I loved reading another book about Elsa-May and Ettie. The books are truly entertaining and make me laugh aloud and shake my head! I am waiting fornthe next one now!
We get to start the New Year off with a new release from Samantha Price on January 2, 2025, Roost In Peace, Ettie Smith Amish Mysteries Book 29.
Ettie and her sister, Elsa-May find themselves in the middle of another whodunnit involving their friend, Freda, and some prize-winning chickens, and plenty of fowl play.
The storyline is well written and keeps you wondering what’s next.
The characters are developed well and really add to the story.
I highly recommend Roost in Pease.
I was given an ARC by the author, but was not ask to leave a positive review.
Review of Roost in Peace Roost in Peace had a lot of “Who Done It” or “Who Did Not”. However I was wrong to the end. Usually I can pick up the most likely person guilty of whatever. Each time a clue came in, you think you have the answer and then you scrap that person. Then they are working on another clue. The person that was guilty was definitely not the one I suspected. As always there is always something to laugh about. Ettie and Elsa-May are always bickering. I was on Elsa-May’s side most of the time. If I had to choose a Title for this book, I would have it as "Coffee and Cake", You'll understand when you read the book!
so excited when I started this book. I have really enjoyed these two elderly Amish sisters, through, the series that Samantha Price has written for us to read.
Who would ever have thought that the Amish people have murders in their community, and elderly lady detectives.
We have met some new characters, and I am looking forward to the next book so we can get to know them better.
If you are new to this series by Samantha Price. Please consider starting from book.1. It makes the books flow better.
What a cute cover! How could I resist reading this charming, cozy mystery.
Ettie and her sister, Elsa-May, are once again in the middle of another murder investigation with the help of their friend, Maggie, and Detective Kelly.
These stories are just what I need. Short. Sweet. And Surprising!
I enjoy Samantha Price's books. I have never read one that disappoints. So cluck on over and pick this one up!! Don't be a chicken.
In Book 29 the Ettie Smith Mysteries series Roost in Peace,” we follow the delightful escapades of sisters Ettie Smith and Elsa May, two Amish women with a knack for solving mysteries and a sharp sense of humor that keeps readers chuckling throughout the book. The plot thickens as they uncover secrets hidden beneath the surface of more than just chickens. Overall Roost in Peace is a delightful romp filled with clever twists and laugh-out-loud moments.
Nice mystery for Ettie to solve. Lots of blind alleys and 1 false arrest, so Detective Kelly needs help in the Amish community, so Ettie gets to work. I’ll be honest, I want to know what Freda is feeding those chickens myself. Anyway and escaped convict is found dead in Freda’s chicken coop and Ettie gets involved when Freda disappears. Quite a tale of deceit and criminal behavior I would say.
This book started out with a bang and didn’t let up! Of course the sisterly banter between Elsa-May and Ettie, the ever present Detective Kelly, the help of Maggie, the community gossip, along with many other most intriguing characters, only served to add to the already riveting story. Another winning addition to the Ettie Smith Mystery Series!
I’ve read this entire series on Kindle Unlimited and find it amusing and enjoyable. I love the quirky sisters, and it was fun to have a couple of friends also join them in their investigation this time. I find the author a little hit and miss, but this is one series I am happy to continue to follow and read and I hope it will keep on continuing.
These two engage two more Amish women in their search for the reason behind a murder. Wonderful new characters. Wonder where Maggie will fit in with future stories
This book was another great addition to the Ettie and Elsa-May mysteries. It had its twists and turns that kept you guessing until the very end. With a good dash of “egg”cellent humor from the sisters and their friends this book is hard to put down.
Ettie and Elsa Mae are a great pair of detectives. Solving all sorts of crimes. This book kept me wondering what would happen next. I recommend this series to everyone.
Super sleuthing sisters solve the case again. I love these two characters, Ettie and Elsa-Mae. I was so happy to see another installment of their escapades.
Roost In Peace is our great sleuths Ettie & Elsa-May! These two sisters are comical in their looking and snooping for clues, whenever something 'falls' into their laps. Once again, they end up at the right place, but at the wrong time, as usual. The two ladies begin their investigating into the matter, which takes hilarious twists & turns throughout the story. The ladies are visiting a friend, when all things go south. From there, their adventure begins. These two make laugh out loud reading about the things they do and come up with. There is never a dull moment in any of the stories about them! You won't be able to stop turning the pages! If you haven't read any of the books about Ettie Smith & her sister Elsa-May, you are missing out on great stories! They are all clean, Christian, mystery, Amish stories. You will, truly, love them!!
