From Agatha and Edgar Award nominated author Valerie Burns, influencer-turned-bakery-owner Maddy Montgomery has sold plenty of wedding cakes before, but before she turns one out for her and her fiancé’s wedding, she’ll have to solve a little case of murder first…
Aunt Octavia would be so proud! Maddy has turned Baby Cakes Bakery—named for her 250-pound English Mastiff, Baby—into a runaway success, and she’s marrying the love of her life, veterinarian Michael Portman. #DreamWedding! Plus the timing couldn’t be better: the country’s biggest bridal expo has come to New Bison, Michigan, and Maddy has secured a spot for Baby Cakes to showcase their cakes. She’s also entered a contest for an all-expenses-paid wedding extravaganza offered by world-renowned wedding planner Serafina.
Unfortunately, supremely nasty Serafina truly takes the cake—she makes the worst bridezilla seem like a shy flower girl. But there’s one thing the wedding planner didn’t plan on—being impaled by one of the skewers Baby Cakes uses on their tiered wedding cakes.
While Maid of Honor Sheriff April Johnson rounds up suspects at the expo, Maddy and her aunt’s friends, the Baker Street Irregulars, and even Baby join forces to unveil a killer hiding in plain sight . . . before wedding bells start to chime.

This was the fourth book in the Baker Street Mysteries series and it is a fun series. This was a very short cozy mystery that was pretty straight forward. I like these characters and was glad to see a new volume, but this one had more about Maddy’s upcoming wedding than the mystery and the solution was rushed a bit (and not as twisty as I would have liked). I listened to the audiobook and I really liked the narration. Maddy is getting ready for her marriage to Michael, but she is worried that she will not make the right choices and she wants it to be perfect. She enters a social media contest with a famous wedding planner because she knows having her tell Maddy what she should want would give her the perfect wedding. Unfortunately the wedding planner is murdered before the contest can even be finished.
"Icing on the Murder (Baker Street Mystery #4)" by Valerie Burns has a slightly different story than the past books. The book bridging mystery of the past three books is solved in the previous book to this one. Now it's just the current mystery, plus Maddy's wedding planning and a bridal expo to represent at and attend as a guest.
Maddy is really hoping to win the wedding planning service of a famous wedding planner. Not only would it be good content for her influencer pages but it would also let her enable her fear of making tough choices. Despite Michael not wanting a public spectacle of their wedding. Seriously, did he forget who he was marrying. She's very lucky that he kind of seems to realize this too.
Well, without going into spoilers territory, someone ends up dead at the expo. There a several secrets revealed and the culprit ends up being one of my top picks. Though the investigation seemed to just blow past me. Next thing I knew the culprit was being revealed. I honestly don't know how they thought they were going to keep money that had to be reimbursed back to the original source. Boils down to a lot of selfish people pushing each other over the edge in the end.
Except, Maddy figures out she can make choices about her wedding after all. Glad she worked that all out of her system before getting too far into things.
Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for providing a free ALC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a simple, cozy, murder mystery that might have been a little better for me if I had read the first three books. While you don't have to read them in order as they have their own mysteries, it would have helped to have had more background on the main character and how she has progressed thus far. The supporting characters were interesting, and I'm definitely team Baby! I am interested in reading the first three books to help bring the background of the story out more, and definitely suggest trying from the beginning as you may feel the same way. Or just give one a try and see if you like it, especially if cozy mystery interests you.
Our favorite #influencer-turned-baker Maddy is back! Along with her fiercely loyal pup, Baby, and once again, murder is on the menu. This time, Maddy heads to a local bridal convention to compete for a chance to have her dream wedding planned by none other than the famous Serafina. But when Serafina turns up dead, it’s up to Maddy and her usual crew to crack the case.
I typically read this series more for the cozy vibes than the mystery itself, but unfortunately, this installment felt rushed and lacked the charm I love. Once the murder happened, the pacing became too rapid. We barely had time to dig into the suspects before the (very obvious) killer was revealed. While the motive was eventually explained, the unraveling of the mystery felt abrupt, and I missed spending more time with Maddy and her quirky circle as they stumbled through solving the mystery.
A few side plots had potential but weren’t developed enough to add real depth. The story could have benefited from more breathing room to showcase the cozy elements and character dynamics fully.
That said, the audiobook narration was solid, even if the repeated #hashtag references started to get a little annoying.
What still works in this series are the heartfelt themes of family and community, and the added recipes continue to be a delightful bonus.
Huge thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Cozies for the advanced listener copy in exchange for my honest review.
I am a complete Valeries Burns fan and love all of her books, but the Baker Street Mystery series is my favorite, at least for now. That might be because they are the ones I have read most recently, but the books ARE excellent. The 4th and newest book in the series, Icing on the Murder, brings of a marvelous array of characters and once again puts a real mystery right in the laps of their amateur detective plus one group. The group joins Maddy as she attends a Bridal Fair as an exhibit and a bride which pulls in lots of directs. The situation gets even tighter when a bridal consultant who makes the worst bridezilla look calm gets put in her place. Icing on the Murder is a fun read as well as a complex mystery. Thanks, NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for allowing me to read and review this great cozy mystery.

#DreamWedding! The biggest bridal expo in the country is making a stop in New Bison, Michigan. Maddy Montgomery is so excited not only because Baby Cakes Bakery will have a booth at the event, but plans are underway for her and veterinarian Michael Portman’s upcoming wedding. She has entered a contest hosted by world-renowned wedding planner Serafina for an all-expenses-paid “wedding extravaganza”. There is so much to do, Maddie hopes Serafina will help her make all the important decisions.
Serafina turns out to be nothing like Maddie expected. She is mean and nasty. She has dug up dirt on all the couples entered into the competition and embarrasses them on stage in front of everyone at the expo. Her “plan” was to see how they reacted under pressure; well, they reacted all right. During a short break, the famous wedding planner’s plans went off course. She was killed using a skewer commonly used to hold layers of wedding cakes together.
Sheriff and Maddie’s maid-of-honor, April Johnson, takes charge of the scene and gathers the obvious suspects to question. Maddie assembles the Baker Street Irregulars, aka friends of her Aunt Octavia, and her 250-pound English Mastiff, Baby, to start their own investigation to try to catch the killer before the expo closes. With a killer on the loose, no one is safe. If Maddie wants to walk down the aisle to marry the love of her life, they need to put icing on Serafina’s murderer before they can say “I Do!”
When social media influencer Maddie’s Aunt Octavia died, her inheritance not only included her home, her bakery, and her 250-pound English Mastiff, Baby, but all her aunt’s wonderful, quirky, and lovable friends. Maddie is surrounded by love and people who care about her, including her BFF, the sheriff, and her tenant, April Johnson. The icing on the cake was meeting Army veteran and veterinarian Michael Portman. The man she has fallen in love with. The community that Ms. Burns has created in this series always warms my heart. Her characters are unique and have a purpose within each story. Their dialogues ring true.
These characters are strong because of how they come together when one or more are in trouble. They are faced with a complicated mystery. They ask questions, listen to each other, throw out theories, and make plans on how to proceed. Then they go off to investigate and later gather together again to report their findings. And then they repeat if necessary. The death happened in a large venue filled with people, plus there is a time limit. I was completely entertained following along. The takedown of the killer was fierce and fantastic. It started with me holding my breath and ended with me smiling ear to ear. #CrimeDon’tPay #YouHadItComing
A subplot features Maddie and Michael’s wedding plans. Maddie is feeling overwhelmed, and Michael was very understanding. Wedding budgets are stressful, but they finally agree on their budget. Of course, winning the contest would have made everything easier. A very special item was found, and it brought back memories of not only my wedding but my daughter’s. It was so meaningful for Maddie.
It wouldn’t be a Baker Street Mystery without the awesome Baby. The English Mastiff rarely leaves Maddie’s side. He has a special talent that everyone would like to avoid, but when it happens, the mystery begins. His love for Maddie and his trust in her are heartwarming, even with all that drool.
Icing on the Murder is an excellent addition to this fun series. I truthfully cannot get enough of these characters. Their devotion to help each other fills me with all the good feels. This visit went way too fast. I can’t wait to return to New Bison and see what Ms. Burns has baked up for Maddie, Baby, and their friends next.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Thank you to Valerie Burns, Kensington Cozies, and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.
Maddy Montgomery, who has turned her late great-aunt's bakery into a huge success and is engaged to the love of her life, Michael, a vet who she met through the mastiff she inherited along with the bakery and a house as long as she makes the bakery work for at least a year.
Maddy has a stand set up at a wedding expo. Michael goes along as well since she's entered a contest to win free wedding planning from the famous Serafina. It turns out Serafina is a nasty woman who--surprise, surprise--ends up murdered. Maddy and her friends set out to find out who killed her before she's blamed because Serafina was killed with one of Maddy's wedding cake skewers.
What a delightful cozy mystery! This one focuses on Maddy juggling her wedding planning alongside a full-blown murder investigation that unfolds during a bridal expo which was such a fun and chaotic backdrop. You’ve got cake deliveries, social media contests, dress prep, and then someone gets stabbed backstage. It’s light, playful, and still delivers a satisfying mystery.
I adore this cast so much they feel like old friends at this point. Their dynamic is warm and witty, and Baby, the 250-pound English Mastiff, absolutely steals the spotlight yet again. I also loved how Maddy’s personal growth tied into the story, especially her figuring out what she truly wants for her big day, not what others expect.
And let’s talk about those recipes at the end of the book. I will definitely be trying a few! They were such a charming touch and made the story even more inviting.
If you love cozy mysteries with wedding drama, baking, quirky humor, and a lovable group dynamic (plus one very large dog), this is an absolute treat. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
Maddy and friends are ready for another adventure, and this one is centered around planning for Michael and Maddy's wedding. With a wedding expo in town, Maddy and her team from Baby Cakes Bakery have a booth set up, but maybe even more importantly, Maddy is determined to win a wedding planned by the social media darling, wedding planner Serafina. After Maddy and Michael agreed to a smaller wedding they would pay for, not the Admiral, Maddy is determined to get help to make everything perfect. Maddy and Michael end up in the running to win the grand prize but in the meantime discover that Serafina is a horrible person who looks to humiliate people and bully her staff. When she is stabbed backstage at the event, no one is surprised, and the possible suspect list is large! What follows is a romp through a wedding expo with all our regular favorite Baker Street Irregulars. One of the things I love about this series is the humor, and we get that here, but my favorite part of this book is Maddy finding some serious pieces of her personal history! It was incredibly moving, tied into her wedding, and also helped her discover more of who she really is and what matters most to her! A great mystery, a lesson in history and heart, everything and more you could ask for from a book! Many thanks to #Netgally, #Kensingtonbooks, and the author for the opportunity to read. #IcingonaMurder #BakerStreetMysteries #ValerieBurns #bookreview #bookideas #retiredreader
I am getting whiplash from the changes in Maddie's character.
Once again, we're back to depicting Maddie as a frivolous person. And I had thought that we were doing that just to expose how biased we are to women who are interested in fashion. But no, it seems like the author actually hates her own character.
She lies to Michael for no good reason whatsoever. The other books had this wonderful air of mystery and conspiracy and everything and this was just her being shallow and shenanigans ensuing.
Also, there's one extremely hateful fat phobic paragraph about a person being "one big Mac away from a heart attack". There's so much wrong with that medically socially everything. That's just so wrong. I really enjoyed these books, but I don't know if I'll read another.
This 4th book in the Baker Street Mystery series is a fun read, complete with plenty of potential suspects, a cast of delightful amateur sleuths, and a lovable mastiff. What starts as a visit to a wedding fair and a contest to win the services of a wedding planner ends with murder and more questions than answers. This is an entertaining, quick read and I enjoyed it immensely.
I get really giddy whenever I spy a new Baker Street Mystery releasing from Valerie Burns. First, because those covers are – no pun intended – to die for! Some of my very fave illustrated covers for sure. But the other reason my bookish heart always skips a beat when I see Baby and Maddy pop up on another novel is this: the characters are so. much. FUN. Baby, the 250-pound English Mastiff that Maddy inherited (along with the bakery) from her Great-Aunt Octavia, of course steals the show… and Icing on the Murder may be my favorite example yet. But Maddy, her fiance Michael, her best friend April, Michael’s grandma Miss Hannah, Maddy’s head baker Leroy, and the rest of the ever-growing group of Baker Street Irregulars have all completely captured my heart. Their close-knit relationships and well-timed humor make me smile in every book, and they certainly do in this latest one.
Icing on the Murder weaves the murder of a wedding planner (who also happens to be a truly horrible person) into Maddy & Michael’s wedding planning struggles. The more we learn about the victim, the more I disliked her… and I daresay I’m not the only one. A whole passel of characters in this book would definitely agree with me. The chaos of a wedding expo (which Burns captured perfectly) combined with the unique world of influencers & social media (I always love the hashtags Maddy uses!)… combined with cake baking and apple deliveries and a bridal competition and all the decisions Maddy has to make about her wedding… combined with a murder…. whew. It’s a lot on Maddy. But Valerie Burns is a master at penning delightful cozies that blend multiple plot threads into one cohesive story that grips your attention, and Icing on the Murder is no exception. I loved following Maddy and crew through their investigation AND through working out the details for her wedding (I adore Michael for her!!). They unearthed so many layers in their sleuthing, each one more intriguing than the last, and even though I had the culprit pegged after a certain point (not right away) there were still some twists that I did NOT see coming.
Bottom Line: To say Maddy has her work cut out for her in Icing on the Murder, and Valerie Burns too by default, would be an understatement. Planning a wedding. Running a bakery. Promoting that bakery at the bridal expo. Winning a contest. Solving a murder (and trying not to get arrested for it first). But the author seamlessly layers each of these elements into a delicious story that will keep you turning the pages, grinning, cheering, sleuthing, and yes even swooning a little, too. The bond these characters share and their tight team dynamic – whether in the bakery, helping a friend, or solving a murder – is truly special, always entertaining and uplifting to read. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for these wonderful characters (who feel like dear friends) next!

ICING ON THE MURDER by Valerie Burns The Fourth Baker Street Mystery
Social media influencer and bakery shop owner Madison Montgomery is excited that a huge bridal expo is coming to New Bison, Michigan. Not only will she and her crew promote Baby Cakes Bakery, she'll also be able to check out all the nuptial possibilities for her own wedding. The biggest news is that Serafina, the hottest wedding planner in the world, is having a contest for one lucky bride to have a Serafina planned wedding. Afraid of too many bridal decisions Maddie is determined to win. Unfortunately, Serafina is a horrible woman who goes out of her way to make people miserable. Before a winner can be chosen Serafina is murdered, by Baby Cakes' skewers. Trooper Bob is ready to accuse Maddy, but with the expo and subsequent murder occurring at the casino, there's a question of jurisdiction. With little time for the Baker Street Irregulars to solve the crime, the friends divvy up the suspects. Will they solve the murder before it's too late?
I must admit I was behind in this series. I'm generally a stickler for reading series in order, but thought I'd jump in. Consequently, I was a bit confused at the start; Maddie getting married?! However, I soon got caught up and the mystery itself required no prior knowledge, so even if this is your first Baker Street Mystery you'll quickly get into the swing of things.
Perhaps because I'm older I have an issue with social media influencers. But what was really annoying me about Maddie was her inability to trust her own decisions and a need to have another influencer plan her own wedding, despite what her friends and fiancé said. Who cares about the types of chairs or how napkins are folded?! However, this series is one of growth and Maddie does have the ability to develop and grow. For all her insecurities she is smart and likable, although not as likable as Baby. Baby is a wonderful, slobbery, giant ball of love who is a valiant protector as well. The one thing I discovered that I did not like is that Maddie intends to use him as a stud. There are too many healthy animals who are killed as there are not enough homes and promoting breeding, even in a work of fiction, is wrong. Baby is one in a million, but Maddie should not see breeding him as a way to earn money!
I enjoyed the mystery. With a tyrant such as Serafina there were so many suspects. I enjoyed seeing the Baker Street Irregulars work their magic and find the killer. I also loved how the team worked together, not only in solving the crime, but also watching Maddie and Leroy working together to create new cake concepts!
Bridal options, delicious food, and a 250 pound love bug make ICING ON THE MURDER a delectably fun mystery.
Big Thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for the advanced copy! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
'Icing on the Murder' is the fourth book in the 'Baker Street Mysteries' series.
The book follows Maddy, a social media Queen turned baker, as she sets up to meet a famous wedding organizer to help her out with her upcoming wedding. However, things get complicated when the said organizer is murdered.
First of all, I loved the characters. Maddy is fiesty and relatable, and I loved her and her fiancé, and their dynamics. The dog was adorable as well.
The story is interesting, furthermore, but it took too long for the mystery to be introduced, even though the murder case had many twists and turns. It focused a bit too much on Maddy's story rather than the actual mystery case, not that that wasn't entertaining.
The audiobook was also well narrated and gave character to the book. The production of it was well managed as well.
Finally, I loved the recipes at the end of the book.
It was a fun and fitting conclusion to this cozy series. I loved getting more time with these quirky characters, and even though the pacing was slower than the earlier books (the murder doesn’t happen until about 40% in), I didn’t mind since I was already invested in the cast. I really enjoyed how it wrapped up, and I’m hoping we’ll get spin-offs or future stories that give more focus to the side characters too.
I would like to thank Netgalley, Kensington Publishing and Valerie Burns for the E ARC of this book. This is book 4 of the A Baker Street Bakery. Maddie and Michael as trying to sort out all the details for their wedding. It so happens that a big wedding expo is coming to New Bison and not only has Maddie secured a stall for her Bakery but she has also entered herself and Michael in a competition to win an all expenses paid wedding extravaganza by a famous wedding planner Serafina. Serafina is not all gentle and nice as her name may suggest, she is ruthless, rude and will bully anyone she can. When she ends up dead with two cake skewers from Maddie’s bakery impaled in her neck, Maddie and her friends have only hours to solve the murder. The dynamics of the characters and the way they worked together was well written. I loved that Maddie gave them all tasks to do and then they congregated to discuss their findings. The way they all worked together with so little time and came up with the answer was well developed and the plot moved well. I enjoyed seeing Maddie develop even further in this book and really work out what was important to her and to Michael. Her growth through all 4 books has been good to see. I love all the supporting characters and what they bring to the plot and overall enjoyment of the book. Would recommend this series.

Rating as a movie: PG-13
My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️½🐕📱💒👰🏾🎂☠️
My thoughts:📱Chapter 11 - I have no idea what percentage this is because Boundless doesn't tell you so I'm just guessing. I really should have gotten the e-book because I don't remember it being this slow. I guess the plot is interesting just waiting for someone to die at this point. 📱Chapter 20 - I'm so confused. I had to go back and play it again and it still doesn't make a lot of sense. I'm just going to go with it.
This story flowed better than the first 2 stories but the plot was thin. I also didn't like how they ignored the evidence. It was obvious whodunit.
Recommend to others?: Maybe it's a solid cozy mystery series.
Baker Street Mystery 1. Two Parts Sugar, One Part Murder (2022) 2. Murder is a Piece of Cake (2023) 3. A Cup of Flour, A Pinch of Death (2024) 4. Icing on the Murder (2025)
From the very first chapter, *Icing on the Murder* had me hooked like a piping bag full of buttercream. This cozy mystery is the perfect mix of small-town charm, witty banter, and just enough drama to keep you side-eyeing every character. Listening to it on audiobook made it even better — the narrator absolutely nailed the voices, pacing, and humor, making me feel like I was right there in the bakery, sipping coffee and eavesdropping on all the delicious gossip.
The story follows baker and amateur sleuth Maddy Montgomery as she’s knee-deep in buttercream roses *and* a murder investigation. Between juggling her bakery business, her adorable (and hilariously spoiled) dog, and trying to clear someone’s name, Maddy proves she’s as sharp as her cake knives. I loved how the mystery unfolded — every time I thought I had it solved, Valerie Burns tossed in another breadcrumb that sent me spiraling in a new direction.
The cozy vibes are immaculate, but the stakes are high enough to keep you hitting “next chapter” without pause. If you’re a fan of *Gilmore Girls* energy with a sprinkle of *Knives Out* intrigue, this is your sweet spot.
🎧 **Audiobook note:** Highly recommend listening if you want to feel fully immersed — it’s like having your favorite barista tell you a juicy true-crime story while frosting cupcakes.
**ARC Review — thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Valerie Burns for this delightful listen!*
Icing on the murder follows Maddy Montgomery and her beloved friends as she inadvertently gets caught up in a murder mystery of a renowned wedding planner.
I must say I love the narrator; Jasmin Walker! I’ve been listening to the audiobooks for this series since the first book and I am never disappointed. This narrator does such a great job of capturing the character’s personality. She really brings the character to life and adds depth and emotion to the character. I love her enthusiasm as a narrator.
The story was very engaging and the characters were so lovable as always! I enjoyed following Maddy as she worked her crime solving magic.
This is my favorite of the series thus far and I am so hopeful Valerie Burns continues to write this series and Jasmin Walker continues to narrate!
I highly recommend the entire series for a great, heartwarming, and fun cozy mystery!
I received an ARC of this audiobook from RBmedia via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I love this series so much. It's like spending time with a friend, full of laughs and lightheartedness, but also passion for her friends, family, business and of course her adorable english mastiff, Baby. I am SO happy for Maddy and Michael, they are such a good match with lots of banter and fierce loyalty. I love how he lets her be herself and does not judge or hold her back. I love how proud they are of each other no matter what. This book was FULL of drama for all the characters involved in the mystery; phew it was a whirlwind of surprises and betrayal. My head was spinning with all the lies and was shocked, but also not surprised by the ending. I have so much fun following Maddy and her sleuthing crew investigate and cannot wait to return!
Note: I listened to the audiobook and usual it was perfect and really brought out Maddy's personality and all amazing side characters.
Thanks to the Kaye Publicity, Inc. for an ARC and RB digital for the ALC; my thoughts and review are my own.
Wedding jitters, wild shenanigans, and a dog who steals the show—instant fun!” 🐾💍🔪
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4 stars) Icing on the Murder (Baker Street Mystery #4) by Valerie Burns
This cozy mystery had me laughing out loud! Maddie may be anxious and indecisive about her wedding plans, but when a crime happens, she’s all focus and action—and her quirky dog and friends make the ride even better.
The mystery is a light backdrop to the humor and heart, and the audiobook narration by Jasmine Walker was so engaging I forgot I was listening. Perfect for cozy mystery fans who love shenanigans, lovable pets, and fast-paced fun.
Icing on the Murder is the fourth book in the Baker Street Mystery series, but it can be read as a standalone. In this story, Madison Montgomery, a social media influencer and owner of Baby Cakes Bakery (named after her massive mastiff, Baby) is planning her wedding with her fiancé, the heroic and handsome hometown veterinarian, Michael Portman. Luck would have it that the nation’s biggest bridal expo comes to the small town of New Bison, Michigan giving Maddie the chance to showcase her wedding cakes and enter a contest for an all expenses paid dream wedding planned by the famous yet vicious celebrity wedding planner, Serafina. Maddie finds herself in the midst of another mystery when Serafina is found murdered by cake skewers from Baby Cakes! Maddie and her friends sift through suspects and clues to prove Maddie’s innocence, find the real killer, and solve the case.
This marvelous mystery is filled with surprises. There are also some delicious recipes shared at the end of the book! If you love cozy mysteries that highlight comedy, romance, and friendship, you will thoroughly enjoy this story and the entire Baker Street series.
Thanks to Kensington Publishing for providing me with an advance copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
It’s a fun, cozy mystery with plenty of cake and small-town charm. When a wedding planner ends up dead, the baker and her big, goofy Mastiff get pulled into the investigation, making for a light and enjoyable read.
Maddy's getting married and Baby is still perfect! I love a good cozy mystery series. These books are a fun break from the usual genres I read. Plus it's always nice to visit favorite characters and see what they're up to.
A great addition to the series!! I loved seeing Maddy and Michael’s marriage planning. The bridal expo on Native land was also a great setting! It felt like both main and side characters were getting good character development. While I did catch onto the murder quickly, it was just a fun read!
Did it keep my interest? 2.5. My listening time was broken up by Bill Simmons first real football podcast of the year. A must listen for me.
Did I enjoy the topic? 3. A light murder mystery. The wedding planner and bakery settings were fun.
Was the dialogue realistic? 2 The dialogue was heavy on action and needed some more character build up for me. It was rapid fire. This happens, then this happens, then this happens, then this happens.
Would I recommend to Jen (smart, discerning reader)? 2. Jen would love Baby the Mastiff. Probably not much else
Would I have recommended to my Mom (read for entertainment)? 3. Mom would love Baby the Mastiff.
Quality of narrator? 4. Jamin Walker did an excellent job narrating. She has been in two seasons of Law and Order (I win again) and many other projects.
