The premise of this book interested me as I wanted to learn more about the third person of the Trinity, God the Holy Spirit, whom we may not speak of or study as often as we do with God the Father and God the Son. Although Jesus shared much about the promised Advocate who was coming to dwell within believers, it was refreshing to be reminded of the Holy Spirit’s active work throughout the Old Testament through many of God's people. Margaret Feinberg is a new author to me, so I appreciated how she brought readers back to the Bible in each chapter when relaying how we could better know and understand who the Spirit is.

This book challenged me in a positive way to move from my predominantly intellectual approach when studying the matters of faith to one that is, quite frankly, more spiritual. The testimonies shared within the pages were moving and pointed to how we cannot put God in a box. Being attuned to God and evaluating everything by His Word is a call to keep abiding in Him, one that the author demonstrated through amazing stories of the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament, her life, and those of her family and friends. Readers looking for a systematic explanation of the power and presence of the Holy Spirit leading up to and beyond Pentecost will simultaneously experience a fresh breath of air and a desire for God's consuming fire in life.

Wow- amazing autobiographical testimony from Margaret Feinberg’s life woven with people from the Old Testament who encountered the presence of the Holy Spirit. The breath prayers are life giving, powerful prayers. The Spirit of the Living God is the God you need to know.

The God You Need to Know by Margaret Feinberg

Thanks to the ALC program by @librofm I was delighted by Feinberg’s experiences and enlightenment. A wonderful work to have a close and deep encounter with the Holy Spirit and the love of God.

✨The God You Need to Know is for you if:

❤️You love Jesus, but your faith feels dry or disconnected lately
❤️You're curious (but cautious) about the Holy Spirit and want a grounded, approachable way to explore
❤️You want practical tools, not just more head knowledge
❤️You've ever thought, "Why does this feel so real for others . . . but distant for me?"

This book is a gem for believers and for all those who are interested in connecting with a higher spiritual power, who are seeking, knocking and waiting for that door to open.

Margaret Feinberg's fantastic The God You Need to Know is a joyful, intimate, and engrossing study on the person of the Trinity that perhaps we know the least best: Holy Spirit. In 6 sessions which include video teaching (with the code you'll find inside your workbook), group session portions, and personal 5-day Bible study sections, you'll get to know Holy Spirit. Feinberg uses Old Testament and New Testament Scriptures to help us to know Him better. She recommends ways we can watch for Him moving in our own lives. She encourages us to wait for Him and respond to Him when we see Him moving.

The video teachings pair perfectly with the study, and Feinberg uses both Scriptures and her own (and others') experiences to help us to pay attention to this person of the Trinity who's unique and moving all throughout the Bible.

This study is exciting, heart-changing, and wonderful. I really did feel that I knew Holy Spirit in a deeper and more intimate way after this study. Highly recommend!

I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions shared here are my own honest ones.

Bible Studies are an important part of my Christian Growth and Faith. The God You Need to Know by Margaret Feinberg is the latest Bible Study book that I have read.

WOW, this Book and Video Sessions are absolutely one of the BEST I have ever read and Studied. The God You Need to Know is based on the Old Testament teachings. I am BLOWN away by the Format, the Layout, the Content and how interactive the book is, all intrigued me. I have never had a Study on the Holy Spirit and that also excited me about this book. The Holy Spirit really touches our lives in ways that help us listen to God and guides us to follow his ways. I can honestly say that this book and how the Author writes the book and teaches the videos, really woke me up to accept the Holy Spirit when I feel the Holy Spirit in me. I HIGHLY recommend this book, which comes with a code to watch the 6 Video Sessions also, to anyone who is interested in being touched by the Holy Spirit. GREAT BOOK!

Deepened my relationship with God

I had never read a book by Margaret before, but I felt like God led me to this study. I lead a women's group at my church and God pointed me towards this Bible study. I, and many of the women in my group, did not know we needed this as much as we did. We started out with just the study book but realized that we were missing out by not also reading the book. The content, from the personal stories and the scripture deep dive, was so enriching. It helped me deepen my relationship with the Holy Spirit at a time that I really needed His strength and guidance. I'm so grateful for this book and the study. The Holy Spirit spoke to me through it in so many profound ways! I recommend it to anyone who feels like their relationship with God could go deeper (isn't that everyone?)

🎧 Audiobook Review! 🎧

An ALC was kindly provided by Libro.FM. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy this wonderful book!

The God You Need to Know was such an interesting book! I enjoyed reading about Feinberg’s own personal experiences where she felt God touch her life.

Everyone has their own beliefs or experiences, and I enjoyed seeing what Feinberg shared about her own.

This is a quick read, but I really enjoyed it!

There is little discussion of the person or characteristics of the Holy Spirit. Attributions that are given to the Holy Spirit are not always biblically founded, such as the Holy Spirit being the godhead that “puts you at the right place at the right time.” There are more pages devoted to personal stories from the life of Feinberg and her friends than of biblical examples or discussion of theology.

This is a great new Bible study about the Holy Spirit. It includes codes for the accompanying videos. The study is a good balance between being easy for newer believers to understand and insightful for seasoned believers. I really like the unique coloring pages at the end of each chapter. Perfect for group study, and also good for individual study.

Not exactly my style for bible study, but I did learn alot about Holy Spirit. Feinbergs style is more story-telling to make a biblical point. I generally like more scripture and historical reference; points that send me researching! I know I will reference back to this book and the notes I've made along the way.

I love Margaret Feinberg's writing. She's passionate and relatable. I particularly loved the chapter on The Holy Spirit at Night, and also the story about Jack Murphy. Getting to know the Holy Spirit through the way she organized this book was very helpful to me.

I really enjoyed this book on the Holy Spirit. I was taught at a young age to listen to the Holy Spirit, and this book held many good reminders and new ideas. I used this book as a journal of sorts and added extensive personal notes to my ebook. I was grateful for the opportunity, and it was a great process.

Margaret Feinberg’s newest book the God you Need to Know is a wonderful and insightful look at the Holy Spirit. Margaret writes with honesty and clarity. I was especially liked the word picture she creates when she says the Spirit wears us like a garment, this was a comforting reminder of one of the many roles of the Spirit in our lives. My understanding of the Holy Spirit was taken to a new level with her teaching on the Spirit’s special work to reveal the character, compassion, and competence of God to us. There is much more to the Holy Spirit than is taught is many churches these days. We limited him in so many ways. Thank you, Margaret, for shining the light on the many facets of who the Spirit truly is. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to further their understanding of the Holy Spirit.

Oh my goodness, this book was amazing. It was autobiographical with lots of biblical teaching thrown in. I listened to the audiobook but once I can get my hands on a hard copy I’m going to buy that to read again. Yes, it’s really that good!!!

Feinberg’s quick wit, magic with language, fiesty spirit, and love for God and the Word explode onto the pages of this book to represent the untamable, unfathomable, inconclusive Love Of the Spirit. I can read this multiple times and glean wonderful truths from it.
I love how at the end of the book she explains the detailed agony of including all the best symbols for the cover. I also adore how she reveals how she labored over this book to get it just right. Well, sit back and relax, Girl, because you and the Holy Spirit Himself were successful!

This one was so full of unexpected adventures from the author's life along with the spiritual insights she shared, that I was enthralled enough and needing a second dose to see if I "got that right" in her stories, that I listened to the audiobook twice.
