I’d say Mrs. Impulsive bukan sekadar romcom biasa yang hanya fokus pada hubungan antara MCs, but it’s packed with emotional twists too. The author really knows how to pull you in, buatkan kita nak keep flipping pages untuk tahu pasal backstory she’s set up, especially about the non-existent mother-and-daughter relationship. Serious talk, I WAS HOOKED.
Hani Aleesya. Honestly, I want what she has as my spirit animal (minus the intrusive thoughts cause I could never handle that HAHA). Plus, dia punya ‘jobless’ tu memang on another level, plot twist betul. STEM GIRLY COULDN’T RELATE. Yes. I’m that girly. I adore gilsss dengan Hani—she’s such a strong character. Dia bukan jenis yang senang-senang biar orang pijak kepala, especially after dealing with her relatives’ harsh treatment (Mak Ngah dengan Hanis kau memang asjdfklj ☠️). She knows her worth, berani stand up for herself, and protects her little family. I love seeing Hani being CONFIDENT and BOLD, and that SLAP SCENE is definitely my favorite Hani moment 🫦. Tapi sedihlah bila dapat tahu apa sebenarnya jadi dekat dia and her sister, Hana. It’s an unfortunate event for them to face that tragic experience.
Aaris Zachry. Kacak, PENYABAR, lemah lembut, pandai, bekerjaya. I’m convinced he’s scooped up all five love languages at once, but for sure girlies who love words of affirmation, quality time, and gift-giving would be head over heels with Ris. The way he constantly reassures Hani is just ✨chef’s kiss✨. He knows his girl feels hard to love, but he’s there, ready to give every ounce of love he has as if it’s in his DNA. And don’t get me started on the proposals—he proposed to Hani twice, but the third time??? ohmagad, I was actually starstruck. Like, this guy went and made an animation of their love story 🦋💐🌍💕. GUE JUGA MAU KAYAK GINI. ✍🏻 cari ✍🏻 partner ✍🏻 kerja ✍🏻 game developer. That single scene altered my brain chemistry. I swear, I’ll never recover. I also love how he perceives things in a positive way tapi kadang-kadang rasa nak marah jugak, gereyyy aku. Bak kata Hani “cik abang, kenapa pasrah sangat.” But for sure, Ris is the definition of a massive and honored upgrade. This tattooed guy sarat dengan kata-kata yang menyedarkan. One minute he’s talking like a programming book and later, he’s quoting like it’s straight out of a kitab.
Datuk Haslina. She needs to be on this list because she doesn’t even deserve to be called a mother. From the start, the way she keeps objectifying her own daughter (read: Hani) is just plain sickening. I couldn’t help but wonder apa sebenarnya masalah mak dia ni. Like, who in their right mind would gamble with their own child’s future just for a business deal. Then, bila tahu the actual reason kenapa mak dia tak suka Hani… ooff, mind-blowing. LIKE, WHY 🤨?! But I also find it refreshing to see a story tackle this kind of mother-daughter issue because honestly, perangai macam ni memang wujud and it’s painfully realistic. The only thing I can’t get over is that we never get to see her apologize to Hani and Hana. Those girls deserve so much better.
And kak Asya, hands down, has mastered the art of making non-romantic moments feel straight-up romantic (or maybe that’s just me being a hopeless romantic, but still). Also, I suka bila author buat characters yang ada flaws sendiri, yang sedar diri mereka tak sempurna dan tak judge orang berdasarkan kisah silam. Except for that one scene when Hani tiba-tiba tanya, “sah ke doa makan awak tu?” ✋🏻😭🤚🏻 SAVANNAH SLOW DOWN. That was so random.
Lastly, buku ni is a light read with a punch of plot twists thrown in between. The pace is just right. You can literally feel every emotion as you read—comel, kelakar, geli-geli, sedih, marah—everything hits at the right moments. So, if you want Ris to be your muse and have a man who’s literally tattooed your heart with his love (🤡), then go grab yours.
