"It's been years since a post-apocalyptic story got under my skin like this."
When New York goes dark, only one man stands between his family and the chaos.
When an EMP attack cripples New York City, the lights go out and chaos erupts. Food runs out, riots consume the streets, and the city descends into a brutal struggle for survival. But Tony Nunziatta isn’t like everyone else—he’s prepared, and he’ll do whatever it takes to protect his son. After his wife is gunned down in the violence, Tony’s plans to escape are put on hold, and a deadly resolve takes over. With nothing but his skills and his fury, he wages a one-man war for justice in a city on the edge.
I really enjoyed reading this box set of EMP books it gives a whole new outlook on what could happen if the lights and electricity go out. The stories were well-done and kept my interest didn't want to stop when it was over. a really good read that keeps you interested all the way through I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoy this kind of series
I only managed to torture myself for an hour listening the audiobook. The narrator is so breathy and every third word or so is just randomly enlongated.
The series is filled with absolutely nonsensical bs. First, this box set is either too many hands in the pot or proof that the genre is appalling inundated with the same copy/paste prepper pawn that all these people wrote enough gibberish to be called a book that they’re all so similar they can be combined into a box set. Second, every little thing is so needlessly gone into in such detail that you get so bogged down with them trying to fill as many pages as possible and make what is essentially just one story into extended series. It’s clear that none of these “writers” (using this term loosely) understand that they’re supposed to MOVE THE STORY ALONG! We are hammered over the head with utterly unneeded details that we hardly ever get to any actual point.
Some quick examples I noted before rolling my eyes so many times I gave myself a headache and had to quit.
A supercomputer spending years just to break their cell phone encryption is absolutely laughable. Nothing is “unhackable.” Even if there was such a thing, no one with any ounce of common sense much less someone who spent their life in a mob family would have ever said a name or gone into detail. “It’s done” is all that would be said. The lecture and lesson would be saved for in person.
You’re telling me that a man who spent his life training as an assassin is so easily overwhelmed and yet the two goons are super chill?
Barely getting started and it’s clear they’re not a skilled writer and doesn’t have an editor. So much repetition of the same words and phrases, often in the same sentence or uses words like they’re trying to use a big word but it’s either unnecessary or not the right word at all.
“Killing each other if need be… or worse.” lol what’s worse than being killed? A perfect example of not just cluttered page filler but how they try to make every sentence some how dramatic! We don’t need suspense or tension built into every sentence and this is just one of so very many examples that these people are only interested in mass producing enough “books” and self publishing them to hopefully make a few pennies from the collective sales. QUANTITY IS NOT QUALITY!
Do you honestly think it’s realistic mom, dad, and teen son would suddenly have this prolonged heart to heart. Especially since we’re told repeatedly how extensively they’ve prepared for this or other disasters it doesn’t make sense the kid would suddenly be like “nah I don’t believe you it looks fine” and they’d dedicate all this wasted time to dad giving him a coddling speech? Absolutely not.
These are three separate stand alone books all dealing with the same theme. The proofreading and editing could have been better. The truth is that used to cause me to put a book down and move on. Fortunately the first book was the least offender. I’m so glad I stuck it out, these books were well worth it. The characters will stay with you long after your done reading. A great many books are over written, but each of these books I hoped would be longer.
I enjoyed every word of the stories I have read. All the Characters came alive . I hope you will keep writing more about them in the future .now I am going to see what else You've written and get busy reading.
