Triple Bond

Rate this book
Return to Heliotrope with Cam and Joel Landrie — a set of twins identical in every way, except their powers.

When Cam’s rare abilities get him labeled as the Chosen One, powerful forces conspire to tear the brothers apart, forcing them, and Joel’s volatile best friend Tessa, to take refuge at WASP — an underfunded school for superhero dropouts.

Life at WASP proves more complicated and more dangerous than they expected, and they must partner with the WASP students to unravel a dangerous conspiracy before it’s too late.

Now a band of superhero misfits must uncover the truth behind the lies before the conspiracy changes their lives forever.

Triple Bond is a no-spice YA superhero adventure with high stakes, found family, and a reluctant chosen one with a twist.

Another excellent edition in The Heliotrope Diaries series.

Triple Bond follows identical twins Cam and Joel Landice, and their hot-headed best friend Tessa. They get into quite a bit of shenanigans. It’s a mixture of the classic Random Man antics, while combining in new dangers and adventures for them to encounter.

I recommend going into this book absolutely spoiler free because it has some many twists and turns in it that it’s fun to watch. Foreshadowing of certain events is done masterfully. It makes you question certain elements of the plot but then as you keep reading, you understand why. It’s very nuanced.

If you want a change of pace from the original book, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed as the book features a triple-pov structure compared to original that’s just Randy’s. However, Triple Bond also has some elements from the original OG fans will enjoy. Without spoiling it, I believe this book will impress old and new fans alike.

Tessa is a new favorite character for me too. It was nice to see a character that I related to. Tessa’s abandonment issues are written incredibly well might I add.

I am enthusiastically awaiting the trilogies conclusion.

We meet identical twins, Joel and Cam. One has powers (will live for hundreds of years) and the other does not. I was really intrigued by this concept. Tessa has super strength and is the best friend that is always trying to keep everyone safe. The friendship all three have and how much they care for each other was very sweet 🥹 Because Cam's rare powers make him "the chosen one", powerful forces conspire to tear them apart. They end up taking refuge at WASP, an underfunded school for superhero dropouts. I was excited to see the characters from book 1 again 😁 They all blended so well together and love seeing the found family growing. This was fast-paced, full of sweet friendships, banter, young love and was action packed. It had so many moments that had me audibly gasping 🤯 That ending has me needing the next book! Thank you for this arc opportunity!!

I enjoyed the first book, don’t get me wrong, but oh my gosh: this book was something out of this world. The plot twists, the relationships & friendships, the angst, the emotions - it was all too much. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and was overwhelmed. My mind was buzzing trying to figure out what was going on. Some, I was able to figure out, but there were so many plot twists I couldn’t have anticipated.

I don’t want to say too much to avoid spoilers - but PLEASE read this book. A reminder that it is YA!

Triple Bond is the second book in the Heliotrope Diaries and is easily my favorite of the two.

With Triple Bond, the author takes us on a fantastic journey through a mix of emotions. The tale is a blend of thrilling action scenes, powerful and moving moments, twists and fun banter among the characters. All put together in a well written story that takes it to another level, a story that I loved reading.
This book, and series, is easy to recommend.
