Firstborn is a nod to oddities; comprising of tales culminating from the wreckage of colliding memories, some deeply remembered and some deeply forgotten. They consist of deftly picked stories of strange dreams, those that jolt you awake at three in the morning, breathless. Dreams that you find yourself forgetting in the morning, before they reappear to you a few years later under the disguise of Dejavu. They are stories with forgotten names, streets and people as they were recounted from memories once fractured and possibly, altered. In between, there will be depictions of old and newborn Gods and their miraculous life stories; and somewhere towards the end are curious affairs of a distant universe, and how they are no different than ours.
Absolutely brilliant selection of short stories. I loved the author's style of writing and the creativity behind his storytelling. I sincerely hope that he continues writing more of these. Can't believe that I just so happened to know of this book because of a random social media post.
