Becca Gallagher was taking her new job as co-manager of the Red Door Café and part-time bartender at the Ambrose Tavern seriously. Even if it meant she was working so much, there was hardly time to breathe.
She was used to working hard. She’d been working at her cousin’s restaurant since she was sixteen. And she loved the fact Paxton trusted her to fill in for him at the bar. She’d breathe later, in a year or two, when things settled down.
When a stranger showed up at the bar one night, he made an impression on her. But she kept it professional and only chatted with him briefly. The next morning, when her cousin Hadley came into the café kitchen to complain about a rude customer, Becca was surprised to find the stranger from the bar.
Jamison Teller couldn’t help but be amused by the woman scolding him for being rude to her waitress. In his mind, he did nothing wrong. But he acquiesced and apologized. He had an agenda in Calaway Crossing. And staying on the right side of the people who lived there could only further it.
Becca was suspicious of the handsome stranger who had no ties to the community. What possible reason could he have to stay in the tiny town in the middle of nowhere? She didn’t have any answers. But she was determined to find out.
Bad Company is the ninth book in the Calaway Crossing Series.
Leigh Spends her days with cute, sexy guys. Unfortunately, they’re on paper. But still, not a bad way to spend your day. She also writes about strong, independent women who can hold their own against these irresistible guys. She’s not a pure romance writer because she breaks the rules a bit. But that’s the fun part. Leigh’s stories have adventure, family relationships, and the struggles life throws at you sometimes. But boy always meets girl. They tussle a bit while they figure out what they really want. Then find their happily ever after, even though it might not be what they thought it was going to be. But the most amazing thing about this is, she does it all with a dog on her lap. Her muse may not be one of her book boyfriends. But a cute dog is the next best thing.
Bad Company is another warm, wonderful and mostly sweet romance in Leigh Fenty's Calaway Crossing romance series. I adore the characters in this series and that continues in Bad Company. The humor is the kind I can most relate to, especially among the family. Cousin Becca Gallagher gets her time to shine. It is sometimes tough holding down two jobs, but she loves both of them and she would never consider leaving Calaway Crossing to find an easier way to do things. When a stranger comes to town, he is a big shocked to encounter the lovely Becca everywhere he turns. Three times in three different jobs is a bit much for anyone, but she is just covering for her brother at the gas station. For a rich guy with a secret the community takes a bit of understanding but soon, like all before him, he falls almost as hard for the town and its people as he does for her. I quickly developed expectations for how the storyline would go, but I have read enough Leigh Fenty books to know not to try to predict where the story line would go. I love that about her books.
Oh my! I liked this book and I love this series! I hope it continues on for all of the cousins. I enjoyed Becca's story as she has played a humorous role in the other books up to this point. I love books with feisty female roles as I have always tended to be feisty myself. Lol. Keep up the good work, Leigh!
Great story about Jamison and Becca. He was in town on business. His father sent himt to buy up some property and father was going to put money making business on those lots. Jamison had time to meet Becca and learn about the town and decided to make his on plans. Very good story, enjoy.
This series is amazing and the characters are perfectly real. This book has some tense events but the personal relationships get them through. Funny and full of love. I highly recommend it.
I really enjoyed book 9 in this series watching Jamison and Becca finding their HEA. I'm looking forward to reading book 10 to see how all of this started. I will definitely recommend this book to everyone.
