I'm cross-posting what I wrote on Amazon because I really believe in this book: I really appreciated Passion Isn't Enough. It's a direct, uncluttered breakdown of how nonprofits work and how things can go right (and how they sometimes go wrong). Too often these nonprofit how-to books get bogged down in extraneous anecdotes and belabored analogies, and they're often saturated in an unearned, overly familial tone, as if the material itself isn't enough. This book, however, propels itself smoothly and confidently with clean, no-nonsense writing, and as a result it makes itself an absolute must-read for anyone trying to make their way in this sector. Five stars!
