SINS OF THE HEART
My father wants me to sell my soul to the devil due to my obligations to the family.
To be a puppet whose dead inside and an obedient wife for an alliance.
I decided for one night to live freely and reckless and encountered him . The man whose eyes sent shivers down my spine and evoked fear in everyone when he entered the room. Who wanted a taste of me. To corrupt me, devour me, possess me, and ruin me. I was labeled forbidden fruit but he wrecked my soul anyways. Stained me.
One night and one touch had changed everything, rocking me to the core. Desire vs duty. Sin and salvation. Life or death.

Honor’s journey is emotional, tense, and at times heartbreaking. Especially because the men in her life let her down over and over again. Watching how poorly she was treated made certain scenes tough to read without yelling at them!
Hudson though… he might be one of the worst characters and fathers I’ve read about in a while. His actions added so much frustration to the story, but also made Honor’s growth and inner strength stand out even more. But then there’s Psalm… He was a bright spot, genuinely great man, and I absolutely loved the forbidden connection between him and Honor.
If you enjoy arranged marriage plots, crime family dynamics, high tension, and forbidden love, this one is definitely worth picking up. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Interesting.
NTM's author and I had a time reading this book. The plot keeps you intrigued, but I felt frustrated a time or two with Honor because her actions really had me questioning her judgment, but looking at the situation from her point of view, I grew to understand she was trying to protect everyone involved. Psalm was the man from the time he was introduced, and his BDE never wavered. I loved how he and Honor interacted with each other. This book is a world of mafia politics and enemies around every corner; it's an absolute page-turner for sure.

Honor and Psalms was a wild ass couple. Honor father was really crazy and wild throughout the entire book. This is my first book by this author and I like the Mafia and gang ties. I do feel like this book was unnecessarily long. This book was really wild until the very end. This book was very very spicy. The secret baby trope was wild because Honor father did not care about his grandchild at all. I want t reads more books by this author.

4.5 ⭐️ Wow this book had me locked in all day. This author is new to me and I will definitely be reading more of her work. I'm not usually big on mafia storylines but I enjoyed this so much. Psalm was such a man. He was a protector and exuded BDE. I loved how sweet he was on Honor, and I loved how they both naturally gravitated toward each other.

This was long to me and not because it was actually a lengthy read. I usually love this trope but this story was poorly edited, the grammatical errors and incorrect tense of words was ANNOYING. Oh and the random switch to third person POV pissed me off bad lol.
We meet Honor and just know sister is in the trenches although rich and beautiful. Basically her daddy is a dictator and pawning her off to the highest in order to further is own mafia agenda. Our girl picks her last night of “freedom” to do something wild and out of the ordinary. Enter Psalm fine self. A nice lil one night stand occurs. From that we later learn honor got pregnant so now her arranged marriage falls through.
Now we spend the rest of the book waiting for Honor to find some sense, be the bad b*tch she’s made out to be, just do anything to get away from her controlling and ABUSIVE DADDY. Like girl is a chemical engineer but can’t make a concoction to send that man back to the devil he came from?!? Like girl you got a baby I know y’all seen emperors new groove take a page from Yzma and turn papa dearest into a llama F*ck you waiting on ?? Honestly, the author lost me as soon as Psalm asked about Halo and Honor lied. Like sorry this your biggest window to escape and actually be with someone who could go up against your dad. Like girl sat in that man’s face and said nah that baby is my son, lied about his age and all 🫠🫠🫠
The drama was forced yet predictable and I need the author to explain the point of miss girl lying to still end up with the HEA as expected. Like am I happy she got her rainbow after the rain sure but getting there was a slow, tedious process.

I was going to give 3 stars, but the errors…yoh it was too too much! It was unnecessarily long, the whole situation was dragged out, and that lil revelation at the end added nothing to the story.

4.5✨ “Sins of the Heart” was a mafia story that left me feeling like I had watched a short movie playing on the page. Skynova did a fantastic job with this book. From chapter one, I could feel the darkness oozing from the page. No, this is not a dark romance, but some characters are cold-hearted and deadly. It made me wonder how far some of them would go to have all the power.
When Psalm was first introduced and described as having “cold and empty eyes,” I knew he would have a story to tell, and I was intrigued. Meanwhile, Honor wanted one night of being carefree; she was sheltered and heavily protected by her father’s men and protective cousin. During the first encounter, another man tried to spit game at Honor, but Psalm demonstrated his dominance and subsequently took Honor home with him - eventually changing the life trajectory for both of them.
“Sins of the Heart” was fast-paced, complex, and full of secrets galore. It touched on greed, corruption, cover-ups, and more bloodshed than I could count. There were so many jaw-dropping moments that my mind was racing. Skynova touched on many sensitive topics, such as human trafficking, absent mothers/fathers, and autism, amongst other things. I enjoyed this book because it kept me guessing as more secrets were exposed. I was genuinely surprised as the loose ends were tied up in the end because the odds were stacked against the couple. However, I would have liked more insight into the aftermath of the leaked information because it was such a pivotal moment in the story. Throughout the book, I could feel the hesitation between Honor and Psalm, specifically surrounding trust and being vulnerable with each other. Honor was completely brainwashed by her “father” but I was so glad that Psalm was able to help prove that he was really that man! Good job on this book!

This is a well written book with strong characters in Psalm and Honor. The author does a terrific job building the story and takes you into their lives with secrets and cover ups, action and violence, emotions and steam. She moves the story fluidly and delivers a great read.

Buckle up, you’re in for a wild ride! This book grabs you, tosses you in, and doesn’t let you out until it’s finished with you. I love the suspense, chaos, danger, and more. It was intense. That man was hot! Together those two were fire. I loved every steamy moment of this book.

Rating 4.5⭐️ Sins of the Heart 👀👀 this book was a full blown storm. Secrets, betrayal, power plays and family ties twisted so tight it felt like everybody was connected whether they liked it or not.
From the very beginning one thing was clear. Hudson was pure evil. Not the charming villain type either. Just greedy, power hungry and completely heartless. Being a husband, father or grandfather meant absolutely nothing to him if it stood in the way of control and influence. The amount of havoc that man caused in people’s lives was unbelievable. There’s definitely a special corner of hell waiting for somebody like him.
Now Honor baby I wanted to grab her shoulders through the pages. So many moments I was yelling 🗣️ Girl just tell Psalm what’s going on!because anything had to be better than staying trapped under her father’s manipulation and abuse. You could feel how fear and obligation kept her silent but the whole time you’re reading you just want her to break free already. Trust the man you're opening your legs for!!!
So umm Psalm.......Listen Psalm is that man. If you like a dark romance hero who is protective, commanding and absolutely locked in when it comes to his woman, Psalm checks every box. The energy, the loyalty, the way he moves once he realizes what Honor is dealing with, THE BDE… yeah he understood the assignment.
What really gagged me though was how tangled all the families were. Almost every parent had some kind of history or connection with each other. Old relationships, forced marriages for alliances, feelings that never died and secrets that kept resurfacing. It’s like the mafia world runs on power, loyalty, deception and a whole lot of complicated love stories happening behind closed doors. At the center of all that chaos were Honor and Psalm, two people who crossed paths in Vegas with no idea just how closely their lives were already intertwined. What started as one reckless night turned into something much deeper, proving that sometimes fate has its own plan no matter how hard people try to control it.
Between the corruption, the family drama, the dark romance tension and the constant twists, this story had a lot going on but it kept me hooked the whole time. After everything Psalm showed in this book I wouldn’t mind having a Psalm of my own either.

3.5 Stars – This Book Had Me, Then Lost Me, Then Kinda Got Me Again.
Whew, chile. “Sins of the Heart” tried to give dark, deadly, and dramatic... but somewhere between the tense-switching, grammatical chaos, and that random third-person POV jump—I was side-eyeing HARD.
Let’s be real: the setup was juicy. Honor? Bad and bougie with a whole dictator daddy using her like a pawn in his mafia power play. Sis had one night to be reckless, and she chose fine-ass Psalm. One lil spicy night turns into a baby, and suddenly that arranged marriage gets snatched off the table. Promising, right?
But babyyyyy the execution? Had me in a chokehold—and not in a good way. The pacing dragged even though the book wasn’t long, and I found myself waiting (begging!) for Honor to wake TF up and remember she ain’t no damsel. Like ma’am… you a chemical engineer! Turn your tyrant of a father into a science project and get gone! Why we out here lying to Psalm, your one chance at escape, about HIS child?? Like… who raised you? 🫠
The drama felt like it was trying too hard to be shocking but ended up predictable. We had human trafficking, autism, corruption, coverups—it was a lot. And while I respect an author tackling deep themes, the story got tangled up trying to do too much. I was here for Psalm’s cold eyes and mysterious past, but Honor’s decisions had me mentally throwing the whole Kindle.
That said… it wasn’t all bad. The tension between Psalm and Honor had me hooked for a bit, and the whole "dark knight saves the lost princess" vibe almost delivered. The final twist tied things up nice, even if it didn’t hit as hard as I hoped. Honor and Psalm got their HEA, but it felt like we had to suffer to get there—and not in a fun, emotional rollercoaster kinda way.
If you love mafia romance with extra spice and a splash of sweet redemption, this might still be your vibe. But if grammar errors and plot holes make you twitch like they do me? Read with caution and wine.
Final Verdict: A bold idea with a messy execution. Hot in theory, lukewarm in delivery. Still, Psalm? Yeah… he can call me anytime lol.

You might want to hang on don’t blink and you might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified possessive, oh so gorgeous, brooding all three makings of a story consisting with the three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, darkness, secrets revealed, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love somewhere along the way! Honor is one of the spicy one, she is beautiful raised with money but in a gilded cage controlled by her father, with one goal pawn her off to the highest bidder to further his mafia agenda and she decides to not to go down without a fight she chooses freedom on her last night of being single going out having a little fun oh yep, one night of passion with none other than the man she maybe should have ran from (strong maybe) but he left her with a gift 😊. But we see just how controlling her becomes after learning of her pregnancy, his arranged marriage falling through, and her father becomes a nightmare. Psalm sexy as all get out father to her son isn’t a nice man when he is on your radar, can be dangerous, ruthless on a good day, deadly every day and he knows her father isn’t a nice man he also knows that is his child he will take care of anyone in his way of claiming them but will her father allow it, will she wise up to see he is there to help her, can he keep her protected against her father, and where are they headed?

Okay, buckle up! Just finished "Sins of the Heart" by Skynova, and whoa, that was a wild ride! ️
This mafia romance had me hooked from the start. It's dark, suspenseful, and seriously steamy. Skynova does a great job creating a world full of danger, secrets, and powerful men.
Our heroine, Honor, is trapped in a gilded cage by her controlling father. She rebels by having a one-night stand with the gorgeous and mysterious Psalm. Little does she know, this fling will change her life forever.
Psalm is everything you want in a dark hero – protective, possessive, and ridiculously hot. He'll do anything to keep Honor safe, even from her own family.
The plot twists kept me guessing until the very end. There was betrayal, violence, and enough drama to fill a Shakespearean play. However, there were some editing issues that were a bit distracting.
Overall, "Sins of the Heart" is a fun, action-packed read for anyone who loves dark romances with strong characters and a happily ever after you have to fight for.
Here's my rating: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️
P.S. Psalm. Just... Psalm. This guy is seriously swoon-worthy!.

Dark, Steamy, and Completely Unforgettable Skynova Does It Again!
Skynova does it again! Every single time she drops a book, I know I’m about to dive into something deliciously addictive, and Sins of the Heart is no exception. This dark romance had me hooked from start to finish with its intense plot, layered characters, and just the right amount of spice.
Psalm? Oh my God, he was EVERYTHING—dark, protective, and so incredibly captivating. And Honor? Her unique occupation and the challenges she faced trying to navigate a life of duty and secrets made her journey one to root for. The one-night stand that led to a secret baby? Whew! That twist alone kept me on edge.
I loved how Psalm stepped in like the true hero he is, protecting Honor and showing her what it means to be truly loved. And can we talk about that beach scene? 🔥🔥🔥 It was steamy, intense, and unforgettable.
Skynova knows how to perfectly pace a novel, build strong character development, and add just the right amount of spice to keep you hooked.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5—If you’re into dark romances with deep emotions, unforgettable characters, and sizzling tension, this is a must-read!

Honor is a sheltered girl who is trying to celebrate her birthday and she wanted a one night stand. Without being under the watchful eye of her father and his guards. She got more what she bargain for when Psalm pistol whooped who she thought was going to be her one night stand. Psalm saw her and knew he had to have her. Her father Hudson was trying to marry her off, but she couldn’t stop thinking about Psalm. Psalm was the illegitimate kid.who grew up in foster care with Noah and Serenity. That’s where her fascination of her and Psalm could be a couple. Psalm would show up all the places that Honor was and he went toe to toe with Hudson. To show he wasn’t scared of him. Her main concern was getting her brother and her son away from her father. She kept Halo away from Psalm because of his reputation. Plus she found out what her father really does. The marriage fell through, so he had to find another man to marry her off too. Kash was in disbelief when he found out that he was Psalm twin instead of his cousin. Honor gained a new friend in Aspen and her cousin Indigo. Hudson was killed. Cassie, Junior Honor and Halo got from under his control

If you are a fan of dark, high-intensity mafia romances that explore the fragile boundary between duty and desire, Sins of the Heart is an absolute triumph. The story centers on a beautifully tragic premise: a heroine forced by her father to sell her soul for a family alliance, destined to become an obedient puppet of a wife. In a final, desperate act of defiance, she chooses one night to live completely recklessly—leading her straight into the path of a man who defines danger itself.
The chemistry between the two leads is instant, primal, and utterly consuming. The hero is the ultimate dark alpha—a man whose mere presence evokes terror, yet who looks at the heroine and sees a "forbidden fruit" he is entirely determined to corrupt, possess, and ruin. That single, stolen night completely rewrites the trajectory of their lives. Skynova masterfully balances the psychological weight of family obligation against an all-consuming, obsessive love. It is a fast-paced, high-heat standalone that perfectly captures the thrilling friction of sin and salvation.

This author is new to me, but I plan to read more from their catalog.
The story alone is 5 stars; but needed more editing because the writing at times was chunky. The fluidity and transition when revealing information wasn’t organic. For example when Psalms learned of the secret, it wasn’t a natural progression in the story’s development. It was almost like the author knew it was time for the reveal and just placed the information there. Because all of a sudden, the character is connecting dots he hadn’t and shouldn’t without a few other things happening. Also, the grammar errors; specifically spelling errors were ruining my flow.
But again, the overall plot, characters, entertainment of it all was 5 stars. I just hope the author revises the story and stretch it out a few more chapters. Then the ending and all the random things revealed, won’t feel so rushed. And well… random. Some of the things thrown in at the end were unnecessary and didn’t add to the story.

Baby, Honor had me STRESSED. Every time I thought one of these men was finally going to do right by her, here came some more foolishness.
And Hudson? Sir, I have NOTHING nice to say. As a father, he worked my last nerve. The way he handled Honor had me wanting to reach through my Kindle several times. That man was out of control.
But Psalm? Now THERE'S a man. From the minute he came on the page with those cold eyes and quiet danger, I knew he was about to be somebody's problem. I just didn't know Honor was going to be the one to turn his whole situation upside down.
Honor and Psalm were wild together, and I ate their forbidden connection UP. She had spent so much of her life being controlled and protected that watching her finally reach for something she wanted made me root for her even harder.
And since arranged marriage is already one of my favorite tropes, adding crime family mess, forbidden love, secrets, and folks willing to do anything for power? Yeah, y'all had me.
This read had me fussing, stressed, and still flipping pages because I needed to see how Honor and Psalm were going to get themselves out of this mess.

The novel I read was very enjoyable. The main characters, Psalm and Honor, are strong personalities who grow through their relationship and find their place in life. It all starts with a one-night stand with consequences. Hudson Sr. is a control freak who can't stand that his daughter is healthy, and his supposedly perfect son suffers from a mental illness. Junior is just sweet, and it's sad to see him grow up under such a father, especially when you see how Psalm, as an "illegitimate child," is treated.
The mother of Honor is hard to understand, as she watches her children being abused by the father for years, especially Honor. The story has a good flow of action, pillow talk, and romance. Thanks to the author for this wonderful book.

So this is my first full Black Mafia review. The story was written well. I enjoyed the twists and turns. It put me in the mindset of a Tyler Perry creation. I could visualize the entire universe created by Skynova. You are transported into the dark shadow world that exists in the world. I liked the strength of Honor and the power of Psalm. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. You’ll enjoy reading this book if you want to see yourself in the story. As a black woman, representation matters more than anything. Most mafia stories don’t show black people being in roles of power. I still love the mafia styled stories, but this one hit different. Happy reading!

Good but a lot going on
Ok, so Sins of the Heart was a rather complicated story for me to get with in the beginning. Honor’s conflict with her dad and his disdain for his children just didn’t make any sense to me. Especially in this type of organization where family is so important. Really the book frustrated me to no end. Psalm and Honor both needed to sit down if they was gone keep playing. I got tired of their back and forth and Honor’s silence about Halo. It was a lot going on in this book, from who Psalm really is to Vette, and poor Kash, it was so much.
All that said, it was a good read, just had a lot of drama. Psalm and Honor were definitely giving toxic love vibes.

If you’ve been looking for a black mafia family to read. Then this is the one. A controlling father, a mafia princess who wants to live her life on her own terms. And an MMC with BDE. And it’s a stand alone!
Psalm was my favorite part of the book. That man said I can show you better than I can tell you. And I love that.
If you do not like the secret baby trope. Sit this one out. You will get frustrated. Cause that baby stay a secret fo way too long. Even my secret baby loving self was getting frustrated. Because why is this baby still a secret.

Sins of the Heart
Whew 😅 hunny you took us through it with these 2! I hate that Honor let fear creep in majority of the book but it was warranted after you find out what she’s truly protecting. I will say she semi judged Psalm BUT until he had to make a change he honestly felt that way & she had to proceed with caution. Hudson was the worst & I’m glad he’s gone!!! Yes there was back and forth, some thing a little drawn out but it flowed so good you didn’t know it was a lengthy read!

COULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT READ IF NOT FOR THE GRAMMER
Psalm and Honor. She was a woman now. She wanted it all. She livied in a world of rules. She wanted to choose. For just one night. But she had drawn a lot of attention and chaos broke out.
Because of the grammer it was a bit confusing and slowed down my reading. So hard to understand what they were trying to say. Too bad because I really liked the plot. This is the first I read this author and wasnt what I expected.

Whew, this book had me on edge the whole time! The secrets, the lies, and the tension between the characters had me flipping pages like crazy. Every time I thought I knew who to trust, another twist came out of nowhere. Some of these characters worked my nerves especially when pride and past mistakes kept getting in the way. I wanted to reach into the pages and shake them more than once! But that’s what made it so good the emotional pull was real, and you can’t help but feel invested in how everything plays out.

Sins of the Heart pulled me in with its emotional intensity, complicated characters, and plenty of twists. The chemistry between the main characters kept me turning the pages, while the secrets, betrayal, and inner struggles added plenty of tension. I enjoyed watching the characters fight their feelings and deal with the consequences of their choices. It was an engaging, emotional read with enough drama and romance to keep me invested until the end. Definitely worth picking up if you enjoy angsty romance with a darker edge!

This story mafia story was fast-paced, complex, and full of secrets galore. It touched on greed, corruption, cover-ups, and more bloodshed than I could count. Right from the beginning of chapter 1 you could almost feel the darkness coming off the page. Throughout the story, I could see the hesitation between honor and Psalm.

The fmc and mmc I couldn't connect with. The characters and plot became more developed as you read but I lost interest pretty quickly around 30% was read. Oh well, I tried.
I usually am ok with mafia storylines but Psalm and Honor didn't resonate for me.
Being used to the characters having the pov, it was a bit getting used to of a third party narrator.

A great read loved Honor and Psalm!
Wow Honor and her mother endured a lot at the hands of Hudson, he ruled with an iron fist and really abused them mentally and physically. Thank God she met Psalm and he refused to leave her alone! She hid their son Halo from him but in,the end they finally got it together. Those Mafia bosses were a mess, in the end Hudson was dealt with and the family was free! Great read, I really enjoyed it!

BIG Psalm
This was my first read by this author and I enjoy every second of it. This is an arranged marriage with mafia ties, secret baby trope and you know we love a good secret baby. This is my first time reading an erotica in a while and it didn’t disappoint because it came with a plot. I love how Psalm stepped beside Honor and wasn’t afraid to go to war behind her against anybody. I am hoping that we do get a follow up story of Kash and indigo I would definitely like that.
