When Darcy hires a forensic accountant to go through her company’s books, Emmett, her ex, was the last person she expected to see. Emmett knew he messed up when he broke up with her and now is determined to get her back. Darcy has to deal with a lot all of a sudden in a very short amount of time and Emmett stays by her side to help her through it all. Emmett is the kind of person anyone would want in a relationship. Not everyone is perfect but the way he loves Darcy proves that he will never leave her again if he can help it.

I liked this book! Darcy was a really strong FMC and I loved her a lot! There was also a little mystery subplot in the book that I really enjoyed. Overall, it was a nice, comfortable, and easy read!
Although I liked this book, there were a few things that weren’t my cup of tea. As I said, I loved Darcy. However, I didn’t quite connect with the MMC as much. There were a few times when I would feel for him, but other times where it just didn’t seem like he changed much from his past ways. It was like he changed a lot, but also would revert back to the old him just as much. The new him and old him were at a 50/50 balance, whereas I feel that his new self should’ve outweighed the old self by the end. Besides the MMC, I felt as if the wrap up of the conflict (I mean this as in the conflict of the book, not my personal problem), was a little rushed.
Overall, I did enjoy reading this. It wasn’t my favorite, but I still liked it! I know my criticism paragraph was longer than the positives, but it’s not because I disliked it more than I liked it. I just wanted to explain specifically! This is just my opinion, and I know someone else will come along and completely disagree! And that’s perfectly okay! I saw some descriptions of some other Raven Blake books, and I intend to check those out! This book in no way turned me off of her work, and I will definitely be reading up on the others! I would recommend this to all the second chance romance lovers out there who need a good pallete cleanser!
I will start this off by saying that I think this book/author just isn't for me and that's ok!
I am definitely a fan of soap opera books (TL Swan could write a grocery list and I would read it), and this one fits the bill for sure. Every chapter has one more wild thing happening that keeps you on your toes and you keep saying "surely it can't get worse!" (narrator voice: it gets worse).
However, I think the writing style here just throws me. Lots of repetitive sentences, lots of telling vs showing, etc. Usually I can power through that and still give a 4 star, but I knocked another off just because the antics of the story are almost too over the top. It gets to a point where I am like, "Ok, I get it, a lot is going wrong here! Let's flesh some out!" but the author just resolves and moves on immediately.
You know when you go to a restaurant and you get like, a garbage burger? It tastes so good! But it's very generic and you can't enjoy just one flavor because you get 10+ in the meal. This book is like that. A lot goes on and if you have a hard time deep diving into a story, it's good for that because it keeps the drama high level. But if you are looking for a flavorful meal, this isn't the one for you.
3 stars because I did like it, even if I had to speed read from the 60% mark on. But I think Raven Blake just isn't for me (and again, that's ok!).

Second chance romance with a mystery at the core will always be a first choice read for me! Darcy is a strong, intelligent woman at the helm her family's company. Her review of the financials gives her a feeling that something is not adding up, so she hires a forensic accounting firm to quietly investigate. Without knowing he is about to come face to face with the former love of his life, Emmett walks into his new assignment and there she is! Emmett is the best in his field, so Darcy is forced to endure his presence in her building, but the arguments ensue, and sparks fly as both deal with the unresolved pain of their past relationship.
Emmett is so frustratingly dense in parts of the story that I wanted to throw things at him! However, he gets high praise for his commitment to Darcy and his determination to support Darcy as she struggles to lead the company she loves.
It is a steamy read full of emotion, unexpected twists and betrayals. I was into the book from the first chapter!

This was another great book by Raven Blake. It was a page turner and the suspense was fast paced and intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn't even put it down. It was addicted. Darcy and Emmett chemistry was sensation of drama and the physical attraction was captivity of emotions and pain. Emmett was so undesirable and the handsome. This love was forbidden but he wanted her back and he will do anything to get her to fall back in love with him again. I highly recommend this book and you won't be disappointed. This was a great story. It's an easy and enjoyable read. I couldn't put it down once I started reading. Emmett and Darcy are great together and I couldn't help but root for them finding their HEA. The ending had me all in my feelings. Beautifully written and kept me hooked from the start. Highly recommend reading.

This romance read is sexy, swoony, and full of up and downs that has you keep reading until the very end. The characters are exciting and frustrating all wrapped up nicely. Get ready because this romance book is a must have in your kindle to see if second chances in love come true with a HEA ending.
Have a tissue handy on the day or two it will take for this steamy contemporary urban enemies-to-lovers second-chance mystery romance in Denver, Colorado where 31-year-old Darcy Young has taken over as CEO of EcoSphere Environmental Solutions upon the death of her grandfather, Cyril Young who founded it.

A complicated second chance romance plot with lots of issues played out - Darcy and Emmett's characters well thought out by the author and the sub plots of fraud, diagnoses and deceit take an appropriate role in the story arc. Recommended reading I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Emmett works for Darcy, his ex girlfriend, trying to help her save her company when it becomes obvious it’s in trouble. In this mess is blackmail, embezzlement, lies, and a stalker. Too much!
2 Stars Second chance romance and accidental pregnancy are two of my favorite romance tropes, but sadly, Get Her Back didn't live up to expectations. I didn't particularly like either of the main characters, especially the MMC. Emmett was terrible at communicating his feelings and often put his foot in his mouth. The suspense in the plot line was interesting, but there was more about what was happening at Darcy's company that what was happening between Darcy and Emmett, especially the unexpected pregnancy. I think there's an audience who will love this book, but it's just not for me.
This was a great second chance romance with a driven FMC and a MMC who knows he messed up. There are so much going on I was even feeling the stress but could not put it down
