It’s spring, and love is in the air! Wedding bells are almost chiming for Lady Lily and Viscount Tobias, but will a dark family secret resurface to spoil their nuptials?
Tabitha and Wolf have just arrived back in London after their relaxing stay in Corfu. They haven’t thought about murder investigations for almost two months. However, any hopes they have that this respite might last a little longer are shattered when the groom’s father, Clarence Williams, the Earl of Warwick, is accused of murder just before Tobias’ wedding day to Lady Lily. Can Tabitha and Wolf clear the earl’s name in time for the wedding to proceed as planned? And what on earth is the dowager doing teaming up with Uncle Duncan, of all people?
Will Lady Lily and Viscount Tobias walk down the aisle and live happily ever after? Only if Tabitha and Wolf, with the help of the dowager and Uncle Duncan, can find the true killer.
Unusual mystery, involving family and the wedding of Lily and Tobias! However, I am tired of the Dowager Counters trying to run evrrything! The first books that she forced herself into the investigation were funny! Now, she is just annoying, rude, and abrasive! I think the others are much too lenient! Mystery, however, was very unusual and the solution was superb! Great reading experience!
I really enjoy this series. Tabitha and Wolf are wonderful characters. I like the growth we are seeing with them plus the other entertainment people. The only fly in the ointment is the dowager. No one stands up to her and it gets an annoying after awhile. To me it takes away from the story. I really like the twists and turns in this story non the less.
This has been a powerful series from the beginning book, and this latest adventure was no exception. The characters are powerful each in their own right, the plot is straightforward, and the premise is finding out if an aristocrat soon to be part of their extended family is truly guilty of killing another aristocrat who had bullied him all through his adolescence and early adulthood. The answers were complicated and the Dowager Pembrooke's life was put in danger, but all is balanced in the end. I definitely highly recommend this book and eagerly await the next one.
The behavior of the Dowager Countess takes away from these otherwise good stories. She is cruel with her words. I am disappointed that the hero, Wolfe, doesn't stand up to her. The story would be just as good or better without the Dowager. If the author had even toned her down throughout the series it would have been better but no ....that did not happen. At least Jane finally stood up to her.
With the entire crew ready to plan the last details of the wedding, someone is late, someone has been arrested, and someone will not speak of the mysterious circumstances; all that must be solved without any help..until Tabitha & Wolf solve the puzzle& indeed a wedding can take place.
I'm totally into this series! Tabitha's such a sweetheart, and Wolf is just the nicest guy. They're always opening up their home and helping folks out. Wonder if we'll get to see Bear find his own happy ending in a future book?
