wanted to bundle them up and smuggle them into a nice quiet rom-com where no one’s lying or trying to ruin lives. They deserve that. After everything they’ve been through, I was practically chanting “Give them the HEA!” under my breath. I needed Romy and Caius to come out the other side not just alive, but emotionally intact-ish. THEY DESERVED THAT HEA. After all the gaslighting, kidnapping, and possible war crimes, they deserved a peaceful brunch and a nap. And by God, I got it.

This trilogy is not a love story. It's a psychological triathlon. A maze of corruption, generational lies, and emotional whiplash. My jaw was on the floor so often I considered just staying down there. The manipulation was Olympic level. The men? Hot but morally bankrupt. The women? Absolute warriors who probably haven’t slept in three books, and yet still look better than I do after 8 hours and a skincare routine.

If you like your romance dark, your secrets deadly, and your plots twistier than a pretzel factory this trilogy is for you. But…

Please check the trigger warnings before diving in.

This series explores intense and potentially upsetting content including manipulation, abuse, trauma, and violence. It's brilliantly written, but definitely not light reading.

In summary:

Tension: dialed to 11
Plot: scheming with a side of family drama
Characters: beautifully complex
Me: emotionally compromised, but satisfied
A wild, addictive, and satisfying end to an unforgettable trilogy.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the third book in The Crowne Conspiracy Series from K. Webster. You have to read Psyop Kings and Mind Maze first or you are going to be lost. This is also the final book in the series. It picks right up where we left off in Mind Maze. I had a lot of questions left when we finished that book and I was left in a I need to know now what is going to happen place. Now they find themselves in a life that is totally upside down. They are going to have to figure out what is real and what isn't in their minds as they have been left with some really warped memories and realities that aren't quite right. The best part though is how their real feelings are revealed while all this is happening. These two are really fighters but I swear at times I was holding my breath because their sanity was on the line. They have their relationship/bond to care for while doing this and keeping the people that they love safe. There is a lot going on in this book. I wanted nothing more than for Goliath to get what he had coming to him tenfold. I can't tell you if that happens but it had me in this mode of I can't wait for him to pay at times reading this final book. I loved reading this series. It is kind of terrifying to think this could really happen to people. This was a journey. All there of these book and if you haven't started this series yet, you are really missing on a mind blowing series. Don't forget to check the warnings because this is a dark series. I loved it!!! I love when an author takes me to a world that is different than what we all usually read. Do not miss it.

Cup of Lies, the third and final book to The Crowne Conspiracy trilogy is finally here and what a ride!!

Caius Crowne started this series dark, villainous, and with the one objective of turning Romy Langston's mind against her. Caius has come a long way from that singular focus and it's all wrapped up in the woman who stole his heart, Romy. If only he could remember her....something in his heart is telling him there is something, or more like someone, missing from his life, but his head has been tampered with, he just needs to find the key and unlock what's missing.

Romy is living the perfect life with her daughter, another child on the way, and a husband, but something inside is screaming that her life isn't exactly perfect. She has flashes of another man who isn't the husband who sleeps by her side and shouldn't she remember her first child's birth? Her heart tells her yes, while her mind plays tricks. Something isn't right, but she can't exactly figure out who or what is wrong. The only thing she knows is that she will keep fighting to find the answer.

This entire series is one giant puzzle and this book finally lays in the last pieces. Everything ties up nicely, which I love, and the puzzle picture is complete. The Outlaws of Tulsa, some readers may recognize, play a nice part in this book. I loved their contribution as well as how they amped up the tension or humor when needed. This entire trilogy is fantastic!

In this final book of The Crowne Conspiracy trilogy we get an ending to make you say Thank Goodness!!!! In a lot of books you root for the couple you know should be together but never in a book has a couple deserved it like Romy and Caius!!! Holy hell the trauma!!!

This is a full of betrayal, mind games and secrets that were buried way too deep. As this all unfolds be ready to go with dark ringed eyes and zombie like features cause you are not going to sleep!!! You won’t be able to set this book down long enough to get any shut eye (mean that literally). You are brought into these characters lives so much that after the last cliffhanger you 1. Need to know what happens right freakin now and 2. Need to know some kind of justice will be handed out! Well buckle up buttercup cause you are about to be on a ride crazier than being in the car with Thelma and Louise!

This does end in a happy as can be ever after while yes there are some just desserts dolled out (again, thank goodness). I don’t think I could have handled anything else. I mean the heart rate was elevated and needed this ending.

In a world where money hold keys, love hold the true power!!!

Thank you Chaotic Creations and K. Webster for this ARC!!! What a ride to be on 🖤

3⭐️ The first 2 in this trilogy were good. I had a good time reading them. This last one 😣 wasn’t my favorite. It took too long to get the MC on page together (50%). And then when they finally got on page together I felt they lost some of the chemistry the author had built in the first 2 books.

Then there was the MC bikers 🤔 - that felt like it came out of left field for me.🤷🏻‍♀️

Also, some parts I was unsure of what was happening- inconsistency in the plot or did the author want us to supplement our own interpretation: eg. Caius is rich but then is living off a group of other people- didn’t he have assets? Then she looking for a house to buy! It just didn’t make sense. It was odd him acting like he was poor… it would’ve made more sense if the author just said he had to wait to liquidate his assets and that’s what he was worried about-Some other things didn’t add up either (like why didn’t the president of the United States have secret service at his disposal/ swept things under the rug; the Ava thing- a woman in her line of work so trusting to get new girls she just shows up alone at a motel?) I started thinking maybe the authors trying to wrap this up and make pieces fit where they don’t 🤷🏻‍♀️

Overall the 3 books as a whole were good. I liked the authors ideas and plot. I probably could’ve done without this last book though.

In the two previous books, the sexual assault of main character and other characters, human trafficking, crimes against children, past mention of sexual abuse with flashbacks, violence, murder, forced drug use, psychological and medical torture, kidnapping, forced captivity, psychological brainwashing and manipulation, are today reality. Not just fiction. But reality the author tailored perfectly scary in a fiction wrap. I love those two books.

In this should be epic finalle, i see how fiction this trilogy is. For the ending was there with all the bad guys taken down. Definitly fiction because in real life, all those rich and powerfull bastards wont even feel shame for their expose crime, let alone get their ass drag to jail, or in the best time? Meet painfull death in torture room.

I mean, look at Palestine today. Are we not seeing the holocaust today life on oir phone screen with all the zionazis freely confessing their crimes? And what do they get? More power, more funding, more backup to continue slaughtering Palestinians.
See how i see this last book as total fiction?

One thing K Webster got it right at the en. Resistance comes in many way. Armed resistance must be taken to end the evil!

Cup of Lies is an intense dark romance, full of psychological tension and unexpected twists. The heroine is thrown into a manipulated reality, where her identity has been distorted and even her memories erased. It’s both gripping and painful to follow her internal conflict—torn between the imposed life beside a deceitful man and the fragments of memories that refuse to stay hidden.

The driving force of the plot is her search for Caius, a name that rises like a spark of hope amid the chaos. This detail gives strength to the narrative, bringing emotion and a promise of reunion and revenge. The book does an excellent job exploring themes of manipulation, resilience, and love as a force of survival.

K. Webster delivers a dark yet captivating story that blends romance, suspense, and conspiracy. It’s one of those reads that leaves you unsettled, questioning what’s real and what’s just an illusion.

🔹 Highlights: tense atmosphere, gripping plot, resilient heroine.
🔹 Recommended for: readers who enjoy dark romance, psychological thrillers, and stories that explore manipulation and resistance.

✨ARC Review✨

Final book in the Crowne Conspiracy Series

Pain
Betrayal
Heartbreak
Have been the constant companions of Romy Langston throughout her 19 years. Just when it seemed as though she had finally found something real with Caius they were both betrayed & are now trapped in a world that’s not real.
Prisoners in their own lives, controlled by the ones who say they love them. They both know that something is missing & as the fog starts to lift the cold hard reality of what their lives have become comes crashing through & both vow to break free of their respective prisons & find their way back to each other.
A hard thing to do when your every move is being watched. The thing about love, real love is that it supersedes all else, & something the vultures surrounding them couldn’t possibly understand.
Their minds are much sharper & clearer than they realize & when the time is right they will find their way back to each other. And then…..they will destroy those that tried to break them…for good.

This book is NONstop!!

Wow! I mean wow! This series is definitely not going to be for everyone, in fact I questioned myself a lot throughout book one, but I didn’t give up, and I’m so glad I didn’t. Because this series is a nonstop roller coaster that’s going to make you question everything.

This is the third and final book and after that cliff we were left dangling from book two I was thrilled with how Kristi wrapped this one up. As a Kristi fan, I was thrilled to see some of my favorite characters make an appearance and how they became a part of this world.

This book did its job, it gave us the restitution that was needed in the very best of ways. I always go in blind with Kristi’s books, I just think the experience is better that way, so if you are looking for a synopsis of the series you won’t get it from me, all I will say is read the triggers, because they are there for a reason. And then get ready for a wild ride!
