Until they did.

They stormed his home and stole the one person who mattered most—his woman, his obsession, the love of his life. And he didn’t realize it until she was already gone.

Now, he’ll tear the world apart to get her back. No price is too high. No line is too sacred.

But rescuing her is just the beginning. The real battle starts when he brings her home—because some wounds don’t heal with time, and some betrayals aren’t easily forgiven.

He lost her once. Will he lose her forever?

I'll be honest I loved the first half of this book. Everything was going great the angst and relationship drama between Max and Sophia when his girl was rescued and dealing with the fall out. We had the push away the blaming between both characters. Sophia pushing away Max and dealing with her truama as Max deals with who betrayed them and tried to handle everything. My poor babies were fighting a lot in the first half of this book.

Then it kinda got repetitive near the middle. I did wanna shake Sophia with her back and forth, and all Max was doing for her, and then I wanted to shake both of them when pieces of the attack started falling into place. Suspect after Suspect.. and they sorta forgave those ppls because they were blackmailed or weren't the true bad guys.
Which made me sad that they got off scott free... And the ending to me was a cliffhanger on who this rival was, who was this gang that did this. And now that Max is "retired" and staying in the shadows as Andrie takes over. We have the end of their story. They deserve their hea, but idk of felt not right in my eyes.
Now book 3 is about Luca and his woman. And maybe we'll get more questions on who this rival gang is. I kinda wish it was Andrei and Elena book next. If they are even getting a book. Since she betrayed the family and they have a child together so much drama in their relationship.

Low angst, no ow drama/tiny om drama, no cheating, secondary characters, drama, sexy times, no virgins

SPOILER REVIEW

I don’t usually write reviews but I am so disappointed with the second half of this book that I must warn anyone wanting to read it and thinking that they will get a good conclusion to the main plot of the story—spoiler alert you don’t.

The first half of the book seems like it’s well thought out in terms of how the trauma of the FMC is handled. It’s real. However, the FMC goes thru so much alongside the MMC and I’m thinking okay the person behind the kidnapping will be revealed. BIG FAT NOPE. all we know is about this syndicate and then the people involved in blackmailing and messing with the FMC and MMC are just forgiven because they were under duress. You’re expecting me to believe that this dude who’s been unaliving and torturing people for a solid book and a half is just gonna let it go even if they are family by blood or marriage???? Be so for real. Same for the FMC—she just what, lets it go and all is forgiven with her sister and mother. No resolution with the mother either. So the FMC goes through this horrible ordeal and the people behind it are not revealed and dealt with? I get wanting to continue this overall plot line of the syndicate but a resolution was needed for this ordeal we as readers were put thru— let’s not forget the first book’s cliffhanger.

AND THEN the big ass cliffhanger from book one of Luca saying into the phone to MMC that if he can’t have her, no one else will but then he’s happily married with a child in the second book and is the one to rescue her from the kidnappers and ends up becoming part of the inner circle???? This is never addressed. WTF IS THIS. PLOT HOLES EVERYWHERE. Only reason this book gets 2 stars is because of the first half of the book. There’s so much more I can add here but I would be writing a novel.

Plot: 2/5 • Smut: 2.5/5 ————-> When I read Primal there was so much love and admiration. I LOVED Primal. After reading this one?…. I feel so let down. This was just a bunch of running around and sooooooo many apologies. Back and forth with the apologies. Let’s break up, let’s stay together. It was exhausting. It pulled from the entire plot, bc it became the plot. And don’t get me started on the third act break up. I really wanted more.

This book is the exact recommendation for everyone, you never read an incomplete saga, not only couldn't understand why I loved book one but this book was weird as hell, I skipped and skimmed so much that, be aware, spoiler, half sister? Ew

I have been waiting on this title for a while. I can say that the wait for this book was worth it. Book 1 ending on a cliffhanger and I feel like I hung on for life.

This book filled me with so many emotions. There is ups and downs, tension, and emotions all over the place.

My favorite part about this book is the character growth. You see character growth and development from Maxim and Sophia. From the way this story began to the way it ended time for sure healed their souls and spirits and made them stronger together!

The ending I was not prepared for what played out. I will leave it at that!

So good! I loved that Sophia was able to survive and become stronger after her ordeal. I also enjoyed reading their relationship almost start over just to become stronger in the end.

Hunter is the fabulous sequel in the Lionheart duology! After the nail-biting finale of Primal, I was all set for a wild roller coaster with Hunter. The start was a total heart-crusher for our star-crossed lovers, and my poor heart just ached for Maxim as he waded through the chaos. These two were caught in an emotional whirlwind, fighting tooth and nail to reclaim their safety with unyielding grit.

This book sent my feelings on a dizzying joyride, packed with thrills, gut-wrenching tension, and a rollercoaster of emotions galore!

Now, I’m practically bouncing in my seat for Luca and Andrei’s tale, especially since the larger story still has so many tantalizing secrets waiting to be uncovered!

I was so happy to get the rest of Maxim and Sophia's story! With the way Primal left off I knew we'd be in for a ride with Hunter. The beginning was heartbreaking for the couple and I felt even worse for the struggle Maxim was enduring with everything surrounding them. They both were at war with so many emotions and the fight to get back to something safer was a battle they fought hard for.

Time and healing would make them stronger than before but there was always something keeping each of them at arms length. When the explosive finale of everything that has been going on is revealed, you're left with your jaw wide open and head spinning.

When I say everything happens all at once, I do mean EVERYTHING! The shock of who is behind everything and the side involvements and who knew what and for how long leave you not putting the book down until the last page.

Overall the story was a little repetitive at times, had some overused sayings and some scenes didn't flow well but the story was fantastic and gripped me from the very beginning. Worth the wait for the finish.

After the complete cliffhanger that Primal left us with what could be next? That was the question I kept asking my self as I anticipated anxiously the next book in the story of Maxim and Sophia. When Hunter was announced and finally coming out my heart skipped a beat would it be all I ever wanted? Would it shatter my expectations? Would it lead me to the perfect ending for this mafia boss and spicy doctor? The answer as I flipped through the pages of this work of art was a resounding yes! It flowed naturally truly encompassing feelings that I as the reader could almost feel in person. I felt Sophia’s pain and her happiness. I felt Maxim’s frustration and anger. This masterpiece me took me through more twists and turns than a back country road but the destination was worth it this book was the chefs kiss to end the story of Maxim and Sophia. If you love mafia romance the lionheart duology is for you! Happy reading!

Oh my goodness. The end of Maxim and Sophias story was everything. This book was filled with tension, suspense, sadness, and love. Maxim was having a hard time after not being able to protect Sophia and just had the whole world on his shoulders. Sophia went through such a traumatic circumstance that she had to rediscover this new version of herself and find a way to get Maxim to let her into his world so she wasn’t caught off guard again really. She had such growth, as did Maxim in different ways. The way they came together again and really stood strong was beautiful. They deserved their happy ending!

Thank you so much for this ARC 🥹

What a way for Maxim and Sophia to come together! They basically had to start all over again after everything they went through because neither of them were the same person after all of it went down. It felt so real and raw and vulnerable how they managed their emotions, the trauma. I'm so happy they got their HEA 😭🖤

The first half of this book was great and the story could have been amazing, but the second half felt rushed and had too many holes and jumps in the story. It made it hard to keep up with what was going on and just made me lose interest in the characters.

I was so disappointed by this book I honestly could’ve cried. I loved Primal so much, which made this one even harder to get through—but it very quickly turned into a hate read for me. It really needed some serious editing, and the plot felt completely all over the place.
