After discovering her husband’s affair, Mila Lawson leaves their broken marriage and returns home with a car loaded to the roof and an impending divorce. Nothing beats surrounding herself with love and support from her sister and the Martini Girls. A new opportunity presents itself with the expansion of the bar and Mila takes it without thinking twice. It is exactly what she needs to start over and enjoy the holidays. Except, coming home faces its own challenges, like Becker James Reed. Her first heartbreak.
Raising an eleven-year-old daughter is a piece of cake, said no one ever, but Becker James Reed loves every moment of it. Nothing beats surrounding himself with vintage T-shirts and pink roller skates. The opening of The Wine Girl Bar is a success, and the holiday celebrations are in full swing, which means a new hire is being added to the crew. Except, seeing her everyday reminds him of what they once had. Mila Lawson. His only love.
This book is a delightful read that will leave you laughing, crying, and cheering for the characters as they navigate their paths to love. I highly recommend it if you want a laugh out loud romcom with Golden Girl vibes!
Make sure to check your trigger warnings as it does deal with some heavy topics!
Tropes: single dad, second chance, workplace romance, bar romance, small town romance, circle of friends, and sassy elders who love to play naughty scrabble (yes you read that right).
Favorite Quote: "Everyone has a version of the good side versus the naughty side. A conscious. Who would you listen to?"....."Whatever you do...listen to Tails".
Fabulous second chance to first love romance! Mila returns home after her broken marriage and runs into her first love Beck! Mila and Beck have an amazing bantering. The Martini Girls are hilarious and supportive! Enjoyed reading! Highly recommend!
It was so good to get back to this rowdy bunch; especially Halo + Tails!
I believe I've said it before, but I’ll say it again, my absolute favorite part of this entire series is the large found family. There are so many amazing people in this group + I adore how they all come together for any + everything! Need help with a problem? Want to pull off a grand “romantical gesture”? Have a dream you want to bring to fruition? Someone will activate the call tree + help is on the way! Even if the help includes a group of meddling + naughty grandmothers also known as The Vintage Ladies; never a dull moment when this lot shows up!
I really enjoyed Beck + Mila’s story. It’s a little different from Loving Whiskey + Forever Luna because Beck + Mila have such a long history, going back to when they were teens. After they split up during college, both of them go through a lot. When they find themselves being forced back together decades later, it’s time to work through some things + share some secrets, making this book a little more touching than the others.
There are some heavy topics discussed in this book so make sure to check those out at the beginning of the book.
We also get a peek into who the next couple is going to be + while it isn’t the couple I was hoping for (yet), I’m extremely excited to read their story!
Cooper has quickly become one of my comfort read authors and after rereading this novel for the third time I realised I never posted a review for this book. There's nothing I love more than reading about an fmc who is on a self healing journey after a bad breakup, theres something about seeing other women glowing up and moving on that really gets me feeling warm and fuzzy. Mila is a loveable character that im sure we all can see our selves in or relate too in some way shape or form, Gracie has a way with writing characters that feel like your friends even though you just spend a couple chapters with them.
This novel is filled to the brim with loveable characters and a plot that is interesting but also comforting. Im also a sucker for tropes and this book is jam packed with some of the best ones, from small town romance to single dads, trust me when I say you need to hop on over and get yourself a copy of this one asap. If you're like me and love a good rom com that's filled with romance but also lots of laughable moments then this book is for you.
Always Mila by Gracie Cooper was such a great read. I’m already a fan of this author’s writing ability so I was thrilled when I got my eyes on this. Not to mention I thought the cover of the book was beautiful. When I started this book I was almost immediately captured in the story. This was a perfect second chance, found family read that I didn’t know I needed by truly appreciated. I truly enjoyed reading Mila and Beck finding themselves/ coming back together. But a highlight for me was the banter, it was some of the best. I thought it was a perfect blend of angsty moments tempered with fluffier ones. This was a wonderfully written book that can hit you in the feels while simultaneously having you rooting for the characters. The descriptions were perfect to the point everything was clearly pictured. Just in case check your content warnings to be safe. But that being said I would highly recommend not only checking this book out but all of the author’s other books… amazing!
Everything we hoped for and more Ah, the continuation of this found family’s saga with the next couple’s love story – Mila and Beck – is everything we could have hoped for and more. I love the elements of single parenthood, the fact that both ended up marrying others but found each other again, the little shared memories that rekindle their relationship. The Vintage Ladies are as over the top as ever, with more laugh-out-loud antics. And we get to revisit our favorite couples from earlier books. Additional tropes – workplace romance, small town romance Favorite quote: “…you’re still you. Still the one that can stop my heart and restart it with just one kiss. Still the one that steals my breath with just a look.” Who said it to whom? Well you’ll have to read this book to find out. 😊
Oh how I missed these crazy bunch of characters. Seriously, the Vintage Ladies are everything every woman should aspire to be lol.
Anyway, the story of Mila and Beck was everything! It felt like I was holding my breath every time these two interacted because there was so much unresolved feelings between them. Fortunately, they get their lives together and well, I won’t spoil it. But trust me, it’s adorable.
Between all the fluff and dash of angst, I loved the sneak peek into where Tails and Halo are going next. It shall be interesting and I can’t wait!
An amazing third addition to The Martini Girl Bar series! I adore the fact that single parent involvement was around. Growing up in spilt household having this as a holiday read touched home a bit but it was still nice to see. The FMC has a heart of gold especially after the events that unfold in her life. I laughed and I cried. This was what I didn’t know I was looking for in a book. Cannot wait to see what’s next to come.
Tropes: single dad, second chance, workplace romance, bar romance, small town romance.
I absolutely adore this series!! I laughed till I cried!! So much fun!! Every book has been so good but Mila and Beck will be one of my favorites!! So much emotion and so much love!! I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

I received this book as and ARC for my honest review. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and loved reading about Mila and Beck’s relationship. I can’t wait to read more of Gracie Cooper’s works. This book had all the tropes I love like small town romance, second chance romance, found family, and single dad romance. I’d definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a cute holiday read!!
