Couldn't Finnish. At least beginning is just about the roots of hypnotism-like parlor tricks and medical shows. Got the impression that this is a century old book itself. Might have gotten more interesting... But so far nothing like what we'd call hypnotism today

Not a primer. More of a 'history of how other people hypnotize'.
