Jared N. Michaud is a devoted fiction writer driven by a passion for writing that began before he reached age seven. Influenced by literary giants like C.S. Lewis and Orson Scott Card, he discovered the transformative power of storytelling, and at twelve he began crafting his first novel. Today, Jared writes from a little house in a little town in Wyoming, where he lives with his wife and seven children. As a Christian with a deep love for the truth and appreciation for the values that underlie Western civilization, he endeavors to create myths that will inspire future generations.
Once again, Jared creates a world filled with different races and strange beasts, and chock-full of lore and myth. We even have some languages this time, which is cool! I'll be honest, I hardly ever read fantasy because 99% of it contains magic. (I take the Bible's warnings about witchcraft pretty seriously.) However the "magic" system here, as Malakai explained it, seems different and makes a lot of sense. So I wasn't uncomfortable with it. 😉
I'm definitely picking up a LOT of symbolism here, which is really cool. Almost allegorical, but not quite.
Too early to tell a favorite character, but I've got a soft spot for Grath. (Characters with a fun way of speech earn points from me, lol 😆)
