Claw Haven #1

Accidentally Wedded to a Werewolf

Rate this book
Spoiled heiress Luna Stack is on her way to see her fiancé when her car breaks down, leaving her stranded in snowy Claw Haven, a cozy town full of monsters living the quiet life. It’s a harmless place to spend the night before she resumes her real life with her rich family and a fun-loving fiancé who adores her.

But when Luna accidentally evokes a marriage ritual magically bonding her with the werewolf who snarled at her when she asked if his inn had a vacancy, it looks like real life will have to get put on hold.

Grumpy werewolf Oliver Musgrove wants nothing to do with his new “wife.” He has annoying, friendly townsfolk to ignore and an inn to fix. Not to mention, he still has to convince his grandmother that he can take over as alpha of their small pack despite his trust issues, which have left him unable to shift. Unfortunately, the ritual means that staying away from Luna causes him physical pain. Not that he’ll ever let it show.

But when Oliver storms off and shortly passes out in agony, he and Luna realize they’ll have to work together until they can break the bond.

However, the longer they’re stuck together, the more they start to think that an accidental marriage may be just what they need…

[“Accidentally Wedded To A Werewolf” is a full-length cozy monster romance with medium spice. It is part of the Claw Haven series but can be read as a standalone.

This book is for the ones who love to read books with werewolves in it! It’s a monster romance story! I found this book to be emotional, funny, lighthearted and hopeful. It is a fast paced read that has likable and unlikable characters in it. I think that the female main character was not likable. However, the male main character I liked a lot! I love how the author strongly developed these characters! I also loved the vivid imagery of small town in Alaska.

This is definitely a grumpy and sunshine romance and contains a forced proximity between the two main characters. I really enjoyed the banter and the humor in the story. What I didn’t like about the female main character, whose name is Luna, is that she is engaged to another guy before meeting this werewolf. Luna also seems very self centered. However, I do love the cozy setting of this story and the supernatural creatures in it! I do feel like it was a Twilight and Hallmark movie mixed together. I absolutely loved the world building this book had!

“Accidentally Wedded to a Werewolf” is a novel about a woman named Luna. Luna’s car ends up breaking down and she gets stranded by a snowstorm in Claw Haven, Alaska. She ends up meeting Oliver, who is a werewolf innkeeper. A magical potion happens and the story unravels into an attraction between each other. Overall, I rate this book a 3 out of 5 stars.

I think fans of monster romances, that have an immersive world building, would really enjoy reading this book! Content warnings include sexual content.

Thank you to NetGalley, author Isabelle Taylor and Harlequin - Romance for this digital ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. All thought and opinions expressed are my own.

This book is expected to be published on October 7, 2025!

Before I say anything about the actual contents of the book, I'd like to talk about the narrator. She conveyed the spoiled valley girl to a tea. Which of course was a bit irritating but accurate nonetheless.

My favorite part of this entire book was the setting. Small town with all sorts of paranormal creatures. Everything you could ever think of is right here in Claw Haven. Another thing I enjoyed was the overall pacing of the book. It didn't drag or feel too rushed--it was just perfect.

˚₊ ⟢┊characters 🧣┊⊹࣪⋆

Luna:

Luna reminded me of Elle Woods. Her family thinks that all she's good for is throwing parties and having fun. But deep inside, she longs to be something more. She's tired of being the "fun girl" all the time and seeing her character growth throughout the book is pretty cool.

Now for the insufferable part of her character. Man did the narrator do a good job of making her voice and attitude annoying. Sometimes when she spoke, I wanted to claw my hair out. Spoil heiress valley girl who throws daddy's money at all her problems. Despite this, I really liked seeing her transformation.

Oliver:

Guys, I just wanted to give Oliver a big hug. I thought he was an amazing love interest and frankly, Luna didn't deserve him. Although I didn't think Oliver's growth and transformation was as radical as Luna's, I did enjoy it immensely. Plus who doesn't want a sexy werewolf who's also emotionally mature??!! Um sign me up please.

***Thanks to the publisher for the e-ARC on NetGalley!***

This is a DNF for me at 28% and I’m going to explain why.

Maybe I’m not cut out for cozy romances. I don’t understand the boundaries the subgenre works in. A lot of stuff keeps getting brushed off like a cutesy moment that I would like them to address. But they don’t.

The FMC (Luna, yes she has a moon name) is a rich socialite from Los Angeles, engaged, and just wants to be taken seriously by her father (who is the CEO of their family company). She attends a work conference in Alaska, and on her way back to the airport, she winds up stuck in a monster-friendly town, Claw Haven, until the snow thaws.

The MMC (Oliver) is the owner of the only hotel in town and a werewolf who can’t shift. Except that part is a secret he’s somehow keeping from his extremely close-knit family who live in the hotel with him. His grandmother is the current alpha and he’s the next in line.

When Oliver accidentally drinks a magical werewolf bonding potion and Luna also drinks the random potion laying around thinking it’s alcohol, they are essentially werewolf married.

You do kind of have to go along with the story because no one’s really explaining how any of this works. And there is some magical divorce flower that can annul this but there’s a shortage and isn’t easily obtained of course. The premise is kind of cute? Who doesn’t like an accidental marriage?

I will say a pro for this book for me is that the publisher’s cover is really good and what initially attracted me to this book in the first place, and I don’t usually go for illustrated covers. The prose is also super easy to read.

However. We do need to talk about the fact that Luna is STILL ENGAGED. To her human fiancé, Hector. The thing is, he’s super chill and NICE. Everything just kind of rolls off him so maybe he’s too chill. Because we conveniently find out that him and Luna have an open relationship arrangement and she hooks up with other guys, and their whole thing is that they talk about it and they don’t fall in love with other people. RIGHT AFTER we find this out, Luna immediately jumps into bed with Oliver.

The bond they have pains them when they’re too far apart from one another and in other books, I think this premise could be super sexy. Except the entire time at the back of my mind, I keep wanting Luna to hurry up and break up with her fiancé. This would be easier to accept if Hector was awful, but he’s not. And I’m supposed to believe Oliver is so okay and believes Luna when she confesses she’s in an open relationship that he hears that and immediately has sex with her when not even an hour earlier they were arguing and haven’t known each other for 24 hours?

This all just happens SO fast. The sex scene here at the start is explicit but not entirely sensual in my opinion, but it happened. I’m not a fan of how this came about and how fast they got together. But YMMV.

I like grumpy Oliver because there’s an explanation to why he is the way he is now. And I was a fan of Luna until the throwaway line that’s totally not needed about her (accidentally) throwing out her college boyfriend’s grandfather’s ashes just because she’s vapid enough to want a vase for flowers she got herself celebrating her HALF birthday. My goodness. She doesn’t reflect on this or seem to feel bad about this at all. But this does make me hate her quite a bit.

I know this is an ARC, so maybe the version uploaded to NetGalley contains the previous self-published text and not the newly edited text because I hope this gets removed. It’s not needed and really chilled me on the character from that moment on.

Other edits I would expect to see is Los Angeles abbreviated as “L.A.” rather than the “LA” in this ARC because they don’t mean Louisiana. And also, if there’s no cell service and Luna didn’t download any offline maps, how did she navigate and find reviews on this Claw Haven hotel in the middle of nowhere? Makes no sense.

The ensemble of characters around town are actually pretty interesting, although there’s really no explanation how things work. Admittedly, the rest of the book could explain it and I just haven’t gotten to that part yet.

You have “monsters” like the werewolves who can shift between human and wolf forms. But then you also have a dragon and a hedgehog who are human sized but fully LOOK like what they are with wings, tails, scales, quills, muzzles, and all. It’s confusing. Maybe this is a norm in monster romances? I don’t know. I am not familiar. Most shifter books are characters that are either in human form or not. I’ve never read the ones being in monster form 24/7. I thought everyone would be vegan as a result but, no, they eat steak. So what are the world building rules? What is an animal you can eat vs what is not? I simply do not know.

The characters are nice and I like them. I assume the rest of the series takes place here in Claw Haven. This is a small town and they are busybodies but they mean well.

The book is easy enough to read. It is in dual alternating POVs and third-person past tense. I think readers who yearn for a cozy paranormal monster romance could really love this if the open relationship aspect of the FMC’s character is something the reader can overlook. It’s something I can go with in a dark romance because the “other guy” is usually terrible but poor Hector here is too nice and I don’t love the vibes the story leaves me with because it makes it impossibly hard to root for Luna and Oliver together as a result.

This was a cute and fast read. With all the small town vibes with a hot a steamy side of shifter romance.

Luna is on her way to a beach resort with her fun loving fiance, when her travels land her in the small town of Claw Haven in a small rundown inn. Oliver is the second in his werewolf pack, and he's also in charge of the family business of the inn, when a city girl walks into his lobby in clothes not appropriate for the blizzard weather.

They get her checked into one of the guest rooms, and when she comes downstairs to join their open house party, she accidentally drinks from the ceremonial marriage bottle, and ends up married to the grumpy Oliver.

For the next few weeks, Luna and Oliver have to stay a few dozen feet from each other or Oliver will pass out from the pain. While she's there, Luna decides to put her talents for graphic design and marketing to the test and revamp this little cute town into something cozy, chic, and winter wonderland-esque.

This was a cute little read, but it didn't really stand out to me.

this was stupidly enjoyable. Like I’m 110% sure any criticism you could come up with for this book is true but I don’t give a fuckin hoot. I binged the hell out of this and loved it. Yeah, sure, Luna is kind of an annoying FMC and Oliver had his issues. And I ate them UP! I love the goofy ass werewolf family. I love their cozy little town. and I cannot get over him when Luna calls him a “good boy”. The knotting was also a pleasant surprise!

3.5 stars! Accidentally Wedded to a Werewolf was a fun one! Very easy, quick read with It Happened One Summer vibes (but make it cozy fantasy). Grumpy x sunshine, cozy paranormal, fated mates, werewolf hero x human heroine, Alaska setting.

Claw Haven is a cozy town full of monsters living the quiet life in small-town Alaska. Luna is a bit of a spoiled heiress who gets trapped in the town while traveling for a work trip for her father’s company. She checks in at the local inn owned by new-to-town werewolves and finds herself meeting Oliver, the grumpy werewolf innkeeper. After a potion mishap, the two end up bonded and “magically married” to one another! They can get a local flower to remove the bond but have to wait until winter is over to access it.

Cute and fun. Snowed in town vibes, his family was fun (grandmother, brother, sister-in-law, nephew). Audiobook is on hoopla and a quick, easy listen to spend the day with.

Accidentally Wedded to a Werewolf by Isabelle Taylor

The FMC is a bit insufferable at times, but the MMC was genuinely likable. The story itself is fun and entertaining, definitely an interesting twist on the werewolf/mating bond trope but overall, it didn’t feel particularly memorable or groundbreaking.

That said, it’s a great pick for readers who enjoy quirky love stories, fated mates, and a slightly ditsy main character. If you’re in the mood for something light and whimsical with a paranormal twist, this one might be for you.

Where are all my werewolf shifter lovers? Well, this will make a nice addition to the top of your TBR list for sure!
I really enjoyed reading this shifter accidental marriage story.
It gives winter mountains, cozy cabin, small town. It's such a fun opposites, human rich girl-mountain man/shifter romance. Ok, so Luna comes off as annoying at first, she's an entitled, spoiled, rich, valley girl who happens to be already engaged to her perfect match, but she does go through a great character development. Meanwhile, Oliver is your reclusive, grumpy mountain man with serious PTSD, and his heart does eventually thaw for Luna.
This story contains lots of spice, a cheating pact, knotting, and a happy ending.

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

What happens when a rich girl from California is driving through a snowy town in Alaska? She crashes her car of course. Right into the sign of the inn she was looking for. There she meets a very grumpy man who just isn’t having a good day at all. Or year for that matter. The cherry on top was them both accidentally drinking out a bottle for bonding ceremonies. Guess who is married now!

It was a funny, cute, spicy little read. 3.5 stars rounded up.

3.5 ⭐

I love cozy fantasies and I love books with werewolves so it was a no brainer I would want to read this book. I did enjoy the plot, the concept was fun and silly and it really worked for the book. It's an easy book to read, fairly fast paced. The characters were a hit or miss. The FMC Luna (which don't even get me started on her name being Luna in a werewolf romance...) is not a likeable character in any sense. She is annoying and so so so unlikable. On the other hand I really loved Oliver and his family, they are truly the only reason I read the whole book. The romance was okay, it had it's annoying moments but also really cute and heart warming ones!

The audiobook was good, I just didn't like how whiny the narrator made Luna sound but other than that it was good!

this book really wanted to be a cozy monster read but it just lacked in structure, depth and character development. i found myself asking multiple times, "is this book supposed to be satire?" cause it genuinely left like the author was trying to make fun of the cozy monster genre that's gotten a lot of attention lately.

the fmc was SOOOO unlikeable, i genuinely did not care for her at all. she was extremely stupid and honestly unlikeable from beginning to end.

the entire plot had me rolling my eyes.

this was a weird one cause i really wanted to like this book but it was so disappointing.

i also got the audiobook so huge shoutout to the narrator Jade Wheeler for helping me get through it

⭐️ 3 stars

Tropes & Themes:
🔹 Grumpy x sunshine
🔹 Accidentally married 💍🐺
🔹 Small town full of supernatural creatures
🔹 Forced proximity
🔹 Slow burn with magical tension ❄️🌙🛏️

Okay this was honestly really cute and super cozy even if it didn’t totally blow me away 🐾 Accidentally Wedded to a Werewolf follows Luna, a spoiled heiress who gets stranded in a snowy little monster town (as one does lol) and ends up magically married to a grumpy werewolf named Oliver. Chaos and magical bonding ensues 🫠

The vibes? Hallmark movie meets Twilight with a sprinkle of cottagecore monster romance. Luna and Oliver are total opposites. She is high maintenance and sparkly, he’s broody and emotionally constipated but their banter was cute and the bonded pain if they’re apart thing added some real tension. I also loved the charming little town and all the supernatural side characters.

My main issue was just that the plot felt a little repetitive in the middle and the emotional development didn’t hit quite as hard as I wanted. It had some ✨potential✨ to be deeper or funnier, but kind of stayed in the mid range zone. Still it was a fun and cozy escape read!

Final Thoughts:
If you’re in the mood for something light, magical and a little ridiculous in the best way, Accidentally Wedded to a Werewolf is an easy pick. Not life changing, but charming, sweet, and full of wintery monster romance fluff ❄️💘🐺

3.5 stars rounded up for the vibes.

Our FMC, Luna (not a werewolf, but with a moon name), ends up snowed in for a night in a small town full of monsters. She’s checked into the inn by a grumpy wolf shifter, who she accidentally bonds herself to (you’ll see). The “divorce flower” (yes, lol) they need to break the bond is buried beneath the winter snow. Luna and her now-husband, Oliver, are stuck together until spring, when the snow melts and they can get to the flowers.

This is such a cozy, sweet romance. Luna is the perfect mix of ditzy sunshine while still being relatable and likable. I'll definitely be reading the next books in the series.
My main critique is that the shift from not accepting the situation to realizing they wanted each other felt a bit abrupt.

Thank you to Harlequin and Isabelle Taylor for the ARC copy of this book.

did-not-finish
August 28, 2025
Did not finish at 47%.. There are some mild spoilers below... but nothing that would give away the story too much (especially since I didn't finish)

I received this audiobook as an advanced reader copy.. I thought I would give this book a chance (FAR past where I would usually stop reading) because I had received this as an ARC and I wanted to do what I could to get through it, but it's a VERY poorly plotted and charactered story that had so many annoying elements, I decided to stop torturing myself and let it go.

As the book was published last year, I'm guessing they want to get the audiobook some love. And the narrator isn't bad. She brings the characters to life. The hard thing is that the characters are so very unlikeable.

The female main character is from a wealthy family where she's encouraged to live a life of leisure and actively discouraged from using her gifts in graphic design and marketing. She reads as a spoiled, clueless, and somewhat unintelligent woman who has some great skills she's too afraid to use.

The male main character is a scared and angry manbaby who is too protective to use his brain. He lets his family's inn's roof cave in because he won't let an expert work on it. There were so many times where he acted like a toddler. "I'll do it myself" (even though he has no idea how to do something). If it were only strangers that he doesn't trust, it might make sense, but he also pushes his own family and loved ones away. He's extremely rude to the heroine and even pushes her away to the extent it physically harms him.

Beyond the main characters, there are SO MANY THINGS that made NO SENSE!

1. Heroine is attending a work conference in Alaska during the winter. Does she pack for the winter? No. She brings clothes she's planning on wearing to the Bahamas. Explain why this makes sense? Why would she attend a work conference last minute and not even pack for it? Why is the work conference in Alaska? Why would the work conference in Alaska be far enough away from an airport that she could get lost in a snowstorm?

2. The pair accidentally bond/mate because of a magic drink. WTF!? No consent or desire to connect needed? No intent? It's bizarre. I could live with that, if the relationship weren't so uninteresting and actively awful.

3. The heroine is engaged to a man she seems to like. She says she loves him and they have a pretty great relationship from all signs. They talk all the time and she tells him everything. I found it weird that he is cool with them having an open relationship. .For now, he's encouraged her to sleep with other men, including the hero. He tells her "do whatever you want, as long as you don't fall in love". I will NEVER understand open relationships. That's not something I want for myself or for my characters. But, there was nothing about him that made me think "oh, she's made a mistake and she really needs to be in a relationship with a turd of a man who is actually quite cruel and asshole-like to her rather than this sweet understanding man who seems to genuinely like, appreciate, and support her".

4. They get accidentally bonded... but need a special flower to unbond. IT'S WINTER IN ALASKA! But they act like they just need to dig in the snow and find a flower. I didn't get to a part where they actually find a flower, but there are countless conversations and scenes about going up the mountain to find a flower. In California, we have flowers in the winter time... but in places that snow and freeze? No. I don't think so.

Basically, this book is nonsense and contains a lot of ideas that don't make me happy in a romance. I want to have likeable characters who aren't in relationships with other people and treat each other with some respect and kindness. This is NOT my cup of tea and I do not recommend.

This is a Paranormal Small Town Romance, and this is the first book in the Claw Haven series. The beginning of this book I hated, and I almost DNF several times. I read this book by listening to the audiobook for this book, and I liked the audiobook. I really did not like the main female character because she is a spoiled rich girl. I loved the main male character because him had the lovable grumpy thing going on. I do not normally pick up monster romances, but I enjoyed the monster parts of this book. I think the town would be so cute fun. I loved getting to know all the characters, and I think I will have to keep reading this series. I did not like the kind of cheating thing going on in this book, and I still do not like the female main character. I did love the ending, and I ended up getting totally pulled into this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Note: Some of my goodreads shelves can be spoilers

Overall: 3.5 rounded to 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Readability: 📖📖📖 (I struggled a bit with this one, but fell into the latter half of the audiobook a bit easier)
Feels: 🦋🦋🦋
Emotional Depth: 💔💔💔💔
Sexual Tension: ⚡⚡⚡ (I felt like they fell into this while still not even really liking each other and the ‘mates’ thing just took the tension from me)
Romance: 💞💞💞
Sensuality: 💋💋💋💋
Sex Scene Length: 🍑🍑🍑🍑
Steam Scale (Number of Sex Scenes): 🔥🔥🔥 (at least...my notes weren’t the best)
Humor: Yes
Perspective: third person from both the hero and heroine
More character focused or plot focused? character
How did the speed of the story feel? slow to medium
When mains are first on page together: takes a little bit - chapter 3, about 6%
Cliffhanger: No, this ends with a happily ever after for the mains
Epilogue: Yes, one year later
Format: voluntarily started an advanced reader copy through NetGalley in e-book form then finished on audio
Why I chose this book: I liked the cover and wanted more monster romance in my life
Mains: Oliver and Luna – this is a M/F relationship between a werewolf hero and human heroine
(Descriptions found at end of my review)

Should I read in order?
This is the first book in Taylor’s Claw Haven series.

Basic plot:
When Luna crashes her car in the snowy weather, she finds shelter at Claw Haven’s local hotel

Give this a try if you want:
- monster romance
- contemporary time frame
- Alaska setting
- werewolf hero / human heroine
- big family / side characters
- hero’s family owns an inn
- close proximity in the mountainside cave
- she nurses him back to health
- bonded mates with some combined thinking (telepathy)
- medium (?) steam? – I didn’t take the best notes but think there’s like 3-4ish full scenes...plus knotting!

Ages:
I didn’t catch either

First line:
Luna glared out at the snow disdainfully.

My thoughts:
I struggled with this one at first. I didn’t love either main, but the hero especially was just hard for me to like. He seemed very sullen. The heroine had a way of speaking that was jarring to me at first – kind of a Valley girl stereotype.

But I started to fall in love with the heroine – she was so sweet and vulnerable underneath her confident facade. I loved seeing her open up. I liked this one more than the other Claw Haven novel I read – but I think the side characters gave this book a bit more life.

I just didn’t feel the romance in this one. I never grew to love the hero, the tension wasn’t there for me. And while I liked the heroine, I just thought all the relationship drama between them mains and her and her fiance went on way too long.

Few random reading stats for this author

A fun and cozy read for October! The premise of it was very exciting and the characters were really wholesome. When the human FMC’s car breaks down, she ends up stranded in Claw Haven during a snowstorm. However, it gets prolonged because she gets into an accidental marriage to the brooding werewolf inkeeper after drinking a magical potion.

It quite a silly read but I loved the forced proximity and grumpy/sunshine dynamic. This was pretty quick to get through and it was fun to see different supernatural monsters work together in this town. I wish the book had more plot because I wanted more of the werewolf lore.

The main events were kind of all over the place and the romance started way too early with the spice. So, it was a bit underwhelming after they got together. Luna is your typical preppy rich heiress because of her upbringing and she could have used more character development. There were a few scenes where she redeems herself but she was pretty alright by the end.

The humor was very entertaining and there a couple of funny scenes in between the banter. I also really loved how Oliver was so protective of both Luna and his family! I still wanted to see more moments of their relationship together. Overall, I thought this was okay but I still had a fun time with it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the eARC!

These Claw Haven books are freaking fantastic!!

I was literally so giddy reading about these enemies to lovers, opposites who attracted in the best ways!! I loved their back and forth, often being the only people to see each other’s true selves, even with them shutting out their bond. When they got into their first sparring match, before they were even bonded, I could just tell these two were going to rip each other apart in ALL THE WAYS!!

I loved watching Luna’s character develop from the “party girl” who everyone went to only for a fun time to a dedicated and loyal marketing entrepreneur. I hated how she, and everyone in her old life, chalked her up to just a pretty, fun girl when she had so much to offer, but I LOVED watching her grab that potential by the scruff and level TF up!! Her finding that she loved putting her all into something and seeing results, as opposed to living a lavish lifestyle full of parties that lasted one night, was such a fantastic transition to watch. I also loved how easily she folded into the Musgrove family and really became one of them!

And Oliver. Oh, how I love a grumpy guy with secrets, who goes soft for the woman of his dreams!! I loved watching his character development as he went from a lonely, grumpy man who couldn’t shift to a man who opened his heart and his arms to another human and ultimately got his wolf back along with his happily ever after!! I also loved how supportive he was of Luna and how he opened up her eyes to her not “just being a fun girl”, but being someone with grit and wonderful ideas.

I loved the entire Musgrove family, yes, even Uncle Roy with his surly ways. I found they were such a wonderful and close-knit family I wouldn’t mind being part of if I had to choose a fictional family to join. I especially loved how Grandmother was the “alpha”, and while she was poised and highly respected, she was also a bit of shenanigans player 😉

Lastly, I loved the small town and all the characters we got to meet. With Luna helping to create a cohesive image for the town and an ultimate tourist destination, we got to meet a lot of the folks, which I thoroughly enjoyed! I literally CANNOT WAIT for Vi’s and Nick’ book!

Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Audio, Harlequin, Isabelle Taylor, and Jade Wheeler (audio narrator) for the opportunity to read and listen to the audiobook of Accidentally Wedded to a Werewolf in exchange for an honest review.

Luna is engaged. As an affluent heiress, she is ready for her tropical paradise getaway with her fiancé, but a snowstorm brings her to seeking refuge in a small Alaskan town known as Claw Haven. Here she stays in the local hotel, but when an accidental mishap occurs with a ritualistic potion wine, she finds herself accidentally Wedded to Oliver, the handsome inn-keeper. He may be nice to look at, but she certainly doesn't enjoy what comes out of his mouth. Oh, and he's a werewolf.

On the bright side, Luna and Oliver are only "werewolf" wedded though the ritualistic wine, not actually matrimonially wedded. They aim to keep the bond from fully forming, but they decide to still indulge in each other's company...just for fun. Luna is engaged already, after all... They just need to wait for snowmelt to get the special flower to break their bond  before it becomes permanent.

The novel is a fun paranormal romantic comedy that is pretty predictable, but perfect for cozy romantasy readers. It has a sunshine and grump dynamic along with forced proximity, due to the snowstorm, for lovers of that trope. The language is quirky and the story is just an overall enjoyable read.

Did you enjoy Bride by Ali Hazelwood? Werewolf Romance fans rejoice! This will certainly be one of your top picks.

Kay I have a lot of thoughts about this book so buckle up.

First off, I had a true love-hate relationship with the characters in this book. Specifically the fmc and her fiancé. The rest were fine. Nothing crazy or too memorable or messy.

The fmc, Luna, is your typical blonde heiress who needs be spa’s and had everything handed to her. Do you have any idea how much I hate people like that?! Okay so it was for the plot. I get it. I GET IT I SWEAR. She was also just ditzy enough that it was laughable and I was able to get through it easily enough without wanting to faceplant (too hard).

Now on to possible spoilers (I mean we all know she fucks a shifter so I guess not). She has a pact(?) with her fiancé that they can fuck other people as long as they don’t fall in love. WELL WHERE CAN THAT GO WRONG, HUH 😑 Don’t worry honey, you can fuck who you want, as long as you come home to me and my penthouse and my butler. Like god it just ICKED ME BAD.

The story was actually very cute. It showed the growth and character development, maybe not in a common way? But still had it nonetheless.

So yes, there’s cheating. There is angst. There is internal conflict. There is a lot of back and forth between what they think they want and what they actually want. In the end, it was fine. I would honestly recommend the book just so someone could go through that with me. Not in a bad way, I think?

Overall, 2.5 ⭐️, 1 🌶️!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Harlequin for gifting me an advanced copy of this story!

I really struggled to get into this story. It started off on the wrong foot for me with Luna already having a fiancée. Who she “conveniently” has an open relationship with. It seems like such an unnecessary plot point and it’s not resolved prior to Oliver and Luna’s first romantic encounter.

I enjoy the cozy small town monster genre, but this book did not work for me. I ultimately decided to DNF.

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin for this ARC and the opportunity to leave an honest review.

Received as an ARC from NetGalley.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Sweet and cozy shifter romance set in the town of Claw Haven.

This book was a pleasure to read. Gives you warm and comfy feelings whilst reading. I did not want the story to end.

Misunderstood Oliver runs the Inn with his family, when Luna comes barrelling into his life like a hurricane.

The connection they share, other than the bond, can be felt through the pages. The sexual chemistry is pure fire throughout.

Lots of vulnerability in the undertone of the book, which helps them get to know each other more, and adds to the greatness of the story.

Very likeable characters and a well written plot.
The only critic is that I believe the ending was cut off too soon.

Cannot wait to read more from this series.

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was such a fun, cozy small-town monster romance! In book one of the Claw Haven series, we meet Oliver, a broody werewolf innkeeper, and Luna, a sunshine-y human who gets stranded in Claw Haven during a snowstorm. Thanks to a little “oops” moment with some mating nectar, she finds herself magically bonded to Oliver—even though she’s already engaged to someone else. The setup was quirky and bingeable, and I loved how it blended paranormal romance tropes with a lighthearted, Hallmark-movie-in-a-monster-town vibe.

I especially enjoyed Luna as a character—she could have easily become frustrating, but instead she was fun, charming, and really grew on me. Oliver took a little longer to warm up to with all his grumpy walls, but once we got his backstory I felt for him so much. His family completely stole the show (minus one skeptical uncle, but hey, there’s always one). The town itself was another highlight—Claw Haven was atmospheric, cozy, and filled with colorful side characters I can’t wait to learn more about in future books.

The romance is sunshine/grump at its core, and the banter was adorable. Yes, there’s some spice, but the heart of the story really is watching these two reluctantly bond, grow closer, and learn to trust each other.

I do wish we’d gotten a bit more detail about the hunters and how humans truly view monsters—there’s definitely some tension hinted at—but overall, this was a fun, escapist read that reminded me how much I love werewolf romances.

And the best part? I already have the ARC for the next book in the series, and I can’t wait to dive back into Claw Haven!

Thanks to NetGalley for an early copy of this book.

Luna is heading home from a conference related to her job, and she is anxious to get to her fiance and their tropical wedding destination. She gets caught in a snowstorm, and crashes through the sign of an inn in the small town in Alaska called Claw Haven In this alternate universe, monsters are real, and Claw Haven is a sanctuary for them. The inn is run by the Musgrove Family, who are werewolves.
Luna and the grumpy werewolf who runs the inn, Oliver, accidentally share a love potion, and are then considered "married" by the werewolf community. A rare flower is needed to break this bond, and so Luna is forced to stay in Claw Haven until the weather breaks, and someone is able to go up the mountain and collect this flower. Mayhem ensues.

I had a hard time liking Luna. She starts out as a selfish and shallow character who always wants to be the "fun" person. I was bothered by the fact that even though she was supposed to be getting married in a few weeks, she and she started sleeping with Oliver. She and her fiance, Hector, did agree on an "open relationship," but I still considered that an infidelity. However, Luna does do a lot of growing up in the course of the novel, and she is quite a different person at the end.

I did love the Musgrove Family as well as the other residents of Claw Haven. It is a quirky small town with many interesting characters. I wouldn't mind hearing more about some of their stories (in particular the shy, Orc mechanic and the human woman who works in the bookshop).

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

Luna annoyed me half the book and the rest was a small town full of magical creatures and a little bit of spice. I liked it but it took a while to get through.
