What do you do when you meet a charming stranger on Christmas Eve? Kiss them under the mistletoe, of course!

Sage Dawson cherishes Christmas in Mistletoe Meadows, where the holiday magic always feels timeless. Every year, she finds comfort in the familiarity of her grandma’s small town—until an unexpected encounter with a handsome stranger on Christmas Eve reveals that her festive traditions have been missing one a touch of romance.

Madden Blake has always prioritized his career, nearly skipping his trip home to Mistletoe Meadows to visit his only living relative, his uncle. What was meant to be a brief, uneventful visit turns into a turning point when he meets Sage, a captivating woman who makes him question the sacrifices he’s made for his demanding job in the city.

Though Sage and Madden share an undeniable connection, they both know their lives are on different paths—until Sage’s annual Christmas visit reveals that Madden has left the city behind for good. As they spend more time together during the town’s festive weeklong celebration, their once-a-year meetings blossom into something neither of them expected. But as the holidays draw to a close, so does their time together, and they must confront the reality that their worlds are still miles apart.

Can love really last beyond the magic of Christmas in Mistletoe Meadows?

Grab a cup of cocoa and a cozy blanket because you aren't going to want to put this one down. I loved the aesthetic Larissa created for Mistletoe Meadow. It gave me Stars Hollow at Christmas vibes. I loved Sage's meddling grandma and Madden for humoring her. This was absolutely adorable, and I enjoyed every second.

This was fine overall. The time jumps in the beginning weren't awful, but there really wasn't enough time for there to be an organic believable bond between the characters. But the present day storyline was enjoyable.

“Love truly is the best gift of all.”

-I give 5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“I’ve never met someone who makes me feel the way you do, who has me counting down until I can see them again, who takes up all my thoughts, who has me waking up in the morning with a smile on my face when I know that I’ll get to see you.”

~Sage Dawson cherishes Christmas in Mistletoe Meadows, where the holiday magic always feels timeless. Every year, she finds comfort in the familiarity of her grandma’s small town-until an unexpected encounter with a handsome stranger on Christmas Eve reveals that her festive traditions have been missing one a touch of romance…

“I had no idea that the kiss we’d share that night under the mistletoe would change me forever.”

-Mistletoe Meet Up, is a charming quick-read story packed with delightful humor, adorable, and relatable characters. It’s full of holiday magic, and is set in a lovely small-town setting with a dear match making/meddling grandmother and her dear bestie. It’s clear from the moment that Sage and Madden meet, there’s an undeniable connection, even though they both know their lives are on different paths. Meeting up once a year at the town’s Christmas Tree Lighting is thrilling. When they get to spend more time together during the town’s festive weeklong celebration, their once-a-year meetings blossom into something neither of them expected. Watching them struggle confronting the reality that their worlds are still miles apart, and also wanting to be together was tender! I loved what decision both Sage and Madden end up choosing and where they want to belong. Aww, this is an adorable story full of such heart. A story, worth the read!📚🎄

“But if the last three years have taught me anything, it’s that you’re the only one who could make me the happiest l’ve ever been.”

-Content: death of loved ones mentioned, some feelings of loneliness, failure.

“I knew exactly where I belonged. With him.”

The cute, clean, relatively harmless alternative to November 9th. Man and woman meet on Christmas Eve for a few years with various circumstances changing before they realize they want to be together, no matter what outside obstacles want to keep them about. It was quick, it was fun, it was cute - I have no complaints in this cold little heart I possess.

GENRE
-Christmas romcom novella

CONTENT
-🤬: none
-❤️: kisses
-⚠️: loss of parents to car accident (past)

This was a super quick, super cute read! If you need just a bite-sized holiday escape, this is for you.

Sage loves heading to Mistletoe Meadows, Connecticut, for Christmas each year. Three years ago, she met Madden at the Christmas tree lighting. We get glimpses of them for the next couple of Christmas Eves, and then get a whole week together.

This was adorable. It definitely had an instalove feel, seeing as how their I love yous came after only seven days spent together. Still, it was a happy holiday treat that made me smile! I absolutely adored the small-town shenanigans and traditions.

Favorite Quotes:
😍“You remembered my drink order,” I said, amazed he could recall such an insignificant thing from when we’d met. “I remember everything from that night.”

😏"Right there..." Grandma pointed to Madden's cheek and looked at me. "Look at that dimple. How can you say no to that dimple?"
Madden continued to smile, giving me a cocky grin. "Yeah, Sage. How can you say no to this dimple?"

If you want to read a holiday Hallmark movie instead of watch a Hallmark movie, go for it. It’s short, light, cute, and cheesy.

It seems that everyone has already decorated for Christmas but since my husband thinks it’s not okay to decorate before Thanksgiving I haven’t yet. So instead I’m staring to read some Christmas novellas. Larissa Hommes just released this 148 page novella that I knew I had to get and read. This novella is everything you could ever want in a sweet Christmas romcom. Right from the start I LOVED the town Mistletoe Meadows! It’s a cozy little town where the FMC Sage visits every year for Christmas. Sage’s Grandma Mabel lives there and as a child Sage and her family would come and spend Christmas with her and do all the fun Christmasy things. At one of the festivities is where Sage meets Madden. First off I applaud Larissa for the MMC’s name choice, it fits him perfectly! Seeing Sage and Madden’s chemistry blossom warmed my heart so much. I’m a little upset we don’t get to see Madden’s dimple but I’ll get over it. Every single character was written so well and I felt like I was watching a Hallmark Christmas movie, which is my favorite! I’m so sad it’s over 😭 we definitely need more stories from Mistletoe Meadows!!

I think we have all had those stories, where you’ve seen most of the reviews raving how awesome It is and the teasers for hype from the author…and you know you want it on your TBR, then the author does something sneaky by incorporating cookies into one of her hype posts and all bets are off… this is that book!

Christmas Eve and the tree lighting in Mistletoe Meadows has always been a magical time for Sage and that’s where our story begins, but in the past rather than the present!  On that night three years ago, Sage met Madden!  Sage was in town visiting her grandma as usual, but with the extra chill in the air, hot cocoa would help fix her right up or so she thought until a small child accidentally knocked the cup out of her hands!  The next few years, the tree lighting became something significant!  Fast forward to the present, her trip annual trip to Connecticut started off with an annoying series of knocks!

On the other side of those knocks was Madden!  Handyman extraordinaire attending to the latest project Sage’s grandma needed!  Despite some awkward tension, the pair were mostly civil!  And when a grocery store shopping trip turned into an invitation to help bake the cookies (same ones seen in hype post) well the sparks really started to fly!  Too bad they both realized nothing could materialize between them if they were separated by so many miles apart!

This novella gives you all the feelings of the season, the good and the bad, the happy and the lonely!  This was my first exposure to Larissa Hommes’ writing and I have no doubt in my mind, it is not likely to be the last!  It’s funny how the hinting of something amazingly delicious can draw you into something far greater!  Bravo Larissa!  Please tell me that this isn’t the only story you have in mind for the quaint town of Mistletoe Meadows?!

Mistletoe Meet Up is an adorable, heartwarming, precious, endearing, fun, and charming read! This book is absolutely perfect for anyone who loves a sweet clean romance and if you are missing Christmas, this book is sure to ignite feelings of Christmas magic! This book kept that feeling of hallmark happiness going.......but is far better than a hallmark movie! Sage and Madden are completely lovable characters. I instantly adored them and began rooting for them. The spark between them is extraordinary. Their yearly meeting which always accidentally lands them underneath the mistletoe is so cute......but I won't spoil any more than that! Although this is a novella (a short quick read), this book's timeline spans across a few years which I love! Think small town romance between out of towners missing the warm feeling of a friendly place to calm home and you have the vibes of this beauty. I love this book and highly recommend it!

Y’all this is the most fun/cutest novella! Larissa Hommes is one of my favorite authors and I was so excited when I found out she was writing a Christmas novella!

I loved the premise of this one: Sage and Madden met 3 years ago at a Christmas Eve tree lighting ceremony and kiss under the mistletoe. We then get the next few years of Christmas Eves and watch their story unfold and it was so sweet. I always love a small town romance with some sassy meddling side characters and this one was full of all the festive charm.

If you’re looking for a novella to squeeze in before Christmas I definitely recommend this one!

I love the idea of a small town at Christmas. There’s something so cozy and magical about it.

This was my first book by Larissa Hommes and now I’ll be looking for more.

So cute and fun. I loved the premise of the meet ups each year.

Christmas festivities, a sleigh ride, examining what’s important in life and where you truly want to be with some cute matchmaking in the midst too.

It’s the perfect Christmas pick me up. You might want some hot cocoa handy too.

“His dimple could have qualified as a weapon of the hook, line, and sinker variety. It was really hard to stay mad or annoyed at someone who was giving you a sigh-inducing smile, with a dimple to boot.”

This was a perfect Hallmark Christmas movie in book form. Super sweet mistletoe kisses (no sex), filled with so much Christmas cheer, cozy small town, meddling old ladies, hot cocoa, cookies, a sleigh ride, all the things. It’s a good closer to my 2024 seasonal reading.

I devoured this book in one night. I absolutely LOVED it! I am a sucker for a hallmark romance book love story (sorry for my run on sentence) but this one hit the mark in the best way!! I loved how relatable, realistic, and refreshing both characters were. I also loved The Mistletoe Meadows Messenger gave me Bridgerton vibes and it was such a cute touch!!

Loved this sweet story! Loved their connection. Loved their meet ups each Christmas and how each one changed them.

So much for hoping to have the town think he was the one smitten with me and not the other way around. My cheeks kept betraying me, and he didn’t seem deterred at all by everyone gossiping about us.

This is a typical Christmas romance story & nothing really stood out. Maybe I'm just tired of Christmas reads by now, but I just didn't really care about what was happening in this. I also thought the pacing was atrocious & the time jumps just didn't make sense, especially for a shorter story.

I laughed out loud. The characters are great. The town is really from a Hallmark movie. I could relate to Madden living his parents ' dream for him and being disappointed.
