Jade Jones discovered her passion for creative writing in elementary school. Born in 1989, she began writing short stories and poetry as an outlet. Later on, as a teen, she led a troubled life which later resulted in her becoming a ward of the court. Jade fell in love with the art and used storytelling as a means of venting during her tumultuous times.

Aging out of the system two years later, she was thrust into the dismal world of homelessness. Desperate, and with limited income, Jade began dancing full time at the tender age of eighteen. It wasn't until Fall of 2008 when she finally caught her break after being accepted into Cleveland State University. There, Jade lived on campus and majored in Film and Television. Now, six years later, she flourishes from her childhood dream of becoming a bestselling author. Since then she has written the best-selling "Cameron" series.

Quite suitably, she uses her life's experiences to create captivating characters and story lines. Jade currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. With no children, she spends her leisure shopping and traveling. She says that seeing new faces, meeting new people, and experiencing diverse cultures fuels her creativity. The stories are generated in her heart, the craft is practiced in her mind, and she expresses her passion through ink.

Tropes: Kidnapping, Stockholm Syndrome (adjacent), Multiple narrators, Paranormal, Redemptive Arc, BWAM, Age Gap 😊
Haunted Love by Jade Jones is the second book that I have read by this author. The first book is Fanatic (one of my all-time twisted favorites). Ms. Jones is a versatile author, and her catalog contains several books with urban leanings. Haunted Love has a very different vibe, and I totally enjoyed this paranormal offering. The book interestingly has several narrators so that villains, victims and heroes all get to tell their side of the story!
Zenelle leaves Chicago for Japan to escape her trifling boyfriend and to reset her life. Instead of a smooth flight to tranquility, Zenelle finds herself kidnapped and held hostage with a group of other women. They are slated to be entertainment at an annual Halloween debauchery. Unfortunately, their appearance is a one-time thing and then they are supposed to disappear. The only bright, hopeful spot in this mess is the supportive Hiroshi. However, she is the only one who can see him.
Hiroshi has wandered the halls of this tainted mansion for more years than he can remember. Due to his evil actions, he is a ghost and doomed to roam and observe the wicked deeds that take place without being able to help. The fact that Zenelle can actually SEE him brings hope that perhaps she will help him break the curse.
Conclusion:
The villains in this book were particularly heinous and a few of the women embraced their evil plans out of self-hatred and misguided goals. I enjoyed Zenelle and Hiroshi’s hopeful stance as they banded together. I would have liked a bit more of an extension to their love story, but I enjoyed the tapestry Ms. Jones created as she wove the pieces of her story together using her diverse cast of characters. Final words, the book contained a great epilogue, so we got to see how this aged ghost and the modern girl from Chicago blended their lives together.
Favorite Lines:
But let me tell you, molding a man was like trying to sculpt water. The only thing that changes is you—and not in a good way.
How the hell could she see me?
I let out a dry chuckle. “You sure you’re not the crazy one? You know how risky this is, right?”
For Zenelle, for every ounce of strength she gave to survive, I would ensure he could never hurt her again.

Haunted Love Japanese

Haunted Love by Jade Jones was a great and interesting story. It is a different story from Jade Jones’s books. Jade Jones does a great job. It’s well-written and a powerful story.

Zenelle wants to get away from the drama, but she is kidnapped by a random dude. She was lost and confused about where she was at. Hiroshi was a supernatural creature. Grimm was controlling, deceiving and manipulating people. Gemini's head wasn't right at the time, but she was attached to Grimm's spell. I'm happy for Hiroshi to save Zenelle and other women's lives from Club Haunt. Alec and Zenelle's best friend are cold-hearted people.

Good read

Haunted Love Drama

So many unexpected twists and turns. If you've read the synopsis and decided to pass on this s book, you're missing out. This was romance (paranormal or is it?), drama, betrayal, violence and redemption. Yep, a while back drama.

Each chapter had me locked in. I needed to know what was going to happen next. Was the bottom B*tch going to remain in that position? Was Hiroshi ever going to break the curse? Who was Grimm and what was his plan for Zanelle?

Not too much sex, just a hint of violence but it has a whole lot of drama.
Best read this month.

Good and quick read

*Potential spoilers*

This book kept my attention the entire time! Once I started I couldn't stop. I like the author's writing style and enjoyed the storyline. The only things I didn't care for was the essential instalove, how her fingers and foot healed so fast, and also how Hiroshi talked the way he did. I guess I was expecting more formal talk from someone that should have been over 100 years old technically lol. Outside of this, I would have liked to know more about the demons and just how Grimm was able to gain possession of the house.

WOW

This story will have to really thinking about the supernatural. To be able to communicate, and discover certain in order to secure your future, it's an enjoyable read just sad that her best friend betrayed her in the worse possible way but in the end the curse was broken and they both found happiness.

If you’re not reading a Jade Jones book you are missing out! This book was fast and suspensful. This story was the perfect example of “don't trust no one” and “ Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” I will say there is an unexpected happy ever after.

Not my favorite by Jade. While the story line had so much potential, i feel like it was rushed especially towards the end. If this is your first read by Jade, and you’re not a fan, please don’t let this book deter you. She is an amazing writer and her other books are drool worthy and loaded.

I really enjoyed the storyline. From the first page, I was hooked.

The storyline is filled with back stabbery, lies, manipulation, emotions, abuse, assault. All the things I did not know I was getting myself into.

And overall, a happy ending.
