T.C. Clark is a part-time author, with full-time dreams. She works over 50 hours a week as a lab manager. She writes on the edges of her day. She has the makings of an old soul who prefers daydreams to reality from time to time. She writes nonfiction and romance novellas and novels.
She works hard to create entertaining and light reads for her fans, that she can deliver quickly. She is a young author who is learning as she goes but embraces the process with every fiber of her being.
She loves reading romance as well and some of her favorite authors are Jayne Ann Krentz, Sandra Kitt, Theodora Taylor, Kresley Cole, and Christine Feehan. She looks forward to hearing from readers and producing content that will knock her fan's socks off.
This book has a lot of potential but there was so much redundancy. At points it feels like you havenβt turned the page or you are re-reading the same thing again but you arenβt, itβs just a repetition of the same exact words on different pages. The story line is a good one and you can read the potential but itβs jumbled together so you lose the level of interest. I hope the author rereleases this book with better editing.
I was not expecting this book to go in the direction that it did. I thought it was going to be a quick read with no plot. I've never been happier to be so utterly wrong! Definitely worth the read. You will not be disappointed.
Admittedly, this ranking should probably be a 2. The intensity is what kicked it up for me, particularly from Atlas. He was focused on Monique and determined to have her no matter what. Atlas is a werewolf shifter and Monique a witch. She lives on an island where Atlas has come to hunt down rogue werewolves or wolf, I'm not sure since there wasn't enough information to figure it out. Atlas gets thrown off once he realizes that his mate is on the island and his purpose shifts to claiming Monique. The claiming seems to just involve sex and continual declarations of "mine" with Monique returning in response variations of "yours" and "always". There is no biting, no magical mythical binding words spoken, no wedding, or other formal claiming that I've come to expect from other supernatural stories. Monique is pregnant and we get to meet all of the brothers who now consider Monique and her friend Latasha as theirs in a family sort of way. The story ends with Latasha being kidnapped, as in between Atlas and Monique's story is a mini story about Latasha being mated to Atlas's brother Ares. Ares and Atlas's other two brothers came to the island as backup because there was an evil wolf who wanted Monique and had seemingly been stalking her.
Generally, my dissatisfaction with this book is due to the lack of explanation, the omnipotent knowledge that somehow is known by everyone without any explanation, the scene skipping, and the errors throughout the book. The idea is great and I could see this book being fantastic if it's given more depth, but as written, the reader gets lost and is never given an opportunity to catch up before the book ends.
This was a really great read! I think the intense expression of the main characters made me see the connections between them, and because of that I could see the fast pace love that formed between them:
Loving the characters in the stories! The plots are really good! The spice is good too!
The only thing I would change if the repetitive writing/phrases. For example every time an Alpha walked into the room the air shifted. There is multiple parts were the phrases are repeated a lot: I was able to ignore it though because the plots were good. Def worth the read!
The story is like a really really rough rough draft. It starts multiple times, but with different vibes and POVβs. It repeated itself over and over again. The characters felt hollow and confusing at times because of all the male characters having A names. ( Ares, Adonis, Aeolus, and Atlas). And the female characters were no better. We didnβt get an in-depth explanation about how witches work. No world building. Just lots of descriptions of powerful and lethal wolves.
The dialogue between the characters was lacking. And they tried to make Latasha the dark skinned sassy friend who was the βbossβ, but that failed. Also how does her premonitions work? I DNF it early on in the story and picked up the second, but came back to this one again to finish it. And the battle was so anticlimactic.
They wolf brothers were suppose to be ancient killling machine themselves and have years of combat, but couldnβt handle mercenaries and were tired in the beginning of battle? Plus Atlas killing micha (the rouge hunting Monique) was over on like two sentences. Then they go home and hunch. Ughh.
I like the idea of this story but the execution of it was not quite it. The plot structure was choppy in a way that needed development. This felt like a series of semi-isolated scenes that were put together. It was more so a plot with a bunch of things that happened rather than a story with a plot problem and well developed characters. It reads like werewolf smut with tropes. I think the author has solid ideas but she might need a book development editor. I wish she had developed the characters more and got down to the internal and external conflict. To me it didnβt make sense of Monique to value her life as is and have trauma from an ex to drop draws on the first night no matter the mate bond. Monique was more a shell of a character without much depth. Atlas, Ares and Latasha too. The series has potential it just needs to not be so shallow.
Iβm basically giving this two stars because I think the author loves writing. The author is very descriptive, uses a lot of words to describe how characters are feeling. (Often to the point of redundancy.) Unfortunately, the writer does not use words to build the world that the story takes place in or to flesh out the plot.
So many story elements are missing. Setting, motivation, plot points. You have no idea if it is present, past, or future. You donβt know if itβs on this Earth, a different Earth or a whole different planet and universe. T.C. Clark doesnβt give backstory on any of the characters, or their motivations. We donβt even know what why the MMC even showed up on the island where the MFC was living. At less than 130 pages is very clear. This was an outline of a story that never got filled in before it was published.
Monique retreated to island life after dealing with a break up. She is walking along minding her business when there was a shift in the air. The cause of said shift, her mate.
Adonis is visiting the island in search of a rogue. When he is about to step off the boat, his attention is drawn to his mate, Monique.
They dance around each othet until they cant. Through his wolf senses, he know that a rogue is after Monique. He calls for back up to help protect Monique and catch the rogue.
A short interesting read. There was a lot of " shifting in the atmosphere." However, it wss still a good enough read that I want to know what happens next.
Great series starter! - Atlas and Monique are fated, paired before they ever met and destined for an HEA. But there's another who thinks to poach Atlas's mate, not to love and cherish her, but to breed her. She's a garden witch, you see, meaning she is compatible with all alpha wolves. A prize to be certain. But the interloper underestimated Atlas and his brothers, warriors who will protect their own with a fierceness no enemy can withstand. Passion, desire and blood will mark the MCs' mating, as they fight for the love that is meant for them alone. A doubly good story as Ares and Latasha are paired off, but there is so much more in store for them. I am going to love this series. The AI narrator didn't take much from the story.
I don't normally read werewolf romance, and I rarely let cover art determine whether or not I want to check out a book... until this one. I'm glad I deviated from my usual fare and gave this book a shot.
An alpha wolf finds his fated mate without even looking for her. Outside forces conspire to take said mate from him, setting in motion a war that is bloody and devastating.
If you like paranormal romance featuring werewolf clans... this story is definitely worth checking out.
Great start to this series about the Stavros brothers and their mates Someone always wants something that doesnβt belong to them What they donβt understand is that the Stavros brothers will burn the world down to get their mates You will get action, suspense, loyalty, family love and support When you take someone from them be prepared for War Excellent read, canβt wait to read about the other brothers It will be Epic!
Wow, this was the first installment to the Stavros brothers. From the first moment Atlas saw Monique it was on. Any trouble she was in Atlas was right there to protect her. His brothers did the same b/c Monique had become their family. Iβm now onto the second installment with Ares and Natasha. Iβm looking forward to reading the entire series. Good job TC Clark. This series is definitely a page turner.
No plot. No cohesion. No world building. Things just happen without explanation. The characters were not fleshed out or developed enough. Some things were put in as an afterthought just so they were there. There was no proofreading at all because a lot of the mistakes could have been caught by a proofreader.
The potential was there, but no care was put into making this a good read.
Monique felt it instantly. Atlas smelled her instantly. The two of them were headed for true bliss. Atlas wasnβt taking no for an answer. Monique is going to be his!!! Monique thought about running but the pull was too strong. The chemistry between the two of them was undeniable
This is a quick fun read. I really enjoyed the story and I definitely at some point will probably finish the other books in the series. My only gripe is that this was in third person, I hate third person POV with a passion that's why this is a four-star instead of a five-star read for me.
I liked everything about this book. The people the setting Their Power their Loyalty to each other their determination The book Is loaded with wonderful endeavors Monique Is sweet kind yet Strong enough to be the Love interest FOR A LAST. She is having A baby And that Will start their family Ares store IS Next and it is A must ReadβΊοΈβΊοΈβΊοΈ
Monique was happy in her world, where she could do her magic, feeling the earth. Then her world was turned upside down when Atlas showed up to claim her as his mate. Unbeknownst to them a rogue werewolf was on the prowl and he wanted Monique. With the help of his brothers one war was won, but another was coming. Loved Latasha and Ares.
I was behind the plot. But there is so much jumping around it was hard to keep track of what day we were on. The original villain is slain so easily and I never fully understood the reason he wanted Monique. Latasha's story seems more clear. It was a good short, but not my favorite.
I really liked this first book. Strong men and strong women who fight and support their men with their own unique strength. I liked getting books with a good storyline and this delivers. Sometimes the sex scenes went on a little to let long for me. I know what goes on behind those closed doors I donβt need every detail. I will be reading the next in series.
This one was so good! I am about to start the next one because when I tell to you this had just enough spice and the storyline was so good! Let me tell you this is a must read!
A perfect paranormal story, you can feel the heroβs strength with each word and there are four of them! Cannot wait Aresβ story. Welcome back to a fabulous author! π
I am totally in love with this fantasy. Alpha meets his mate and heaven help any dumb a$$ that tries to interfere. Yes thank you so much for the second book teaser.
Storytelling was detailed and sweet. Book could have been a little longer. It was pleasant that Latasha was there for Monique; was the warlock after Monique or Latasha? Atlas and Ares are going to start hunting ππ
I love the intertanglement of two love stories at the same time. Also, I envision the way Black women talk in that fearless way even when we are scared. Thank you for creating men who can match them.
No spoilers I was looking for an adult reverse harem. Then I found this little gem. I mean the author and her books. Great fast read, great sex and strong black woman. I hate it when the women are full of angst ... not these women. Thank you T.C. Clark.
This felt like a bait and switch. How didnβt get to the end and get no conclusion on the FMC story and them jump straight into the next couple? I felt like I got nothing out of the MC. Very disappointing
First time Iβm reading this author and I like what Iβve read so far. Iβm just not one cliffhangers even if theyβre at the end of a happy ending for the MCs.
