কোহিনূর
কোহিনূর হচ্ছে মহা মূল্যবান এক পাথর। যার
পেছনে রয়েছে শয়তানের শক্তি । মানুষ যখন বিপদে
পড়ে, তখন এই শয়তান তাকে প্ররোচিত করে।
বলে, “এই পাথরের সামনে যা ইচ্ছা চেয়ে নিতে।
কিন্তু পরবর্তীকালে নিজের মূল্যবান সম্পদ হারাতে
হবে।”
এভাবেই চলতে থাকে যুগের পর যুগ। হঠাৎ এই
পাথরের শক্তি ক্ষয়প্রাপ্ত হয়। তখন শয়তান
উন্মাদগ্রস্ত হয়ে পড়ে পাথরের শক্তি ফিরিয়ে আনার
জন্য। উপায়ন্তর হিসেবে অধরার পেটে বেড়ে ওঠা
শিশুটি সকলের নজরে আসে। ‘সুলতান ভিলা'তে
‘কালো-জাদু'র চর্চা হয়। কম বয়সের মেয়েদের
শয়তানের নামে উৎসর্গ করা হয়। এর পেছনে কে
থাকে, সেটা রহস্য। অধরার সবাইকে সন্দেহ হয় -
বিশেষ করে সন্দেহ হয় জুবায়েরের জমজ ভাই
সুলতান জামশেদ ফারুকীকে।
কোহিনূর পাওয়ার জন্য একটার পর একটা পাপ
কাজে জড়িয়ে পড়ে সুলতান পরিবার। কেউ জানে
না কোহিনূরের শক্তি নিয়ে জন্মানো শিশু আদতে
মানব শিশুর মতো সাধারণ হবে নাকি অন্য কোনো
শক্তি নিয়ে ওর জন্ম হবে।

যেসব গল্প ফেসবুক থেকে বই আকারে প্রকাশ প্রায় সেগুলোকে বেশিরভাগ সময় মানুষ অখাদ্যের কাতারে ফেলে দেয়। আমি আবার কখনো সেভাবে জাজ করতে যাইনা। বোধহয় এজন্য আমার কপালে যত অখাদ্য পড়ে, তবে বোধ হয় এই প্রথম একটা
বইকে অখাদ্য বলতে খারাপ লাগছে। সত্যি কথা বলতে ফেসবুকে সচরাচর যেরকম নড়বড়ে গল্প দেখা যায়, কোহিনূর সেই তুলনায় একটু ভিন্নই । তবে লেখিকার লেখার হাত অত্যন্ত কাঁচা ( বলতে খারাপ লাগছে তবুও...), ওনার লেখা এখনো এমন পর্যায়ে যে, সেই লেখনী ফেসবুকে চললেও বইয়ের পৃষ্ঠায় মানায় না। এই একই গল্প উনি যদি আরও একটু সময় নিয়ে যত্ন করে লিখতেন, তাহলে পাঠক-পাঠিকাদের ভালো একটা থ্রিলার উপহার দিতে পারতেন। কিছু কিছু ডায়লগ তো এতটাই ক্রিঞ্জ ছিল বই বন্ধ করে বসে থাকতে হয়েছে। আর তাছাড়া এরকম গল্পের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একটা বিষয় ক্যারেক্টার ডেভেলপমেন্ট।কিন্তু পুরো গল্পে অধরা জুবায়েরের অপ্রয়োজনীয় বকবক ছাড়া তেমন কিছুই পাওয়া যাবে না। মূল চরিত্র দুটো ছাড়া অন্য চরিত্রগুলো
এত সাদামাটা কখন যে ভুলে যাবেন বুঝবেন না। কোহিনূরের রহস্যও এলোমেলো বাক্যে ঘোলাটে হয়ে গেছে। তাছাড়া জুবায়ের এবং জুহির বোনের বিষয়টারও লজিক নেই। যেই জুহিকে ঘিরে জুবায়ের এতো নাটক করলো সেই জুহির বোন জুহি সেজে আসলো আর সে নিজের গার্লফ্রেন্ডকেও চিনতে পারলো না? আবার সুলতান বংশে অভিশাপ আছে মানলাম, তাই বলে জুহিও যমজ কেন? আর গার্লফেন্ডের বোন আছে বয়ফ্রেন্ড জানে না?
এই গল্পের নাকি দ্বিতীয় খন্ড আছে। গুডরিডস এ আসলে সেটা কোনো একদিন রিভিউ করবো।

লেখিকার প্রথম বই হিসেবে মোটামুটি ছিল। তবে আরেকটু গোছানো হতে পারত।

Well as it was the author’s first book I also didn’t really have that much expectation. The things I didn’t like about the book are :
1.The storytelling could have been more organized. It was more disheveled and the writing was really unskilled. It was hard to keep track on what’s happening and focusing on the story. The dialogue was also reallyyyyy cringe. Like man what the…
2.The character writing was really poor. Both অধরা and জুবায়ের characters could have been written so much better. The other characters were pretty much bland. And please stop making other characters stupid or weird just to portray অধরা as some great tragic heroine. I hope the author pays more attention on character writing from now on.
3. And the environment writing was incomplete. I mean hey if all of this is happening in Germany there should have been more details about the town or city they are living or maybe German people, their tradition, culture, surroundings or even how they actually live there or how is it like to live there as a expatriate. The characters were more likely of a middle class banglali family than expatriates who have been living in Germany for years. Like I mean they can’t be like typical Bangladeshis okay? That’s not how things work. I hope the author focus on more environment writing as well.
4. And the relationship between অধরা and জুবায়ের could have been written much profusely . I mean come on man they are husband and wife for God’s sake! The chemistry and character development between them was written really….what I can say childishly. It could have been much more mature and wholesome if the author gave more attention to it. And please if you’re gonna add romance in your book do it properly and more naturally. And please the character development and their relations need more attention.
5. Last but not least the way the author ended the book was really bad. Or worse. I mean if you’re gonna unfold the mystery in just a single page then what was the point of extending the story so long! And not only that many things also doesn’t make sense in the end. I would suggest rather unraveling everything just in a page it would have been more better if you solved it one by one as the story progressed. That way it will be more interesting to read.
Well after bad comes good. So there were also things that I liked about the story okay? I will give a brief summary of that as well:
1. The plot and story weren’t bad . It would have been much better if not for the way the storyline went.
2. The only character I genuinely liked and enjoyed to read was only জামশেদ । like I mean man he was so much of a better option for অধরা than জুবায়ের । I will enjoy the story more if অধরা just ends up with জামশেদ. He deserves better though. Anyway অধরা isn’t good enough for him .
I hope the author does better in her future books. Sending best wishes for you.

চমকপ্রদ প্লট ছিল—কোহিনূর, শয়তানের শক্তি, কালো জাদু, এবং এক রহস্যময় শিশুর গল্প—কিন্তু লেখনী ততটা টানতে পারেনি। পড়ার সময় বারবার মনোযোগ ছিন্ন হয়ে যাচ্ছিল। চরিত্রগুলোর ভেতর গভীরতা ছিল না, আর লেখার ভঙ্গিটাও একটু দুর্বল লেগেছে। সাসপেন্স তৈরি হলেও, তা ধরে রাখতে পারেনি।
