This was sweet and emotional. Very emotional.
It had its funny moments too tho.

A few kinks but I think this author has a good start and I’ll be excited to read the rest of the series.

"Until Then" – A Rollercoaster of Feels
Alright, so Until Then by Sara Miller is one of those books that pulls you in with the promise of heartbreak and healing, and it definitely delivers... mostly. The story follows Greer, a widow trying to piece her life back together after a devastating loss. Enter Luke, her late husband’s best friend, and things get complicated.
First off, the vibes are strong. The grief is raw, the emotions feel real, and Sara Miller knows how to hit you right in the heart. Greer’s journey is super relatable for anyone who’s dealt with loss (or just loves a good cry read). The slow-burn connection between her and Luke? Sweet but also a tiny bit predictable. Like, we saw it coming, but we’re still rooting for them.
That said, it’s not perfect. The pacing dragged in a few spots, and sometimes it felt like the characters were stuck in their heads forever. Also, a bit more dialogue and action could’ve balanced out all the introspection.
Overall, this book is like a warm hug with a side of tears. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s definitely worth a read if you’re in the mood for something emotional. Just don’t expect it to blow your mind.

Greer's life is shattered after an accident left her widowed and physically and emotionally scarred.
Moving on with her life after loss is no easy task and Greer resorts to isolating herself. When work relocates her, she is physically pushed to move - to a new school and a new house. What once seemed like a daunting task, soon proves to be a blessing in disguise. Her handsome new neighbour Luke, is always ready to lend a helping hand and a flirty smile and her new girl friends can't seem to leave her alone. Greer seems to have come into the ideal situation to mend her broken heart and move on with her life. Will she be able to conquer her fears and live her life according to what she wants and not what society expects in order to find happiness once again?

This was a beautiful second chance story. Not your typical "they meet after decades to try again" second chance. But one where a broken hearted woman who lost her person has the possibility to give herself a second chance at love and happiness.

Greer started off closed-off and shy, but gradually comes out of her shell with the help of the new friends - Luke and his sister Sutton, as well as their group of friends. I loved how she was embraced by them, making them one big found family. The girl gang was everything! Greer, Sutton and Navy became the most loving and supportive trio, knowing just when to push Greer or just sit with her and let her be.

Luke. Oh captain Luke! He was hot and flirty, patient and caring. This man felt like a warm embrace and was perfect for Greer and vice versa. Their chemistry and deep emotional connection allowed them both to grow together.

This is book one in the Blue Collar Boys series and I'm very curious to find out what happens next!

Thank You to Netgalley, Victory Editing and Sara Miller for my review copy.

Thank you NetGalley, Torn Page Books and Sara Miller for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a great debut book, I enjoyed her writing and style.

Greer was such a refreshing character. She was honest and vulnerable. She felt broken, wanted to avoid living her life and the reality of losing her husband.

Luke is such a thoughtful and supportive man who finds himself drawn to his new neighbor, Greer. I appreciated the people pleaser storyline as that is so frequently a female trait in books so it was nice to see it from the MMC.

From the description I was assuming it would be extremely sad and emotional (and there were aspects of that) but overall it was a story about love and life after loss. Living with grief. Moving forward.

I haven’t been through that kind of loss personally but felt it was handled with a lot of compassion and thoughtfulness.

The friendship with Greer, Sutton and Navy was so fantastic to see. Especially since it was a new friendship and we all know making friends as adults can be challenging. The entire friend group was great and so supportive.

I’m excited for Sutton and Hunters book. Not knowing their history but knowing there was history is such a tease and that cliffhanger has me itching for their story.

I loved this book for so many reasons, I loved that nearly everyone had a relatively uncommon name, I loved the portrayal of grief in several ways and at different stages and in different perspectives, I loved Greer and Luke but cannot wait for Sutton and Hunter!

It honestly took me a bit longer to get into this book but once I got into it I could not put it down, I had thought at first it might not have been my cup of tea however once I got into it I realized that it was because I’m still in the depths of grief myself. Greer’s grief is handled so beautifully and it’s not just all crying all the time, it’s raw and real. It’s not realizing that your loved one is gone until you remember, it’s having flashbacks at unusual times but picking yourself up and moving forward when you can.

This book is awesome, and it deals with grief and love after grief beautifully, and has some wonderful representation of anxiety and people pleasing that ring true for myself. This has actually cured my new year book slump!

Whilst I received an ARC copy of this book, I chose to sign up for it based on blurb/description and honestly loved the book, the playlist and my goodness am I gutted by the cliffhanger!! Bring on book 2 asap please!

I picked this book up from Sara Miller herself at an event in Phoenix called "Author Alley" with Sunrise Bookworm Co. (definitely check out both Sara and SBWC on Instagram, no sponsorship they are just really awesome!).

First of all, the cover art drew me in right away. It's so beautiful. But as I began reading the story, what really kept me coming back page after page was the love. The love between the two main characters, the love found in the close relationships, the love between parent and child — this book has so much love, which I think is very apropos since Sara's tagline is "love ya, mean it!"

The story follows Greer Ashbury, a woman who had everything she wanted — a job she loved, a husband who is a good man, her family close by — for it all to be ripped away in an instant when she and her husband Brian get into car accident that leaves him dead and Greer alive, but with so many scars she isn't sure she can keep living.

Greer in many ways mirrored I think what many, many women feel at one point or another in their lives: alone, wondering if she would ever not feel this empty, lonely feeling in her heart, but also not knowing if there was anything she could do to rid herself of the feeling. I loved how Sara tackled grief and guilt, as both emotions often go hand in hand, and how Greer's friends Navy and Sutton not only give her the space to feel, but also push her to move forward.

Sara told me when I interviewed her (for those who may not know, I am a journalist, and Sara is a local author, so keep an eye out for more on her on 12News!) that one of the main threads she wanted to have in her story was "moving forward, not moving on." That distinction is crucial and so evident in not only how Greer experiences her grief, but how her friends and the people around her show up for her in her grief. Her friends and family hold space for her emotions, whatever they are, and they always defer back to her when she voices her "shoulds" and "what ifs." A big question she often poses is "shouldn't the timeline for XYZ be ABC?" and no one in her life gives her a yes/no answer. They always turn it back to her. "What do you think/feel, Greer?"

I did feel at some points that things were overexplained. First books for any author struggle with that balance of not wanting to underexplain but also not wanting to leave the reader wanting more, so I don't think this is unusual for a debut at all. It doesn't take away from the overall story, it just means the story is a little longer.

I think for people who have experienced grief, this feels like a hug and a reassurance that everyone grieves differently, and that's okay. For people who haven't, it's a good window into what people may be going through, and a reminder to love everyone and love hard. You never know what's going to happen next.

Until Then is the debut novel of Sara Miller which is a complex and early on slow pace read. This five star read is robustly character driven with a sensational plot to support it and help the story’s smooth flow. The pace of the plot ignites around the eighth chapter while the romance remains at a simmer. Sutton went to high school with Greer but befriends her now as an adult. Luke, who is Greer’s love interest, is a firefighter and Sutton’s brother. Luke and Greer have a complex history which comes to light in early chapters. Longer chapters help in covering the POV of Greer and Luke switching back and forth. Author Sara Miller successfully tells a complicated story of how to deal with grief while learning to move forward and find love again. Release date: February 5th, 2025. I highly recommend Sara Miller's debut work, Until then. Grief rep, dual point of view, small town, second chance romance, man in uniform, near proximity, and deliciously spicy are some of the tropes. For readers aged 18 and up, this story addresses challenging issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and flashbacks.

Another beautiful discovery. Until then is Sara Miller's debut novel. And what a debut it is!!! It's a wonderful story of unexpected loss, navigating through grief, social anxiety and trying to live your life again.

It's the story of Greer, a widow who lost her husband through a car accident in which she survived, with physical but mostly internal scars. After living with her parents, she thinks it's time to move into a new house and she is also starting a new teaching position.

Luke is her new neighbour, he is a firefighter but most of all he is a people pleaser. He cannot say no to literally anyone, most of the time leaving everything he is doing to help, without thinking about his needs and his own free time.

I loved every single thing about this story. The characters are so emotionally mature and intelligent, that I have never read anything like it before. They have a really really great communication, which I love with everything I have. It was so fulfilling reading about characters who were open to each other, patient and understanding.

I easily connected with both of them. I have social anxiety like Greer and I have always had problems making and establishing connections with friends like her, so I was totally feeling what she was feeling. But also I am a people pleaser and I can't say no to people, so I know pretty well what Luke was doing, thinking that if I always say yes to anything, people will like me more.

Let's talk about the group of friends. They are PERFECT! I wish I had a group of friends like that. Sutton and Navy?? They are the best friends that everyone deserves. Hunter? He is the male best friend that everyone deserves..

So, in the end for me the open communication and the emotionally mature and intelligent characters was what made this book perfect.

I can't wait for all the other stories in the series. And I hope they will be as great as this one.

🤍Small Town

Until Then is the first book in The Blue Collar Boys Series, and from the very first pages, I knew this story was going to stay with me.

This book had me feeling everything. I laughed, I cried, and sat with so many quiet, aching moments in between. It’s a story about learning how to exist after devastating loss, healing at your own pace, and finding connection when you least expect it.

Greer is simply trying to survive. After losing her husband and suffering injuries herself, she finally moves into her own place where she meets Luke, her neighbor and the town’s golden boy. What begins as easy conversation slowly turns into something deeper. Their chemistry is undeniable, but it’s Luke’s steadiness and patience that truly stood out. He doesn’t rush or try to fix. He just shows up.

One of my favorite parts of this story was the friendships. The sense of finding your people, your chosen family, was woven so beautifully throughout. This tight-knit friend group added so much heart that I found myself wanting more of their stories. I can’t wait for the second book now.

I absolutely loved Luke. His attentiveness, emotional maturity and steady presence made him feel like the full package. He showed love in all the most meaningful ways that mattered most. Greer never believed she would find love again, and her struggle to navigate this new relationship felt so real and vulnerable. The way Luke made space for her grief, welcomed conversations about Brian, and reassured her without diminishing her past was incredibly moving. The healing, honesty, and tenderness in this story gave it so much depth. I adored this book. My new obsession.

Until Then is a contemporary romance novel written by Sara Miller, and also her debut! The book is about Greer, a teacher who was recently widowed in a tragic accident who moves into a new home and meets her neighbor, Luke, who serves as a firefighter in their town. This is a dual-point-of-view story, with both Greer and Luke serving as narrators in the story.

I liked this more than a lot of the contemporary novels I have read in the past few months, and I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that both Greer and Luke are personified not just with each other, but by themselves. Greer had social anxiety before the accident and it’s just been magnified even more. Luke likes to work, but sometimes people take advantage of him due to that fact, including former girlfriends. I liked both of them together, but I really liked them separately!

My favorite part of the book was the friend circle. Every time the whole group got together, the group dynamic was strong. I’d like to see it evolve even more with struggles and arguments in following books, but right now it set us up to show how tight they are, and that they welcome new members with open arms.

This is Book One in a series, and Miller confirmed at the end of the book who in the friend group we’ll be following in Book Two, and there were a lot of hints dropped throughout the book about these characters and their chemistry together. When the Epilogue dropped even more hints, I actually found myself looking forward to reading the next segment in this series and learning even more about our characters!

I’m thrilled that Miller debuted with such a strong novel, and I look forward to reading more of her work in the years to come!

Until Then by Sara Miller was such a beautiful and meaningful debut. I don’t usually gravitate toward widow romances, but I’m so glad I gave this one a chance because it was handled with so much care and emotional depth. Greer’s life is turned upside down after a tragic accident leaves her widowed and dealing with both physical and emotional scars. Her grief feels real and raw, and her need to isolate herself makes complete sense.

When she’s pushed into a fresh start, with a new home, a new teaching job, and a new town, it feels daunting at first, but slowly becomes exactly what she needs. This is such a refreshing take on a second chance romance. It’s not about reconnecting with someone from the past, but about Greer giving herself permission to live, heal, and love again.

The found family in this book was one of my favorite parts! Luke, his sister Sutton, Navy, and their whole friend group embrace Greer so naturally, knowing when to encourage her and when to simply sit with her. The girl gang of Greer, Sutton, and Navy was everything. Supportive, loving, and just the kind of friends everyone deserves.

And Luke… oh, Luke. Hot, flirty, patient, and genuinely kind. He felt like a warm hug in human form. As a firefighter and total people pleaser, he’s always putting others first, and the way he shows up for Greer is incredibly sweet. Their chemistry is soft, emotional, and built on trust and great communication, which honestly made this book stand out even more. These characters are emotionally mature, open, and understanding, and it was so refreshing to read.

This is a heartfelt story about grief, social anxiety, healing, and finding the courage to live again after loss. For a debut, this was seriously impressive. It’s the first book in the Blue Collar Boys series, and I’m already excited to see where Sara Miller takes us next. 💙

romantic book with an emotional rollercoaster is what this one is! It is one of my best reads this year! Y'all need to check this one out!

Rating 5/5........ Spice 🌶🌶🌶

"Until then" by Sarah Miller explores feelings like grief, trust, friendships, personal growth and of course, love. The writing style will have you crying with Greer during the start and then falling with her for Luke. The author's character development is incredibly commendable. Greer's journey and her tender bond with Luke made me reminisce as to why romance is one of my genre's in the first place. The way the characters understand each other and be for each other even in the dullest moments plus the spice had me swooning over them!

This book will make you laugh and cry at the same time! And the also.....usually romance books, around 80% completion create some kind of situationship or problems due to which the mcs are conflicted and in the end there is a realisation that they love each other and then one goes to another and they find their hea. What I did lobe about this book is that there was no such thing. Luke and Greer's bond was pure love. Nothing else can explain it. So overall, this uplifting read is perfect for small town readers! It needs to be discovered! Also can't wait for Hunter's and Sutton's book!

This book hurts in the best way. It was such a beautiful, emotional story about grief, healing, and giving yourself permission to love again. Greer is a widow after a devastating accident, and the way her grief and anxiety were written felt so real and raw. I really felt everything with her.

Luke is a HOT 🥵 firefighter neighbor, professional helper, certified people pleaser. He is patient, kind, and flirty. I loved how gentle he was with Greer, never rushing her, just showing up and letting her take the lead. Their communication?? Chef’s kiss tbh. Emotionally mature characters who actually talk things through is my weakness!!

The found family aspect in this is amazing. Sutton, Navy, Hunter.. basically the whole group was everything and more. The girl gang especially had my whole heart. They knew exactly when to push Greer and when to just sit with her, and it was so comforting to read.

This isn’t your typical second chance romance, this a woman giving herself a second chance after loss, and that made it hit even harder. I laughed, I teared up, and I finished this feeling very emotionally satisfied.

I just saw this is thw author’s first novel so this was such an impressive debut and I am already seated for the rest of this series!

ARC review! Thank you NetGalley and Torn Pages Books for this arc copy.

Until Then by Sara Miller is a book about grief, loss, heartbreak, and navigating all three as you try to take a step forward. It follows the lives of Greer, a young widow who watched her husband die in a car accident, and Luke, her new neighbor who quickly works his way into her heart.

This book is okay—the idea of the plot pulled me in, the friendships kept me reading (so sweet 🥹), but the romance felt off to me. Miller says countless times in her book that there is no timeline for grief (so true), and Greer is the only one who can dictate how she works through her grief and begins to step forward (also true). BUT I was expecting an emotional read and didn’t get that, so maybe that’s on me! I just think she could’ve done more and gone deeper, here.
Overall, it’s cute and very hallmarky! I recommend if you’re in the mood for a feel-good, easy story!

Read if you like:
* female friendships
*small town romance

It has Elsie Silver vibes with less general grunting by the MMC 😂

Ok, but not me crying on the airplane finishing this book! What the heck 🥹This was a very emotional story about our FMC Greer and our MMC Luke. Greer has been through a terrible accident in which she lost her husband and is trying to figure out how to move forward. She meets Luke and his group of friends and is immediately pulled into their family.
G was so strong and written in a way that felt believable in her grief. The way that she struggled and overcame her grief was, I feel, really reflective of true life. Luke was so kind and patient with her and also had some growing he had to do. As a people pleaser he was always showing up for everyone else, but never for himself. I really love the found family that that group provided for Greer and just the general support system that she had was really beautiful. I’m so excited to read Sutton and Hunter’s story and that little teaser at the end makes me even more rabid for it. Overall, this is a really good book and I will definitely be reading the second one. Thanks for the author for the ARC copy.

In my bookish journey, I’ve come to realize how much I love reading an author’s debut novel and now this author is stuck with me. We’re locked in, girlie pop!

Greer and Luke’s story was packed with emotion and past trauma that they were both still healing from, but it was also a masterclass in patience, understanding, and especially in Luke’s case setting in regards to setting and sticking to boundaries.

Greer… omg, Greer. My heart broke for her. Watching her navigate grief and take those tentative steps forward was incredibly rewarding. This was a slowwwww burn, but Luke’s patience and compassion made it worth every second. I especially loved how he supported Greer’s need for independence, even when taking a step back was clearly difficult for him.

This book also gave us a whole crew of side characters, and I loved how tight-knit they all are. They do not play when it comes to protecting each other!

Lastly, I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for Hunter and Sutton’s book. They’re coming in hot…literally. (Too soon? My bad. 😂)

I am beyond proud of my friend Sara for publishing her debut novel, Until Then! This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster—one moment I was tearing up, and the next, I was laughing out loud. Sara has such a talent for weaving deep emotions with heartwarming, feel-good moments, and I know this is just the beginning of an amazing series.

The story features some of my favorite tropes: love after loss, neighbors to lovers, slow burn, dual POV, and found family. Luke, the MMC, is an absolute golden retriever—sweet, loyal, and impossible not to love. Watching his and the FMC’s relationship unfold was so satisfying, and the slow-burn romance made it all the more rewarding.

And that ending? Perfection! It sets up the next book so well, and I cannot wait to see where this series goes. If you love emotional, heartfelt romance with a dash of humor and a strong sense of community, you need to pick this one up!

For a debut book, and in a genre I don’t usually read, I was expecting Until Then to be like your typical hallmark movie. But then I started reading… this book has all the feels you expect of a small town romance, with the deeper twist of the cruel fate of Death.

You want Greer to get through all her troubles, you hope for her and Luke to work through everything and be the best thing they need for each other.

The communication between all is written amazingly! The plot moves smoothly, and you don’t get lost at all. Most of the characters are well fleshed out and the story is believable. You can fully get behind the protagonists and are rooting for them in a way you really need in a good book. I NEED the next book to come soon please!! I need to know more about these characters and the journey they’re on!

Until Then was an amazing book! I have to say that it took me a minute to finish this book because of the intense emotions, but it was still amazing! I laughed and had a few tears happy and sad tears. This book deals with grief and how Greer, our main character, is able to move on after the death of her husband. We are able to see how shes managing her life, how she falls in love but still hesitates because of what everything means. She scared to move on because what if she forgets him.

Luke🥰 amazing, caring, loving and patient Luke❤️. I absolutely LOVED their friendship and their love story. I loved how patient he was, how he was ther for her in every way. I loved the friendships she made as it showed her they really cared for her.

No timeline, remember.

This book deals with grief, how to move on, how people react, second chance at love, found family, and more.

After losing her husband in a tragic car accident, Greer is eight months into grieving and searching for a fresh start. A new neighborhood seems like just the change she needs—and it brings with it Luke, the kind of neighbor anyone would be lucky to have. I loved watching Greer slowly begin to open up, not just to Luke but to the circle of friends he introduces her to.

Luke was patient, respectful, and so swoon-worthy when the timing was right. Their slow-burn connection felt authentic and well-earned. Greer’s emotional journey was handled with care, and while the book deals with loss, it still manages to feel hopeful and warm.

A sweet, heartfelt story about healing, new beginnings, and unexpected love.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sara Miller for the advanced copy! I’m happy to leave this review voluntarily.

Greer has a great life, a happy marriage and a career she loves. Until a tragic accident takes it away. Greer shuts herself off from life and is struggling. She buys a new house with the help of Sutton, a realtor who she knows from school. When she meets her new next door neighbor Luke and his friends, (including Sutton his sister who has befriended Greer) she starts to open up a bit. The friends are true and loyal. They are there for Greer as she tries to go forward. Luke and Greer develop a close relationship and become a couple. This is a very emotional, well written book about grief, friends and moving forward. I highly recommend this debut book. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley and this is my honest review.

If you're looking for a love story that shows you what true friends and what true love is, read this book. If you're looking for relatable characters with sass sprinkled in, read this book. If you've lost your someone and don't know how you'll ever move forward, read this book and have hope and faith that when you're ready, you'll get there. Because you're the only one who can tell you it's time.

I knew this book was going to pull on the heartstrings dealing with loss and growing past it. What I wasn't expecting was the happy tears shed throughout the 3 days I binge read it.

The spice was well placed and not over done. The love between the characters was heartfelt and genuine. The storyline honest.

Emotional Read!

While I'm not usually a romance reader, I am a big fan of reading debut authors and/or independent authors so I added this book to my TBR based on this and not knowing anything about it (I didn't read the blurb). As a person who lost their partner a few months before the wedding, the way Greer's grief was written in this book was very resonating for me even though it was different in ways. The book does have some scenes that I had to skip past as I'm not a spice reader but if that doesn't bother you, I'd recommend! Such a well written book and so emotional for me! I really enjoyed the storytelling and the setting. Looking forward to the next book in the series and to hear about Hunter and Sutton's story!

5 ⭐️ Read- I enjoyed this debut novel from cover to cover! I found it very easy to fall in love with our main characters Greer + Luke. It’s not something I thought I’d find myself doing- rooting for someone to find love so quickly after experiencing the loss of their husband, but this love story is pure, its enduring, its healing and it’s inspiring. I found myself also falling for all the core characters of this friend group, and I can’t wait to read the next novel in the BCB series to find out more about this friend group and their individual stories (and love stories). Came for the love story, stayed for the much more than that!

I fell in love with this story almost instantly. Greece’s journey from loss to finding love again was beautiful. Greer is such a relatable heroine. She struggles with her self-image, she is learning to cope with her own emotions. She’s learning hope to make friends & building relationships with a whole new circle of friends. Luke is a great balance for her. He’s patient and supportive. He doesn’t get jealous or upset about Greer’s relationship with Brian. Sutton & Navy and Luke’s boys become Greer’s new family and I can’t wait for more stories from them!

Until Then is a story that tackles real life experiences - like grief, social anxiety, and the challenge of opening yourself up to love again - in a very genuine way. The heavy topics are broken up by quirky dialog with a group of friends that become like family. I get so excited when I read a story and the characters are portrayed in a way that I cannot wait to experience all of their happy endings as well! This was an amazing first novel!! Can’t wait to go back to Suncrest Valley!

This romance deals with navigating grief in a new relationship, asking how soon is too soon to move on. It is a delicate situation and I felt like this book handled it respectfully. I was a little frustrated with the push to get Greer back in the dating scene by her loved ones as I don't believe that being in the relationship is the only way to be happy. However, I liked how Luke worked to make sure her deceased husband was not forgotten.
