This book was a little different from the previous ones.
I didn’t feel all warm and fuzzy, it was a bit sad.
It’s still a good addition to the series.

Book 5 of the Dragonfly Cove Series Leo has just moved to beautiful Dragonfly Cove to help her sister, Vrai, with her local bookstore. They decide to adopt 2 pups from the same litter, naming them Loyal and True. Before the pups are available, the unthinkable happens, Vrai is tragically killed. Leo’s grief is overpowering and she feels overwhelmed by the decisions she needs to make. Oh my…this really tugs at the heartstrings and hit close to home for me. Everyone handles grief in their own way and your heart will break for Leo as she navigates her new normal. Realistic emotions and situation. Another book filled with wonderful characters. Each book in the series highlights this sweet, dog friendly town. All characters meet briefly when they pick up their pups, all from the same litter. Each book highlights a different owner with their pup, and shows how animals can heal. Also shows how an ethical breeder handles things. I received an ARC of this book. This is my honest opinion.

This is a heartwarming story of healing and new beginnings. Leola, who goes by Leo, moves to Dragon Fly Cove to take over the management of her own bookshop. Originally, Leo had planned to run the bookshop as a joint endeavor with her sister, Vrai, but after Vrai's unexpected death, Leo decided to honor their shared dream on her own.
Before their tragic loss, both sisters had agreed to adopt a new Labrador puppy together. Now that the puppies are ready to move to their new homes, Leo made the decision to take both of them and name them Loyal and True, reflecting the meanings of the sisters' names.
Prior to Vrai's death, Leo led a pretty active life that included yoga. After moving to Dragon Fly Cove, she took some time off to close the bookshop and bond with her two new pups. When she finally reopened the bookshop, Zane, the owner of a local yoga studio, walked in one day. Over time, they became friends, and Leo even began practicing yoga again.
Through Zane, Leo met ten-year-old Lee, who lived with his grandmother. Lee had few friends but loved to read, and he soon began to regularly hang out at the bookshop and even helped Leo with various tasks. As time went on and Leo continued to reach out to others, it became clear that her heart was healing as well.
Leo also connected with the pet owners of several of Loyal and True’s siblings, and they all became friends. This story beautifully captures themes of restoration and second chances, with a touch of romance woven in.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, and all comments and opinions are my own.

Leo moved to Florida to help out her sister open her book store and they were going to do everything together. Even get puppies , but when her sister dies Leo's world ended and she just couldn't even think of what to do and if she should even get the puppies that they wanted . As Leo works her way through her mourning with the puppies that just are too sweet and put a smile on everyone's face and the help of her new friends that come into her life . She will get the second chance she wants and the friendship and romance that she needs to carry on.
Leo has been through so much she is utterly heartbroken with the death of her sister . She is trying so hard not to let the grief overwhelm her . When the puppies come into the picture you see Leo starting to pull through the grieving enough to find some new friends and a romance with Zane. Lee is a regular and he and his grandma are going through their own problems and Leo is there to help them out . Each of these characters are amazing and so well written and I love Zane and Leo together , they are both gentle souls that found each other and realize that they both need each other .
This is a little bit more of a sadder story, the characters are all working through their problems and the author has them grieving some sort of loss. But at the same time you do get a good chuckle with Leo conversing with her dead sister and Vrai pushing her to do things with the puppies . This story had a few tears falling from my eyes and lots of giggles . Such a good series of books .

Loyal and True

Leo picks up her two puppies Loyal and True. One was supposed to be her sister’s, which is no longer with her because she passed away.
This was supposed to be an adventure that they were supposed to share, managing a store together, with their beloved pups.

Grief has a way of getting ahold of a person, but as the heart heals, good things takes it’s place. Remembrance is bitter sweet, but time and good friendships along with Puppy cuddles and kisses, times 2, make it impossible to be sad forever. This book speaks to my heart .
I love everything she writes.
She brings Characters to life, and I believe she puts heart and soul into every single one of her books.
Her Characters are Zany and unexpected, always in a fun way.
I love how Leo hears her sister’s voice in her head for a while, encouraging her to move on with friendships and situations.
Ev Bishop ( the Author), knows how to think outside the box. This book is a delight! I knew it would be, since I’ve not read anything Ev has ever written, that hasn’t been.
“ Spoiler Alert “! This is a must read
Book! You will love the Characters and this book has Soul!
Leo meets someone that totally gets her, in so many ways! And that’s all I’m revealing!

A Romance and 2 dogs. Friendships that are true and real, and enlightening. A must read! I highly recommend it! Have a glass of wine, cover up with a favorite blanket and snuggle into a cozy read!

This book is part of a series linked by puppies from the same litter and the people who adopted and love them. The characters are loosely connected as they live in the same small Florida town, but you don't need to read the books in order. You don't even need to read all of them, but if you enjoy books about puppies/dogs, and enjoy an easy to read book, you may want to start at the beginning and read them all. Each human is overcoming life issues and the dogs enhance their lives.

Leo has moved from Seattle to Florida to join her sister, planning to run her sister's book shop together. They had decided to adopt siblings from a litter, but Leo's sister has died in an accident before the litter was born. Leo reluctantly decides to take both puppies, already having been paid for.

Puppies are joyful and distracting and before long, they have Leo slowly starting to work through her grief and to get back to work at the book shop. As customers find their way back to the shop, Leo starts to make relationships with them, some even become friendships. With every day that passes, and each human encounter, Leo begins to dig her way out of her deep, all encompassing grief. She learns that other people have also experienced traumatic loss and learns how they cope.

This is a great story about puppy devotion, friendship and love.

Crushing Grief Helped By Puppy Love. While the previous two books in this series - Hearts Unleashed and Back In The Pack - both dealt with grief, this is the first book that *really* makes you *feel* its power. Here, our main character starts out just a short period of time after tragically losing her much more vibrant sister... and now has to figure out how to achieve the dreams they were supposed to achieve together, alone.

Enter the power of Puppy Love.

When Leo maintains her commitment to pick up both of the dogs she and her sister were supposed to get from local dog breeder Leslie, suddenly she *has* to get out of bed - puppies aren't so great about feeding themselves, and if you leave them cooped up in your bedroom with you... it is going to get very messy and stinky very rapidly.

Thus, just going through the motions of keeping her dogs fed and walked gets Leo moving more than she'd have liked... and begins her healing process.

Along the way Leo encounters more people in the community and with more interaction comes more healing... in its own time and manner.

Ultimately this is one of the more gray books of the series, but very powerful in its own right - particularly for those who are also experiencing such crushing grief. And hey, that's the power of puppies, right there. ;)

Very much recommended.

Each of the books in the Dragonfly Cove series tells the story of one of the characters whose life is changed when they adopt a pup from a special litter of nine Labrador retrievers. From puppy training to obedience class and outings to the local dog-friendly establishments, there are blessings and challenges along the way. One thing is sure – they will never be quite the same.

Leola (Leo) Tremblay and her sister, Vrai, have shared a dream of running a bookstore together for a long time. Vrai has made a success of her quaint, dog-friendly store, Beach Reads, in Dragonfly Cove. Leo is ready to join her, and they’ve even made plans to get two puppies from the same litter.

This dream-come-true screeches to a halt when Vrai dies. Leo has closed the bookstore “indefinitely.” She wants to honor that plans she and Vrai made but isn’t sure she can face opening the store again. Now it’s puppy pick up day and Leo decides that she owes it to her beloved sister to follow through on at least this part of their plan. She arrives at the dog-breeder’s and walks away with two beautiful Labrador retriever pups whom she names Loyal and True.

This is a touching story of love and loss, the healing power of connection, and finding the courage to begin again.

Loyal and True by Ev Bishop is the fifth book in the Dragonfly Cove Dog Park series. In this heartfelt story, we meet Leola (Leo) and her sister Vrai, who have plans to run Vrai’s already established dog-friendly bookstore, Beach Reads, in Dragonfly Cove. Leo decides to leave Seattle and move to Dragonfly Cove to join Vrai in this new venture. The sisters visit Leslie and decide to adopt puppies together. However, tragedy strikes when Vrai dies unexpectedly in an accident, leaving Leo devastated and unsure of how to move forward. Overwhelmed by grief, Leo closes the bookstore, feeling she can't continue without her sister. But when the day comes to pick up the puppies, Leo makes the decision to honor Vrai's memory by taking both puppies. She names them Loyal and True, embodying the deep bond she shared with her sister. With the help of her new puppies and the support of her friends, Leo begins to heal, learning to find the courage to live again. This book is a touching journey of love, loss, and rediscovery, showing that even in the face of heartbreak, there is always a path forward.

Bookstore owner, Leo, grieving the unexpected death of her sister. is particularly apprehensive at collecting not one, but two Labrador puppies from the breeder. Leo realises that, if she didn’t have Loyal and True to care for, she would have stagnated and eventually have lost the heritage her sister left as well!
Leo is initially stuck in her grief journey but, via the popularity of her bookstore, especially with the added attraction of Loyal and True, and with the help of yoga instructor, Zane, she finally manages to release her deep-seated sorrow.
Although the puppies undoubtedly played an important part in Leo’s healing, I observed that, in contrast with previous ARC books in this series, this author focused more on the main character’s human interactions than on her connection with her dogs.

Following through on her commitments to run Beach Reads and adopt Labrador puppies isn’t going so well for Leo after the death of her sister, Vrai. Her grief is just too much to handle. They were supposed to run the bookstore together and one of the two puppies she adopted was supposed to hers and the other one was going to be Vrai’s. With the help of the puppies, Loyal and True, she finally sets her mind to doing both. Along the way, she makes some new friends, sees the bookstore flourish, tries new things, and finds herself truly enjoying her new life.

A story of loss, grief, healing, new beginnings, and more! A great addition to the Dragonfly Cove series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The fifth book in the Dragonfly Cove Dog Park series is Loyal & True by Ev Bishop. This book has two puppies from the litter going to Leo Tremblay. Her sister and her had both decided to adopt a a yellow lab puppy. Tragedy happens but Leo goes through the adoption taking both. This is a heartbreaking story where the puppies do save Leo from completely giving up on life. Having to take care of them gets her moving again. Such a beautiful story of grieving, recovery, wonderful memories, new friends and love. It did seem unusual that the author gave herself a shoutout in this story but Leo does own a bookstore.

Perhaps it is best to read in order. Be sure to purchase the first book, Pick of the Litter, which is an overview of the entire series. Right now, it is free.

Filled with emotion and cute dogs

Leo is in Dragonfly Cove to work with her sister Vrai in the bookstore Vrai had started. When her sister dies suddenly, Leo decides to continue with the adoption of 2 yellow lab puppies Loyal and True even without her sister to help. Then yoga owner Zane comes by, and asks if he can bring over Lee, a precocious boy who loved reading. Zane is nice but overly cheerful, but he keeps coming around. Can Leo get over the loss of her sister and keep the bookstore going? Will Zane help or hinder that?

The pace is fast and the tone is hopeful with a character centered storyline that has a few kisses. The characters are vivid and endearing. The dogs are sweet. You get to revisit with characters from previous books too. Read this series in order.

“People rush to get rid of grief because that see it as hanging onto loss. But grief is really hanging onto love, which is why you always feel it.”

I am sitting here trying to put my thoughts into words. This was a heartwarming story that pulled me in from the beginning until the very last page. Grief is something I have been going through for almost two months. This story was so realistic, emotions so real.
New beginnings, compassion, laughter, unconditional love. Puppies may bring total chaos to our lives but they also give so much and bring happiness as well.

I received an ARC prior to publication and decided to voluntarily review it.

Ev Bishop continues the Dragonfly Cove series with book 5. Loyal and True are the names of Leo’s two lab puppies. She decides to still adopt the two even though it was supposed to be her sister, Vrai and her that was going to share the puppies after her sister dies in an accident. Leo has moved from Seattle to help her sister run Beach Reads, the bookstore the sisters had dreamed about running together. She takes over running the bookstore and meets Zane Gray who owns the yoga studio. Zane then introduces her to a young man, Lee, who ends up helping in the bookstore. Leo learns how to deal with the grief of losing her sister with the help of her new friends and of course, Loyal and True.

This was my first time reading a book by Ev Bishop and I truly enjoyed it. This story in the Dragonfly Cove Dog Park series centers on Leo, a single woman who just lost her sister in an accident. Leo must work through her grief with the help of her Teo newly adopted pups, Loyal and True. It takes everything she has to come out the other side and realize it's ok to move on and live your life even after such a devastating loss. This story is moving, inspiring and sweet. The relationships Leo develops with her neighbors and customers, along with the love and devotion of Loyal and True will help anyone see that you can still find joy while grieving the loss of a loved one.

I'd give this book 100 stars if I could! This was the first time I've read an Ev Bishop book, and I immediately went and signed up for her newsletter and purchased another one of her novels.

Bishop doesn't sugarcoat the depiction of grief. As the FMC, Leo, transverses through its painful stages, the reader is taken along the journey from despair to healing to hope. Along the way, there are tears, laughs, new friends, love, and, of course, two adorable pups. The bookstore setting was icing on the cake for me.

Although this can be read as a standalone, you'll find yourself anxious to dive into the next story and hear more about the characters and town in this heartwarming series.

This book in this fun series focused on Leo who had recently lost her sister, Vrai.  They had both wanted to adopt one of Leslie's puppies so Leo decided she would adopt two of the retrievers.  She named them Loyal and True after her name and her sister's name.
I liked how the puppies helped Leo with her grief and how she made them a special place at the Beach Reads bookshop which her sister had owned.  The puppies also brought special friendships into Leo's life.  She learned you never know what someone else might be dealing with in life.  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Leo is mourning the tragic loss of her sister Vrai. The sisters planned to adopt puppies together and run the bookstore. Leo is struggling to uphold the promises to her sister. The puppies Loyal and True, named after the sisters, make the days a little less painful. Handsome yoga owner Zane, makes himself at home at the bookstore and brings his young friend Lee.

Leo becomes acquainted with fellow puppy owners Maddie and Libby. Vrai’s words of advice and wisdom echo in Leo’s head as she goes about the business of trying to make the bookstore a success.

Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.

The two blond lab puppies that Leo, short for Leola, and her sister Vrai, who dies in an auto accident, were adopting provide humor and tenderness in this heart warming novel. It's the fifth book in the Dragonfly Cove Dog Park series, but it can be read as a stand-alone novel. I bought the entire series and am enjoying reading each of the adorable books about the puppies adopted from Leslie's litter of nine puppies and their owners. Characters from the previous books have parts in this one with two new ones--Zane and Lee-- who become Leo's new friends and add compassion, joy, and sweetness to her life as she grieves the death of her sister and learns to move forward with her life.

Each Book in this series is absolutely perfect.
Heart ❤️ strings will be pulled.

Leo,
The loss of a sister is so hard, but life must go on. A Bookshop to run puppy's to get. So much much happens.

A quote in this story that i simply loved.
It's ok to feel grief- when losing someone.
I personally I understand. I lost my sister not that long ago.

This is a perfect story. With a perfect ending.

Two puppy one owner what a sweet story.
But with dogs in your life every thing is always sweeter 🐾🐾

Leola moves to Dragonfly Cove to help her sister Vrai run the local bookstore. The two even plan to adopt puppies from Leslie Burns' latest batch of yellow labs together. The unexpected happens and Vrai dies unexpectedly. Leo has to figure out how to go on without her sister and best friend when she doesn't even want to get out of bed in the morning. She has to decide what to do about the puppy that she opted to adopt, but also, what to do about the one that Vrai had reserved. Two puppies might just be Leo's undoing, or they might be just what she needs to move forward.

This was a great story that meshed perfectly with the entire series. Wonderful characters, wonderful location and of course - there are the dogs. The characters crossed over not just from story to story within the series but from other stories the authors have written. A fantastic writing concept! I was fortunate to have been given the opportunity to be an advanced reader which enabled me to read them all right away and I’m sure once you read the first one, you’ll want to keep right on reading. Enjoy!!

Sweet addition to the Dragonfly Cove Dog Park series this one by Ev Bishop.
Leo and her late sister, Vrai, had so many plans that seem too difficult to accomplish now. One was running the bookstore together, the other was getting two puppies.
She meets Lee, a ten year old boy, who is an old soul. He lives with his grandmother while his mom is in rehab again.
She asks him to help her with the pups and together they slowly start to find happiness again.

Then tragedy strikes when her sister is killed. Now it is up to her to try to keep the book store open as she grieves for the dreams that her and her sister had. They had decided to get two lab puppies, Leo plans to honor her sister's wishes, by getting both Loyal and True. Will having the puppies help her to learn to live with her grief and keep the store open?

Lost!

Loyal and True: WOW! Leo just wanted to sleep because she feels so lost with out her sister. Her alarm kept going off and she couldn't understand then it dawn on her it was time pick the puppies. She really didn't want to but she knew Vali would want to keep it all going without her. She got Leslie's house and their were several people there to pick their puppies. It was a wonderful but emotional story! Leo didn't realize but there were a lot of people that cared.

Loyal and True is the fifth book in the wonderful Dragonfly Cove Dog Park series. It is a stand-alone read with no cliffhanger.
This is the story of Labrador puppies Loyal and True and their new human Leo who is grieving the loss of her sister. It is beautifully and sensitively written and will tug at your heartstrings. Each book the series features a different puppy from the same litter and these little bundles of fur and the people they chose as their people gradually help Leo move forward and embrace being a puppy mum.
I loved this book and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Another puppy matchup!

Leo joins her sister in Dragonfly Cove to help run the bookstore, but Kai dies in a tragic accident, so Leo is trying to cope, as the book opens, Leo is picking up 2 Labrador puppies because the were reserved for the two sisters. Named Loyal and True which is what the sister’s names mean. Enter Zane, yoga master. Long story short; they both are grieving a sibling loss and both have bad relationships in their past. It takes most of the book to find them together at last. An interesting look at dealing with grief. Puppies to the rescue again!
