Cora Roberts—half-angel doctor, reluctant supernatural mediator, and flame-haired magnet for supernatural disaster—has survived demons, devils, and death itself. But when the barrier between worlds shatters and restless spirits pour into Louisiana, she faces a reckoning unlike any before.
Her mate, Hudson, is furious she’s secretly dealing with Donn, the god of death. The aunts are meddling with curses that threaten to backfire spectacularly. And humans are finally seeing the monsters in the dark.
As if wrangling ghosts weren’t enough, Cora uncovers the truth about her bloodline—one that makes her more than Nephilim, more than Indigo, more than even Heaven or Hell intended. Which means Eloise has every reason to fear her… and every intention of striking first.
With Donn’s bargains hanging over her soul and Indigo no longer a shadow but part of her, Cora must decide what kind of legend she will become—savior, destroyer, or something far more dangerous.
Because the ghosts aren’t the only ones haunting her future—and when the Veil falls, Cora will either be its guardian… or its grave.
Adaline Winters writes heroines who bite back and the alpha males who fall to their knees because of it. Known for weaving sizzling tension with deadly twists, she delights in leading readers through stories full of betrayal, desire, and the kind of cliffhangers that leave you cursing her name—and still begging for more. If there’s one promise she makes, it’s this: her heroines will never go quietly, and her heroes will never come out unscathed.
She lives in England’s Lake District, where the scenery is dramatic, the weather is stubbornly grey, and the dog in her house is somehow even more chaotic than her characters. Her husband and daughter are used to conversations being interrupted by sudden mutterings about plot twists or declarations like, “What if I just kill him instead?”
When she’s not plotting new ways to make her readers scream (and swoon), Adaline is probably crocheting blankets that never turn out quite square, or losing precious writing time to her daily Wordle obsession. She claims it’s brain training for crafting fiendish plot twists—but in truth, she just likes to win.
Romance novels are her first love, especially those where strong, sharp-tongued heroines drive alpha males to the brink of madness. That’s the energy she channels into every book she writes: sharp, sexy, a little ruthless, and completely addictive. If you like your stories dangerous, your tension sizzling, and your heroes utterly undone by the women who refuse to bow… welcome to her worlds.
Another great ending to the series, but I hope there's more. As per all the books in this series it is full of action, witty banter, friendships and relationships being tested, secrets being revealed, with twists I didnt see coming. Great character development, I am sad its all over.
Ok this is the Conclusion to this wonderful Paranormal Series. I totally loved every single book and I am just a bit sad that this is the last book, but one must have a conclusion to the story line at some point and this is a wonderful ending. I am looking forward to reading other books by this writer. I very highly recommend reading this series and start reading from the beginning in order to be able to follow the story line properly.
What a great continuation of this series. Who knew Hudson could even get more growly than he was in the first few books of the series! I think I enjoyed seeing his character develop in this one the most. I loved the Rebecca and Ezra storyline. Fantastic world building. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
Listen, this is Not a spicy, clutch your pearls and pray your kids never find out you are reading this book. So, I just want to clear this up. Is there raw passion, light smexy times yes. I think there is not enough sex in the book bn a wolf shifter and his mate! Hello, wolf shifters books are usually way more graphic in telling so calm down ladies! Okay, I did read the previous book so I could get into this book. I wanted to set myself up for a good read bc I had pre-ordered this book 2 times so I was READY! NOW,do I think this author has a certain recipe to cora Robert's books? Yes and I am growing tired of it! Major disaster like her evil grandmother letting out spirits, I thought there would be more of the world need cora to answers things. The word that is coming to mind is calamity. There is a disturbance then cora confers w her aunts and Hudson and the rest of her house guests and then boom.hudson will wish her away to his cabin. Add in visits from her father, death angel, her uncle lucifer and her grandfather, God! Hello! That's alot of funny jokes and witty banter! God going to Hawaii for drinks was funny! Now Sebastián, her bff I didn't feel like he git alotta words in and he fell flat. The vampire princess and Ezra, wolf Tha was always gone I can't wait to see their mating. The teenage bobcat I pray gets an epilogue that we find out more information on her. The scene when she helps an elemental witch w her turning her boyfriend into a frog was so confusing and offered nothing to the story! It's a distraction, calamity then boom Hudson swoops in and takes her to his tree house. The whold avoiding her wedding is getting tedious and has me rolling my eyes! Now, finally getting rid of grand mother Eloise seemed so easy in the end that it has me scratching my head as to why they didn't do this at the beginning or middle of the book. So, the veil had chosen cora to rule. I don't know what that entails so but I feel like it's gonna be boring. Now, we are all waiting on the wedding great but don't do the same recipe. Calamity, talk w aunts then be whisked away. Please give cora and Hudson an ending w happiness. Because 6 books it needs to have an epic Ending!!! The 2 star rating is not bad the book is good I am just tired of every book being and sounding the same. I have learned to Never start a series until it is all the way finished. I cannot reel what I read last year. I cannot keep on reading the last book to be in that bubble of feels so I can be in Tha world. I will read the next book but I pray it comes out in 2026!
I have so many thoughts running through my head after finishing this book, but the one thought screaming the loudest in my head - I need more!!!
I absolutely love this world and all the characters in it! I love the mixture of witches, shifters, vampires, ghosts, angels, gods; all of it! But with all these characters and woven storylines, it makes it harder for me to keep things straight. We’re five books in at this point and the story has evolved so much. So many things have happened, I really had to rack my brain to try and remember what happened in the previous books. This is definitely one of those series that would be better for me to read all at once, or do a re-read before each new release, but time isn’t always on my side and I’m too impatient to wait! lol Regardless, that’s a “me” problem and all I’m trying to say is, this story is a bit more complex than your average series and there’s a lot going on in this one! (At least I think so.)
The one thing that has stayed consistent throughout this series though is my girl Cora and her witty, sarcastic attitude. I just love her character! I also love how unpredictable this series is. I really don’t know what to expect in the next book, considering how this book left off. I feel like the biggest storyline wrapped up pretty nicely, however there are still so many little things that need to be addressed and other things I’d like to see happen, that I’m nowhere near ready for this series to end!
I’m really looking forward to the next book and can’t wait to find out what’s in store for Cora and the gang! I’m excited to see how it’s all gonna end for all the characters I’ve become so attached to throughout this incredible series!
That about sums this book up. Cora does good! Cora is embracing all the parts of herself, past, present and potential future. She is coming into her own and using every part of her power to accept who she is and where she has come from. So many questions are answered and a few more are thrown in for good measure.
This book is a fast paced and detailed journey for Cora and her amazing band of side characters. I couldn't put this book down as I was so enthralled. Yet at the same time I wanted to savour it as I was enjoying it so much.
I won't summarise or spoil anything as you need to read this book blind. If you've come this far you will already have a good idea of Cora's potential and her incredible relationships with those around her. This book serves to strengthen bonds and build honesty and trust. Cora continues to have an all consuming bond with Hudson. These two are endgame. There is no length Hudson will not go to to support and protect her. And the characters surrounding all have their parts to play in giving pieces of the puzzle to Cora and supporting her to the end.
Enthralling paranormal five star read to start 2026.
Devoured this, and still want more. Adaline’s imagination is second to none. The imaginative, descriptive writing is so intense that you actually feel that you are there alongside Cora and her tribe for everything that she endures. It is full on throughout the whole book. Cora still struggles with what has happened to her, but is determined not to let Eloise win. Cora does not easily forgive Hudson or Uncle Lucifer for their deceit, and even more so when she discovers the extent to which everyone else is involved. Alongside all of her own battles, they are still fighting Eloise and Cora is fighting off a determined God of Death, Donn. Hudson is still determined to be her protector, which includes doing his own deal with Lucifer. This is a brilliant continuation of the series, which I devoured, however, there is still a lot going on in the background with all of the other characters, so much so that it sometimes can feel as if there is too much happening all at the same time with little space for explanation. Please Adaline, let Cora have a day off! Cannot wait for the next book, to hopefully share the details, hurry up Adaline!
But its gotten so convoluted. I can't even n tell u what the mfc is. She has.gained so many different powers/abilities that I have no idea. Half angel? Witch? half elemental, or is she basically a minor god now because of all the powers she gained. ??She's made some really stupid choices without finding out all aspects of the debts she takes on. She keeps toxic murderous people in her life even after they try to attack/kill her. The solutions to problem keep getting more and more confusing, like, u understand the solution as its being performed, but its so unbelievable and out of left field that I simply come to the terms the problem was solved, skim a lot, then move on to next chapter. By the last half of this book, I was only reading to be finally finished with the book. I'm complaining a lot, but it was still entertaining and interesting. I would definitely still recommend it. Maybe I'm just a real simple b!to who would've never understood it. Read it!
I laughed, I smiled, and had about 10 different panic att@cks… this book is definitely a wild one to read. I loved being reacquainted with some of my all time favourite characters, and being back in this world. I never know what to expect when I’m reading a Cora book but this book blew all of my expectations. I loved Cora’s strength in this book and her absolute devotion to ensuring her found family is safe. Hudson was book husband material and so much more, I love the way he loves Cora. Who doesn’t love a growly ‘she’s mine’ shifter? I really can’t wait for them all, even the fantastic side characters to all get their happily ever afters.
As always, Cora and Co give us a run for our money. The betrayal and pain from the previous installment is raw and warranted and it takes our girl a while to work her way through it. Hudson, as always, is Hudson. He never gives up and neither does she. I liked that all aspects of Coras family were present a lot throughout this one, we get to see more of her grandfather and see her accept who she is- he even lends a little bit of a hand even though he's not supposed to 🙂. Cora and her family wage through the bad and come together to end this installment perfectly. looking forward to the wedding of the year next!
I thought that this book was going to be the last book in this series but it seemed that there was maybe another book in the future (yay!). Still a lot of unanswered questions and problems were resolved here which i was happy about. Although ive loved Cora and Hudson from the start of this series it's the surrounding characters that have made it a brilliant read for me. As they brought on the fun and the funnies. This was another great book in this series and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book.
ARC. I love this series and this book was another great read. I just felt like something was missing and it was lacking some of the magic of previous books. So many characters have been introduced over the course of the series that some only seem to get a passing mention as a reminder that they're still involved. It sounds like this may have been the last book in the series - that would be a shame if so as there are a lot of questions left unanswered and the ending certainly suggested there was more to come.
I honestly love these books, but…there is always a but. But Eloise got taken down to easy, the monologues got tedious and hello hunters a reaper, and one or two pages was all that upgrade got. Dave and he’s secrets and Rebecca and Ezra wow Harry needs a ghost gf. And the books need more action not just wo is me and blah blah blah hopefully the next book Cora comes back completely kick a** confident and a real power house
This book was a fantastic read that no matter what I needed to do, I could not put it down. The pace is perfect for the story, changing speeds when necessary which kept the story moving. These characters are wonderful and you feel like you have known them forever and there development gets better with each book. This book will not disappoint. It is the perfect read to start off your new year with.
This book series keeps building, and building on itself as you read pulling you in to the story. The twists and turns keep you full immersed, the pages turning and makes it so hard to put down. This book and the whole series begs for a reread as so much happened and it was just that amazing. This was just released, and I am already looking forward to next book. Ms. Winters thank you for sharing your talent, imagination and word wizardry with us.
It is January 2026 and I have been waiting since May last year for the next installment of Cora Robert's life. I was not disappointed! With Gods interfering, daddy issues and let's not forget Hudson and possessiveness, Cora has a weighty burden on her shoulders and a grandmother to beat.
Thrilling, exasperating, chilling and filled with love, Adaline Winters gave me the perfect New Year saga to devour.
All the previous books in this series were really well written, clear storyline, character development, and great snark. This book, I am not quite sure what happened but it just does not hit the mark. It’s confusing in some sections. Feels rushed in others. And the ending did not have all the closure that I was expecting after such a long wait for this book.
Another fantastic read by Adaline Winters. Full of action, secrets revealed and relationships being tested. Cora and Hudson are planning their wedding day but the end of the world blooms behind them. Cora and Hudson have secrets which are causing problems. Eloise Cora’s grandmother is causing havoc with the souls and the world. Pete the one-eyed frog was a hoot.
What a read! This series has taken us through the wringer and this book doesn’t disappoint. My emotions were all over the place! The story line is quick paced, full of more twist than a roller coaster and full of the crazy we love from this cast of characters! This series is a delight to read!
Well the fun and insanity continues, with grovelling from Hudson (iykyk), sassiness from Cora and craziness from the rest of the characters I’ve come to love in this series. If you love adventure, romance, fierce FMCs, dominant MMCs, quirky and insane characters and lots of laughs then I 100% recommend this series.
My favourite series by far - I adore Cora and her world. I was desperate for this book and it didn’t disappoint. The exploration of Cora in her new being and her relationship with Hudson kept me gripped. All the side characters added to the book that I devoured in one sitting! The writing and character building was on point another fabulous read !
What a thrill didnt know where this was going and just when i thought i did it twisted again but at the end cora had to except who and what she is and that love is a power that shapes us all life is a jurney and death is the end but it isnt alway easy to get to♥️📚♥️
This was a very good series i loved all the characters but i felt that this book ended too abruptly yes there is a satisfactory end for the baddie i feel there could have been another chapter or at the very least an epilogue .where is the wedding?
Cora and the gang strike again. I really enjoyed this series so far. It's filled with intrigue, humour, sarcasm and a wee bit of gore. My only gripe is the lengthy sex scenes. I personally find them tedious and repetitive. Ones imagination is so much better.
This story was quite a ride a lot of ups and downs and intense moments for Cora and Hudson and their rag tag group of family and friends. It keeps you guessing through out the entire story.
I have devoured this entire series and loved each book. However, I thought I read this was supposed to be the final book of the series. This didn’t read as the last book. Are we getting another one? I hope so!
This series has been absolutely fantastic! It draws you in from the start and keeps you wanting more. I can't wait to see what's next. Thank you Adaline Winters for sharing your talent with us?
Again, love the series, despise and loathe the endings. Where is my HEA??? There’s no epilogue to tell us about them getting married. The ending leaves a lot to be desired. And the fact that this is the last one even more so. Completely disgusted. The endings are what kept me from giving it five stars, and it is also keeping me from buying them.
There was so much build up and horrible things that happened and all they had to do was that? I’ll admit it I’m a bit disappointed from a series standpoint.. but the story itself was still addictive and funny
