Harvey Bennett #16

The Eye of Odin

Rate this book
Erik thought he was prepared for anything on his first real expedition in the caves of Norway with the legendary Professor Graham Lindgren. But when they stumble upon a hidden passageway covered in ancient runes, he and the team find themselves drawn deep into a long-sealed chamber.

Their excitement quickly turns to dread when an earthquake strikes, trapping them in the heart of the mountain.

Desperate to locate her missing father, Graham’s daughter, Sarah Lindgren, and her partner, Reggie, arrive in Norway, joined by Harvey Bennett—only to find themselves caught in a deadly pursuit with a ruthless organization determined to claim whatever treasure Graham’s team has unearthed.

Racing against time, Sarah and Reggie must navigate treacherous terrain and cryptic riddles while fending off relentless enemies who will stop at nothing to seize the secrets of the Eye of Odin.

With the mountain crumbling around them, the group must unlock the power of the Eye before it’s too late. But as they close in on the truth, they begin to realize that the Eye’s secrets are far more dangerous than they ever imagined.

The Eye of Odin is the 16th book in the Harvey Bennett Thrillers series, but it’s an exhilarating adventure that can be enjoyed as a standalone novel. Dive into a high-stakes journey filled with ancient mysteries, heart-stopping action, and relentless suspense.

Will they unlock the Eye’s secrets, or will the mountain become their tomb?

Viking history - fact or fiction?

Prof. Lundgren is exploring a cave system in Norway when a series if tremors bury him and his students. A research lab investigating an orb is breached and Candace escapes with the orb. These two events enroll Ben and his crew in their next mystery as Reggie and Sarah attempt to rescue her father and Ben and His wife help Candace. Not surprisingly the two missions turn out to be connected and involve Viking myths, but are they fact or fiction...
Murder, mystery, suspense, otherworldly phenomena, earthquakes, tunnels, runes, twins, egotistical fanatics, intertwine in this Nordic adventure.

walked into the unknown when you think you have it covered!

Great read. Loved this mystery. The team actually gets drawn in trying to in corner Sarah's father. Unbeknownst of the culprit they are partnered with. After an earthquake causes problems in a small mountain in Norway the team tries to help. Not knowing the good guys from the bad keeps things interesting. Culprits have taken over the mountain trying to recover Viking ware keeps it interesting. Believe me you will love the story.

The Eye Of Odin - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

A fascinating, unputdownable thriller that homages Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, with a soupçon of Thor and a central core of Viking legends, Nick Thacker's excellent The Eye of Odin will keep you reading all night, as its short, character- named chapters keep the action racing along at break-neck speed.

Boring

I have read all the books in this series. They started out pretty good, but the last few are lacking. Also, I'm not sure if they edited this book at all for grammatical errors. Misspelled and incorrect words as well as repeating sentences made it a very annoying read. I have done editing for a best selling author and would be ashamed if I missed as many that were in this book.

Great Read!!!

Nick Thacker does it again. He takes a bunch of bad guys, adds some history, myth, and legends, and Harley "Ben" Bennett and the CSO and writes a great thriller! Many twists and turns. And even adds a mysterious asteroid.

good reading

Nick spins a good story with each volume in this series. And there is good balance of action and science fiction to entertain the reader who likes either or both for that matter. Looking forward to enjoying the next two books in the series

Can't stop now!

This was not the best book of the series, but a good one. I love the story and the characters. I can't wait to read the next one.

Over the Rainbow Bridge

Waiting for the newest Nick Thacker thriller to arrive is exquisite agony only to be replaced with intense joy, luxurious reading time, and the satisfaction of ferreting out the ending.

The Eye of Odin more than lives up to previous Thacker thrillers with Harvey and Julie Bennett and the gang on the trail of a renowned Viking researcher who goes missing under extremely odd circumstances.

The Harvey Bennett Thrillers Book 16 is packed with the origins of Viking peoples, Viking travels, Viking Artifacts, and the Viking Pantheon of Gods. Mix in an extraterrestrial mystery of astounding proportions, and you have a stay-up-all-night read.

What I love the most about Nick Thacker's writing is how immersive my reading experience is; I rarely ever stop before I'm finished. I can't remember a single book of his that I've not read in one sitting.

If you love action and adventure thrillers that are on the science and technology side, treat yourself to a Nick Thacker thriller. You'll fall for his characters, become addicted to his far-flung locations, and, like me, eagerly await each new book's publication.
