Millions watch it on the box. So, they have to water it down for the tellyfor the young and old 'uns, you understand.
Blood drawn on a prime-time Saturday afternoon?!
Not on your Nellie.
They'd take it off before you could say Tessie O'Shea.
But tonight . . . out here . . . in the suburbs . . . away from the cameras . . .

Teenage 'Teddy Boy', Jonny Arnold, escapes the hell of the Welsh coalmines for the bright lights of 50s London in a quest to become the greatest wrestler the world has ever seen.
Five years later, London is yet to swing and all Jonny has to show for his efforts are a shotgun marriage, jail time and total rejection from wrestling’s head honchos.
He’s going nowhere fast or slow until, that is, pornographer ‘Flash’ Nicky Nash comes to the rescue with his connections, criminal cavalry… and the loan of a Ford Cortina.
Now, Jonny’s on the up and up, but a past indiscretion comes a-calling and his dubious associations are about to backfire… violently.

The World Belongs to Jane & Me – Part #1: 1963 is the first of a trilogy of Brit-Grit crime novels inspired by The ‘Exotic’ Adrian Street and the ‘golden age’ of British wrestling of the 60s and 70s. Written in the spirit of Colin MacInnes, Harold Pinter and Ted Lewis by 'Monomania, Mon Amour' author A D Stranik.

"Stranik is a powerful wordsmith who is, despite this being his debut novel, already making an impact in the literary world."

Adrian David Stranik is a London-born singer/songwriter who has performed all over the world with 'swamp-rocking', 'garage-o-billy', and 'country-trash' bands The Silver Brazilians, The Broadway Twisters and Environmental Science.

He studied cinematography under the tutelage of Franz Von Hasburg at Brighton Film School and appears occasionally in theatre, TV, and film productions.

He has been published in a number of ‘glossies’, including Eternity, Shindig!, Milkcow Vintage, Music Maker, and the American ‘culture and politics’ magazine Bohemoth. Most recently, his contributions have appeared in the books 'The Jam: The Day I Was There' and 'Teds, Rebels, Hepcats & Psychos', and his short story 'A Buddy Holly Story' is featured in issue #9 of Ceresus Magazine.

His debut novel, Monomania, Mon Amour—an 'unashamed' hard-boiled neo-noir thriller inspired by the 1957 disappearance of 'Queen of the Pin-ups', Bettie Page—was published in 2022.
His second novel, The World Belongs to Jane & Me – Part #1: 1963, is OUT NOW!

Rip- roaring action. A.D. Stranik has brought to life the dark, seedy underworld of London’s early 1960s wrestling and street life. A master of word-painting, Stranik makes every character breathe, battle, and often bleed.
A great addition to hard- boiled noir world, hopefully this is only the first of many in this series. Stranik draws inspiration from his father’s experiences as a renowned professional wrestler. He has learned well. The book is a very quick read- packed full of action and angst, you can devour it in a session or two. I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of this saga. Well done, mate!

Having recently read a few of Adrian Street's books, this was a lot of fun, and very familiar. I would love to see this as a TV show just to get all the attitude, music and ambiance altogether on the screen at the same time. Can't wait for book 2!
