★★★★! The Token 8, part 1 of 2. From opposite worlds, Chet & Kiki find common ground in the bedroom, and possibly their pasts!

There are 9 parts to The Token series. Though most enjoyed if read together and in order, they can be read as stand-alones; Part 1-6 is Mick & Faren, part 7 is Thorn and part 8-9 is Chet & Kiki:

Kiki, The Token, part 8 is the first installment in heir, Chet Sinclair, Sin aka “No e” and pre-law graduate and former stripper Kandace King Kiki’s story. We have met them as side characters in the previous books; Kandice is Faren’s best friend and Chet is Mick McKenna’s friend. It’s not necessary to have read the previous installments to enjoy their story.

Here is most of their first meeting, which took place in The Token, part 6:
Kiki takes a solid sip of her drink and manages to fold her arms across her considerable boobs.
“So, you're the Chet Sinclair? No e.”
Mick gives Chet his drink, and I watch him swing his honey-colored hair out of his eyes and take a sip of a martini. He takes the olive off the plastic spear with a practiced twist of his tongue. It's obscene. Kiki can't look away.
“That's right,” he finally answers.
“I think I'll just call you No E.” Kiki nods vigorously. I'm amazed to see she might be nervous. Kiki never gets nervous. Very interesting. Chet looks at her over the rim of the martini glass.
“Whatever. I've been called worse.”

At first glance Chet and Kiki have nothing in common; their backgrounds and circumstances have them moving in different circles. Chet, heir and playboy is not expected to associate with a biracial girl from the projects, the child of a French mob boss and a black prostitute.

Kiki knows this so she brushes Chet off during their first few meetings, which has never happened to him before. For the first time in his life Chet is showing stalker tendencies (LOL!) by persistently pursuing Kiki. After some coercion from her friends and after another run-in she relents…..

We are immediately treated to sinister Chet aka Sin as he exposes his dominant and kinky side in the bedroom, but we also have glimpses of a sweeter and attentive side.

As the story progresses we learn that Chet and Kiki both have secrets and painful past that could lead to a deeper connection. But unfortunately there are villains waiting in the sidelines…

The Token, part 8 offers a bit of everything; plot, sex, intrigue, villains and hints of darkness. It’s hard to rate novellas as there is usually not enough… which is sort of the case here, but thankfully there is a part 2 to their story, Chet Sinclair, The Token 9 the conclusion of Chet and Kiki’s story.

Cocky, kinky and sinister hero! Sizzling sex scenes! Excellent story-telling!

The long wait is over, Kiki’s story is finally here.

Struggling with her past and the possibility of a connection greater than she’s ever known, we get a front row seat to watch as Kiki’s darkest fears of true intimacy unravel before our eyes. Will she jump at the chance of pure happiness or keep her shields in place and lose it all.

Keep that fire extinguisher handy, there is some highly combustible sexual chemistry. The Token 8: Kiki blows away the essence of 50 Shades with its highly erotic and steamy sexual encounters. But it isn’t all steam…there is some serious meat to this plot.

Who would of thought the fun loving, go with the flow, spit fire that we’ve come to know as Kiki would have such incredible hidden depths. I guess I was most shocked by the depth of Kiki’s inner pain. Eros scintillating writing is only topped by her outstanding ability to create deep and heartfelt emotion with the written word.

We are left on the edge of our seat... I will be biting my nails waiting for Chet’s story...

4 Smoking Hot Stars!

Okay, so I skipped book 7, Thorns story, which I don't advise doing, and moved on to book 8 because I've been waiting to read about Chet and KiKi. Man oh man they did not disappoint!The chemistry between these two is sizzling. I'm moving straight on to book 9, the second part of their story and then I'll go back to book 7 ;-)

My Rant:
Chet and Ms Kiki are a hit together. I cant get enough of these characters. Honestly they are made for each other. This intense and griping story is captivating, funny and intriguing. Ms. Marata defiantly put her stamp of sass on this story. Kiki is witty, smart and all out in your face. Her personality keeps you at the edge. She is bold and daring, which pushes you past the limit of return. Chet is the ultimate bad boy under the demeanor of a rich arrogant punk a$$ but he is not that at all and boy does he lay on the the sex appeal that makes you so woozy you cant stand and what makes him stand out is that he is no chump. Chet is defiantly ready to go to war for the women he loves although both characters are not ready to admit , we as readers can feel the tension through the pages. Don't get me wrong I loved Mick and Faren but I feel that Ms Eros her best foot forward when she created these characters. Chet is eludes and air that keeps you on your toes, Kiki is defiant but submissive to him. What a combination of characters, action and hot sex, way to hot but that Ms. Eros style and you got to love her for it. I adore her writing style and edginess but what draws me to her emotional is her ability to write dark stories that lore you in a grip you from your heart down to your toes. The Cliff hanger at the end of this book made me loose my mind because I needed to know where Chet and Kiki are in this rocky relationship that was started hot and heavy. The emotional angst is enough to make you climb the walls. I cant wait for the next release.

My Recommendation:

Overall I love this book and the Token Series. I rated this book 5 out of 5 Purple Rant Hearts and would recommend this book to anyone that loves a romance that is an emotional roller-coaster that is full of action. This book has all the elements of a great story with a dark edgy twist. . I will be adding the Token 8 to my favorites list.

The words she writes form sentences. Sentences form paragraphs, and those paragraphs turn into the most intricately woven chapters, bringing you a most deliciously dark affair that is Chet and Kiki. The further into this series I get, the more I want. My greed for Marata’s writing knows no bounds. Chet will intrigue you, excite you, frustrate you….”he’s raw, unfiltered, violent, and passionate”……and oh yea……..he bites.
The Token 8 is just as addictive and intoxicating as The Token 1 ~ 7. Another must read in a fabulous series. Read The Token 8, Kiki’s story, and you will find your next book crush in Chet ~ he will consume you and you will “crush” hard. Chet will leave you desperate with anticipation for his story.

The secrets these two hold and the happiness they are trying to run to and from had me turning the pages fast. Only thing the I hate is that it ends in a cliffhanger and have to wait until February!

This entire series was exciting, dangerous and erotic, all the things that make it such a terrific read. I love that the story is narrated in the first person but not always the same person. Each section is from a different character's point of view, so I know all the underlying feelings and intentions of every scene and every character. Everyone's tale is explicitly heartbreaking, but we watch them climb out of that pain into something that makes their lives worth continuing. The danger is gripping, and the sex scenes are wickedly sensual. I fell in love with each of the characters, cheered when they stood up for themselves and felt the love that overtook each of them. I definitely recommend them if you're up for a hot read!

Loved this!!!!

Continuing on with the series was a huge triple plus. I absolutely loved Kiki when when met her in the start of the series and I couldnt believe she was getting her story!!!.

Chet/Sin is alpha and dominant and arrogant and persistent, and who better than Kiki to get him to make that alpha roar.

As a couple they are off the shot HOT and I need to read the next part like RIGHT NOW!!!

All up another brilliant piece of the Token series one that I cannot wait to continue on with.

I was torn between giving this book 4 stars and 3 reason being the storyline was good but the story ended at 75% on my kindle which is disappointing. If it's a short book it's a short book but I feel as a reader it's deceiving them. But I went with the latter because the book deserves the stars. With that being said onto my review.

First and foremost I am so glad Kiki has Farah, Mitch, Thor and Ax in her life. After everything she has endured she deserves to have such wonderful people who care and look out for her. The relationship between her and Sin is for the same reasons and their lives although from different social statuses but they have both suffered the tragic sufferings as a child yet neither of them know it yet. Hopefully those same statuses allow them to be together because I think they are an amazing couple so keep reading to find out.

I'm so mad the way this ended...should have known since the author broke up Mick and Faren's story into 6 books...but when she tied up Thorn and Juliette's in 1 I thought...ok good...let's finish this! BUT (big butt)...I didn't anticipate there being such a deep story to Chet...I love him to pieces so I'll wait for the final installment like a good girl and buy it when it comes out. My defiance is my 3 rating...HAH!

Kiki- witty, funny, hard worker, incredibly smart, lives life to the fullest,. But desperately lonely. With the sadness of her past she swore off men until Chet kept chiseling down her wall. He is a man full of an alfa personality who knows what he wants. But there is such darkness in him that Kiki's future with him will fall apart before getting better. Love Kiki.....

Love that Sin and Kiki have found each other. One is rich and broken, and the other is poor and just as broken. Hope kiki didn't run away, just to do something stupid and lose sin forever.
