This was a short and straightforward read.

At times, it felt a bit repetitive for such a brief biography and, honestly, a little boring—but to be fair, I tend to find most biographies a bit dull, so that’s not saying much.

It covers the basics of who J.D. Vance is and what he stands for/believes in, but don’t expect much depth or new insight.

Crazy twist: he was once publicly opposed to Trump—calling him “a morally reprehensible human being,” even “America’s Hitler”—and now he’s serving as Vice President under Trump!

I listened to this. It was a little boring at moments. Although, I enjoy hearing the stories of individuals through biographies. The story of Vance is an incredible one. It is very cool to learn of his growth from a rough childhood to becoming the VP. It is encouraging! I want to read Hillbilly Elegy.

Some of the writing was a bit repetitive, but outside of that this offers a digestible overview of Vance's background and political identity.

It does focus more on the political aspect of his story, with a few references to Vance's memoir.

Definitely not the biography of family life I was hoping for… it’s very political and his rise to power in politics. Meh… not for me.

Interesting to learn more about JD Vance and his rise in politics. The author was repetitive at times, but none the less I learned some more about Vance.

I liked Hillbilly Elegy which was JD Vance’s autobiography better. It covered more of his early life.
While this biography touched more on his career and his stint as a venture capitalist.
