Brutal Billionaires #3

Brutal Arrangement

Rate this book
He can have any woman he wants.
He wants his brother’s.

Alex Sebastian is the billionaire who knows exactly how to re-launch the pop career I walked away from to raise my little sister.

He knows everything, apparently, about what’s good for me. For my image. Even for my lingerie. Everywhere I turn, he’s there, smirking. I cannot stand him.

So why can’t we stop sneaking around?

Maybe it's his filthy, bossy mouth that does things more wicked than his insults.

Maybe it's that he does know what’s good for me when he uses it—backstage before my show, during a black tie event, in another man’s living room.

Because maybe deep down, I've never been the good girl the world sees, and the dirty, shameful things he makes me do are exactly what I crave.

The problem? Alex isn’t the Sebastian billionaire I'm dating––I’m dating his brother.

Alex Sebastian wasn’t just being mean for the kink of it—the guy is legitimately a fucking asshole.

Look, if you know me, then you know I love the mean MMCs. Like super mean. Like I want to hate them for a solid part of the book, mean. What? I have kinks too, mkay? Fictional ones anyhow *smirks*

If you've read any book by Laurelin, then you know she's a master of the mean ones. She has written some of favorite alphaholes to date. But Alex Sebastian? May have just taken my number one spot of her heroes to date. Well, at least until she gives us the redemption arc of the biggest a-hole Sebastian, Alex's brother Hunter. But I digress.
Alex grabs both sides of my head and holds me in place. “Breathe,” he says softly. “Breathe. Through your nose.” Then he calls out. “She needs five minutes.”
“She has three.” The sound of heels clicking down the hallway follows, and I practically melt in relief.
“We better hurry then because the only way you’re singing that song the way it needs to be sung is with my cum coating your throat.”

Got your attention now, don't I. Now the premise of this book is deliciously forbidden because Mariah is dating Alex's older brother. But that relationship is not all as it seems so if you're thinking it's a cheating trope, it's not really. I don't want to ruin it for you, but trust me when I say you won't be rooting for Hunter in this book.

Mariah is a rising pop star who is trying to find her image that isn't cookie cutter and decided on by her team. Desperate to break through, she's willing to take risks she's never taken before, including a vixen image that she most definitely connects with. Alex is her boyfriend's brother and a man that gets under her skin like no other. And when he's put in charge of her re-launch, it's not long before the chemistry they're both trying to suppress bubbles over. And OMG the sexual chemistry between these two is out of this world.

Alex is deliciously mean for the majority of the book. I loved to hate him and boy did I hate him in parts. But then you get a peak into the layers that he hides, and you can't help but fall for him as hard as Mariah does.

This had so much heat! Alex is bossy, there's a degradation kink, and all sorts of sexiness. Trust me when I tell you, you probably don't want to read this book in public. It was a sizzler of a read that I binge read in one sitting and still find myself thinking about. Highly recommend!

We collectively need to take a stand against mediocrity.

Romance is regressing, I fear.

I was looking forward to listening to this trilogy/series.

But alas it was frustrating to witness the severe lack of chemistry between all these couples, 3 of the most annoying heroines I've ever encountered with the most bizarre takes on "feminism" and moral standings, and critical lack of self-respect, also while making the weirdest choices.

I want more for us as Romance readers.

I truly do.

So yes, I demand we take a stand.

We MUST ask more from Romance authors.

Ugh.

Riah Watson aka Zyah to the music world was a successful artist until she had to take a four year break from being a pop star to raise her little sister. Now she's lost her audience and needs an image overhaul before the release of her next album. She knows she has the talent and drive to take over the music world again. Being on the arm of the gorgeous billionaire she was dating brought her instant attention from the media, and great connections, but she needed to form a plan to propel her back into the spotlight and win back her fans. When her boyfriend's younger brother Alex seems to be the only person who knows just how to relaunch her career things turn complicaed. He was always around and knew just how to push her buttons and get under her skin. He doesn't really know her, yet he loves to give his opinion on everything. He's an annoying jerk and she hates that he is usually right about what is best for her. As they clash at every turn lines get blurred as they can no longer fight the spark between them.

Brutal Arrangement (Brutal Billionaires #3) by Laurelin Paige is an all new standalone, age gap, musician, billionaire, brother's girl, alphahole, forbidden, enemies to lovers romance full of passion, emotion, sizzling chemistry and love/hate at its best. It's a super steamy story that will captivate you from start to finish. I just adore thse delicious Sebastians, and can't wait for more of this world! <333

THAT WAS DELICIOUS!!! No notes.

Leave it to Laurelin Paige to invent the fake cheating trope, wrap it all up in a commentary on society's expectations of women and that marketing mainstay, the madonna- whor3 complex, and give us yet another flavor of smoking hot, sullen Sebastian alphahole.

Riah and Alex's chemistry is smouldering. Between all the sneaking around and dirty talking, a gal can't catch her breath.

Full Review (March 2024): This book was so good!!! Laurelin Paige has a way with writing where even if I think I don’t like a trope, I still wind up loving the book regardless. Fake dating usually doesn’t work for me. But this book asks the question, “what if the heroine is fake dating the guy who ISN’T the hero and we throw in an imagined love triangle?” I WAS HERE FOR ALL OF IT.

I don’t think readers necessarily have to read this series in order to understand who’s who. The connecting thread through all these books are the Sebastian family. And on the other side are the people they fall in love with. This book is about 26-year-old singer/songwriter Mariah “Riah” Watson (who also goes by Zyah as her stage name) and 35-year-old Alex Sebastian, a middle child in a really messed up billionaire family.

The only problem with Alex falling for Riah is that she’s currently dating his older brother, Hunter.

Content notes from the author's website: child abuse (off page), death of parent (off page), parent abandonment (off page), debasement, humiliation, feels like cheating, misogynistic environment, and toxic relationships.

This book was delectable and the sexual tension between Riah and Alex was off the charts. I initially started this book in Kindle Vella and I was obsessed with reading each new chapter as they came out and finding out how this whole relationship between them would work.

Riah is indebted to Hunter because he’s the one funding and promoting her comeback. What he gets out of this is that he needs to clean up his rakish ways by appearing to date a clean cut, goodie two shoes type of girl. Public perception is one thing, but what Hunter really needs is a way to convince the board that he supports traditional values and whatnot if he ever wants to gain control of the family company, Sebastian News Corp (SNC), and become CEO. It’s been drilled into him that he needs to be the best and achieve the highest there is to achieve in that family and he’ll do anything to get it.

So where does that leave Alex? Alex had always been his shadow and they’ve always been close. Alex has never stepped out of Hunter’s shadow because that’s what he’s used to and you’d think no one could be more loyal than these two brothers are for each other. However, Alex realizes that if he truly wants his brother’s girl, he’s going to have to leave Hunter behind and claim Riah as his own.

I love the dynamic between Riah and Alex. It’s very bully romance even though they’re older (bully romance might only apply to high school age books), so maybe this is just Alex being an alpha asshole. Riah has spent a lot of her formative years growing up way too fast, but she’s also done this away from the limelight. She’s had to raise her younger sister, Whitney, ever since their parents died and that’s meant giving up her singing career until Whitney was grown.

I really enjoyed seeing the transformation from Riah in this book. I loved seeing how she goes from being a little naive and innocent in the music industry to really flourishing and coming into her own by the end. I typically avoid books centered around musicians but the author handles this part of Riah’s character so well that I actually found myself loving this book BECAUSE of Riah’s musical talents and being able to go on this journey with her.

Something the books in this series have in common is strong female characters and I like that there’s periods of time in the story to give the female characters a chance to breathe and get a sense of who they are and what they want for themselves, without having to rely on a man. And even though Alex does wind up doing a grand gesture for her, Riah is still her own person.

I guess the elephant in the room is Hunter. He’s been enemy #1 in the Sebastian clan amongst all the cousins. It’s hard to get a sense if he’s truly just that much of an asshole or if he’s built so many walls around himself because of how his father’s treated him that this is just a defense mechanism for him to keep the world at arm’s length.

The next book is not Hunter though but about Adly Sebastian (Hunter, Alex, and Reid’s cousin. We got Reid’s HEA in book 2 with Brutal Secret. Adly is Holt’s younger sister and we saw Holt in book 1 with Brutal Billionaires). We do find out a little more about who she ends up with here and I can’t wait to get her book because I am baffled how she winds up with him. The guy is already working at SNC and Hunter’s best friend. Only complaint I would say I had with this book is that this best friend has a too similar name to Alex and it got confusing reading it at times. But that’s just me.

Hunter is book five and I CANNOT wait. Who could possibly put up with him or make him vulnerable enough to break down his walls to actually fall in love and get him out of the toxic relationship he has with his father? I don’t think his love interest was any of the passing mentions of women in this book but who knows? Maybe it is or maybe it’ll be someone totally new.

All I hope for by the end of the series is that Hunter and Alex wind up on better terms. There’s also their youngest brother Reid but they were never that close with Reid so it’s just different I guess. Also, they’re getting another half sibling so whatever is going on there we’ll find out in a future book? I have so many questions and the next books aren’t out yet so I guess I’ll just be here suffering for the next few months.

I can’t wait to listen to this on audio! I’m not the biggest fan of duet narrations (where the female narrator reads for all the female parts and the male narrator for all the male roles) but I’m still excited because Elena Wolfe is one of my favorite narrators and I’ll listen to anything she narrates.

This book is very sexy and I love that the male model cover correctly conveys that with his smoldering and intense gaze. I collect the discreet covers too but this cover is very *chef’s kiss*.

Overall, I really loved this book and getting to see how Riah and Alex wind up getting together, and seeing how Alex gets out from his brother’s shadow. There’s fun cameos from the main characters from previous books but nothing that takes away from Riah and Alex’s story. This entire series has been a hit for me so far, and I can’t wait to read more books about the Sebastian’s!

***Thanks to Valentine PR for giving me an e-ARC to read and review!***

Original Review (January 2024): The full book will be out in the spring (around March 2024?) but currently coming out piecemeal in Kindle Vella now for those who can’t wait for more of the Sebastians. I’m caught up through chapter 11. I’m not usually a fan of musician romances but this is heart stabby angst without involving a death or some sort of terminal illness, so I’m into it.

I can’t wait for Hunter’s book because he’s an absolute dick and I’m having trouble imagining what his book will be like or even who he’d wind up with and can he stick to monogamy?? Do we want him to?? I’m guessing Adly will get a book with Hunter’s BFF Ax?

And Riah and Alex is *chef’s kiss* this might not TECHNICALLY be a bully romance since those are usually high school/college romances (Riah is 26 and Alex is 36), but that’s the vibe at the moment and I am here for it (but also hoping things get cleared up between them soon). Their chemistry is off the charts 📈

The thing about Laurelin Paige’s female characters is, without a shadow of a doubt, that they own their sexuality. They might not be on the same page as me, but that does not matter. They are strong, independent women who know what they want. There is no kink shaming coming from me.

Riah Watson is talented, strong and sexy. I wanted her to boot the Sebastian men in her life to kingdom come. Hunter is a piece of work, and I hated the way he treats my girl. I couldn’t fathom out why he has so much control over Riah’s career including how she dresses and how she dances. He’s an evil Svengali figure who doesn’t have her interests at heart.Letting him dictate to her is not what a strong woman should do. I was screaming and cheering for her to stand up to him. He’s a douche.

It took a lot of convincing for me to think that Alex was any better for Riah than Hunter. I didn’t like the way he spoke to her but she knew what she wanted and Mr blue eyed, big dick had what she needed. Calling her a slut and a whore was a bit ick for me. His saving grace is that I would love to have a wet man in a three piece suit in my shower.

This book is full of sizzling sex and broody, moody men. Girl power rules and girls should always win.

Ooh Alex has become my favorite Sebastian! He’s so dirty and it’s amazing! I loved all the ways he pulled Riah out of her shell. Hello…library scene! *fans self*

I’ve fallen in love with Grandpa Irving a little more as well. The way he shuts up every one of the family members is hilarious.

Let’s not forget about Hunter…ooh Hunter…anyone else want to give him just what he deserves…what a pompous @$&.

My how Laurelin Paige knows how to shake things up in the Brutal Billionaires Series! Alex and Riah’s story did have me intrigued and itching to find out what would happen between this couple.

While being edgy and extremely sultry, Brutal Arrangement sure did have me hot around the collar when it came to both Hunter and Alex. While one was worse than the other, Alex did smooth things over after a while of me being on the fence with him. Hunter, on the other hand, ruined most any semblance of decency whenever he opened his mouth. BUT, he was always a riveting character that kept me on my toes.

Riah is a very conflicted character. She too had me flip flopping my feelings all over the place. I often found myself yelling out loud to her. Her internal struggles were relatable and I did root for her to conquer her hurdles.

Brutal Arrangement is a story of growth for these two characters. Although both Alex and Riah needed to find their own way out from behind Hunter, they both had their own demons to banish.

I did enjoy this book. Laurelin Paige has a special talent for making some of the most despicable characters turn things around in their favor. And in every case, her characters leave a long lasting impression that is sure to make them some of the most memorable. This is a great addition to this captivating series.

Brutal Arrangement by Laurelin Paige is a tantalizing dance between two souls destined to collide. Mariah and Alex's relationship is a whirlwind of passion and power struggles, set against the backdrop of the cutthroat music industry.

From the very beginning, even against all odds and social conventions – I mean, Mariah is dating Alex’s older brother, after all –, sparks fly and tensions rise, creating a magnetic pull that neither can resist. Mariah's fierce independence clashes with Alex's deliciously mean alpha male persona, leading to explosive encounters, full of heat, passion and chemistry.

As their connection deepens, secrets are revealed and vulnerabilities exposed, leading to a raw and intense exploration of love and longing. The forbidden nature of their attraction only adds fuel to the fire, making their journey towards each other all the more exhilarating.

With complex characters and an even more complex relationship (and no, it’s not cheating per se – you’ll have to read it to know what I mean), plus some of my favorite tropes – forbidden, age gap, enemies to lovers –, Brutal Arrangement is a captivating, intoxicating romance that once again shows why I’ll always come back to Ms. Paige’s brand of writing.

Brutal Arrangement(Brutal Billionaires #3) is quite the seductive hit! Who knew that when pop star, Riah Watson began a relationship and an arrangement with the ultra rich and powerful Hunter Sebastian to help revive her career, she had no idea what she was getting herself into. Considering how some of the Sebastian men are grade A a**holes, it doesn’t surprise me that Hunter acts like a disgusting, selfish and deceitful jerk.

But it’s a good thing that Alex Sebastian, Hunter’s very sexy, arrogant and younger brother is hired as Riah’s brand manager because even though they couldn’t stand each other, he’s actually good at his job. With all his cockiness and swagger, Alex brought out the best in Riah. And the verbal sparring is so hot and intriguing and an excellent build up for that sexual tension which nearly burned up my iPad!

There’s something very appealing and tantalizing about Alex and Riah sneaking around! They do so many filthy, dirty and naughty things to each other and I was in erotic heaven! And then they would have sweet moments where they would untangle a lot of emotions, share their secrets and open their hearts. It isn’t easy to crack that ice around a Sebastian man’s heart and this is exactly why I love this series. Once again, Laurelin Paige killed it with this engaging, steamy, fantastic and forbidden romance. Each book keeps getting better and better. And kudos to Laurelin Paige for including strong female empowerment in this storyline.

I’m loving this series, and so glad that author expanded on this family. This is a love triangle ish romance, though Mariah and Hunter are strictly business. His brother Alex and Mariah, though, had a lot of sparks between them! Alex hides a lot behind his mean facade, but he truly wanted Mariah to succeed. There were some heartwarming scenes as they got to know and become vulnerable with each other, and I really loved how Mariah looked out for her sister. Alex in turn, looked out for her, and all he wanted was to give her some power over her career and for her to want him instead of his money or his connections. I loved seeing these two figure out how they were right for each other. This was such a great read, and I can’t wait to see more Sebastians!

"Brutal Arrangement" by Laurelin Paige is a captivating tale of forbidden desire and hidden secrets that kept me hooked from start to finish. The forbidden romance between Alex and Rhia as well as Hunter, adds a delicious layer of tension to the story, making it impossible to put down. Despite the complexities of their relationship, their chemistry sizzles off the pages, leaving me eager to see how their clandestine affair would unfold. The narrative is skillfully crafted, drawing me in with its steamy scenes and intricate plot twists.
The narrators did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life, making their emotions and struggles feel real and relatable. Overall, "Brutal Arrangement" is a must-read for romance fans looking for a thrilling and passionate story.

Alex Sebastian is the billionaire you LOVE to hate! And there are even times I felt for her and the one sided relationship he has with his older brother, Hunter. Alex is suppose to be a women's man who is encapible of love. However, he does loves someone...she just belongs to his brother.
Riah, is in a relationship with Hunter Sebastain, or so she thought, until she finds him cheating. To save both of their careers she keeps the secret from everyone even her sister and especially his family. Although, Alex has never went against his brother, Hunter finally pushes him to far and he goes after Riah. And the adventure begins because something about Alex and his dirty, bossy mouth has Riah wanting more. I think Alex want just be my favorite Sebastian yet!

The Sebastian clan really are another level!

I had a love hate relationship with this story, Hunter is an absolute tool! But we already knew that, Alex wasn’t far behind for half of the book, and Riah just continued to let everyone walk all over her.

Lots of angst and emotions in this one, definitely all the feels and frustration.

Alex got his redemption in the end, both he and Riah just both had the learn the hard way.

Definitely a story of self discovery for all Characters with reveals that we need going into the next books, which is exciting!

Can’t believe Laurelin has, yet again, given us a character that I hate so much, then throw us a curve ball give us some enlightenment to a reason why! Now I can’t hate him, damn you woman! Lol

Then bring on Adly! Oh dear Adly haha.

Laurelin Paige certainly knows how to write a hot and spicy love triangle and this one is even more provocative since it involves two billionaire brothers and a sexy and beautiful entertainer. I love Riah and Alex together but unfortunately, she chose Hunter first or should I say, he chose her to belong to him. Hunter is a womanizer and a control freak and not my favorite person. The relationship between Riah and Hunter was strictly a business arrangement, engineered to make Hunter look more wholesome, which was impossible, and to resurrect her career. Riah had taken time off to raise her sister and she needed Hunter’s money and business connections to meet the right people in the music world in order to be a star again.

From the very beginning I didn’t like the way Hunter treated Riah and there just wasn’t a lot of passion or sparks in their “business relationship." His brother Alex exuded sexiness and swagger and was my choice to win Riah’s heart, and he let her know how he felt right away. Alex had an eye for what Riah needed to reach her target audience, and he was almost always right. They were perfect for each other because Alex never stifled her creativity (like Hunter did) and encouraged her to believe in every song she wrote and dance she performed. Alex played to win, and he loved beating his brother, especially when it came to someone as special as Riah. There is only one winner in the game of love and I am sure the best man will come away with not only Riah’s heart but more importantly, her trust.

Fabulous! Just fabulous! I fell in love with Riah from the start as it was clear that she has warmth, loyalty and a heart. Her devotion to supporting and caring for her sister Whitney is testament to that. However, she has a huge dilemma on her hands. In working to resurrect her career she has signed herself on for a complicated relationship with, for me, the most challenging and difficult of the Sebastian brothers, Hunter, all while engaging in sparing with his gorgeous, Hunter protecting, younger brother, Alex. Oh, and the spark that's there between these two antagonists is just waiting to be set alight....and it will be explosive. Who is going to get burned?
Riah is so incredibly relatable. She is so vulnerable, suffers from imposter syndrome and truly needs to be surrounded by people who help her to believe in herself and her talent, rather than sideline her and treat her as a commodity, or use her for their own image. Alex's tactics have many positives in spurring Riah to greater self-belief, but his techniques frequently suck!
This has been a brilliant read. Well written, fast-paced, hot, passionate, and rewarding. I loved it!! 💖💖💖💖💖

I have been a fan of Laurelin Paige for years and I’ve been really enjoying the Brutal Billionaire series so I’ve been hanging to dive into this and I was not disappointed one bit!

What to expect:
🖤 Billionaire
🤍 Brother’s Girl
🖤 Forbidden
🤍 Enemies-To-Lovers
🖤 Age Gap
🤍 Alphahole
🖤 Imagined Love Triangle
🤍 Toxic Relationship

This is book three in the Brutal Billionaire series and if you have read the previous books in the series, you will have met some of the Sebastian men and you will know they are egotistical, stuck up, know-it-all, selfish, arrogant SEXY AF assholes… that I can’t help but go back and I know it’s unhealthy… I shouldn’t be obsessed with these men. They are ASSHOLES.. And NO, I don’t just mean your typical bad-boy hero in most romance books. These men are pure breed dickwad and I’m in love with them. Don’t judge me. Lord, help me.

This is Alex Sebastian and Mariah’s story, however, Mariah is dating Alex’s older brother Hunter… Alex has a thing for Mariah. It’s a hot mess, isn’t it? The thing is… Hunter and Mariah’s relationship isn’t what it seems. I won’t go into detail but I will say that Hunter didn’t deserve Mariah and not once was I rooting for those two as a couple.

Mariah is a rising pop star but has to put her career on hold to raise her little sister. Four years later and now she doesn’t have a fan base or audience. She needs some publicity and a way to get herself into the spotlight and get some attention before she can release her new and next album. Having Hunter as a boyfriend and him being a wealthy, gorgeous man guaranteed some attention, however, it wasn’t enough and she needed a plan to win back her old fans and push her back into the spotlight in the music scene.

Add in Alex, he seemed to be the only one with the knowledge of how she can make this plan work. They end up spending a fair bit of time together and naturally form a bond. He had a way of knowing what buttons to push when it came to her and he enjoyed pushing them, getting under her skin and seeing her reaction. As they spend more and more time together, the closer they get and lines begin to blur and sexual tension between them is palpable.

This book packed a punch! It was action-packed, filled with spicy scenes, jaw-dropping moments that kept my attention from start to finish, angst, laugh-out-loud banter and moments I wanted to jump through the screen and punch someone. It was a roller coaster coaster of emotions!

5 STARS!

Riah and Alex's intoxicating and seductive forbidden love story took my breath away! Riah is trying to revive her music career after stepping back to raise her younger sister after the tragic loss of their parents. Hunter Sebastian needs to clean up his image, so he and Riah make an arrangement. They were dating for awhile but after his infidelity, they are together for needed events only. Alex is Hunter's younger brother. They have stuck together through a heartbreaking childhood. But when Hunter betrays him, Riah might be his answer. Riah has little control over her life and career. She is trying to be a good role model for her sister, while trying to be true to herself and her music. Alex is her Branding manager, and their attraction is undeniable. But his mercurial actions confuse her, but doesn't stop her from wanting him. Alex always wished he had met Riah first. When they finally give in to the sparks they have tried to ignore, they are fire together! But Alex doesn't want to be second choice to Hunter again, and Riah doesn't want to be a pawn for the Sebastian's. Can they really trust each other and find their forever love? I loved Riah and Alex together! The transformation they undergo as individuals and as a couple is so intriguing, and captivating, I couldn't get enough! I loved Riah's growth and confidence, and Alex's courage to be vulnerable. Riah's sister was fun as well, and seeing more of the Sebastian family makes me excited for what comes next.
Paige wrote a beautifully poetic and unforgettable love story. Every scene seductively embraces you, holding you in complete rapture. I loved every word of this beautiful, passionate, poignant, and super steamy romance!
Elena Wolfe, Robert Hatchet, JF Harding, and Sarah Pederson's narration added so much depth to these characters in this breathtaking romance, bringing it to life so clearly. The way Wolf and Hatchet portray Riah and Alex's complex relationship, making me feel all the angst, heartbreak, hope, and passion they felt was brilliant. Harding was so convincing as the self serving Hunter and Pederson shined in her narration debut as Riah's sister Whitney. I was completely captivated by their performance.

BOOK FUNNEL

Narrated By:
Robert Hatchet - Alex Sebastian
Elena Wolf - Riah Watson (Zia)
JF Harding - Hunter Sebastian
Sarah Pederson - Whitney Watson

Let me start by saying this was my first Laurelin Paige book and I will be listening to the first two book in this series immediately.
I loved this book, I went into it completely blind and my heart was bouncing with angst which left me addicted at the first chapter. This is the story of Hunter Sebastian, his girlfriend Riah Watson, and his brother Alex Sebastian. Riah Is a Pop Star who took time off to care for her sister. when it’s time to get her career rocking again she has to make sacrifices, make deals and keep secrets to get where she wants to be. Unfortunately her boyfriend is doing the same thing. As time goes on one Sebastian brother is there for her and her career’s best interest but it’s not the brother she’s supposedly in a relationship with. Riah was so naive and my heart broke for her at moments. She was singing songs about women empowerment yet not always feeling it in her personal life. Alex Sebastian brought that out in her, he gave her the confidence to feel sexy, make her feel heard and once she let her guard down around him she was able to really be herself on that stage. This is a billionaire, pop star romance with angsty forbidden love, family/ brotherly drama fueled by revenge and powerful men you want to drop kick yet fall in love with, a love triangle filled with a lot of delicious spice. The narrator line up is incredible, i was so inthralled with each one of their voices, Elena Wolfe, Robert Hatchet, and JF Harding. With special guest Sarah Pederson. I could feel every deep angst in their words, every single regret, or moments of sincerity. The passion was expressed with strong voices making you feel the chemistry even when the characters were fighting the passion. Also Elena Wolfe’s singing voice was so fun to hear!

Thank you for Valentine PR & Literary Management for this Advance Copy and the chance to listen and review.

Laurelin Paige did something amazing with this one! She gets a few tropes and subverts them in a most delightful way! Is this a rockstar romance? Yes, but not really. Is this a love triangle? Well, kinda sorta maybe? But the best one is … “fake cheating”?!
Riah is a singer/songwriter who’s trying to get back to her career in the music business she left to raise her teenage sister after their mother’s passing. Now Whitney is old enough so that she can go back to her singing career. She’s doing it with the financial backing of her billionaire boyfriend, Hunter Sebastian, who needs her to prove to his family he’s “settled” and can take over the family business. Things get complicated when Alex, Hunter’s brother, enters the scene. Enemies at first, Riah soon realizes Alex is the one who truly “sees” her, unlike Hunter who wants to mold her as the “perfect girlfriend”. Sparks fly, and as you could expect from a Sebastian, they turn into a raging fire. A whole lot of mess that is just riveting!
Now let’s talk about the audiobook: multicast narration by Elena Wolfe (Andi Arndt’s sassy alterego), Robert Hatchet (who’s so swoony and oh so dirty as Alex), J. F. Harding (who makes you want to wring obnoxious Hunter’s neck) and Sarah Pederson (audiobook fan who’s living the dream in a guest appearance that’s short but fun). They’re all great but they’re all in the presence of THE QUEEN. And the queen slays in this one because … SHE SINGS! A capella! Several times! 🎤 drop!
I love these filthy, dirty, brutal Sebastians and I can’t wait to see what Laurelin is going to do to Hunter…. *evil laughter*
Thanks @mustloveaudio for having me listen to this early!
Possible triggers: mentions of loss of parent, child abůse and abandonment. Debăsement, humiliatioñ, “sort of cheating”, misogynistic environment, toxic relationships

Another exquisite, addictive, steamy, empowering read that had me glued to my screen!!!

If you've read previous books in this series, you will know that the Sebastian men are selfish, egotistical and arrogant men who drive you mad with their ignorance and cockiness!
But, BUT, there is something about those men that keep you coming back for more 🤦🏻‍♀️
This is Alex Sebastian's story and he has a thing for his brother Hunters girl - it's never straightforward is it?!

Riah is trying to get her pop career back on track after a family tragedy and her and Hunter have an agreement to further both their careers with the 'settled' look. But with Alex in the background biting at Riah, it's only so long before she snaps - especially when she realises Hunter isn't who she thought he was!

Riah is filled with imposter syndrome and it's really sad to watch, she's a good girl (who likes to be bad 😘) but she really is full of self doubt but there's a fighter in there and it made me smile when she started to come out.
Alex is hot, dominant and a full scale a$$ at the start but living in someone's shadow isn't easy especially when they're not to be trusted.

It's full of steam, life struggles, self-discovery and self-belief, betrayal, want and hope.
And as per Laurelins usual writing, I was glued from page one! She just has a way with words that draws you in and I love it!!

A really good read and already I'm excited for the next one!!

Too marks ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

*I voluntarily received an arc and this is my honest review.

You've met some of the Sebastian's, but now we are delving deep into the half of the family that not many really care for, (starting with Alex) except for the one woman who starts to see the person behind the jerkish mask. Riah is dating his older brother, who also happens to be helping her jump start her popstar status after she took a hiatus to raise her little sister. When Alex inserts himself into her life and career, he makes her life a living hell.. until she realizes everything he does, is actually what she wants/needs. Too bad she's not exactly available. There is a lot of tension between the two, as well as between Riah and her boyfriend, Hunter. There is a anxiety inducing situation between them all and it may make you want to cry on her behalf, as she's gotten herself stuck in a no-win situation if she wants her career to be successful. Some secrets to be made. The characters have their flaws, but are also aware if them (mostly.) They may not be perfect, but together they can rule the world... if they can get Hunter out of the way. ;) Both characters have a little bit of brokenness about them. Both looking for something that seems out of reach. Of course, lots of sexual content (intended for mature readers.) Lots of dirty talking. The book reads easily and keeps you enthralled and entertained. It alternates POVs.

Why have been sleeping on 𝙻𝚊𝚞𝚛𝚎𝚕𝚒𝚗 𝙿𝚊𝚒𝚐𝚎 books? Y'all didn't tell me how good she is! Billionaire hottie brothers? Age gaps? I'm down for that!

Oh these characters. Mariah, Alex, Hunter....let's not forget Whitney! I'll admit that I'm not a huge fan of love triangles but this one was done superbly well & I absolutely devoured it. The dynamic between these beautifully chiseled characters was full of angst, sizzling chemistry & oh so much swooniness! ‌

Watching as Alex's true feelings for Riah come to light was a delight! I rooted for him from the get go, because let's face it. Hunter? He made me want to throw my kindle & headphones so many times.

But, 𝙻𝚊𝚞𝚛𝚎𝚕𝚒𝚗 𝙿𝚊𝚒𝚐𝚎 did a beautiful job of rounding out this 𝑩𝒓𝒖𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 & easing my twisted heart with these broody alphaholes & the independently strong woman who is caring for sister.

𝐸𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑎 𝑊𝑜𝑙𝑓𝑒 was a powerhouse at bringing Riah to life! She nailed it & I was so happy to hear give the emotions! 𝑅𝑜𝑏𝑒𝑟𝑡 𝐻𝑎𝑡𝑐ℎ𝑒𝑡 did a magnificent job filling Alex with all the alphaholeness & feelings! As always, 𝐽.𝐹. 𝐻𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 did a magnificent job with Hunter's broody self! I love his voice & always love to see him bring his emotions to the heart of the character. My girl 𝑆𝑎𝑟𝑎ℎ 𝑃𝑒𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑜𝑛 epically ᖇOᑕKᗴᗪ her debut as Whitney! She is gonna be one I want to see more of in future audios!

Grab this one up! I can't wait to listen to more from this author!

Billionaire Romance / Brothers Girl / Alpha-hole / HEA

This is book 3 in the Brutal Billionaires series. Mariah is a pop star that took time off to raise her younger sister after losing their mom. She’s dating Hunter, a billionaire with a sleazy reputation. He’s helping her get her career back up while she’s helping to clean up his image. All is going well until Alex, Hunters younger brother, is on the scene. Alex pushes Mariah’s buttons and when she finds out that Hunter has been cheating on her she calls it quits. Problem is, they still need each other so they pretend to be together. I really enjoyed this story and even though Alex was a demanding alpha-hole, he stood there and took her dressing down like a man truly in love. Parts of this book had me laughing out loud and I love that … give me some sassy dialog. I was gifted this book for an honest review and I loved it.

Secrets. Scandalous. Two brothers. Fake dating.

Man this was seductive, forbidden and I loved it! Loved the story line of the fake dating, brother love triangle and the off the charts steamy chemistry between Alex and Mariah.

Mariah is a pop star that took time off to care for her little sister and is now trying to revive her brand. She’s dating Hunter Sebastian. He cheated on her however, their relationship is good for both of them for public relations. So they agree in secret to keep fake dating and tell no one. His brother, Alex inserts himself into Mariah’s career and becomes in charge of her music. We all love to hate Alex. Who wouldn’t? He’s mean to her, bully and just down right rude. But wait- the chemistry between him and Mariah. She hates him too but slowly realizes he is everything she wants and needs. He pushes her beyond her limits, encourages her and helps her find the confidence she had been missing again. The audiobook was brilliantly narrated by a full cast including Elena Wolfe, Robert Hatchet, J.F. Harding, Sarah Pederson. It really made the story come to life with each voice actor giving the part for the characters. The emotion, angst, grit and chemistry was perfection!

Audiobook Review: This book was so good! It was fake dating, but not in the traditional sense, secret/forbidden relationship, brother’s girl. Lots of banter and revenge sex. All the way around entertaining. I love seeing Riah blossom from the submissive good girl to owning her femininity and sex appeal. We love a strong woman. And Alex. Jeebus…the mouth on that man 🥵🥵🥵 but when revenge sex turns into more…let’s just say there are kinks that need worked out in the plan. It was really good, y’all.

The narrators, Elena Wolfe, Robert Hatchett, JF Harding, and Sarah Pederson did a great job bringing the drama and emotions out in this story.

Brutal Arrangement is book three in the series and was a good read. Riah Watson is trying to re-launch her pop career with help from Hunter Sebastian. Riah and Hunter have an agreement to further both of their careers. However his brother Alex Sebastian is in the background showing Riah exactly what she needs. Alex was bossy, dominant, Filthy and sexy. The chemistry and sexual tension between Alex and Riah was sizzling. I loved them for each other. Looking forward to reading the rest of the Sebastian's.
