The Clockwork City
Whilst the emperor remains fighting for his life, his eldest son takes interim control and his sister, Princess Landrea, insists on travelling with the troops to the Clockwork city to oversee the mission to find her kidnapped sister Efidenty,She takes her body guards Dwin and Rose with her, and Scarlet, a medic who unbeknown to all has the power of magic.
Scarlet's brother, the Horse Lord and his warriors join the rest of the northerners who are travelling with the Red Guard, the soldiers of the empire, as they march to the Clockwork city. His younger brother Jai is one of the soldiers of the north, travelling with their sentinel Aron, as a scout.
On the desolate plains between Thulandria and their destination, the cohort are attacked by the Nemerons, who orchestrated the failed assassination of the emperor; their numbers are swollen by the presence of giants, spell casters, and a myriad of creatures all determined to stop the Red Guard, and the northerners from getting to the Clockwork City - the fiercely independent city that may hold the key to why centuries of peace is dissipating.
The storm clouds gather across the land ominously heralding the Age of Blood; hitherto mythical creatures commanded, magical forces unleashed, and strength of character tested - as the story unravels not all are found worthy.

I love to travel, at least I did before the pandemic. I like to observe the world past and present and imagine it as a more exciting and magical place! I am a history graduate so my writing encompasses a medieval fantasy world with battles, horsemanship, intrigue, and magic. I have published short stories and full novels, genre being fantasy and science fiction. I also contribute news and social commentary articles on politics and current affairs through a range of media. The Riders of the North is a series of books which include the short story prequels; The Horse Lord and Rose's Story and the full novel,' The Games'. I am currently working the next book in this series, working title 'The Clockwork City and welcome any interest in ARC's as now in final proof stage. I would love to hear from you.
