5-star ARC reviews are coming in!

"Vanya & Jeremy are absolutely adorable. I love this story. It was such a sweet story of finding your person. He falls hard and fast while she tries her best to keep him at arms length. Little sweet, little spice…perfection!" -Jenn, Goodreads

"Okay this book is fantastic. It deals with a real disease (hypermobile ehlers danlos) and focuses on a person using it to their advantage. It is such a unique take on the hockey genre that I did some double takes. Overall the spice level is high and the author straddles the line of flowery descriptions without being vulgar and without making it into a bodice ripper." -Amber, Goodreads

Love, Love, Love

Oh my, how I am loving this series!

Jeremy is the goalie for the Mavericks NHL team and he has been seeing a doctor for his EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome).
Vanya is a new doctor at the clinic Jermey goes too, and she is looking to make treatments better for those who has EDS and she is wanting to work on Jermey.
They have this attraction that is so cute and love they both love musicals and can bond over it. Oh and they are neighbors which is a plus for Jeremy.

I absolutely loved this book! Can’t get enough of these Maverick Men!

Jeremy is a professional hockey player battling EDS (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome). Vanya is a doctor who specializes in EDS.

Their first meeting is hilarious and definitely a case of mistaken identity. Which gives their relationship a rocky start. Vanya and Jeremy have an immediate connection, however being doctor/patient their relationship keeps it forbidden.

I enjoyed their relationship and the back & forth. My heart hurt for their relationship secrecy, but they overcame the odds and I absolutely loved them.

This is a standalone hockey romance.

Jeremy deals with chronic pain, Vanya wants to use him to study Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, as he's a professional athlete and could provide helpful research.

Vanya was a little hard to like at the beginning, she doesn't like small talk and came across a little standoffish, but after a while you can see she just finds it a waste of time and she becomes very likeable.

These two could not stay away from each other, they had amazing chemistry, but had to keep it hidden due to the doctor patient relationship.

I really enjoyed the back and forth between the two. Jeremy was such a sweetheart, green flags all the way.

They have disagreements over various things, but it's not until the end where each of them realises what the other goes through, and it's just what they needed as a couple.

I took to Vanya from the get go.

Having worked hard to be recognised for her capabilities,  Jeremy immediately and unintentionally,  undermines her when he thinks she is a stripper rather than his new doctor!

From there, both Vanya and Jeremy both have walls up that need to be broken down before they can move forward.  However as doctor and patient (Jeremy is an ice hockey Goalie),  both highly professional in their own fields and both with disengaged parents, this isn't as easy as it seems.

It's a good thing then that they have off the charts chemistry and a shared love of old musicals and fresh baked cookies.

I love a hockey romance and in particular with Goalie Secrets, the aspect of the doctor/patient relationship drew me in and held me captivated to the very end.

Jeremy and Vanya get off to a bit of a rocky start, I mean thinking your new doctor is a stripper sent as your birthday present from your sex addict father is never going to be the best start to a doctor patient relationship 🤦🏻‍♀️

Once they iron out their initial first impressions of each other things start to change and the undeniable chemistry starts to flow between them.

This is a very well written romance, my favourite thing is that they both still stay true to themselves. I hate those romance books where they suddenly become these sappy people that forget everything that makes them, them!

Couldn’t put it down!

Her Impossible…

After an awkward meet cute it took Jeremy lots of groveling to get Vanya to budge. Since Jeremy was her patient she tried to keep their chemistry at a simmer but they couldn’t keep away from each other.

I enjoyed their banter and all of the awareness about his condition. Jeremy was straight forward in his pursuit of Vanya. He knew what he wanted and didn’t back down. He also listened to her when his career was at stake. I also enjoyed that this was based in my hometown.

It’s been a good series so far and I look forward to more by this author.

Laura gives us the next standalone book in the Columbus Mavericks series! Jeremy is the star goalie for the Mavericks and when meeting his new Dr, he mistakes Vanya as a singing stripagram and totally insults her. She forgives him, however and they discover a blazing chemistry that neither can resist. To find out how they get from here to their HEA, dive into this wonderfully written book with complex characters and plot twists that keep you guessing and turning pages throughout. I loved reading this story and highly recommend the series! Don't miss out on this book!!

Goalie Secret is part of The Columbus Mavericks Series. It is a forbidden Medical romance between our male lead Jeremy and our female lead Vanya.

I loved Jeremy and Vanya and reading thier storyline. I've loved how the characters relationship was between them and how Jeremy was so respectful and sweet guy to Vanya.

Vanya needed that considering that how her mother was horrible to her. Jeremy showed her her worth. This was such a great read.

Oh wow. There were so many big emotions in this book. From messed up family dynamics to situations that could make or break careers, these characters were really going through it all. I adored Jeremy. He was still all alpha, but in a sweetly quiet kind of way. Vanya just left me in awe. She’s so strong and capable, yet we get to see that she’s subject to the same fears and doubts as the rest of us. It hurt my heart to watch them have to hide their feelings for one another. However, their sneaking around gave us some of the spiciest scenes in the book. I loved their story and I’m feeling a bit bereft now that it’s over already. I can’t wait to get my hands on whatever the author has for us next.
I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.

Wow! This is my first read where the doctor is the FMC and the patient is the MMC! It had me hooked and on edge all at once! Expecting them to get caught, which spoiler alert…………………………………………………………….
they didn’t which honestly surprised me as in almost all reads like this they get caught out.
However it wasn’t all happy and lovey dovey they did have bumps in the road.
Really liked our FMC Vanya love how she cares!
Thankfully they managed to overcome them! Overall a good read and the ending was good.

Oh, this one was so emotional! Vanya was trying so hard to improve her best friends quality of life, with her research, so falling in love with her subject of the study was never going to be a good thing, but the chemistry between her and Jeremy was too hot to ignore!
I loved how hard he fell for her, and that moment of realisation when she knew she loved him too? Gorgeous.

Quirky

Vanya is a highly respected medical doctor who arrives at the wrong time into Jeremy's life. He mistakes her for someone else which starts the Rollercoaster rife of the relationship. Each encounter reveals a new layer to the other person that connects them with multiple ties. I enjoyed how awkward and real they are and their friends to secret to more.

This was just what I needed in a cold winter day, a strong and protective but cinnamon rolly MMC with a very competent but sometimes insecure FMC that would do anything to protect those she loves. It was amazing to see Vanya grow as a person and getting out of her shell and to see how Jeremy quietly and surely cares for her when not even she knew she needed help standing straight. All the feels, with a dose of forbidden love. Great read!

This book was AMAZING I really loved it.
Jeremy is the goalie for his team the Mavericks NHL team, unfortunately he has EDS - Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
As he sees a new doctor for his treatment he meets Vanya who will be taking over his care.
You can see the attraction in them both which is adorable and they have a few things in common which makes them bond over. Vanya also lives next door to Jeremy which is a bonus for the pair.
Vanya is very caring person and wants to make the lives and treatment for those who have EDS better for them.

Sweet

This is such a wholesome sweet romance with a bit of spice. Well written, we follow Vanya as she embarks on the next journey in her career. When unexpectedly attracted to the star hockey player patient she wants to use as her research subject, things get a bit off course. Jeremy and Vanya go through some emotional moments in their journey to each other. Great book!

Goalie secrets by Laura Marquez Diamond is a cute, forbidden spice medical hockey romance that has tons of hot chemistry, witty banter, and lots of drama and spice to keep you entertained.

Vanya and Jermey may not have had the best of starts but boy was their chemistry burning hot! I love how Laura created this storyline and represented a MMC dealing with a chronic illness and how it didn’t stop him from doing what he loves. And really? Who doesn’t love a good forbidden romance?!?

This book features a forbidden doctor/patient relationship, spicy scenes and likable characters, with a funny meet cute. Jeremy is a star goalie with the Mavericks hockey team. Vanya is the expert doctor who treats him for a painful syndrome. They have great chemistry between them and a sweet romance, despite the fact that their relationship is taboo. The story is engaging and the writing is very good.

I’ve read several books by Laura Marquez Diamons but this one is my favourite. I loved how Vanya is a fierce female in the medical field and pushes back when warranted. Jeremy is such a lovable guy who loves fiercely, is protective as can be and just wants to play the game he loves.

These two met through work. They had an instant connection that they hid but if anyone actually looked they would have seen the chemistry these two have. I loved their spicy times. Overall this book kept me coming back for more and not wanting to out it down.

I really loved this book and I hope you do too.

This was such a cute read! Vanya and Jeremy clicked right away, and it was so fun watching them try and fail to fight their feelings. Their chemistry was just too strong. I really enjoyed seeing their relationship grow and how they worked through their emotions. Such an enjoyable story!

This was my first book in the Columbus Mavericks series (though not my first by Laura Marquez Diamond) and I loved every moment!

I zipped through Goalie Secrets which has some medical details, and some hockey details but really is a story about two people trying to find their place together, despite the challenges that work and society present. Vanya is an incredible physiatrist doctor, specialising in treatment which can help hockey goalie Jeremy with his painful chronic condition (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome). The chemistry between them is clear, and Jeremy in particular struggles to hide his feelings. Still, as doctor and patient they cannot have a romantic relationship without endangering her career so everything must be kept secret, which brings its own pressures.

The representation of Jeremy as demi-sexual was an unusual and very enjoyable change from an average hockey playboy - his emotions needed to be involved before there was physical attraction (in this or his previous relationships) and this combined with being thoughtful and sincere made for someone that Vanya could easily trust. I also enjoyed the slight reverse age gap (always my favourite trope!) - Vanya is 30 and Jeremy is 26. Getting even further into representation; Jeremy is of Guatemalan heritage and enjoys cooking the food his mother fed him for Vanya - I don't think I've read about a Guatemalan hero before and I adored him for many reasons but his home cooking was definitely one! Vanya is a commanding Canadian with an Indian heritage so it's great to have two BAME (I'm British) / BIPOC characters as our focus. And don't get me started on showing someone with chronic pain (hello, that's me!) winning at life but of course having to make changes and sacrifices to do so. This is such a fantastic narrative because of course he has to adapt, but he can still excel, his condition doesn't define him. So well done Laura MD, thank you.

But this book isn't just about all the fantastic representation, it is also just a delicious love story where I was rooting for both characters and felt all the way through that they deserved their HEA. Jeremy's golden retriever energy, and Vanya's protective care are beautiful to see unfurl together. I feel like I've highlighted half the book with quotes that made me chuckle or that made me melt - the writing just clicked with me!

Thank you to Laura Marquez Diamond for the ARC, this is my honest opinion.

Dr. Vanya Kapur has dedicated herself to getting her degree and doing investigative research on connective tissue disorder that her dear girlfriend suffered from and was always very professional in all aspects of her life until the day her patient Jeremy Lopez, the goalie on the Mavericks hockey team becomes her patient and that did not start out well as it was his birthday and his father had been sending strippers to help him celebrate his birthday and he had no interest at all in that sort of thing. So, thinking Dr. Vanya Kapur was a stripper and he tried to tipper her well let’s just say that did not go over well. As they were together so that Dr. Kapur could use his treatment in a research paper. The incredible attraction between them was making it harder and harder to be “professional” This is wonderful story on how Vanya grows into her own identity in spite of her mother. And although the rules were laid down that this was just a short time relationship you really must read to see the outrageous situation that the two of them find themselves like laughing what is Jeremy doing under the desk in Dr. Kapur’s office as she is talking with another colleague?

This is the first I have read from this author and I absolutely loved Vanya and Jeremy's love story. Vanya Kapur is a chronic pain doctor looking to make a name for herself with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome in athletes. She gets a huge break with the goalie of the Mavericks, Jeremy Lopez, who suffers from it. She moves to Columbus to start her research with Jeremy as her patient. Their first meeting was absolutely horrible but then Jeremy gets a taste of Vanya's magic and feels the best he has in a long time.

Their relationship starts to build with having the same birthdays and a mutual love of classic musicals. However, Vanya fights her feelings due to the doctor-patient relationship ruining her chance at publishing breakthrough research she has fought her way for. They finally can't fight it anymore and it is chef's kiss! There is so much more that I could be here all night writing but this book was so good and I highly recommend it.

Vanya is a doctor who just located to Ohio for a special one year research fellowship. Jeremy is the star hockey player with EDS that is going to be her head research project. After their first meeting fails spectacularly, they start to find each other impossible to resist.
OK, either this author is very familiar with Columbus or she really loves to research details in her stories. Since this is the first one I've read from her, I'm not sure which yet. I live in Columbus and am familiar with EDS and hospital settings, so I was really happy that it felt like she knew what she was talking about in her writing (except for a Columbus hockey team being good). I loved both Vanya and Jeremy. I understood where each of them were coming from and liked that the POV changed every chapter. I also like that it really wasn't that predictable. Contemporary is not a genre I read very often but I got to a point where I couldn't put it down until I finished it.
I highly recommend.

STANDALONE
HOCKEY MMC
DR FMC
FORBIDDEN ROMANCE (DR/PT)
HE FALLS FIRST

Our MMC, Jeremy, is a hockey player and is the goalie. He deals with chronic pain. Our FMC, Vanya, is a doctor and wants to use Jeremy to study Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. Being a professional athlete he could provide helpful research.

Vanya is a nonsense kind of person. She doesn’t like small talk and thinks it’s a waste of time. She just wants to get right down to it. That doesn’t keep our charming Jeremy from breaking down those barriers though. Swoon. The chemistry between them was amazing. They couldn’t stay away from each other, but due to the doctor-patient relationship they of course had to keep it hidden.

This book was a fun quick read and I highly enjoyed it. The back and forth between the two was great. I love the ending where they finally realized what the other was going through and were able to be what the other needed. 100% recommend
