... Introduction The prince made a fierce entrance, beating the grave, looking pained and angry over Meilin's death. He did not allow her to die, whipped the corpse, and carried the corpse on a horse.
... Chapter 1-21 Go back to the beginning of the story. Meilin was a spy for a secret organization. Her martial arts were destroyed. She was assigned to do a mission in exchange for an antidote to the poison in her body, which she had to exchange for news to get medicine every month.... And then her bruised and severe life began. I'm rooting for E. If life is like this, when having to be a spy who accidentally ended up being with the hero, on the first night, having to reluctantly accept being dry fucked, the hero felt like putting it in, shoving it in without a care. ~ While his body was still hurting from being fucked, he was abandoned and forgotten in the middle of the forest. When he survived, the woman the hero had loved for 10 years became suspicious, so he was taken as prey along with the prisoners in a hunting game. When he saw a chance to escape, the hero, whose tendons were torn (had to lie there as a vegetable), came to be a burden, having to take care of him, find food and water, and have a scene of wiping the hero's piss💩, carrying the crippled hero up mountains, down valleys, diving into caves, braving water and fire. When he was about to help the hero walk, he had to have his blood and flesh sucked for real, because the hero used her blood to help himself walk - that's not all, the heroine escaped, the hero still followed her, fucked her, and took her back. In order to get the heroine's blood to save the life of another woman that the male protagonist has loved for 10 years and waited to marry,
the male protagonist forced, raped, did not care (he asked what the female protagonist's name was in chapter 10), slapped her in the face, used her, gave her hope, and was greedy and loving towards other women in front of her. But when the female protagonist was about to leave because the male protagonist was going to get married, he meddlesomely made the female protagonist marry his own close friend so that the female protagonist would still be close to him. And then he couldn't accept it and came to be jealous, possessive, cursed, hurt her feelings, belittled her, and all sorts of evil were on every page. The evil spirits are present throughout almost the entire story.

... Chapter 22 and the epilogue are like completely different stories. So confusing!!! The male protagonist's 10-year love that he said he loved so much all along, but in chapter 22 he suddenly doesn't love her anymore. He easily broke up and went their separate ways. From a bitter drama because of stinky poop, it turned into a sweet and romantic love story full of sunshine. The male protagonist who has been an asshole all along, once he steps into chapter 22, he becomes a green flag male protagonist, warm, kind, a spender, who loves only his wife. From a dog with peach eyes and a golden nature, he became a man with a weak heart, depressed like a dog if his wife ignored him. "
"21.4 so he’s been going around with ~her corpse and lost his goddamn mind. Good. Fucker deserves worse. And she saved that cunt too
22.1 so she wakes up after a year, totally saved. 🫤 and MRJH has trapped her

9/9 it literally stresses me out to just give a book 1 star but man this book was FUUUCKED up. And like ... I kinda hated it? 😬😅 I read it entirely cuz I was super looking forward to the drama. Was even thinking I'd chase it. Now I am ... not excited about the drama. I'll still watch it but I won't chase it. I also fail to see how this is a romance in any way.
The prologue is already super intense ... and/but unfortunately that's kinda the best part.
FL falls in love with ML for - look - I know there shouldn't be a "reason" for love, but ... *takes a moment* - there had better be a good goddamn fucking reason to write a FL falling in love WITH HER ABUSER AND RAPIST.
She suspects he's the guy who tortured her from childhood till now - making her a soulless assassin ... and oh she was right. And then the first time they actually meet/she sees his face ... as I said - he rapes her all night. He always treats her awfully. FINALLY the day they're going to get married his bitch ass white moonlight is like "nah" so he's like oh ok cool AND PASSES FL OFF TO HIS GAY EUNUCH.
There is NO PART where he's good to her or sweet. And then he regrets it after he thinks she's dead AND KIDNAPS HER (once he knows she's alive) ... and we're just ... supposed to think it's all sweet and yay they're together now?

Story was a wild ride from start to finish. I quite like how the author kept to the POV of the MC most of the time as she’s an unreliable narrator.
It was an earned happy ending for side couples but I do believe for the main cp, a few more chapters to explain and extrapolate would be better for them.

ส่วนเนื้อเรื่องเราชอบมากนะ เราว่าสนุกดี เราชอบพล็อตเรื่องที่แบบพอ.กะนอ. ไม่ต้องรักกันหวานเว่อร์เอาอกเอาใจกันตลอดเว มีเกลียดมีโกรธกันมีทะเลาะตบตีด่าทอกันเป็นช่วงๆ มันทำให้ดูไม่นิย๊ายนิยายและดูเรียลดี

ก่อนอื่นขอชมคุณนักแปลเลยคร่า แปลดีสำนวนอ่านลื่นไหลไม่สะดุด และเท่าที่จำได้(น่าจะ)ไม่เจอคำสะกดผิดด้วย มีประโยคที่น่าจะสลับที่การวางคำอยู่แค่1-2ประโยคเองนะ 👏อยากปรบมือรัวๆให้เลยคร่า👍
ส่วนเนื้อเรื่องเราชอบมากนะ เราว่าสนุกดี เราชอบพล็อตเรื่องที่แบบพอ.กะนอ. ไม่ต้องรักกันหวานเว่อร์เอาอกเอาใจกันตลอดเว มีเกลียดมีโกรธกันมีทะเลาะตบตีด่าทอกันเป็นช่วงๆ มันทำให้ดูไม่นิย๊ายนิยายและดูเรียลดี
พระนางมีการพัฒนาความสัมพันธ์หลายช่วงระยะที่ทำให้เราลุ้นและรู้สึกร่วมไปด้วย ความรักของพระนางมีหลากหลายรูปแบบและอารมณ์ มีช่วงที่รักกันแบบต้องพึ่งพาอาศัยกันไว้ใจกัน รักกันแบบหวาดระแวงกันไป รักกันแบบทั้งรักทั้งเกลียด รักแบบขมๆที่คิดว่าตัวเองรักเค้าข้างเดียว แต่ไม่ว่ายังไงสุดท้ายก็ยังสามารถลงเอยด้วยกันได้ในที่สุดจ้า
มาว่ากันเรื่องพอ.อิมู่หรงอ๋อง(ตระกูลหลัวชั่วระดับตำนาน) ซึ่งพอ.เรื่องนี้ก็ไม่ทำให้ผิดหวังจ้า เข้าสู่ทำเนียบหลัวชั่วเรียบร้อย อ่านไปก็สาปอิอ๋องไปอ่ะ ชั่วเต็ม100แบบไม่มีอะไรมากั้น เห็นแก่ตัวขั้นสุดอ่ะ ดีนะที่ตอนหลังหายเห็นแก่ตัว () เปิดมาถึงอิอ๋องก็ซั่มนอ.แบบไม่มีเล้าโลมใดๆให้นอ.มีอารมณ์ร่วม นอ.ถึงกับขยาดการซั่มไปเลยจ้า ต่อมายกนอ.ให้กิ๊กเก่าล่าเหมือนสัตว์ป่า ถึงตอนนี้ฮียังไม่ได้รักนอ.ก็จริง แต่ก็ชั่วเกิ๊น แล้วพอเจอกิ๊กเก่าทีไรชอบทำร้ายนอ.เพื่อเอาใจกิ๊กตลอด ที่สุดแห่งความใจสลายคือ

ส่วนนอ. เป็นเรื่องที่นอ.คือเดอะแบกที่แท้ทรู เดินแบกพอ.ที่พิการไปครึ่งค่อนเรื่อง เป็นนอ.ที่โคตรเหนื่อยโคตรลำบากและรันทด เราต้องคอยลุ้นและเอาใจช่วยนางตลอดเรื่องอ่ะ แต่ชีคือเป็นคนที่จิตใจดีและคิดบวกมากนะ ไม่ว่าจะเกิดอะไรร้ายแรงลำบากลำบนท้อใจปวดใจแค่ไหน ชีก็จะลุกขึ้นมาสู้แล้วก็เดินหน้าไปต่อให้ได้ดีที่สุดอ่ะ เราเข้าใจนะที่นอ.รักอิอ๋องแบบที่ว่าไม่สามารถเลิกรักได้ยอมแทบทุกอย่าง เพราะชีตั้งแต่จำความได้ก็โตมาในองค์กรลับแบบไม่มีความรักความผูกพันธ์กะใครเลย พอมาได้มีความความสัมพันธ์กะอิอ๋องเลยหวั่นไหว แล้วยิ่งได้มาฝ่าฟันอุปสรรคต่างๆด้วยกันอีกเลยรักและผูกพันธ์อิอ๋องมาก อ่านไปน้ำตาคลอสงสารนอ.ไปด้วยอ่ะ
ส่วนของเนื้อเรื่อง เราชอบตอนที่พระนางติดป่าจนมาใช้ชีวิตอยู่ด้วยกันแบบผัวเมียที่หมู่บ้าน พึ่งพากันแบบคือผช.เป็นมันสมองส่วนผญ.ก็ใช้แรงกายไปเพื่อให้มีชีวิตรอด แล้วช่วงอยู่ที่หมู่บ้านคือละมุนใจมากทั้งๆที่ไม่มีฉากสวีท แต่ที่เราไม่เข้าใจคือ ช่วงนี้นอ.คือรักและดูแลพอ.ดีมาก แต่ทำไมอิอ๋อง ทั้งๆที่ช่วงนี้ฮีก็มีใจให้นอ.แล้วนะ เอ๊ะหรือว่าฮีไม่ได้ตั้งใจให้เป็นขนาดนี้นะ🤔

I read this story after watching the drama (Kill Me Love Me), since I was curious about the differences between the two, and the novel was only 20 something chapters.
I have to say... Murong Jinghe is really a scum male lead in the novel. They made his character much much better in the drama. He's a complete playboy and sleeps around with various women. In fact, once he's presented with Mei Lin as one of the peace making beauties, he immediately forces himself on her (and whether she consents or not is dubious).
I thought about dropping the story but kept reading out of a morbid sense of curiosity about other differences. Other than the ML's extremely questionable character, another big difference is that he's in love with the general (Luo Mei) in the novel and actually uses the FL to make her jealous. That's all of Mei Lin's value to him initially. He doesn't care about her at all, and it's not until the novel is almost half over when he even thinks to ask for her name.
Given how the ML treats her simply as a disposable chess piece for most of the story, I'm really surprised that Mei Lin eventually falls for him. There is some sweetness when they're hiding in the remote village and it's the two of them (this the part of the novel that most resembles the drama), but once they emerge from the village their relationship is all messed up again. Jinghe even marries her off to his loyal follower Qingyan, who is a eunuch in the novel, because he wants her nearby but he can't marry her himself due to strong objections from Luo Mei. What a selfish man. It's a happy ending, but I think Mei Lin would've been better off roaming the world and enjoying her freedom rather than marrying Jinghe, who's already emperor by then.
The novel focuses mostly on their relationship with some bits of story thrown in here and there. There's no intricate political intrigue between the Crown Prince and the ML, though so much of the drama revolves around that. It's mentioned in passing that the ML was able to pin the assassin organization on the Crown Prince and that's it. There are no side couples like the crown prince + Luo Mei, or the emperor + the Xiyan princess. In fact, Yue Qin isn't even a prince here but a young Xiyan boy who happens to be rescued by Mei Lin. I'm surprised by how much the drama embellished the story.

I read this novel after seeing the trailer of drama adaptation. I can understand why some people don’t like this story. Because of forced s** and abuse. But being historical drama after those times female are given freedom in this regard. Second reason to hate is FL falling in love with ML after abuse. But I can understand why FL fell in love to an extend. ML and FL characters are flawed. But I travel through the story and characters develop even though they are flawed they have their reasons. I cried a lot almost near the end. But to the end eve though it’s uncalled climax suddenly all the sadness I felt when I read last but 4/3 chapter disappeared. This is not love story of perfect couple. But of flawed and problematic couple.

I honestly don't know how to feel about this.
I braced my self for the worst, people say this is an ugly novel but this is a tad better than Prisoner of a Beauty.
I just hope the ML suffered longer with the corpse.
The FL deserved ALL the happiness in the world.
My heart ached while reading this.
The plot of the drama significally deviated from this novel BUT I expect a happy ending.

Not one of my favorite, obviously....
Not a fan of the ML, Murong Jinghe, a real red flag with five stars. He continuously abuse the female lead, Mei Lin, and strangely Mei Lin fell in love with him eventually. The story sometimes kind of rushed and there's a few part that don't seem connect to the previous part. Well, I don't know it is because of the translation or maybe that's how the story goes. The good point is, the happy ending, which is sadly not for the drama.

特别喜欢的古言小说呀。特别喜欢女主角的隐忍，冷静，坚强。女主死侍这个设定真的很令人心疼。眉林像春花一样积极向上的活着，清楚的知道自己的身份，但是全力以赴的努力做到自己的最好，不负自己。眉林的性格真的很美好。男主就是个大猪蹄子，还好最后被虐的很惨。感觉这个小说很适合电视剧化。

While the hero’s actions can be frustrating at times, he does gets better, the heroine truly shines in this story. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering determination carry the entire journey. She’s the heart of the book and made the story a memorable read.

最精彩的是開頭鞭屍的部分，個人很喜歡這種中間虐的要死但最後HE的文。
前面上演大逃殺的劇情，而男主角呈癱瘓零戰力的設定，頗有新意。整本劇情在男主角背叛女主角的時候，來到最高潮，不是愛情的那種背叛，但卻令人心痛，女主角發現時那裡的描述實在很棒。
男主角從頭王八到尾，努力貫徹渣男之路，而且女主角雖然有努力逃離家暴(x)但後來很快就妥協了，算是不糾結，不過想看追妻火葬場的讀者，可能就會很失望了。

Kill me Love me. I enjoyed the rebirth part of the storyline, but you never really like male lead. He is pretty frustrating the whole time. But the ending of the novel is soooo much better than the tv show.
