When Emma vanishes without a trace, Amanda unearths secrets that could tear her town apart—but will anyone believe her?
When seven-year-old Emma disappears, her stepmother Amanda uncovers dark secrets lurking in their small town. Facing corrupt police and uncooperative locals, Amanda and her niece Renee follow chilling clues leading to a familiar neighbor with a hidden, deadly past. Racing to save Emma, they risk everything to expose a truth that could destroy their town.
I enjoyed the story, but it was written in a way that suggested there was a narrator when the story should be experienced through the characters' points of view and through dialogue. Show, don't tell is one of the golden rules.
