At times, it felt a bit repetitive for such a brief biography and, honestly, a little boring—but to be fair, I tend to find most biographies a bit dull, so that’s not saying much.
It covers the basics of who J.D. Vance is and what he stands for/believes in, but don’t expect much depth or new insight.
Crazy twist: he was once publicly opposed to Trump—calling him “a morally reprehensible human being,” even “America’s Hitler”—and now he’s serving as Vice President under Trump!
I listened to this. It was a little boring at moments. Although, I enjoy hearing the stories of individuals through biographies. The story of Vance is an incredible one. It is very cool to learn of his growth from a rough childhood to becoming the VP. It is encouraging! I want to read Hillbilly Elegy.
Interesting to learn more about JD Vance and his rise in politics. The author was repetitive at times, but none the less I learned some more about Vance.
I liked Hillbilly Elegy which was JD Vance’s autobiography better. It covered more of his early life. While this biography touched more on his career and his stint as a venture capitalist.
