Kaylee
I've been running, but not anymore. I have questions, and I'm coming for the truth, to know more about what I am and what it means. He is more than a celebrity crush. He is my obsession. A vampire king hidden in plain sight. Not once had I considered that the object of my secret fantasies would just stroll into my real life and elicit such dark desires. How can I escape from someone who feels tethered to me, body, mind, and soul, making me question everything? He scares me but helps me to fight my fears; he is the epitome of danger but is my safe haven. One thing I am sure of is he will bring about my reckoning with my revival. He is a monster, but I want to make him mine, and I might just die trying. Einar I've spent most of my existence searching for meaning, conquering kingdoms, feeding and fighting, but never really feeling until something sparked to life inside of me almost twenty-three years ago. I remember the first day I felt a pull to a place unknown. It was a foreign thing to feel anything other than hunger, unfamiliar and exciting. When I followed it, I found myself drawn to the island of Jersey, and seven months later, I felt the first punch of air into lungs that hadn't breathed that way in over twelve hundred years. I didn't know then that it was her who drew me here, that it was her first screaming lungful of air that gave me newfound breath, her heart that gave mine a beat, and her soul's entrance into our world, that sparked a flame in my own. She might not yet know it, but she is fated to be mine, not only a hidden from the dark underworld from which she belongs, but also from those who believe that she might be the one destined to rule it all.
Dual, first-person POVs.
Fated mates Forced proximity Touch her & 💀 Forked tongue Monstrous MMC Misuse of confectionery Vampires, Shifters, Werewolves, and more
Uh, I mean, maybe this is someone's thing, seems like a lot of people like it, but it was just torture porn. Not for me 🫣 I guess maybe I'll need to really do some better prescreening before jumping into a book. That's on me. I'm also real confused about what happened at the end, I'm totally lost. The plot also is just like, nonexistent and is just this poor girls tragic life as it goes on- bad things all around. Uhhh, idk if I recommend, I don't even know what to say! I just found myself here but I don't feel like I have any business reading this book 😭 proceed with caution, unlike myself.

The story Nicky tells us is sooo exciting, that at the end it leaves you speechless. The fate of our two MCs, Kaylee and Einar, seems to be inevitable.
Kaylee, our curvy FMC, felt different for her whole life and has the ability to see the auras of others. She suffered already a lot in her young life and still tries to find her place. Einar is a 1200 year old vampire who is a king of the underworld and ownes one of the largest hotel chains.
But these are not the only characters in this story. We also have Damien, another unsatiable vampire as well as Tom and Jace some vampire hunks and werewolf twin brothers.
Nicky is so good to take us on a wild ride on a rollercoaster full of plot twists and emotions. And regarding the spice … it’s getting hot. You will never look at some candy the same way you saw before this book. Be warned!
So grab this book and start this wild ride. But be aware … Nicky is sneaky … this is the first of a series and not a standalone.

"Tsk... tsk... Dįrty, dįrty, girl. Next time I catch you with one of those in your mouth, I will make you smoke my çoçk instead,”
"I'm going to worship at your feet, little one. Slake your every desire, fill you up completely with my sin, then paint it across every inch of your skin.”

𝑨𝑹𝑪 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 The fastest five star I have ever given!❤️🔥 TVH is a dark paranormal, heat filled read, with a thrilling storyline. It is filled to the brim with lust and passion!
One of my highly anticipated arcs for this month, and Nicki did not disappoint! I was basically highlighting the entire book. I found myself completely entranced by the first few chapters alone. The feeling continued throughout the entire story.
We are thrown into the minds of Kaylee and Einar. Our FMC is one resilient, smart mouthed, no bullish!t protagonist. Whom comes to find there is a whole other world of beings, her *identity*, and has a wicked obsession for the MMC. Einar, our ancient Norse vampire king 🔥 He stands at 6.8ft, stoic in nature and deliciously ruthless.. but not to her. He seems to share the same depth of obsession. Only thing is, he doesn’t seem to be the only one.
This PNR is filled with all your favourite creatures of the night, set in urban times. I devoured it. I need another hit after that ending, and I’m so glad this is only book one in the series! 🥵🔥🖤
Book releases 30th August. Go get it babes 😈 Thank you for getting me parched and for pulling at my heartstrings all at once Nicki 🖤
Ummmm....excuse me?!?! Do you maybe have any more of this...vampire deliciousness?!
This book is a thick one. There's a part where the creatures get described, I loved that! The translation guide in the front of the book was nice. This cliffy will be the end of me though 💀
I enjoyed Kaylee and Einar's story a lot. The story was a good read, it was an emotional rollercoaster and the spice was spicing! I'm going to need MORE!!

This book was so damn good! It had a bit of everything I love!!! And the spice, oh was it spicing! Kaylee the curvy FMC and Einar the sexy vampire MMC are the perfect pair of fated mates. And the Shibari.... oh boy! But that cliffhanger.....
Tropes: - Forced Proximity - Age Gap - He falls first - Fated mates - Plus sized FMC
N.A. M.C.D. has crafted a truly captivating and addictive vampire romance with The Violent Hours. From the very first page, I was completely hooked by the dual POV of Kaylee and Einar, and I couldn't put it down until the very end.
Kaylee's journey of self-discovery is incredibly compelling. She's strong, determined, and relatable, even with the extraordinary circumstances she finds herself in. Her internal conflict, torn between fear and an undeniable attraction to Einar, is beautifully written and makes her character feel incredibly authentic.
Einar is the ultimate dark and brooding vampire king! He's powerful, alluring, and fiercely protective of Kaylee. M.C.D. does an excellent job of revealing his vulnerability beneath the intimidating exterior, making him a complex and fascinating character. The connection between Kaylee and Einar is palpable, and their intense chemistry leaps off the page.
The plot is intriguing and well-paced, filled with mystery, danger, and a simmering tension that kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved learning about the vampire world and the power dynamics at play. The author's writing style is engaging and descriptive, painting a vivid picture of the characters and their surroundings.
The Violent Hours is more than just a vampire romance; it's a story about destiny, acceptance, and the power of love to conquer even the darkest of forces. If you're a fan of passionate, paranormal romances with strong characters and a compelling plot, then you absolutely need to read this book! I am eagerly awaiting the next installment!
Holy freaking hell!!! I have no actual words as to what I just literally read!! the whole book was written to perfection and the banter the characters the emotions the plot the age gap the slow burn...don't even get me started on that 🥵🥵... it was the hottest of the hottest slow burn where both the MMC and FMC are feral for each other and due to circumstances they are not yet to be together and the hidden identity and the intense gazes and passion and love and spice... the spice was actually very well written and I devoured it like drinking milk.. it was that goood🥰❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥.. I couldn’t put it down at all.. and that ending it broke me literally apart like torn into pieces, ripped and shred my heart without fixing or gluing them together. I need book 2 ASAP🥲🥲
I got the Violent Hours by N.A. M.C.D as an arc read and wow what a book! This book follows Kaylee our sexy, curvy female main character. I love her and boy does she go through some shit! Surrounded by so many badass sexy men, vamps and weres, this book is smoking hot. I love Einar, the main sexy vampire male. The chemistry between them is 🌶️ I loved the way their relationship grew through the book and I was fully on board with the idea of them. What a cliffhanger though, I can’t wait for the next book. This is a great book but there is some darkness to it (which I love!).
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
the pain and heartache, the love and adoration. the hatred. how descriptive everything was laid out in this masterpiece was written is absolutely beautiful, absolutely broken. It melted me.
I cannot wait for the second. I need it yesterday.
*Arc Review* This book is so great!! I love Kaylee and Einar's relationship. Can you really go wrong with a vampire king and a something 🤫? (You'll have to read the story to figure that out 😏 but I think not!!!) There was so much spicy spice 🥵😈. Kaylee realllly went through it y'all, my emotions were all over the place! Also all the side characters had their place and really added so much to the story! I loved the chapter with all the supernatural creatures descriptions! The freaking cliffhanger is a doozy!!! I cannot wait for book 2!!! Please check your triggers!!!!
Man I was literally pacing by the time I got to the last chapter. Talk about a wild ride?? And an even more wild cliff hanger??? This books had me screaming, crying, horny, annxious and yelling. I cried for Kaylee, that poor girl has been fucking put through it. Time and time again she’s just let down by the people around her. Specifically men. Surprise surprise. I wanted better for my girl. I want better for my girl. She’s just looking for love in all the wrong places and she second guessed people because of it. And I don’t want to spoil but there’s a character who gets finished off but I needed that to be dragged out! I wanted them to suffer. I’m not normally a vengeful person, especially towards fictional characters but I wanted this one to be dragged. I smiled the one scene I thought it was going to happen.
But onto happier thoughts.
Einar is exactly what I love in a vampire MMC. Blood thirsty and obsessive. He meets his fated mate and through a contract is supposed to marry her. He contents himself by staying away but watching. Making sure she’s safe. Until an accident brings her back to him and makes it impossible for them to not feel drawn to eachother. Hot. HOT. HAWT. I love vampire romance so much and this one did not disappoint. The filth this man spouts to Kaylee is ridiculously hot. I love a man who knows how to worship. There’s a water scene that had me literally struggling to not wake my husband up. I hate being jealous of FMCs lol but I love it all the same. I hope we get answers in the next one of course but I also hope we get more of Rök. I think we will with that cliffhanger. Such an amazing book and worth all the teasing and all the little snippets.
Overall what a beautifully dark story about obsession, lust and yearning.
THIS BOOK, This fucking book!!! ~ This is a chunky book, however, because it’s FULL of drama I didn’t notice the size of it, I flew through it! ~ We are following Kaylee & Einar, a Succurien and Vampire, who have a MAJOR love hate relationship, but their chemistry is urgh *chefs kiss* 💋 ~ There are so many plot twists, areas of tension, the plot is also thick with deception! There were sooo many times where I thought something would happen and I would be proved so wrong - all of that kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire read! ~ There are a lot of side characters we meet along the way but they all play key roles in the story, which I loved, I love when a side character has meaning and key role within the main storyline ~ The spice in this one, is most definitely SPICING! 🥵 ~ The ending of this one, I can’t get over it, i’m still thinking about it, what have you done tome @authornamcd!! I’m a complete mess! ~ There are mentions of pregnancy loss, rape, SA and drug usage so please bare that in mind when reading - your mental health matters 💕
I mean, I don't know what I was expecting, but I was not expecting to be sucked in and reading all hours of the night. This book HOOKED. ME. IN! I haven't been hooked on a paranormal romance for awhile but Kaylee and Einar definitely did this for me.
A tragic start to the story with Kaylee, losing her mum and her baby, almost losing her own life. Whilst Kaylee is down and out, we meet Einar, who swoops in helping to clean up the situation and ensure his mate survives. Yes, his mate.
He backs off, fast forward to present day and we see Kaylee get her mojo back, move back to the UK to help her Grandmother and hooks up with her vampy bodyguard.
We meet twins from her last life, ex boyfriends cousins, Einar bumps back into her and off course can't leave her alone, all the men, all the spice.
"If the taste of her is the ambrosia of the gods, then the feel of her sex is fucking nirvana."
Can I just say, the sunroof scene, fuuuuckkk me. And the first time the mates come together and you see what Kaylee can do to him, christ almighty.
The things these two say to each other...
“You think I don’t want you? That I don’t need you? I need the very breath from your lungs, your blood and flesh, your love, you are the only one who feeds my starving soul.”
Twists and turns galore, spice, plot, what more do you want? “Dröm sött, min sköna.”

I don’t even know where to start because The Violent Hours completely consumed me, chewed me up, and spat me out in the best way possible. N.A. McD didn’t just write a book she crafted an obsession, a dark and delicious descent into madness that I never wanted to end.
And Einar? My entire existence belongs to him now. I would give anything!! anything to spend eternity at his side. He is raw, brutal, hauntingly beautiful, and utterly irresistible. The way he lingers on the page, the way his presence seeps into your bones and refuses to let go… I am forever ruined by him, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The atmosphere of this book is phenomenal dark, poetic, and laced with tension that grips you from the first page and never lets up. The writing is stunning, the emotions are gut-wrenching, and the story is an all consuming, beautifully twisted dream I never wanted to wake from.
N.A. McD has officially wrecked me, and I’ll thank her for it every single time I come crawling back for more. If you love dark, all consuming, emotionally devastating books with characters that own you, The Violent Hours is an absolute must-read.
We have been edged for what feels like eons about this book!
I could go on, but I shall summarise it to this:
There is a lot of sexy longing and cute nicknames, for eg she calls him f*ckface lol
There are secrets. Bargains. F*cking. Laughing. Hate f*cking. Killing. Kinky f*cking.
What more does a book need, really?
The spice is forking mint! This is actually my highest spice rating (4.5). It's like she peered into my brain and pulled out all the juicy yummy things I like in my smut.
I'm not going to lie, it ends on a F*CKING GAPING CHASM. It's not a cliff. It's a Chuck Norris flying knee, kick you in your emotional dick, kinda ending. 😫🥺
I love this author, and I am SO glad I didn't have to lie and say it was a great book. Because ... it's worth every bloody star. I'm so proud of you. You done good kid 🫶🏻🥹
This was a fantastic VERY dark read, full of drama and twists. I couldn’t put it down and when I had to, I was grabbing it again at every opportunity lol. There were many times when I thought I knew what was happening and then BAM! things would change and make me scream NO!!!
Einar, the MMC, is an absolutely ancient and dangerous monster but I just loved him! In fact, all the characters were great with their secrets and lies. The ending finished the book tremendously well and I hope there is more to follow.
This is the first vampire romance i have read, and omg, I didn't know what I was missing. I couldn't put it down. Rök and his split tongue did things to me. Einar is also my daddy now. I need more, I need answers
This book is a dark romance, paranormal, smut lovers wet dream!
I couldn't stop reading it, the spice had me needing water breaks 😂
Einar has such a dirty mouth and I'm happy to listen to it every day of the week! The story was interesting and held me till the end, 😂 now I have to wait for the next book!
If you like 🦇 Vampires 🌶️ SMUT ❤️🔥 Forced Proximity 🌶️ SMUT 🔥 Praise 🌶️ SMUT
Oh my gosh, what a book. I'm normally a lover of the alpha werewolfs more. But I think I just fell inlove with vampire kings. E, bloody e 😍 my heart. And that ending, what was that? Like I need more please. Such an amazing book. Had me captivated from the start. The story line, character development from all the characters. Especially E and K. I loved every minute of this book.
Well, this was a little spicy surprise and a half!!! This popped up as a suggested read, and I'm so glad it did.
Our MMC, Einar, is dark, dangerous, possessive, and definitely not the good guy, and I loved him! The book is plot and spice heavy, full of deceptions, lies, twists, and turns and an absolutely amazing, love-hate relationship between Einar and Kaylee.
It ends on a cliffhanger that will have you screaming, and I can't wait for book 2!
The Violent Hours was a deliciously dark and spicy book that had me wanting the next as soon as I finished because man that cliffy hit hard 🤯
I enjoyed the confidence of the curvy FMC and the internal battles the MMC was waging while wanting nothing but to devour his fated mates.
The spicy scenes did not disappoint and I don’t know if I’ll ever see a sunroof in a small car or edge of a pool and be the same again.
With paranormal MC’s, fated mates, an age gap and a little hate f&$@!ng its a guaranteed win. So don’t walk or run, but sprint to read this one and see just how much you will love The Violent Hours
Spice, spice, and more spice. “I’ll happily be the monster in your head if I get to be the one in your bed” The Violent Hours by N.A M.C.D is a dark paranormal romance and it involves two tropes that are a favourite to many: fated mates, and age gap romance. The author has a sensational way of creating breathtaking scenes and characters that will entrap your heart. So join Kaylee and Einar. A young woman on a quest to find out what everyone has been keeping from her and discover more about what she really is, and the roller coaster of a ride she finds herself on when her celebrity crush waltzes into her life; and a centuries old vampire king who has been waiting just over two decades to claim the girl who is fated to be his, and doesn’t even know it. The Violent Hours is only book one in their roller coaster journey and I’m warning you… be prepared for the biggest cliffhanger of your life. This amazing author has an insane talent for leaving her readers on the edge of their seats and hearts cleaved in two. The plot is amazing, and yes there is plot within this amazing novel despite the spice level being 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. There is a myriad of twists and turns and a whole spectrum of emotions from violent heartbreak to having your heart stitched back together; you will feel all of it. You will fall head over heels for characters, and you will want to wrap your hands around others throats, and still find them all devastatingly attractive. She uses a wide variety of words, and I love the character development through the story. The book was so good I am still crying about it two days after I finished and still obsessing over my favourite character. I cannot wait until I can read the next one and I am so grateful that I got the opportunity to arc read this novel.
This book was fun to read. At time it was definitley heartwrenching and I felt so bad for Kaylee. And I absolutely love Einar.
What I liked: -I love how her way of coping with the loss of her baby and mother but didn't make it the whole main focal point. -The spicy scenes were just absolutely delicious oh my goddess 🤤 I loved the detail and differences between each individual person's sexual desires. -I love how we got a chapter explaining the different creatures, some background info on them, their strengths and weaknesses, etc. -The enemies to lovers was my favorite trope of all of this. 😍😍😍
What I didn't like: -I don't like how long it took for her self hxrming to be noticed by someone else. Or if it was noticed it wasn't mentioned. And how Einar didn't really say too much about it. I definitley would've liked a bit more from him on it. -I feel like what Damien did to her wasn't really too focused on until the very last second and then when he dies she tries to save him. Her actions in that moment truly showed she was a good person but I feel like it was mentioned then forgotten. -Some parts of the books felt rushed and others felt like pieces of timelines were missing/skipped over. -Her grandmas death seemed so mild and simple, there was the couple of scenes where you really seen how it affected her then after she seemed like she wasn't almost perfectly okay with it.
Overall I truly did love this book and would read more by this author. If you love paranormal, vampires, werewolves, spiciness, and hard kinks then this book is for you. 🌸🌸🌸🌸

I am not OK. (I messaged the author this right after I finished.)
This book is one dark, spicy and wild ride. I absolutely loved it!
It’s a world full of vampires, werewolves, and violence. Einar is a centuries old vampire king and Kaylee is 22 and has had so much loss and heartbreak in her short life. They are fated mates, but due to Einar’s contract with her father that keeps her betrothed’s name a secret, Kaylee’s fiancée is unbeknownst to her. Einar isn’t supposed to claim her until she is 25. When Kaylee returns home, proximity allows these two to be around each other and Einar is having trouble controlling himself. For that matter, so is Kaylee and it’s driving Einar half mad! There’s so much spice but it never detracted from the story. If felt as important as all the characters. Each character is an integral part to the story and thanks to the wonderful writing style, we get to know most of them well.
The author does such an amazing job with the story that I didn’t know what was going to happen next! I could not put it down. It’s a complex, emotional story and even though it’s spicy, it has a plot that I need more answers to soon! The ending had me in tears with that cliffhanger! Thankfully, this is only the beginning for Kaylee and Einar. I need book two now please!
For your own mental health, I suggest checking the very long list of trigger warnings.
Thank you so much to N.A. M.C.D. for the opportunity to read and review this amazing and wild story!
Well, consider we well and truly crushed after that cliffhanger!
Kaylee has had a hard life, losing her mother and unborn baby, to someone who she thought loved her. Constantly feeling insecure in her own skin, even though she’s a curvy beauty! Kaylee has always been different, she’s able to see auras and one has always called to her more than the others.
Kaylee has always been drawn to and completely enamored with her celebrity crush Einar. A 1200 year old vampire king, the owner of the largest hotel chain, and unbeknownst to her, her betrothed. He has always watched over her, waiting until her 25th birthday until her can claim her. Einar can have anyone he wants, but it’s his fates that truly holds his heart.
Kaylee after losing her mother and baby isn’t looking for a relationship, just a fun time. She meets a possessive vampire named Damien and he’s addicted to her succubus blood, he craves her. He’s supposed to be her bodyguard, her protector. Kaylee’s blood may be enough to drive him crazy however, and he just can’t help but to take. Only problem is, she isn’t his to take.
Kaylee can’t help but to be drawn to Einar and she hates it, she wants to hate him but she cannot deny this pull between them, and the monster that lurks beneath the surface.
When Damien kills his maker and a war between kingdoms ensues, is it all just a distraction for the main prize. Kaylee’s life hangs in the balance, but can’t Einar get to her in time..and what will remain if he does.
The ending of this book left me staring at the wall…I was not prepared, and my heart is absolutely wrecked for Einar and Kaylee! This will in fact be living rent free in my head until book 2 is in my hands!
🩸Paranormal (Vampires, Weres, Succurien) 🩸Enemies to lovers 🩸Arranged Marriage 🩸Touch her and 💀 🩸Age Gap 🩸Fated Mates 🩸He falls first and hard
I truly enjoyed this book, the spice was spicing, loved the side characters, the plot. The only reason this isn’t 5 stars is the pacing was off in places. Kaylee had a strong connection to the weres and they sort of disappeared from the plot and when her Nan died she was torn up and then seemingly ok the next minute, and I’m wondering where her dad is when Kaylee is being overdrank, and kidnapped, I’m hoping more of that is explained in book 2 however. I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for spicy vampire book with a filthy mouthed Dom vampire of your dreams, and smart mouthed FMC you can’t help but love!
There is something about a vampire romance that makes this bookish gal hot and horny 🥵 (but when I say romance I mean pitch black dark romance and not at all the fluffy fun vampire rom com 🤣). Give me a sexy curvy blood bag of an FMC and a vampire with unquenchable thirst for her any day of the week!
Einar is everything I love in a vamp. He’s a sexy, business man who just so happens to be THE it vampire in town. He meets his fated mate early in her life but for her own good stays away as long as possible. But fate has other plans for this duo and life takes them on an absolute roller coaster of lies, secrets and absolute fuckery (pun intended) . Kaylee the poor soul has had a hard run in life and let’s just say it gets harder when she finally gives in to Einar (another pun intended). She deserves a man who will worship at her alter and tell all the filthy things he wants to do to her at the same time. SPOILER ALART 🚨Einar is that man 😏
AND if you love a cliff hanger which will rip out your precious little soul and stomp on it for good measure this books for you. I did not anticipate that twist at all and I’m not okay in the slightest 😭
I absolutely love N. A and I can’t wait to see what she throws at me next! I’m ready 👉🏼👈🏼
I was blessed 🥵🥵🥵 by N.A. MCD, to read The Violent Hours as an ARC reader and I wasn’t disappointed! At first I was a bit skeptical and confused about the storyline but as I got into it, I was hooked. It was thrilling, SEXY, and freeing.. I just couldn’t get enough! Our FMC Kaylee, is enamoring… everything about her as a woman with curves is so relatable. But I couldn’t help but be frustrated and 100% pissed off at her actions half of the time even though I could understand her trauma and hurt without having access to the truth about who she is. I absolutely loveeeee Einar, our MMC. He would do absolute anything for his Soulfire. He’s cold to the rest of the world but absolutely worships the ground of his fated mate, and I couldn’t help but swoon for him. He gave Kaylee space to grow even though it killed him (& his ‘Monster’) on the inside and it made him even more enthralling and attractive as the story unfolds. After that cliffhanger I can’t WAIT to see how the story continues. I’m throughly obsessed.
Okay where to start, the story was incredible it had it all angst suspense plot and spice and I’m alll for it!
Our fmc has been coddled and lied to her entire life, put down and put second and she’s finally fighting back and on a path of self discovery and self love.
the main mmc is her betrothed and he is a king having to keep his distance but also trying to repair the damage done by other to her he is caught in the middle fighting for love
This story ends on a massive cliff hanger and I’m not happy about it I’m actually furious the last few chapters open this story up to a lot of unanswered questions.
While I loved this book I’m abit sad that the wolves didn’t seem to be as involved as I thought they would be as if they just backed off when I know they have secrets and I need to know all the things And her father not being better at protecting her? Like wtf DO YOUR JOB
