Oh my gosh I wanted to be Beau's friend 🥺🥺 His struggles with loneliness and making friends was so relatable. He made my heart hurt and my eyes leak!

Kassel made me laugh with how he just didn't really get anything that was going on, but he did want to make Beau happy...swoony!! His jealousy over Mr America was so funny 😂

Loved Oren and his organisation, and I cannot wait for Zorun and the twins to get their story!!

I received an ARC of this book from AM Rose / Booksprout, and this is my honest review

Ok but how freaking precious was Beau? Like I just wanted to shield him from every mean person that’s ever existed and give him endless hugs. Kassel was soooo grouchy and definitely wasn’t the kindest demon, but he got a soft spot for Beau. Like, really quickly. Their love story was sugar sweet.

Spice: 2/5

Triggers: death, eternal torture discussed, mentions of parental abandonment and foster care, isolation

Saddest boi find forever love - why is it so good?

He’d spend another Christmas alone. Surrounded by pretty lights and baubles now. Warm, with a roof over his head. But… alone. He let himself slide down to the floor, right next to his tree and the potted plant he had decorated just to remember how far he’d come. He looked up at the shine of his tree, knowing it would be reflected in the watery blue of his eyes. He was so tired. (P. 9)

Can I give this all the stars? Just.. all of them. Beau deserves all the stars.
But seriously, starting off the year with such an amazing read. I felt all the emotions with this one, cried for maybe 75% of it.. but my heart just totally wrapped itself around Beau and said “he’s mine now.”

The blurb is one of the best hooks I have come across in the over 3k books I have read. It is also a perfect window on what comes next. Guys, I am thinking the devil 😈 and demons are not as bad as they are painted out to be 😜

Sooo..
I'm a baby and EVERY TIME Beau cried, I also cried. I was leaking so many tears my vision got blurry. Beau is such a lonely lil bean 🥺🥺
Loved Kassel for him. 🥰

I do wish that their reunion had been a little better..? It just didn't feel as intense as I had hoped but I'll let it slide since Kassel is still very new to emotions so maybe it wouldn't have fit his character but he made up for it by not budging and even standing up to Luc when it came to not letting go of Beau 🥰

I'll be skipping the next one since it's going to be MMM but hope that there will be more in this world. Would love to see Peter get a story. ☺️

"𝘿𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙚...𝙄 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚, 𝙮𝙤𝙪'𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝙢𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨."

Kassel is minding his own business, zoning out at one of Oren's painstakingly long management meetings when he feels the pull of a summoning in his chest. When he gets to his destination he finds himself before a small, but lovely little human. He's ready for his orders of destruction or mayhem. What he isn't ready for is what Beau actually wants. A friend.

My heart broke for Beau. He's the sweetest soul in the world, yet he's all alone. That is not an exaggeration. Kassel can barely stand to look at him at first his soul shines so bright with goodness. How a person as kind as him finds himself all alone with not a single friend was mind-blowing to not only me, but Kassel as well. And though Kassel has never tried to be someone's friend before, he finds himself wanting to try if it will make this kind human happy. I'm positive he didn't expect their relationship to far surpass friendship by the time his summoning was complete.

"𝙄 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙤𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙢𝙚."

"𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙞𝙩 𝙨𝙤 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝?"

"𝘽𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪'𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙖𝙨."

I found it funny that when Kassel got back to Hell, he had all the signs of heartbreak, but had no idea that's what he was feeling. He just knew something didn't feel right. Something was missing. It took some of my favorite characters to give Kassel a clue, yet it didn't change the fact that Kassel was a demon who resided in Hell and Beau was a human who had his entire life to live before being slated for Heaven. Luckily, Kassal has some pretty crazy demons on his side, and it all turns out right in the end, so sweet Beau and demon Kassel get to enjoy a long lived HEA.

A.M. Rose really said I haven’t cried enough at books this year and decided to just whack me in the face with an adorable Christmas hurt/comfort book! I did not stop crying the whole way through and it was WORTH IT.

I have probably never loved a character so much as I love Beau. He is just the gentlest, kindest, loneliest bean ever to exist and he deserves so many good things. I would be his friend in a heartbeat!

Poor Beau has been made to feel invisible his whole life, and has had to live through being failed by the foster system and then becoming homeless before finally managing to get to the point where he has a stable income and somewhere to call his own. But he is still so alone and touch starved and he just wants someone to think he is worth noticing. Tearing up just thinking about it!

Kassel takes a moment to figure out that he cares about Beau, but once he does oh my goodness it is so sweet! He just wants to make Beau smile and protect him from sadness (and stop anyone from ever touching him, there is a whole lot of “mine” going on in there, phew!) and it’s the best thing. Especially because his methods are very morally questionable and the results are usually hilarious!

Watching Kassel experience a whole range of new emotions and come to view Beau as more than just a job was adorable. The tension between them was also exquisite and when the spice hit it was so so good! This book wasn’t as spicy as book one (Hellfire and Bowties) but it had fun features and it was perfect for the storyline.

Overall this was a brilliant read for anyone who enjoys hurt/comfort and wants to cry their eyes out, with some comedic relief to let you take some fluids on board! Or for anyone who enjoys holiday romance or monster romance.

HELLFIRE & TINSEL was a quick and cute read but I'm not sure it had the charm that book 1 did. Part of that was because Beau's story was so sad and his loneliness so poignant that it gave the book an underlying sadness even when things worked out in the end.

That being said, I did like Beau and Kassel and it was fun to see Kassel try to do normal human things. They were fun together amd I enjoyed the brief cameos of Luc and Oren. However, just personal opinion, I don't really like the twins so I wish they weren't so prominent in this one.

I was here. I exist. I have meaning to someone. - Beau

i’m so glad to end this year with this darling book! This is heavy on the hurt (for me, your mileage may vary) but has equal parts comfort thanks to Kassel. The angst comes from Beau’s loneliness, despair, the feeling of worthlessness, being dealt a bad hand in life and despite that, still seeing the good in things and people. i cried a lot bcuz those felt too close to home. i wish i could give Beau the warmest of hugs.

Fanmade by me.

This is very much story driven and it’s a very unconventional HEA. And i don’t mind the turn it took bcuz i love that type of trope, in fact i wrote a story like that back when i was younger!! Plot revolves around fulfilling Beau’s summoning request. So the closest trope is borrowed time/ fake boyfriends. This has 2 sex scenes and both were absolutely gorgeous, both of them being very responsive. Tropes at the end.

i absolutely recommend this to you.

Blue and Neil as Beau and Kassel respectively.

Beau is the sweetest character i’ve come across. He’s extremely touch starved but even so, his unfailing faith & hope is so endearing. And that’s why, it hurt every time he talked about his sadness. Like here:

Tonight, a gift. Tomorrow, company to the grocery store. Beau smiled at the thought and found himself anxious for the sun to come up.

--This part broke me. Maybe cuz i was already mentally in a bad place. But to see him get happy at such a little thing, made me cry.

He’s so good that even Angel Peter was crying cuz he lost Beau was also so nice to see, Beau’s prayer was also so heartbreaking.

“You’re so precious and good,” Peter got out around his sobs.

Kassel’s confusion in everything mortal was so funny to read. The fact that he has no concept of what a duck is, what smiling is, what is baking, etc. Usually in stories, it slips up, but i was happy to see that except him knowing about Hallmark movies, he just didn’t know anything.

“Do they actually hatch from eggs?” Beau bounced a little on the balls of his feet. “Like baby ducks?”

“Sure.” Kassel tried to remember what ducks were exactly. Birds of some sort, he was pretty sure. But the specifics were hazy.

Every heartache was supplied with care by Kassel.

The pet names are sooo cute!! Squishy, Heart, Cookie!! >u<

♦ The dates they go to. Yeah i’m calling a trip to the groceries a date. 😂 Cuz it’s so sweet!! The trip to the fair was obviously the best part!

Every little thing that Kassel does— he doesn’t understand but it makes a huge impact on Beau. Which ultimately impacts Kassel in return. It was beautiful to see the change.

And Kassel is probably demi!! Cuz Oren explains:

“You needed something deeper,” Oren said. “A real emotional bond before you started wanting someone for real.”

--Kassel is demi?? Omg !

♦ There’s no breakup, but there’s separation. i mean, it comes with the territory. But i knew that there was only 1 way this could turn out to be and it’s exactly how you’re thinking too. 🙂

And bcuz of that, the ending was extremely satisfying. Bcuz it’s nice to see that the ones who hurt Beau ended up where they belong!

Tropes: 📘Demon x human, 📘Size difference, 📘Fake boyfriends, 📘Mid/high angst, 📘Care taking, 📘Hurt x comfort, 📘Grumpy x sunshine, 📘Baking together, 📘Borrowed time, 📘Begging (in sex), 📘Touched starved MC, 📘Moaning/responsive, 📘 Touch him & get burnt, 📘Separation, 📘Christmas.

CW: Themes of loneliness, unworthiness, homelessness (past, only talked about) and being poorly treated (on page).

For those of you who may be anxious as to how they get together for the HEA, Spoiler:

i won’t finish any other books this year (also cuz i have national exams so i’m stressed! Orz )

'Kassel wanted to cradle Beau’s happiness. To protect it fiercely.'

I absolutely loved this book! Great world building and wonderful characters. I couldn't get enough of these two! I loved both Beau and Kassel. Beau's treatment from others, his incredible loneliness, and low self esteem broke my heart in the worst way. I loved how happy he was when Kassel was at his side. And he got so adorable when he got excited, crush-y feelings for him- like when he nearly squealed at Kassel's strength with the supermarket carts, or how he starting pretending to be too short to reach some of the items on the upper shelves when he liked how Kassel easily handed them to him.

I liked the way their relationship developed. And even though Kassel was there to make Beau happy, Beau always considered Kassel's feelings and wants. Since that seemed to surprise Kass at first, it must have been new to be considered.

“Because I was brought here to give you everything you want.”
They were the words his dream husband whispered to him every night, curled up together under the covers, so much love blooming between them he could hardly breathe. This wasn’t that reality though. This was a reality where he had summoned a demon to be his friend. Beau didn’t want a doll to instruct, he wanted a companion to spend time with.
“Then what I want is for you to also do what you want."

I like how Kass began to examine his feelings, and how he reacted to Beau's emotions and happiness. I also loved the supporting characters. The other demons were fun and surprisingly sweet.

I'm definitely going back to reading book one! And I can't wait for the twins' book next. The only thing to make this more perfect is for it to be released in audiobook. *swoon* 5 stars

A.M. Rose never disappoints, and I am loving this series. This is book 2, Kassel's story.

When I first met Kassel in Hellfire and Bowties, I was intrigued by his character. He's known in Hell for his beauty, but no one takes the time to look deeper. He's surrounded by the sinners he loves to torture and his demon family, but he's still very lonely. He sees how Luc is with Oren and wonders what it would be like to have a human of his own. Well, lucky for him, thanks to Oren's meddling, Kassel is summoned by a human seeking companionship!

Beau broke my heart from the first page. He's so sweet and pure despite having every reason not to be. He hasn't had an easy life, but he still sees the good in the world around him. But he's so lonely and touch-starved, he just needs someone to give him a little attention. So why not try that summoning spell in the book he randomly picked up? Surely, it won't work. Oh but it does!

Beau was cute and sweet and just wanted attention. Kassel was confused, having never been summoned before, and at a total loss as to how to treat a human. There are some hilarious missteps along the way and plenty of demon antics, but Kassel becomes more and more determined to make Beau happy as his attachment to the little human grows. But their relationship is doomed from the start. The summoning is temporary and Beau is still very much alive, while Kassel is needed in Hell.

This story, like the first in the series, is sweet, funny, steamy, and swoony. It's a perfectly Hellish holiday read!

This is the second book in the series. Like the first one, it’s a paranormal romantic comedy with a lot of weird and quirky characters, both humans and demons. The first book was about a human called Oren and his trip to hell, where he meets the devil who is called Luc. In this book, the demon Kassel is summoned by a cute human called Beau. Beau is very lonely, and all he wants is for Kassel to keep him company during the Christmas season, and show him kindness. Beaus has no one, he’s completely alone in the world. Kassel is a big bad demon but he is totally clueless about so many things related to humans and how they interact. I loved how Oren is sneaky and wants to help out. Kassel and Beau end up falling in love, but it’s tricky because one of them is human and the other is a demon residing in hell. I think I liked the first book a bit more because Beau was just a very sad character overall, and Oren was hilarious when he took over the organization of hell. The other demons made me laugh and I’m looking forward to their story

Who knew hell could be so sweet?

Beau is the sweetest, and I just wanted to wrap him up and protect him from the cruel world.
He has such a caring soul and doesn't understand why he's been invisible his whole life.
After reading a book written by a certain author named Oren, he finds himself in the company of Kassel, a demon of lust.
Oren, of course, makes certain that Kassel remains to make sure Beau is not lonely.
As they spend time together, slowly both begin to change and want things to stay the same.
When it's time for Kassel to return to hell, both are devastated.
Kassel has to be led to recognize that he has feelings, and Azaroth and Tarik are very naughty little brats who actually do a good thing unknowingly while trying to be bad.
Zorran is going to have his hands full with those two.
I can't wait for their story.

**Possible Spoilers**

Hellfire & Tinsel is an excellent continuation of the Hellfire series. I enjoyed seeing characters from the first book of the series.
Not gonna lie, I cried and cried over Beau. He is the sweetest, kindest person in the world. But he is also the most heartbreakingly lonely person in the world. His life is the saddest thing I’ve ever read, and I needed to grab him up and hold him and love him and show him how much he is loved. He broke my heart in so many ways that I was left numb and empty.
Thank Lucifer for Kassel. I won’t get into the details, don’t want to spoil it, but, truly, thank Luc for Kassel. He made me feel better about everything.
This is a…strange…way to get the warm fuzzies, but I got them nonetheless.
I’m so glad I read this. It was worth the swollen eyes and blocked sinuses.
I look forward to more from this author.

This is the second book in the Hellfire series. It can be enjoyed as a standalone read. The first book was amazing and this book is no different. This is the story of Beau and Kassel. Beau is a human who has lived a hard and lonely life. Desperately wanting one memory where someone knew he was alive. So in desperation he summons Kassel. Kassel is a demon who works in hell. When he pops up in Beau's house, he has no idea what to do with a human. Let alone how to grant Beau's wish. Together they try to work on it. This is their story. I loved how hard Kassel tried to make Beau happy. When you read about Beau's life your heart will break. He has definitely earned some happiness in his life. Of course, all happy endings need a little help from their friends. I just loved this book!.

4 ⭐️This was so, so cute!

I love monster romances and a demon x human MM romance xmas novella sounded so good this weekend, I just had to pick this up.

I liked the side characters and the impliactions of the world-building being something that transcent just this book (I haven't read any other book by this author... yet!). Beau was such a sweet soul, it hurt to see him struggling like that, but Kassel bringing his own brand of help was amazingly heartwarming.

Maybe not for everyone, and the ending kind of surprised me a little, but I definitely reccomend this if you're looking for a quick holiday novella and you love monster romances!

🌶🌶🌶 /5 - There's a whole extra spicy pepper just cause Kassel's 💦 was literally magic to Beau, and I really wasn't expecting that - I was very pleasantly surprised!

Beau is such a sweet and precious guy! He is so excited to finally have his own home and decorated for Christmas, then the carolers skip his house and something snaps in him. He opens the gift he got himself and finds a summoning for a demon - and Kassel answers him.

Though their initial meeting is mildly confusing for Kassel, when he returns he finds Beau more and more endearing. Making Beau feel like he isn’t invisible and worthless. Gosh it was just so sweet and I really enjoyed reading it!

This story is so good! I was so excited to visit this world again and get Kassel’s story and it did not disappoint! Beau is such and amazing character. I felt his pain, loneliness, and struggles so deeply, he is so relatable. Kassel is perfect for him and a great character too. I loved watching him trying to figure out how to take care of Beau, it was so cute and fun. We also get to see many of the other characters I’ve loved from the Hellfire series. Though this story is a standalone. This is an amazing holiday hurt/comfort story. It is heartbreaking, heartwarming, fun, funny, and cute. I recommend to anyone who loves hurt/comfort. I also can’t wait for more stories in this world! I love it so much!!

Well, that took a slighter darker turn than I was expecting. 💀
But my heart broke with Beau’s loneliness. His souls shines so brightly that he has become invisible to others.
I really liked how Kassel went from clueless demon to clueless possessive demon in a zap. Oren’s PowerPoint presentation to explain feelings was priceless.
😂

And who doesn’t love a random Doctor Who reference?

“Oren scowled.
“Beau doesn’t. You know Hell and Heaven time doesn’t run perpendicular to Earth. One second wasted here could be a month or a year there. A century here could be a blink there. It’s all wibbly wobbly, as the great Doctor would say.”
“Who?”
“Exactly.”
Kassel was so confused.”

Beau and Kassel story was emotional with a happy ending.
Beau loneliness was heartbreaking, and I was extremely happy when Kassel entered his world.
I liked their moments together, how he made everything to make Beau happy, and his protectiveness and possessiveness were endearing when he thought Beau's attention was derailed.
I really liked it when those two were reunited, acknowledged their feelings, and were offered the chance to be happy forever.
I liked seeing old characters and their role in our characters, achieving their happiness.
I enjoyed the story, and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.

This is a great follow up to Hellfire&Bowties. This time we get a cute Christmas hurt/comfort story with probably the most gentle and kind-hearted, yet loneliest character ever. Beau made my heart hurt so much and he completely deserved to find his happiness! Kassel is intrigued by this beautiful soul, and quickly becomes invested in Beau. He may take a while to figure out what he’s feelings mean, but he gets there in the end (with a bit of help from the demons we know and love). Beau is a heartbreaking character but it just makes his HEA all the more emotional and beautiful. I think I adored this book even more than the first in the series!

This is a sweet and sexy read. I enjoyed Beau and Kassel’s story.
Poor Beau goes through so much in his life, it will pull hard on your heart. Kassel is a demon who has no idea what the emotions are that he is feeling and even how to feel them. I enjoyed seeing the way the relationship develops between Beau and Kassel. The two are good together and it was nice to see how their emotions take over. Not only do the main characters shine but the supporting ones have a lot to say and I am eager to come back to this world and its characters.

This is the book I was eagerly awaiting since I've read Hellfire and Bowties and I can honestly say that it was the best fun I've had in months. At some points the story will make your heart ache for Beau, but in the whole it's undiluted fun - that is if you're not opposed to demons with all their sometimes very useful appendages, a lots of somewhat dark, dry humor and hilarious HEA. It made me smile and laugh out loud on every other page.
In theory it could be read as a standalone, but I suggest you read Hellfire and Bowties first - also a 5 star read. Can't wait for the next book in this series. The characters were introduced in the first two and it promises a lot of mischief.

This hit me in the feels right away and kinda didn't stop. Yes, I know I'm a total sap, but I felt so badly for poor, lonely Beau ::tears:: Good our organizational King - Oren - wrote a summoning book that only the right person could use...and Beau to used it call up Mr. Handsome himself, the rather clueless Kassel. I laughed a lot at his jealousy and just general cluelessness, but by the end of a pleasant few hours of reading, I was delighted that this beautiful soul named Beau got his heart's desire and he wasn't lonely anymore. Can't wait for the grumpster Zorun to get his book - oh my!!!
I love this series so much!
